Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Why, then you could call your neighbors and have them help you look for her;)
:rotfl2:

Honestly it's the freakin' airfare that's a killer! :faint:
Tell me about it :mad::sad2:

At this rate they can get into the Culinary Institute no problem. ;)
Yeah but I'll be about 300 pounds :rotfl:

but then we also have off March 9th. It's a totally random Tuesday, for workshops. At least make it a Monday, folks! :headache:
Or a Friday, Tuesday is just daft!!!

Now they are saying we are going to get anothe 8 to 10 inches on Tuesday Night into Wednesday. Excuse me, I dont live in Maine (or NH;)) we should not be getting his much freaking snow!
Yikes, will you be able to get to work?

We had fun playing tennis, but poor, poor D. He got a new racquet, and once we got started playing, maybe the second serve, he hit himself in the eyebrow, hard enough to cut it open. :scared: It bled and bled, and goose-egged a bit. He went and got ice and so forth, was really, really embarrassed, and finally came back. I promptly hit a hard overhead at his feet (a usual tactic) but the ball came up off his racquet at the floor and into his, well, areas. :rolleyes1 :scared1: :rotfl:
Whoops :rotfl2: at least you have all the kids you want, right :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: And have fun at the party!

So who does everyone want to win? Is there much rivalry? etc etc? Oh and I woke up this morning and said to David "So who won the Super Bowl then?" to which he replied that it was actually today....whoops :rotfl:

Our Sunday's seem to get lazier and lazier, we didn't get up until about 9.30am and then by the time we've all had brekkie and got dressed it was about 11 :eek::rotfl2: Ellie thenplayed with friends this afternoon whilst Jess and D played golf and I caddied!

Oh Jessica's party last night, which was for 13 and 14 year olds had several drunk kids at :eek: Jess got quite scared seeing people falling over and throwing up so in a way it has scared her off wanting to drink :thumbsup2 I feel sorry for the parents that organised the party though as there was no alcohol at the party and once the kids are there they can't send them away as they're still too young, very difficult situation to be in and there is no way that I'll be allowing my kids to have big parties now!!!

Slept in, took the dog out, made breakfast... ;) Sorry. :rotfl:

I guess you are forgiven;)

I decided to go ahead and go to the game party at our friend's, for a while, anyway. But now I have to go to the grocery store for some stuff to take. :rotfl2:

We are having alittle get together here. Nothing much. I am cooking the chili and some picky stuff and some beer. Us and our neighbors decided since we are snowed in, we might as well be snowed in together:thumbsup2

Hey question CE, how close are you to Boston?

I would have thought that the city would be better at snow removal or is this just way more than you usually get? Will you have to work tomorrow?

I will, still not sure about schools yet though, they haven't made any announcements yet. If the boys are off, I will just take a vacation day.;)

That's exactly what I have too. :thumbsup2

Great minds think alike!:woohoo:

Whoops :rotfl2: at least you have all the kids you want, right :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

In out case, we don't care. We like to watch the commercials and The Who (well at least Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry) are performing at half time. If the Eagles were in it would be a bigger thing here.

Did they call the kids parents? I would have:mad: and if it was my kid I would have wanted to be called. Good girl Jess:thumbsup2

++++++++++++++++++++

I just uploaded some more snow pictures. I will put them in the next post.

I cleaned my bathroom and am doing laundry. Isnt' that an exciting update:rolleyes1

Look how dark it was and it was only 3:30 or so in the afternoon:eek:

I've always heard they do special adverts and things!

Did they call the kids parents? I would have:mad: and if it was my kid I would have wanted to be called. Good girl Jess:thumbsup2
They wouldn't have had their numbers, there were about 100 kids there :eek:

OMG how cold must that have been :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Poor D. I'm glad he's not angry.

It wasn't so much that I was worried about him getting angry (he's not exactly scary, even when he is ;)) but just that it would be a "bad mood" kind of night. It wasn't - he just feels stupid. :rotfl2:

[/QUOTE]

Or a Friday, Tuesday is just daft!!!

::yes::

Whoops :rotfl2: at least you have all the kids you want, right :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: And have fun at the party!

Yep, we're set. :lmao: And thanks!

So who does everyone want to win? Is there much rivalry? etc etc?

As Janet says, it is usually a much bigger deal for us if one of "our" teams is in - and I think that goes for about anyone. If your team is in, you feel strongly, otherwise, you just hope for a well-played game. :thumbsup2

I love college football, but really don't have a team that I love for the pros - never have. Living around here, it's pretty easy to get caught up in the Patriot stuff, but they didn't do so well this year. ;) However, I'm not a die hard fan for them at all. D still loves the Chicago team, but it was never mine, either. :confused3

Sorry, Angela - but today I would like to see New Orleans win, since they've not ever even been. Plus, (again, sorry) I'm tired of the Colts. :rotfl2:

Oh Jessica's party last night, which was for 13 and 14 year olds had several drunk kids at :eek: Jess got quite scared seeing people falling over and throwing up so in a way it has scared her off wanting to drink

Yikes, :scared1: but yes, it might be good for her to see how stupid you look when you overdo it. ;) Cool, not so much.

Hey question CE, how close are you to Boston?

It takes about an hour to drive in - it's only 40 miles or whatever. We used to go all the time when D's brother still lived here, but we don't go much anymore. :confused: D's company hq's are in Boston, but he flies out of a smaller airport a little closer to our house. Lots of people around here drive in every day.

Why, you coming to see me? :)

Look how dark it was and it was only 3:30 or so in the afternoon:eek:

Wow. Is it just because there's so much snow that the cars are OK on the streets? Around here, you can't park on the streets during a "snow event" - they worry about the plows damaging vehicles and such. Of course, with that much snow, they'd be hard pressed to tow you... :eek:

*************************************************
Homework's done. I've said that we'll go grocery shopping (oh, joy) in about an hour, because there are some other things to get besides what we're taking to the party, so I'll want to bring them home before we go. That should give us plenty of time to come back home and chill a little more before we need to leave - they live maybe 5 minutes away. :thumbsup2

Janet - I can't believe all the snow you have been getting this winter. We've had barely any at all. Not that I am complaining!

Jo - Jess is a good girl. If I were those parents I would have called the kids parents and had them come drag their kids home. :mad:

Kristel - I've been thinking about you and Doug. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Howdy! I am here for my bi-weekly check-in. :guilty: :laughing:
Some friends have been talking about going to Vegas in May once school lets out so I am super excited about that! Viva Las Vegas! :woohoo:
I have been super busy with school and work. I have a Sociology paper due tomorrow and so far I have written half a page. :rolleyes: It should be a simple paper to write but ugh it is a pain. I am writing about Karl Marx with a short biography and then I have to outline his major theories and accomplishments.
The past couple weeks I have been working on a group project for my Health Care in Canada course. We had to research the health systems in various other countries and then do a presentation for the class. You may have seen my post on Facebook about this, it has been a major pain!
Overall my group was pretty good but they seem to have appointed me the group leader, I don't remember volunteering? :confused3 We had to fill out anonymous peer evaluation sheets reporting if there was somebody in the group who did not do their share of the work and how much of the group mark you think they should receive. Well there was one woman who did not show up to 2 out of 4 group meetings. She was there when we arranged the times for the meetings (a week in advance) and she did not say anything about not being able to go and she also did not approach anybody in the group before the meetings to say she couldn't be there, she just didn't show. I had to approach her after the meetings to tell her what we discussed, she didn't make any effort to find out what had been accomplished in the meetings.
In addition to the presentation we also had to provide the professor with an outline detailing all our main points and this woman said that she would type it up. I was nervous about letting her do it but she volunteered so I figured she knew what she was doing and that she had the time to do it. I asked her to e-mail me the final copy so that I could look over it and make sure everything was okay. Well she did not e-mail it to me until 30 minutes before it was due! Not only that but it was a complete mess! All she had done was copy and paste our powerpoint presentation into a Word document. She didn't even rearrange everything so that it would be in a proper outline format. The reference page was also a mess. So in 15 minutes I basically had to do a rush-job on fixing it. I was steaming mad! Why would she say she would do the outline if she didn't know how/didn't have the time! :mad:
Her excuses were that she had pre-existing appointments dealing with her kids and that is why she missed the meetings and e-mailed the outline so late. Well I can understand that her kids are her number one priority but she should not have taken on the outline if she didn't have the time and if she knew about these appointments in advance why did she not tell anybody that she could not make the meetings?! Am I wrong?
Needless to say when I filled out the peer evaluation I marked her below the rest. I said that she should only receive 80% of what the groups final mark is. I feel a bit guilty about that as I hate to be responsible for somebody receiving a bad mark. She did do her share of the research and she did do the outline, it just wasn't any good. Do you think I was too harsh?
OMG how cold must that have been :rotfl2:
He said he wasn't cold:confused3
Maybe;) Actually we are looking at maybe a long weekend:confused3 Trying to decide if there would be enough to do with Jimmy, KWIM?
You can't park on Snow Emergancy routes, but our street isnot one. If you don't park on the street, then the plows block you in and you wouldn't get out until May:scared1:
I'm moving to Canada:rolleyes1
Absolutely you were not too harsh, and you gave her a better grade than I would have after all that!
Hi Fockers!
How is everyone this fine Sunday?!?!
Lessa: Yay to Vegas!!! I've been dying to go with friends too.
No you were not too harsh on the peer eval.
Well just a quick run-by, I was over on the DVC rent/trade board to see if there was anything good over there. Sadly not much.
I'm here just waiting for the football game to start! :cheer2:
I was supposed to go out with some friends, but they bailed. Same as my co-worker who was supposed to throw a super bowl part with me. :sad2:
Not much from me, although we are enjoying the cooler weather thanks to all the cold up north.
Janet and all the northerners stay warm!
She did do her share of the research and she did do the outline, it just wasn't any good. Do you think I was too harsh?
Nope. Sounds very fair to me. It's not like you're going to get a D and therefore she'll fail. ;)
Oops, did I not quote Janet? Well...
The zoo is nice, and the Children's Museum and Science Museums are really good (as is the Art Museum, but the kids aren't so into that.) :thumbsup2 It's an easy city to walk around/get around, but there's nothing "big" to do if you're not so much into history. ;) It's fun to walk around downtown and in the North End - and in Cambridge - but it's not anything my kids really are into yet - "Look here's Paul Revere's house!"
"Who?"
:rotfl2:
I like it, though. ;) The Common is fun to run around on, too. ::yes::
And heck, you could see us! :goodvibes
See we don't have collage/university teams here, it's all so different. There again we hardly have any American football teams either :rotfl2:
Am I wrong?
Definitely not, that's the point of the anonomous evaluations, I'm sure you're not the only one to say that!
I was over on the DVC rent/trade board to see if there was anything good over there. Sadly not much.
What are you looking for?
Did I tell you I got invited to a Super Bowl party near Chicago? It was from my Mom friend Kay who is so sweet, she said we could stay at her house too, if only we could have!!!
Oh Jess beat David at golf and she wanted her reward to be that she didn't have to have brocolli with our roast :rotfl2:
Hi Fockers!
I'm with Leesa and doing a bi-weekly, maybe even monthly :confused3 , check in.
School and the kids have been keeping me extrelemely busy.
School is going good this quarter and all tests taken so far have been A's. I register for Spring Quarter next week and I'm so hoping all of this course work will let up. I doubt it though since one of the classes I have to take is dealing with medical coding and transcription and it is not looking like it will be fun at all. I will be able to start going into doctor's offices though and doing some internship things though so that's exciting. :thumbsup2
The kids are doing well. They have both been sick these past two weeks though and both have double ear infections going on right now. They want to go out in the snow and play but I keep telling them no. :( I know, mean mama, but I don't want them sick again.
We got snow as well, not as much as Janet, but it had to have been a good 8-10". Some places got a lot more though. Our power went out yesterday and the kids and I had to spend the night in a hotel. They had fun swimming in the indoor pool. :laughing: We're home now though and getting things ready for the Super Bowl. We are supposed to be having a party but I don't know if people are coming or not. I couldn't care one way or the other, we'll have a ton of food left over though. :rotfl:
So, that's about it with me. Hope everyone else is doing good and that I can make it on a little more. I think once these stupid drug sheets I need to do for Medical Assisting is done with that will free up some of my time. That and Accounting. I have a packet left to do for that class and then I'll be done early. :woohoo:
Ok, gotta get back to cleaning and laundry. Hope y'all have a good Sunday!
And heck, you could see us! :goodvibes
Yup, Jimmy misses his cousins;)
Hi Fockers!
:wave2:
Did I tell you I got invited to a Super Bowl party near Chicago? It was from my Mom friend Kay who is so sweet, she said we could stay at her house too, if only we could have!!!
You are welcome in Philadelphia anytime. Although the girls would have to sleep in sleeping bags on the floor:rotfl2:
Hi Fockers!
:wave: Glad school is going well!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Boys went out sledding. Were there for about 2.5 hours :faint:/ Then they came home, built a snowman, and now they are playing in the backyard. Me, I too a shower, am doing laundry and am getting ready to make the cord bread top for the chili!
What are you looking for?
March time. The discount being offered to FL residents by Disney for when I want to go is crap, so if I'm gonna pay almost $300 for a Value or moderate I might as well try to get a DVC. The outside Orlando hotels are pretty pricey too and most are full already. :eek: So...I figure if the parks are crowded it would be nice to go back to the resort and actually enjoy it. We'll see.
Awesome! Yeah I don't think there were that many super bowl house parties going on today, usually people at work are inviting everyone to theirs and that didn't happen this year. Since the super bowl is here in Miami I think a lot of people actually went out to bars and stuff. My cousin lives on South Beach and she said it took her 2 hours to get to her house because of the traffic.
Jo said:
Yay Jess! :cheer2:
Hi Fockers!
Hey Lori...I'm with you and Lessa on checking in.
Congrats w/ school going so well and stay warm!
It is official, schools closed tomorrow! Now, to take a vacation day or not:rolleyes1
::yes::
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just a quick check-in during half time.

TTYL! :hippie:

Hello Snow-Fockers and Non-Snow-Fockers!

I skimmed. I know, the horror! I've been keeping up with the game on the computer. No live stream just a blog on CBS.

JANET those pictures are great! Makes our 7" look pretty feeble. I did have to get rid of a 2' drift in front of my garage. That makes me feel a bit better.

CE those notes are way more revealing than I thought they'd be. I can understand Deb's disappointment. Wow, what a thing to find out.

LESSA, thanks for thinking of us. I know you've been super busy. Keep those grades up. Oh and I wouldn't have given that team member that high of a grade! Maybe 50%. I guess I'm mean like that.

JO are you playing golf for money??? I am shocked. J/K I'm glad you did well! You seem to be the 'come-back kid'. I am so sorry that Jess had to see all that foolishness at that party. Sounds like she is a smart kid. I hope she always does the right thing.

LORI it's good to hear from you. I'm sorry about your little sickies. I figured you got the snow too.

Z it's too bad all your buds canceled out on you. What's up with that? My bro was going to have a SB party but couldn't get enough people to come. Oh well.

T you gotta do what ya gotta do! You mominators always figure things out!

KAT I hope you had a good time. Tell us all about it!!!!!

I don't have any real news. Doug is just a tad better than he was. No huge miraculous turn around. At least he doesn't seem to be getting any worse. I'll take that if nothing else.

I've also been watching the SB ads on hulu. I guess they are posting them after they run.

Oh yeah, we did get Doug's disability check finally. Woo hoo! Gotta go to da bank tomorrow.

See ya'll later!

Hey, guys!

We went over to our friend's and hung out not even until half - Buzz was sleepy. I recorded the game here, because I knew I'd be missing some stuff - ads, mostly - and so now I'm sitting here watching the recorded version, skipping the game and catching the ads, just stopping for scores.

And, we did a "pick a square" pool and I got a call just after getting home that I won the second quarter draw! :thumbsup2 We did a buck a square, and I picked 10 squares, then we were paying out $20 for each of the first three quarters and $40 for the end. So far, I'm up $10 and could still win the last two, possibly. Yay, me!

D did call just after we got home, too, and he made it fine. He says he still has a bit of a lump on his eyebrow, but is otherwise OK. :thumbsup2

Not even a question, I already called out;)

Where did he go:confused3

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, I called out of work for tomorrow. You all didn't really think I would go did you:lmao: Seriously, our street looks like an ice rink right now:sad2:

Superbowl was good, if you like football. Sorry to the Colts fans:hug: I add too favorite commercials. The Budweiser commercial with the Orca Whale and the VW commercial with Stevie Wonder:rotfl2:

Off to get Jimmy into bed and then I am heading there myself. Have a good night all. See you all tomorrow:goodvibes

Nice wins, CE & Janet.:thumbsup2

Sadly we didn't win any pools. Andy's good friend won the 2nd ($400) and the final ($600). Sucka! :headache::lmao:

It's been an exhausting day... I cooked, then I cleaned, then I cooked, then I cleaned, then I baked and I cleaned. My fingernails are all soft and bendy right about now. :sad2:

I've got the nephews here, so my kids are all crazy-wired. Still debating DLR tomorrow - I'd sure like to tackle the office. It needs straightening something awful.

Anyway, have a good night! :hippie:

School is going good this quarter and all tests taken so far have been A's.
Fantastic and it sounds as though the kids loved the power cut :rotfl2:

Oh I hate that!!!

It's snowing :faint: t's very wet though so doubt it'll stick!

Last night was funny, when I went up to bed I saw that Boo was sat on the end of my bed, I did a few bits and when I went to get her to put her downstairs she had disappeared. Half an hour of searching later and with David being pathetic and thinking she'd got stuck somewhere I found her. She was in Ellie's duvet cover, actually inside it where the duvet goes. I only found her the second time, she is getting very sneeky and obviously doesn't want to be locked in the kitchen every night as she didn't make any noise whatsoever and even when we shook her food she stayed put.....little devil :rotfl2:

We went to the mall today and I bought a new handbag, trouble is it's way smaller than my old one and I can't fit everything in :rotfl2:
