First...our trip to Albuquerque the beginning of this week: Yes, Jon has polyarticular juvenile onset rheumatoid arthritis. We will be returning to Albuquerque in a few weeks to discuss treatment options. Right now, the affected joints are his ankles, knees, hips, fingers, wrists, and elbows. :sad1:

Second...our trip to Dallas: It was the trip from hell. Here's the thing...Meeska's ex-hubby is a jerk. We'll leave it at that. He behaves like a child. I felt the need to snatch her up and hug her after watching how he treats her. :sad2:

And last...Jon got very ill yesterday. He has rheumatic fever. Scared the **** out of me. Please. If ya' have a spare moment...send good thoughts to my li'l guy.

Many hugs to ALL of you.

On nother subject on FB I am recognizing you guys more by pix of your kids ...so I now know who Jen is for sure and CE, I send you guys lots of goodies !!

Yes, you do! I'm glad you know me. ;)

Good Saturday morning, friends!

We are getting a good snowstorm today. It's supposed to snow 2 inches an hour...whoa! I brought Gus to pick up his supplies for the bunny. Hay, feed, bedding etc. He's sad that we can't get the bunny today, but we'll go tomorrow.

I made baked blueberry french toast for breakfast this morning. It was so good! I had to leave right after I ate it though, so I didn't get to enjoy my coffee and I'm having more now. Bob and SD are still sick. SD has developed a terrible cough unfortunately. I hope Bob gets well soon, his trip to CA is Monday.

Dawn: Sorry about the move but I know you'll be ok. We're here for you!

CE: How about chili? I make turkey chili using the packaged chili seasoning by Carrol Shelby. It's in the aisle with the gravy packets (seasonings) Use 1lb. of ground turkey, 2 cans kidney beans:drained, 1 bottle beer, pkg. of seasonings (minus the salt) and 1 14 oz (i think) can of tomato puree. You could double it and and do some corn muffins. The pkg. Martha White ones are delish and only take milk.

Hope that helped! IF the kids don't like chili you can put hot dogs in with the chili and they'll get warm! You can put them on a bun for the kiddos.

Have fun, I heard Maine could get 18" of snow!!!

MEL:banana:

Morning Fockers! My friend from PA is coming to visit this week, so i spent the morning cleaning my bathroom and doing laundry. Leo actually fell asleep in a chair while I was taking a shwoer - allergies must be getting to him, poor baby! We're playing some Wii now and might go for a bike ride this afternoon. Nice Sat.! :goodvibes

Dawn and Jen - many hugs and good thoughts your way.

Happy BirthdayCE!!

 :wizard: :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2: :flower3:

Had a very long 13hour work day !! Got all I HAD to do done! I really could have goten out earlier but 2 of the staff were cooking Southern style for our monthly Ethnic night

So now we are ethnic? :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: LOTR = Lord of the Rings
I would never have got that :rotfl2:

Tink's school has little mini community event/carnival today at DS school (for space reasons). I have to work it for the first half, then bring Tink around to all of the activities.
You're such a good mommy!

We do have really good friends back in Austin, a great church, a wonderufl homeschool group and family. It's only about 1.25 hours from where we are now, so we can visit whenever we want for the day.
Think of the positives and as others have said with e-mail, skype, FB the world is a lot smaller and hey you always know where to find us :goodvibes

Hope she has fun! It's nice and sunny here too, but it's 25, which translates to -3 for you. ;)
So a bit chilly then :rotfl:

I am in full blown stress mode over this trip. (and I do realize it's nothing compared to some of you guys' stress, but...) I haven't done laundry or packed, I JUST remembered to stop the mail and paper. I have no idea what to make for the dinner I'm in charge of, because I'm having a hard time thinking of something for 12 people. I have to shop for that today, and since I've not ever done a trip like this with a rental house, am thinking of stuff like, "If I need salt for the recipe, I probably need to bring it, crap."
OK did I miss you're going away???? Where? For how long? Who with?

And last...Jon got very ill yesterday. He has rheumatic fever. Scared the **** out of me. Please. If ya' have a spare moment...send good thoughts to my li'l guy.
I'm so sorry Jen sending lots of pixiedust: for Jon and a  for you!

I send you guys lots of goodies !! I'm addicted but my primary addiction is still right here !!
Now again any Irish dessert recipes !!???
We noticed Rosie :rotfl2: And sorry don't know any Irish desserts? But try this link HERE!

We are getting a good snowstorm today. It's supposed to snow 2 inches an hour...whoa!
Will that mean Gus can go snow boarding again?

No Janet today??? Hope she's not too ill, I know she said yesterday she wasn't feeling well!

K just got home, so I can only post a quick tidbit. It looks like we're moving back to Austin.

   For you and your family. Moves are tough on kids at that age. You'll see that everything works out for the best.

CE: Hope your feeling less stressed about the vacay.

Jen and Jon:          For everything!

Kristel: :worship: Great Recap! :rotfl2:

:jumping1: :jumping1:

Can't wait to see you all Fockers!!! :magnify:

Good morning lovelies.

I guess I need to spill on some things, eh?

First...our trip to Albuquerque the beginning of this week: Yes, Jon has polyarticular juvenile onset rheumatoid arthritis. We will be returning to Albuquerque in a few weeks to discuss treatment options. Right now, the affected joints are his ankles, knees, hips, fingers, wrists, and elbows. :sad1:

I have never been SO ready for a vacation. And mine is officially 28 days away! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Dawn... babe.

You guys are so sweet.
We'll be okay. I know we will. I just worry about Baylie. She really came into her own here these last few years. She's finally so happy. :sad1: We haven't even been here 3 years yet. :sad2:

We do have really good friends back in Austin, a great church, a wonderufl homeschool group and family. It's only about 1.25 hours from where we are now, so we can visit whenever we want for the day.

K's family will still be in SA, so we will come visit them all the time. I know it could be so much worse and I'm grateful it's not. It's going to be hard on us, though. :guilty:

In a way, it's sort of a promotion, but I'm sure in this economy he won't get a raise. They've offered to buy our house, so we don't have to wrry about that. But I do worry about the price they'll pay. We owe much less than it's worth. Without that equity, we can't purchase another house. :confused3
Part of me wants to just go now, and part of me wants to wait until the school year I over because of dance. I'm not sure when they need him. And being that it's a weekend, we won't get answers until at least Monday. :headache:

I have to run B to dance and I'll be out a lot today, but I'll check in later. Everyone have a nice Saturday. :goodvibes
  I'm sorry Dawn. She (and the rest of you) will make it, but poor Bailey's at such a yechy age anyway.

Hi Guys!

Just a quick drive-by. I've got to take DD5 out for dinner. I promised her I would since DD7 and Daddy have gone to the Brownie Daddy-Daughter Dance. I just had to stop by and post a picture I took tonight. I'll be back later to give hugs, etc. I've been trying to keep up reading, but haven't been so good and responding. Just know that I'm thinking of all of you!

Anyway, here's the picture I took before they left for dinner and the dance:

Be back later! Hope everyone is having a great night!

I thought about that, but I decided on my pizza casserole, which can be put together in the morning and thrown on in the after-ski hours.

Leo actually fell asleep in a chair while I was taking a shwoer - allergies must be getting to him, poor baby! We're playing some Wii now and might go for a bike ride this afternoon. Nice Sat.!

Oh, no, but I am glad you're having a nice day.

OK did I miss you're going away???? Where? For how long? Who with?

Oh, yeah. Our friends, John & Deb, whom we do all the holidays with and so forth, had rented a house near a ski area in Maine with friends of theirs from their DD7's school. That first house had a furnace explosion or pipes burst or something, so the rental agency fixed them up with another place at the same price. The new place has room for us, and so it's really reasonable for a 3-way split (as they were meaning to do it half-and-half anyway) and then we got discount lift tickets for the ski area. All in all, it's a very cheapish way to ski for several days over the break, but it was all kind of last minute and so forth. Oh well. We're supposed to leave tomorrow afternoon and get back Thursday, but there's more on that below...

I'm feeling stressed because I don't camp and I have never done a house rental vacation, and we have to bring EVERYTHING but towels and sheets, so while we're all in charge of a dinner, I have to think about packing, for example, salt. It just seems like a lot to have to remember, and without D here, I'm freaking out. ;)

No Janet today??? Hope she's not too ill, I know she said yesterday she wasn't feeling well!

I hope not, either, but I bet she's down.

CE: Hope your feeling less stressed about the vacay.

Not at all, but thanks for the wishes. :)

Well it's official, we're booked for March!!!!

Awesome!

You guys are the absolute best! I came to get some advice because I was so mad I was spitting nails. Now, I'm choking on my nachos.

What's wrong, Salty?

*******************************************************
Well, not running around all day yesterday is going to come back to bite me. We got up and started packing and laundry, but then Woody started saying he has a tummy ache, and nearly didn't want to go to basketball, so I knew it was real. He made it through b-ball, but then the plan was to get some lunch, then do our shopping, go to the bank, and run by the ski store to get replacement gloves - his are falling apart due to overuse. ;)

Well, he didn't eat, and was really hurting, so we had to come right home. I didn't need the bank to be open - just an ATM transaction, but I couldn't get to the ski store (or the liquor store - I was supposed to pick up extra tequila... ;) )

We came home and he stayed on the couch for a couple of hours, then thought he was OK. We went out to the ski store, and he started having pains again, so we drove quickly through the bank, but that's all. I still have to go out and do all the grocery shopping. :headache: D's supposed to land in about 10 minutes or so, but it will take him a while to do paperwork and come home, so it looks like the store at 8:00. Fun.

Meanwhile, I don't know about Woody. There's been no nausea or anything, but he is pretty miserable. It may wind up that I have to send D & Scott tomorrow and we wait a day to go up, but of course we've already bought the lift tickets for Monday for everyone. Cheap, but still money down the drain if we don't get up there. Meanwhile, we're supposed to get 6-8 inches of snow starting tomorrow afternoon, right when we meant to leave, and of course we're driving into worse going into Maine. It will make coming home Thursday night interesting, too, if we can't get into our driveway if it snows a lot after we're gone.

I do have the boys clothes packed (except the ski pants and so forth) and the three of our laundry done - D will have to do his tonight.

It will be fine, and lots of fun, but I'm really, really stressed about the food, in particular. :headache: Cooking for 12 is a challenge anyway, and then having to haul it all 3 hours away, and remembering that just because I don't always have to buy oregano for this recipe, because I have it, but I have to TAKE oregano is just more than I can deal with right now. :rotfl:

Sorry, it's not a horrible problem to have, I'm just not in the right mind set.
