Jessica's school is shut due to the snow but poor Ellie's isn't (her's is only just down the road Jess has a 40 minute bus ride) I know this is terrible but I think they should close Ellie's school, we literally only get this much snow about every 4-5 years and it only lasts a few days, just let the kids play!!!! Anyway it's still snowing so at least they'll be plenty once she gets out of school, it's forecast all day and to stay tomorrow too :thumbsup2 We walked to the supermarket this morning as we didn't want to take the car out and then Jess and David have been sledging. There is a bit of a hill near us but trouble is it's hardly got any snow on it as everyone goes there :rotfl2:
I would have kept her home "sick". That's so weird they wouldn't shut both schools. :sad2:

Hello Fockers!
Looks like Jo had a good snowy birthday! We're expecting some tomorrow. I got up to go to work, but Ab has a migraine so will wait and see how she is. She took Imitrex at 5 am but now she's jittery and nauseous.

Had a good time in Knoxville----CE--your inlaws were loads of fun and they want your boys to start cheering now! :rotfl2:
Both of her squads came in 2nd which they felt good about--they stuck all the stunts and were beat by REALLY good teams so they were happy with their scores.
Next trip is Myrtle in March!

So what' going on today??
Great job, Ab! :cheer2: We have our first competition this weekend. Then we go to Dallas for a competition/convention Valentine's weekend. I'm tired thinking about it. :faint:

Good Morning Fockers. Not a good day here. DOn't know how much I will be checking in. I got into work at 8:55am and was informed that one of our supervisors dropped dead of a heart attack at 52 years old...in work:sad2: Place is in kind of a chaos right now. Will try and check back later.

I did see/read everyone's posts...just done't know how much I retained, so hugs for all who need them:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
Oh no! How sad.

 all around.

Hope everyone is okay. I skimmed but I feel like ****, so I have retained nothing.

Over night, Jon developed a healthy fear of the bully...again. Begging me not to send him to school. Breaks my heart. :guilty:

I've already spoken to the counselor this morning.

:sad2:

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.
That just breaks my heart. Poor guy.
I hope you feel better too, Jen.

OMG, Janet...I think it's YOU who needs the hugs this morning :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Sorry Janet...in my haze I was neglectful.

 darlin'. Many many many

Sending good thoughts doll.

Morning everyone!

Lori - I'm sorry for your loss.

Janet- Wow... to young! I am really sorry for the loss of your co-worker.

:grouphug: to everyone. I am off to feed the TINK, who is hungry!

Thanks for all the hugs guys. This person wasn't someone I was really close with, but knew...kwim? THe whole feeling of the place is just really weird today. I expect it will be like this for a few days.

They are calling for snow tomorrow night into Wednesday (Yes, Jo...you are the only one who :cheer2: when there is snow in the forecast;) ). It is supposed to start at rush hour tomorrow night. I'm supposed to take a couple of hours vacation so I can pick Jimmy up from after school care (so we don't get charged $1.00 per minute:scared: ) becasue Jim has interim report conferences tomorrow night. However, if the weather is bad they will cancel all after school activities. My day is going to be in flux tomorrow.

Janet - I went through something like that at work, too. Even if you aren't close to the person, it's tough.

Poor Ellie, that just seems really unfair! :sad2:
She thinks so too :rotfl2:

I got up to go to work, but Ab has a migraine so will wait and see how she is. She took Imitrex at 5 am but now she's jittery and nauseous.
Hope she's OK!

DS6 is better thanks. Now DD11 has a sore throat.
Oh no

I'm so sorry Janet, even if you don't really know them it's still hard

I did think about it but it's a small village :rotfl2:

They are calling for snow tomorrow night into Wednesday (Yes, Jo...you are the only one who :cheer2: when there is snow in the forecast;) ).
You say that as if it's strange :confused3 :rotfl:

The girls have made a family of snowmen in the back garden and we did a bit more sledging, it was too busy though. Jessica's school has already cancelled for tomorrow and it hasn't stopped snowing all day. We've got about 4-5 inches which I know is tiny for some of you but it's managed to bring England to a stand still :rotfl:

We're having toad in the hole with mash and onion gravy tonight, good for a cold day!

Janet - I went through something like that at work, too. Even if you aren't close to the person, it's tough.

Thanks V :grouphug: It's just wierd. Everyone is just walking around in shock.!

I'm so sorry Janet, even if you don't really know them it's still hard

Thanks Jo:grouphug:

Will that be enough to get Ellie off of school tomorrow;)

We're having toad in the hole with mash and onion gravy tonight, good for a cold day!

Do I want to know what this is:scared:

We're having toad in the hole with mash and onion gravy tonight, good for a cold day!

I'm sorry Jo...could you translate that into American? Because that sounds utterly disgusting. :crazy2:

I'm hoping with all hopes that when she goes into the vets tomorrow that they will say its something fixable but I think that is just wishful thinking.

Oh, Lori. I'm so sorry.

And it's still snowing

I'm happy for you! (I wouldn't be happy if it were me, but I can be happy if you like it! :) )

Also because it's so rare we don't have to make up the day off like US schools do!

::yes:: I could like that kind of snow day. ;)

SD's bus never showed up. He was out there from 6:45 to 7:15! The neighbor finally drove him and her daughter, thankfully.

Sounds like my day on Thursday. We waited 40 minutes, it never came, I drove them and MET the bus still nowhere near our neighborhood yet. Then, (sorry, all who read this, but she was gone) my normal 7 minute drive to school took 25. :crazy2:

Had a good time in Knoxville----CE--your inlaws were loads of fun and they want your boys to start cheering now!

:rotfl2:

Morning! And OMG, what a game!

I didn't care much about who won, but I was SO happy it wasn't boring! I can't believe the last few minutes. :faint:

I'll check in later. Have a great Monday! TTFN!

You, too!

::yes:: My friend who was over last night says her husband, whose father we went to the funeral for in IL, you know?, is having a harder time with the quick cancer death of the co-worker (where I sat with all the kids last Sunday whilst D & John went to the wake) than his own father's passing, because it's more unexpected and felt to him much more like, "this could be me." So, even when you don't know someone well, it's still shocking and sad.

They are calling for snow tomorrow night into Wednesday

Saturday night, they were saying that storm would either hit us, dumping up to 24 inches of heavy snow, probably causing roof collapses and such due to last week's snow and ice not being melted off, OR it would miss us entirely and we'd get flurries. Today's forecast for tomorrow says, "Snow flurries" :cheer2: Sorry you're getting it, but can I be pleased that we're not?

We've got about 4-5 inches which I know is tiny for some of you but it's managed to bring England to a stand still

Really, that's a normal snow for us, too, and we might delay or cancel for that, depending on what time it is. For us, it's not so much the actual snow as the ability to clear it for the buses in time (where I'm sure your village doesn't have the budget, equipment, etc. so it's harder), so if we got 4-5 inches starting around 6:00 in the morning, we'd be canceled too, as they wouldn't have the roads clear.

That may not have made sense, but I'm trying to say that you (your town, not you personally) are NOT not being "babies" about this - that's some real snow! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

*************************************************
Well, I got up and got the kids off to school, did a crossword and had breakfast, and then fell asleep on the couch. For some reason I'd been tired all weekend, and of course last night I stayed up after midnight for no real reason, on the night that I'd have to get up in the morning.

I feel horribly guilty, but I figure if I slept I must have needed it, right? And I didn't miss anything, and I cleaned the house yesterday before having people over, so... Oh well.

But, I have to go to school in a bit to work on a bulletin board. I offered to do another volunteer job, but it involved going to meetings that I just can't make, so they asked if I'd do the bulletin board instead. Like an idiot, I said yes. I am not crafty/creative. :lmao: I'd never even known the office existed that they showed me on Friday, which has the stuff for b-boards in it... Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. :rotfl:

So, I'll see you all later, likely.

D gets done with training at about 4:30 tonight down in NJ and they've decided that they'll go ahead and come on home, but leaving Teterboro at 4:30 sounds to me like they'll have some traffic for a bit. I don't expect him until really late. He said he'd take the rental car back to the airport directly and take a cab to get his car from the workshop (I need to go pay them after I do the school thing.) So, by the time that's all said and done, it won't be the typical 5 hour drive, you know?

Have a good afternoon. :grouphug:

OK, I would like to know what toad in the hole is too. I think it's a biscuit type thing with sausages but I'm not sure. Mash and gravy is potatoes w/ gravy, right? Sounds yummy.
We are having pasta, sauce and turkey sausage (hot/spicy) tonight. I wanted to bake cookies to go w/ but I was lazy! LOL.

Sounds like my day on Thursday. We waited 40 minutes, it never came, I drove them and MET the bus still nowhere near our neighborhood yet. Then, (sorry, all who read this, but she was gone) my normal 7 minute drive to school took 25. :crazy2:
The bus did finally come, but it was 5 minutes after Jill drove them. We are fairly lucky with bus service here as I can only recall that happening maybe 3 other times in 12 years. However, when it does happen, it's so inconvenient!

As CE said, it depends on the time the snow arrives here too! If we only get 4 inches, that's still enough to cancel if it arrives at say, 4:30 am or so. They wouldn't be able to clear it IN TIME. They would get it clear though. In Jo's case, it would be a case of even being ABLE to clear it without equipment! I'm so glad the girls got to play in the snow!

I volunteered to bulletin boards once at school. BIG mistake! I'm not creative or clever at all. I did one and that was it! They found someone else when i said, "Clearly I'm not really good at this." The teacher agreed! LOL....

**************
OK, I called Honda to schedule my lease turn-in inspection (Feb. 16). And the last payment is due today. Yay! I'm so glad I only had one month of overlapping payments on the cars.

I did a load of laundry and showered. That's it. LOL. Too lazy today. I have to leave to get SD in about an hour. Hope your day is going well everyone!

Oh, and Janet, I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker. That is young!

MEL:banana:

WHOOPS, I also wanted to answer whoever asked about December WDW? I can't recall who, sorry.
We have been doing some serious financial accounting and have decided that we can't afford to go this summer, unless we take just a short 2-3 day Adults Only trip. The next "big" trip to WDW will be *hopefully* a week at Beach Club from Dec 18-24th.

I'll be updating you guys though.....:upsidedow

OMG. Girl fight. And I was the only one in the classroom.

Just thought that I'd announce that I escaped without a black eye! :teeth:

Chicks, man. They're so evil.

However, when it does happen, it's so inconvenient!

::yes:: She got stuck once last year, but still only about 20 minutes late. This was nutty.

:rotfl: I met today with someone and we did it together. I think I can handle the next one on my own, but... They might not be very exciting. ;)

but can I be pleased that we're not?

Sure!:thumbsup2

I;m at the point that if it is going to snow, snow enough to shut EVERYTHING down for a couple of days. Ya know, like the 30 inches we had back in 1996!

:rotfl2: I think she has been licking those magical toads.

:sad2:

OMG. Girl fight. And I was the only one in the classroom.

Just thought that I'd announce that I escaped without a black eye! :teeth:

Chicks, man. They're so evil.

Good going staying black eye free:thumbsup2

Ever? :faint:

I used to get in quite a few skermishes as a youngin'. ;)

Me too:guilty:

Nope, no flies!

When are you going to be available for drunken Spanish?

Yay!! Poor Isis, I really should visit her. Drunken Spanish on a non-friday I might actually make it. :upsidedow

Also found out the foot pain, is planter fascitis

Mo  my mom has that too. They put some injections in her and it was ok for awhile and told her to get a boot that stretches the back of her foot.

I'm glad Namath is doing better. :goodvibes

No interest in the Superbowl (no, we're not bitter ) but I am interested in the commercials becasue apparently Universal is going to announce a big promotion during one of the commercials.

The Universal Promo was to go to their website, click on Superbowl offer and the 1st 100,000 entries get a weeks free ticket!

Do it!

MEL

WHAT?!?!? WHAT?!?!?! DARN!!! I missed this!!!! :headache:

Wanted to say welcome to the newcomers. I'm Lessa, I'm 25 making me the youngest of this group and I am also the Canadian rep for the Fockers. I am single but have a great and entertaining family, I think my outrageous brothers must scare all potential boyfriends away.

:rotfl: Hey they'll come in handy for the boyfriends you don't want too Lessa. :p

hold the phones, WHAT?

I'm incrocnito. ;)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I have to put my puppy to sleep tomorrow morning/afternoon. My dad or brother are actually taking her because I just can't do it. She was my first baby.

   I'm so sorry Lori.

Morning! And OMG, what a game! I was sort of rooting for the Steelers (us steel towns have to stick together - well, once the Bills were out of contention, anwyay ), but would have liked to see Kurt Warner win, too. Those last few minutes were flipping amazing!!!

::yes:: Well actually the last half was a good game, but like CE said I'm glad it was a game and not a blow out. I so wanted Arizona to win :guilty:. Still mad @ the refs for some of their calling. :sad2: Did you see the frustration on Warner's face that last drive. :sad2:

Oh well it was a good game! I was actually surprised about all the commercials since they were saying there wouldn't be many commercials this year, so I missed half of them.

Good Morning Fockers. Not a good day here. DOn't know how much I will be checking in. I got into work at 8:55am and was informed that one of our supervisors dropped dead of a heart attack at 52 years old...in work Place is in kind of a chaos right now. Will try and check back later.

Just thought that I'd announce that I escaped without a black eye!

Chicks, man. They're so evil.

:thumbsup2

Mel!!!! Welcome back!!!! Yani and I had a blast with you guys! :grouphug:

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

Our Super Bowl party was fun, some people left at halftime (the ones who brought their girlfriends who could care less about football  ). We had waay too much food and alcohol left over. But I had fun :bitelip: even though the Cardinals lost.

I just woke up and have to work tonight.

Talk to ya'll later! :hippie:

Ever? :faint:

I used to get in quite a few skermishes as a youngin'. ;)

Nope. Closest I came was when I played high school basketball, and there was a lot of jostling, but never an actual fight, ever. :confused3

I'm too nice. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Thank you! I don't want to be mean. ;)

We had waay too much food and alcohol left over. But I had fun :bitelip: even though the Cardinals lost.

I have SO many chips left, and it's not a good thing. I can resist sweets, but not chips. :sad2:
