I think CE should be the OFFICIAL TFW MODERATOR!!!!:rotfl2:We promise to be GOOD ;)

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: Who knew it was so easy?! ;)

Not me! :rotfl:

OMG, how frustrating. :sad2:

Yeah, well... More below. :(

I really, really need school to get better for him; the poor kid has had a horrible introduction so far. :guilty:

Oh, good grief. I'd be livid. I'm pro teacher almost all the time, and I know everyone makes mistakes, but that is SO unacceptable...

Ok.....now I don't know what to say....or how to say it....what if CE doesn't agree with what I say??.........she has the power to <<gasp>> STOP threads....I think......so I think in all fairness, we should all suck up to her.....can I say suck??.....take that back!........anyway, she's had a crappy week anyway......so..... ...., with my superpowers, I would like to proclaim this day as:::

.....drum rolls in the distance.............................

International CE Day

Let the sucking up....I mean "celebrations" begin!!! :lmao:;)

Thanks, TE. I needed that. :goodvibes :rotfl:

**********************************************
I did perform my first moderator duty this morning (with no instructions, mind you ) - I saw on the TR board something that clearly belonged on the community board, so I moved it. :rotfl2:

Well, there's good news and awful news. The good news is that Deb didn't have to make a decision after all - the awful part is that her mom did pass away on her own last night. :sad1: :sad1:

D got a call whilst we were in the last 10 minutes or so of tennis, so I've not talked to her nor know many details (she's not answering the phone since I've gotten home), but they got a call after midnight - don't know if it was "Get down here now" or "it's too late." :sad2:

They had no intention of doing any services here, as she was so new to the area - figured if people had to travel, they might as well go to Seattle where at least some friends and family are. But, the stepsiblings and maybe one friend were or are already on the way, so apparently we'll probably do an informal wake/get-together at the house tomorrow.

I just can't believe how fast this was. But, it's probably better for Deb to not have to actually sign that paper, you know?

Anyway, I may be spotty around here for the next few days - or I may just be around as there's so much family coming and nothing like a funeral happening. We'll see.

Thanks again for all your love. :grouphug:

Although if I vented all that went on at Christmas, I wouldn't want to hear from me. ;)
You know you can tell us and anyway if we don't want to read we can just skip it :rolleyes1:rotfl2: So did you have fun volunteering?

Well my Day Offtarted with a phoine call at 6:30 am:eek:Staffing issue Got that taken care of but of course am wide awake !!!:rotfl2: Then I realised I didn't finish the allowances for the consumers sooooo in order to avoid a mutiny ( like on the bountiny:rotfl2:) I had better go in at some point and do that!!!:scared1:
I think you need another day off Rosie!

BTW, the date night comment was from Kat, not me..I must have not erased it:confused3
Well then I think you need to go on one anyway :rotfl2:

I got a response from the teacher yesterday... she made a mistake. A MISTAKE. He's not falling behind, he's improved greatly, and he's in no danger of being held back.
OMG that's outrageous!!!!! I can't believe she could make a mistake like that :sad2:

Ok.....now I don't know what to say....or how to say it....what if CE doesn't agree with what I say??.........she has the power to <<gasp>> STOP threads....I think......so I think in all fairness, we should all suck up to her.....can I say suck??.....take that back!........anyway, she's had a crappy week anyway......so..... ...., with my superpowers, I would like to proclaim this day as:::

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: and are we allowed to say crap!!!! :rotfl2:

Well, there's good news and awful news. The good news is that Deb didn't have to make a decision after all - the awful part is that her mom did pass away on her own last night. :sad1: :sad1:
Oh I'm so sorry :hug::hug::hug:

Well the film, It's Compicated, was really funny. There were a few hilarious bits but definitely not for youngsters :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: and are we allowed to say crap!!!! :rotfl2:

Still don't know... ;) but you can here, because I can't do anything. :lmao:

Oh I'm so sorry :hug::hug::hug:

Thank you. I did just talk to her. She's grateful she didn't have to decide, and she's not fully absorbing the total loss yet - the circumstances were so awful, but the actual "Mom's gone" she knows hasn't yet set in. :guilty:

Well the film, It's Compicated, was really funny. There were a few hilarious bits but definitely not for youngsters :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good to know!

So, my latest school drama... Wed. Leo comes home with a Mid-Term Report from his teacher. It says he's got nothing less than Satisfactory in any subject (they use Excellent, Very Good, Satisfactory, Not Satisfactory, Unacceptable as grades), and an E in writing and V in math, specifically. At the same time, it says he's "below expectations" in writing and math and is "in danger of being retained in grade 2."

WHAT?!?! :scared1:

I dashed off a note asking how that can be, and how to get him help if he's so far behind. I also read Leo the riot act about working hard in school, since I see first-hand each night that he's capable of the work, and punished him by taking away his new DS and Lego set, and no TV until his performance improves. He sobbed in his room for half an hour.

I got a response from the teacher yesterday... she made a mistake. A MISTAKE. He's not falling behind, he's improved greatly, and he's in no danger of being held back.

O. M. G. That's a heckuva mistake lady. I apologized profusely to poor Leo, gave back his things and tried to explain how his teacher made a mistake and that, though school performance is still very important, I'll always check things out thoroughly before punishing for bad grades in the future... all while trying not to make his teacher sound like an idiot.

I really, really need school to get better for him; the poor kid has had a horrible introduction so far. :guilty:

I showed your post to Jim and he said :scared1:. That's a heck of a mistake to make. Except he didn't say heck, but if I say the word he used CE will ban me;)

Anyway, this weekend we need to bring Leo's old play kitchen and Mac stroller to the consignment store. Beyond that, we're just going to r e l a x.

Do find you do well selling things through consignment. I have all of Jimmy's stuff (stoller, pack n play, etc) but I've been leery of trying.

Oooh...the powerprincess:

Well, there's good news and awful news. The good news is that Deb didn't have to make a decision after all - the awful part is that her mom did pass away on her own last night.

So sorry CE. Send Deb a  from all of us!

Jo - I thought I quoted -. Glad you liked the movie.

I showed your post to Jim and he said :scared1:. That's a heck of a mistake to make. Except he didn't say heck, but if I say the word he used CE will ban me;)
:rotfl2: You should have heard some of the choice words coming out of my mouth when I read that last night!
Do find you do well selling things through consignment. I have all of Jimmy's stuff (stoller, pack n play, etc) but I've been leery of trying.
Sort of. The shop I go to isn't really a consignment; they buy stuff outright. Truthfully, I get more in $$$ terms from donating to Goodwill and taking the tax deduction, so that's what I do with most everything. But Goodwill won't take strollers and the Mac is like new - that baby was too expensive to just toss in the trash!

ETA: Just called the shop to see when they open... they won't take my Mac! Because they were recalled. Yes, even though I have the company-sent fix to the problem. Wow - there's a $100+ stroller that's likely gonna wind up in the trash.

CE - Wow. I don't even have words, just these - :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Can you donate it to a daycare or something that cares for infants?

 I truly have no special powers anywhere but on the TR boards. There, I'm unlimited... :darth: BWAHAHA. :rotfl2:

Sorry, this is all just a little surreal to me, too. :confused3

Thank you.

That's really sad. I'd check into Janet's idea. :thumbsup2

CE - Wow. I don't even have words, just these - :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

Thanks. I just can't get over the fact that 3 weeks ago, they figured it was pneumonia or an infection, and today she's gone. :sad2:

As much as I'm just totally heartbroken for Deb, I'm sad for myself, too - I really liked her so much. She was a neat person.

****************************************************
I finally got back up off the couch (I did do a lot of running in tennis, so I don't feel too bad about it :lmao:) and went out and got a library book for a project Buzz has to do, dropped the ski club passes back at the school, mailed the last piece of Dr. Belle's Christmas present (which, yes, I've had since 12/12  - there's a good reason I like online shopping, as then I'm not in charge of mailing) and then went off to the grocery store. I bought plenty of wine. So there. ;)

Happy CE day!

so....how do you know what to moderate??

So Jo----good movie overall? I thought it looked funny on the trailers and I love Meryl Streep (don't think I spelled that right)

thought for the day--- teens without cars drive you nuts....or at least mine is.

Can you donate it to a daycare or something that cares for infants?

Nope - I called around and NO ONE wants it because no one wants the liability of accepting something that was recalled. The irony of the fact that millions of people are without practically anything in poor Haiti, and I can't GIVE away a like-new stroller here because people are so terrified of lawsuits is not lost on me. We're so screwed up. :sad2:

Happy CE day!

Yes. Just the PTR's and TR's. Mostly just meant to encourage newbies and close out dead threads - according to OhMari's first little message. :thumbsup2

I imagine my parents would agree. ;)

OMG a monster has been unleashed :rotfl2:

It was good and I think you spelt her name right, some of the film was very funny, it's a 15 here but I doubt Ab would want to watch it if you were there as lots was sex based, very funny though :rotfl2:

Yes. Just the PTR's and TR's. Mostly just meant to encourage newbies and close out dead threads - according to OhMari's first little message. :thumbsup2
How about telling people off for chatting too much? I can remember when threads were closed for that!!!!

My gripe for the day is I can't believe how expensive Cadburys chocolate is getting :faint: I know very important ;) but a few months ago a 200g bar was £1.25 and now it's £1.84  I can't cut down though so need to find a job :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I couldn't believe the price of tortilla chips today. I don't know if I've not been paying attention or if they've gone up, but really...

Question for our favourite European:
If you were going to fly to Italy, what airlines would you go look at?

That research paper that Dr. Belle has me listed as a co-author for was accepted to the Milan conference. I don't really know if that means we can go, but IF...

Ooh, whatcha doing? And I will definitely be wine shopping today. It's the weekend now. ;)
I volunteered at A gift For Teaching where the teachers "shop" for free. My friend works there so I filed papers for her and then we went to lunch. :thumbsup2 We also went to Whole Foods and I bought wine :goodvibes which is more expensive there than at Total Wine.

the weather is gonna be so nice tomorrow (almost 50:yay:) we are going to head to the zoo.
My sister made a photo book for Reid's second year, and at 2 1/2 he's already been to 4 different zoos. ;)

I got a response from the teacher yesterday... she made a mistake. A MISTAKE. He's not falling behind, he's improved greatly, and he's in no danger of being held back.

We need some lighter drama on our thread too! :rotfl:

Awesome! :woohoo: I need to know too because I hope to meet Mitch in Italy when he has his R & R from Kosovo. Or Germany. Anyone know a good airline to fly there?

Hey kids!
This will be a quicky!

JO will work for Cadbury!

DAWN's puppies don't like their new militant life style.

PIONEER ROSIE??!!

CE is a mod - congrats!
Give my condolences to your friend and her family.

ANGELA- No offense to straight or gay males but if Mitch isn't into young buff studs and fashion, go for Outdoor Life or Hunting Today or fitness mags. Just sayin'!:rolleyes1

T- I hope you get the bugs on the computer worked out!

V- Poor Leo, Bad teacher! Congrats on Leo's grades!

TE- I don't know when it was but
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

###########################################################

We still have not heard from the doctor on Doug's results. Turns out they were trying to call him on his old cell #. He gave them the new one last week - go figure. I suspect he will be getting a call in a few.

I have to work OT tonight and then my regular shifts through Tue. I felt like poop yesterday and accomplished nothing.

Talk at you all when I can!

Hugs!

Everything is just getting expensive. That is why we are really cutting back and looking to save money. I don't want to not be able to take Jimmy to the zoo becasue we have to pay the electric bill, KWIM?

I guess it's not been as much of a problem lately. :confused3

That's becasue we are all here:lmao:

Wow, I wish they had that here. Jim spends WAY more than the $250 alloted each year.

My sister made a photo book for Reid's second year, and at 2 1/2 he's already been to 4 different zoos. ;)

We got Jimmy "his" first zoo membership for his 1st birthday:rolleyes1

I know it's regular "pizza and movie" night, but I felt like something else, so we went out for Indian food. :lovestruc Sadly, the kitchen was terribly slow, but everything was great and I am happy. :thumbsup2 Also, now, we've said it's too late for a movie, so we're going to watch one DVD special short (the one from Up) and then the kids will go to bed. What a shame. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Seriously, they are SO tired from last night, they need to go to bed. And I need my wine... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Oh CE, I'm so sorry about Deb's mom. That's so tragic! :guilty: I hope they all find peace knowing she didn't suffer.

************************************************************

Not much going on here. I had a bunch of errands to run this morning and then I kinda vegged around playing my DSi and reading. My kids have been driving me insane with wanting McD's because of the darn Alvin toys, so Andy headed there to grab some dinner. We'll probably watch a movie and head to bed. It's been a tiring week.

OMG! We watched The Blind Side on Andy's iTouch on the plane and I have to say what a heart warming story! I loved it! :cloud9:

Tomorrow our Brownie troop is heading to our annual "Cookie Kick-Off!". They'll be able to sample all the cookies, make crafts, and get lots of free goodies from different local places wanting our hard earned cookie "dough". ;) Cookie sales start next Saturday. :worship:

Hope everyone has a great weekend! :hippie:

Oh CE, I'm so sorry about Deb's mom. That's so tragic! :guilty: I hope they all find peace knowing she didn't suffer.

She seemed OK this afternoon, but she also fully admitted that she wasn't functioning normally. I think it does help that it didn't drag on, nor Deb having to make the call.

I ordered from our neighbor this evening! :cool1:
