Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

I'm gonna copy and paste this to my Word trip planner. Ab is in French III at school---she can conjugate many words but doesn't seem to speak much...so it may be interesting! She has had to memorize the Metro stops for some reason so that might be helpful! I need to start getting in shape---I saw someone on Tripadvisor write that you have to walk a lot in Paris and Americans were all dying!

We will be in Western Germany--near border--Trier, Koln (Cologne??) area. Daran stayed there for several months at a time about 10 years ago and has really wanted to go back and see it. It looks rural on the net with big castles (real ones!).

Cool! On the tour back in the day, we drove on a tour bus from Paris to Lake Geneva, Switzerland, got on a train for a while through "Heidi country," then to Innsbruck, then to Munich (going through Lichtenstein!) which was all just gorgeous.

If they go, yes. I thought it would be instead of Kosovo, but it's in addition.

Sheesh, but I know they desperately need help. :(

All this talk of foreign travel makes me want to go somewhere. :cool2:

Me, too. I guess Milan isn't the most lovely of Italian cities, but we could go elsewhere from there... :rolleyes1

Stop talking about France and Germany, you need to visit the UK, OK!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Sorry, I should have explained better. It's mostly for teachers at low income schools, but any teacher can go and shop for things the kids don't have money to get themselves. Along with all school supplies there is underwear, socks and little "prizes" that the teachers can give out. A group from Universal was there with me yesterday and they were stocking Shamu picture frames, water bottles and little girls purses. I am going to donate my ticket. The other options seemed a little lame.
How nice :thumbsup2

I also have to write out the invitations for the vow renewal/5th anniv party because WE FOUND A RESTAURANT FOR BRUNCH! It was so hard to find a place to take a party of 18 without it being an arm and a leg and a special menu only large parties can choose from. We made the ressie at a cute little french spot downtown in NYC with an awesome brunch menu and most of them were between $10 and $ 15 a plate! So the ceremony is officially in Central Park and then we will head to the french spot. I am happy the plans are coming together.
Fantastic :thumbsup2

It was nice, we drank a LOT of wine, and it was just kind of low-key and lovely with some tears and lots of laughter. :thumbsup2
Sounds lovely and just what everyone needed :goodvibes

So, I extended our March trip last week and this week I upgraded our hotel from POR to the Poly. :yay:
It's been a dream of mine to stay there and I'm so super excited!!!
Wow, fantastic :goodvibes and have fun watching B :thumbsup2

They SAY it's enough for 2 free tix to London--is that right Jo?? Never flown BA.
I have no idea :rotfl2: I used airmiles for my Orlando flight with BA and needed 6500 but different companies have different rules!

It looks rural on the net with big castles (real ones!).
Instead of fake ones? :rotfl2:

Went shopping this morning and I'm about to look 10 years younger, well in 6 weeks time :rolleyes1 I splashed out on some miracle face cream so we'll see :rotfl2: The girls also spent some of their Christmas money on some new shoes, bag and tops. We've then had a relaxing afternoon followed by a nice walk, well D and I anyway. Ellie was at her friends and Jess was baking, yes again :faint: I did make her do some sit ups before I allowed her in the kitchen though :rotfl2:

Miss TR Moderator, if you come across any good TR's or ones that need more readers let me know please :thumbsup2

OK. :) The funniest part about this is that I'd pretty much quit reading TR's except for my Fockers. :rotfl:

I just commented on a marathon one that could be interesting if anyone's into running - she's got a lot of training info and so forth.

I like that you made J do sit ups before baking. :rotfl2:

Absolutely! I've got a lot of free time on my hands. :rolleyes1 Laundry takes no time at all when it's only my clothes and none need to be ironed. No, I don't iron t-shirts. ;)

Jo, Jess and I may need to share recipes. :thumbsup2 I'd love to go to the UK, but Mitch has to worry about that Army business whilst he's abroad. ;)

CE, at least you'd be in Milan. :goodvibes

Is that Sandy123 (or something like that?) and it did cross my mind that you weren't really reading TR's anymore :rotfl2: I've just started again since quitting the panel, I've also read 2 books in the last week :thumbsup2 And Jess only managed 40 when I said 100 :sad2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Jess got 2 new cook books for Christmas. The new Nigella Lawson one and a baking one from Marks & Spencer. The thing with sharing is all our recipes are in ounces or grams whereas yours are in cups :confused3 The last thing she made was OK but not great, not her fault but the recipes. The thing she's just making are ginger iced slices, except she doesn't like ginger so has subbed for orange so we'll see :rotfl2:

I thought you had the only warm place in the whole country!:rotfl:Actually this week the highs all have a 7 for the first number.
Natually it's nice and warm there NOW! :lmao:

:lmao: That was funny!
I had a misspelling, so you're comment disappeared when I deleted & corrected it, but I knew you'd appreciate it! :rotfl2:

Ahhh... the Poly.:cloud9:

Our first compeititon is this weekend. Baylie will dance her solo Friday night, but with about 40 girls in her category, we don't expect to medal. She's one of the youngest in her category this year, so we're mostly doing it for the experience. :thumbsup2 She's got an AWESOME costume and dance, though. Maybe I can post it on FB after this weekend.
Cool! :thumbsup2
D agreed last night to go take Buzz to the movie that is the party that Woody's heading for, rather than just dropping Woody off. I hate to not let Buzz see the movie, but I had no desire to go sit in a movie this afternoon. I don't know why - maybe it's just the movie. It looks funny, but I'm just not interested. :confused3
What movie?

When we go to DLP, we'll come visit you in UK. Will you make us some of that nasty pie? :teeth:

Top 10, eh? :lmao: LL's only got 1 post! :rotfl2:

**********************************************
Not much going on here. It's just a lazy Sunday morning for us. Not sure what we want to do, but we need to get out of the house. Evan wants to go see the Hollywood sign today, so we'll see. :confused3

Enjoy your Sunday! :hippie:

What movie?

The Spy Next Door. They are off and running. I would appreciate some home along time, but I'm going to head to the library here in a minute. The boys have a project due Thursday - make a hat based on a book by a specific author (they have different authors). Woody got a book by the author from the school library, but didn't bring it home for the weekend. Buzz never bothered, so I picked him up a book on Friday. Now I have to get one for Woody, as I'd like them to at least get started today.

I hate this type of project. My non-craftiness just shines - not that I'd do it for them, but I can't even imagine how to have them start making a hat, you know? (I mean, yes, we'll use cardboard and cover it with paper and drawings, but...) Sigh. :lmao:

Miss TR Moderator, if you come across any good TR's or ones that need more readers let me know please :thumbsup2

Yes I second that !!!You could start with mine !!:lmao:

We are having Laptop problems and are all sharing one !! Which happens to be Steph's who is not known for sharing graciously:lmao:So if I am not on much till mine or Sammi's are fixed that is why !!! I will post whenever I can

Have a great day !! I will be able to post from work tonite, but will be after Jo goes to bed !!!!:)

Kat - Plans sound great:goodvibes

CE - Glad you are able to be there for Deb:hug:

Jo - :snooty:

Hi Angela, T, Dawn, Rosie and anyone else I missed :wave2: Wonder where Denise has been:confused3

++++++++++++++++++++

An uneventful day here. Jim let me sleep until 10am:yay: Jimmy was up at 6:30:sad2: I went and did the grocery shopping and now Jim is straightening up the basement. I have to do laundry, but there isn't room for both of us to work in the basement so I will start that after he is done.

I have been watching The Incredibles with Jimmy, who has declared that it pajama day for him since it is raining and yucky out.

Tomorrow we are heading to his school for the day of service and then a side trip to Target. My Brother and SIL gave him Spoingebob Connect 4 for Christmas, but he already has it so we are going to return and let him pick something else out.

Hope everyone is having alovely Sunday.:goodvibes

Afternoon all!

Just hanging around today watching Season 4 of How I met Your Mother.

I'm reading a book called "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom"by Cory Doctrow...anyone read it?? It's sci fi like but it's really interesting, Magic Kingdom of the future. I have been breathing through books lately and I'll prob be done tonight (I started it yesterday). Anyone read Lindsay Sands??

Off to make some chicken wings for the weeks lunch!

When we go to DLP, we'll come visit you in UK. Will you make us some of that nasty pie? :teeth:
Oooh goodie and you mean pork pie???? I don't make them but I'll buy one for you :rotfl2:

Evan wants to go see the Hollywood sign today, so we'll see. :confused3
How far is that?!?!?

I think we need to see photos :rotfl2:

Afternoon all!

Hi!

I think we need to see photos :rotfl2:

OK. ;)

Watching a rerun of Glee and it's on early enough for the girls to watch :thumbsup2

Ooh, I :lovestruc Glee.

*************************************************
Well, I was just heading up to get ready to head for the library when D called - now he has a trip early tomorrow morning. :headache: That will be most interesting with the weather...

Plus, of course, we were going to ski. I don't know if we'll go if D isn't around. I don't ski as well as even the kids, so they'll want to do runs that I can't - particularly Woody. Plus, with the weather, I certainly won't want to get up by myself for an early morning all day trip. :rolleyes1 We'll see.

This trip apparently messes with the one he was previously scheduled on from Tues. - Thurs., so I am assuming that it means he's gone overnight at least - but then I don't know what the rest of the week will bring. I'm a little hopeful that if he's not doing the T-Th trip, he'll be able to do ski club again this week! :rotfl2:

Stop talking about France and Germany, you need to visit the UK, OK!!!!!! :rotfl2:

I'd love to go there!

How nice :thumbsup2

Instead of fake ones? :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Yep---you realize with a country only 250 years old, that we have limited castles here! So we get excited about the real and fake ones! ;)

Just wanted to post this for a certain Janet :rolleyes1

Are you saying that if they paid you by the hour you could retire:confused3;)

++++++++++

It's been a very lowkey day ---I love it!:thumbsup2 Jim is happy the Cowboys lost, Jimmy is building Lincoln Logs, and I am doing :laundy:.

Gotta go heat up the leftovers for dinner. Spaghetti and meatballs. HAve a good one all:goodvibes

I am pretty sure I am getting/am sick as I don't think it is normal to wake up and then fall down immediately after getting out of bed from dizziness. It hasn't improved much over the day either. I feel fine if lying down or sitting in a still position but if I move my head up down or sideways I feel like I am going to pass out. On top of that I woke up with a bloody nose. No other signs of illness though, weird huh?

I'm hoping that the dizziness is gone by the morning or getting to and from class tomorrow is going to be interesting.
