Jo- Will you come and iron for me? :banana:

Janet- DH is bringing Tink swimming, as I type. Funny! I hope Jimmy gets his hair dried, so it doesn't freeze, or give him the worst bed head ever with a hat on wet hair. :)

T- You are so lucky to even have the chance to go to DL on NYE. I wish I could. Is Andy's OT a good, or bad thing? Do you always get new jammies on vacay or just when you get to go away with your hubby?;)

----------------------------------------------------

We're having a major addiction to Super Mario Bros. in our house. Major. :laughing:But it's bringing out of me, sides of myself that I don't like. :headache: I want to beat this darn thing. :rotfl:

DH took Tink to swim at the pool, then to the Apple Store. His new phone didn't take to the syncing of his old phone very well. Mine worked fine and I am so in love the the new model. I feel that it's worlds different from my old phone.

Tomorrow DH is going to bring the kids skiing and I'm going to get myself out of the house and do some Christmas returns. Yea!

Is Andy's OT a good, or bad thing?
The OT is both good and bad. Sure the extra cheddar will be great for our trip, but we miss him and only get to see him for a short few hours at night. :guilty:

Do you always get new jammies on vacay or just when you get to go away with your hubby?;)

:rolleyes1 :lmao: :ssst:

You're like the 5th person I heard say that! Now I'm wanting to buy it! But I seriously don't need another addiction... it took me forever to get over LEGO Rockband and Animal Crossing! :laughing:
Tomorrow DH is going to bring the kids skiing and I'm going to get myself out of the house and do some Christmas returns. Yea!
Enjoy your time tomorrow! :goodvibes

Hi All!!

Geez the time just flies by!

I'm glad to hear everyone had a great xmas!

My bro and I went to Yani's house to spend xmas eve w/ her family. It was nice, but made me miss my family. We got home around midnight so my bro and I exchanged our gifts. :santa: Got to bed a little late only to wake up early to go to work. It was a steady day, but I was soo tired and passed out as soon as I got home.

I've been following along, just haven't quoted.

Denise: the quilt & baskets were amazing!
What did you think of Lost Symbol? I just finished it a couple weeks ago.

Janet: that is too cute leaving food out for the reindeer. I've never heard of that. On Jan 6th most latin countries have 3 Kings Day and we leave grass/hay out for the camels.

Did I miss something that you're having an open house....are you moving?

T: you haven't packed?!?!?! :faint:

Hope those of you that got sick, get better soon.

NYE, have no idea what I'm gonna do. I work 'til 7p and got invited to Yani's house and to another friend's house, so we'll.

Hi Everyone else I missed! :wave2:

I’m all over the place with books – although I think my favorites kinds of books are memoirs and biographies. Some of the stuff next to my bed currently: Ghosts by Noel Hynde (a GREAT old-fashioned ghost story), The Glass Castle, The Christmas Cookie Club (which I regretted buying at first, thinking it would probably be silly, but is a really good book), Against Medical Advice (by James Patterson), Her Fearful Symmetry, Once Upon a Time (a Grace Kelly bio), A Thread of Truth (a quilting novel). And, I just finished The Lost Symbol - the new Dan Brown. I have too many books and not enough time!
I really enjoyed The Glass Castle and love James Patterson but haven't read that one yet. The Lost Symbol is on my list from the library along with 100 other people, but I have a big TBR pile, so it's ok. I did get the Madeline Allbright book about her pins. It's a coffee table book so I might actually buy it and I love jewelry. :goodvibes

Still researching renting DVC points for March and watching movies and playing Super Mario Bros.
You have to be here too! :cool1:

I also only have 2 more questions to answer and I'll finish on a nice round 1200
:thumbsup2

I will be able tosay I'll be in Disne next month in a couple of days !!
:banana:

Enjoy yourself. :goodvibes

Mitch's employees got together for drinks after work yesterday to say goodbye to him. He's so uneasy with the attention. I told him he should feel good that people care enough to make an effort. We're supposed to go to St. Augustine today to get a new car sticker and ID for me. Not exactly exciting, but it will only be the two of us. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow Tennessee will be beating TE's VT team, ;) TE, hopefully, and Saturday Ole Miss plays Oklahoma so we'll go watch with the alum club.

Hi Angela!! You're up early. Glad to hear you had a good time at Mitch's get together. :hug:

You all were talking about movies earlier and forgot to mention it in my last post, but have any of you seen Julie & Julia? It is a such a nice movie. :thumbsup2 Nice girly movie if you have time. Merly Streep is amazing as always and OMG the food! Almost made me want to go out and buy the Joy of Cooking, but that went away when I told myself I hate cooking. :laughing: Anyway that's my movie recommendation. :)

Mel: I'm glad you liked the card :goodvibes I really do like making cards, but next year am not doing it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up at an ungodly hour unable to sleep. Ugh! I think all the thoughts in my head woke me. I wish I had a day off before NYE as I want to do so much before then, like find something to wear! :guilty:
Anyhoo, gonna take a mini nap before work...:upsidedow
Actually we are keeping it at about 15 people tops and asking everyone to pay for their own share of food in lieu of gifts. I just want people to spend the day with us that matter and have been there for us through everything, I could care less about gifts. Having my happy marriage again is gift enough.
Sounds like a good plan :thumbsup2
I will be able tosay I'll be in Disne next month in a couple of days !!:banana:
Woohoooooo
When does your commitment end?
Tomorrow :thumbsup2
I don't know why, but I need to have new jammies when I go on a trip. :confused3
Really ;) :rotfl2:
Jo- Will you come and iron for me? :banana:
If you'll pay for me to get there :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Have fun at the shops!
I'm sure you'll manage to get everything done :hug:
It's pouring again and we have snow forecast for tomorrow, thing is it's so wet I doubt it'll lay :sad2: I just picked Ells up from her sleepover where they went to sleep at 5am :eek: I'm looking forward to a lovely well behaved happy girl today :rolleyes1:rotfl2:
Holy cow, I had to go all over the place to find jeans for Evan. Apparently he wears a very popular size. :faint:
Dude, I tried to find a couple pair for Leo at Target on Sun... they had NONE in sizes 6 or 7! :sad2:
We're having a major addiction to Super Mario Bros. in our house. Major. :laughing:But it's bringing out of me, sides of myself that I don't like. :headache: I want to beat this darn thing.
:rotfl: Strangely enough, considering I like closure in all other areas of life, I'm an early quitter when it comes to video games. If I can't get past a screen within an hour, I'm out. I'm currently trapped in the firey room of death in Lego Indy. :rolleyes:
Tomorrow Tennessee will be beating TE's VT team, ;) TE, hopefully, and Saturday Ole Miss plays Oklahoma so we'll go watch with the alum club.
Two games I can get behind! :thumbsup2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ugh. Poor Leo is having zero fun at day care this week; apparently, he's the only one his age there and has spent the past 2 days playing by himself. He feigned an upset stomach last night, trying to stay home. :guilty:

Did I ever mention that I got myself a pair of Danskos for Xmas? Holy snakes, these things are ugly. But so, so very comfy, I don't even care how ugly they are, lol!

We got it, too, but I've not been addicted yet. I played with everyone once, but... I got so addicted to the Lego Indy & Star Wars, but I've not been playing much lately - D's been home too much! :rotfl:

The excitment is starting!! :cool1:

Pshew! I was getting really worried.

Did I miss something that you're having an open house....are you moving?

I think she means the party type, not the real estate type.

Mitch's employees got together for drinks after work yesterday to say goodbye to him. He's so uneasy with the attention. I told him he should feel good that people care enough to make an effort. The party sounds nice - I think it's a good thing, too - and then have fun with the games!

Almost made me want to go out and buy the Joy of Cooking, but that went away when I told myself I hate cooking. :laughing:

:rotfl:

I'm looking forward to a lovely well behaved happy girl today :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Good luck! ;)

Dude, I tried to find a couple pair for Leo at Target on Sun... they had NONE in sizes 6 or 7! :sad2:

Buzz is so freaking tall that I'm having to buy 10 slims - not easy to come by, either. Sigh. Woody's in 8's and those seem to be pretty OK.

:rotfl: Strangely enough, considering I like closure in all other areas of life, I'm an early quitter when it comes to video games. If I can't get past a screen within an hour, I'm out. I'm currently trapped in the firey room of death in Lego Indy. :rolleyes:

I gave up on the rotating columns and went across the bottom. ;)

Poor kiddo. :hug:

Did I ever mention that I got myself a pair of Danskos for Xmas? Holy snakes, these things are ugly. But so, so very comfy, I don't even care how ugly they are, lol!

I've heard nothing but good things about them. What color? popcorn::

********************************************************
Sorry, all, I've been reading along but not quoting. Having my folks is good, but makes me not feel good about sitting on the computer for long stretches of time.

Yesterday D & I did a fun tennis class, at which apparently D felt he sucked it up so bad he claims he's "done embarrassing myself" :rolleyes: and was in a horrible mood the rest of the day. Now, I didn't think he was bad at all, and this is silly, but whatever.

Fun, fun.

Anyway, afterward we went and drove around the lake - the ambient temp was 5 and the wind chill was -12, so we didn't get out of the car - and then had dinner at our favorite post-boating diner.

Today we've had a very lazy morning. D & Woody are going to ski in the afternoon - they are waiting for it to warm up. Buzz's best friend from last year called for a playdate. I hesitated with my folks in town, but it would have been another afternoon of just hanging around, wondering what to do. Last year, my dad went and watched people ski - I don't know if he's doing that today or not. We'll drop Buzz off and then I was thinking of doing some shopping with Mom. We'll see.

Still no real plans for tomorrow. :confused3 I hate to waste babysitters, but there aren't any parties or anything. Our closest friends do a party in their old neighborhood with people we don't really know.

Anyway, I need to get in the shower and stuff... Hope you all have a good day!

Shoes????? And poor Leo :hug:

I gave up on the rotating columns and went across the bottom. ;)
:rotfl2: I love that you're giving each other gaming advice :rotfl2:

Poor D, I'm sure he wasn't that bad and too bad you can't make use of your inhouse baby sitters!

I'm done :yay::yay::yay::yay:

I've heard nothing but good things about them. What color? popcorn::
Shoes?????
Yep, big, ugly shoes, lol! I got the Marcelles in Hickory:

marcelle_hickory_cabrio.jpg

They look like big ol' clubs on my feet. But seriously the most comfortable shoes I've EVER worn, including my old favorite Dr. Martins! :cloud9:

And poor Leo :hug:
Thanks, I have an update. :sad2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Turns out, Leo is sick - he's home now with an upset stomach and a 102.5* fever. :guilty: He's got 9 days to get rid of it.
Finally hit Target. Man, was I seduced by that darned Travel isle. Does it to me every, single time! :sad2: I did online check-in for BC and tomorrow I'll do SSR. The excitment is starting!! :cool1:
All kinds of stuff you didn’t know you needed, right! :rotfl2: I’m excited for you!!:banana:
Denise: the quilt & baskets were amazing!
What did you think of Lost Symbol? I just finished it a couple weeks ago.
Thank you! Lost Symbol, hmmm, it took me awhile to get through. I was really into it at first, then a few chapters in I thought it got bogged down. It seemed like he was going over the same thing – over and over again. Then somewhere past the middle, I thought it picked up the pace again. There were some “I didn’t see THAT coming” moments too. All in all, I liked it, but I liked Angels & Demons better. I hope they do a movie version though; I would love to see visuals of some of what went on in the book! Did you like it?
I really enjoyed The Glass Castle and love James Patterson but haven't read that one yet. The Lost Symbol is on my list from the library along with 100 other people, but I have a big TBR pile, so it's ok. I did get the Madeline Allbright book about her pins. It's a coffee table book so I might actually buy it and I love jewelry. :goodvibes
I’m glad to get a good review of Glass Castle! I heard the author on a talk show and was intrigued, so finally picked up the book. The James Patterson is very different for him - a non-fiction book – about a boy who is diagnosed with Tourette’s and OCD. I should really check out the library for books, because I’m definitely out of bookcase space and I don’t want someone to put me on an episode of “Hoarders”. The Madeline Allbright pin collection book sounds really neat!
You all were talking about movies earlier and forgot to mention it in my last post, but have any of you seen Julie & Julia? It is a such a nice movie. :thumbsup2 Nice girly movie if you have time. Merly Streep is amazing as always and OMG the food! Almost made me want to go out and buy the Joy of Cooking, but that went away when I told myself I hate cooking. :laughing: Anyway that's my movie recommendation. :)
I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! :love: I got the DVD for Christmas (It was so hard to wait and not buy it for myself). When we saw it n the theater, I came home and made Beef Bourguignon (and it was as good as it looked in the movie :laughing:). I loved the books too – both My Life in France and Julie Powell’s Julie & Julia – I’ve read them both twice and know I will read them again. :goodvibes
I just picked Ells up from her sleepover where they went to sleep at 5am :eek: I'm looking forward to a lovely well behaved happy girl today :rolleyes1:rotfl2:
Good luck with that!:rolleyes:
Ugh. Poor Leo is having zero fun at day care this week; apparently, he's the only one his age there and has spent the past 2 days playing by himself. He feigned an upset stomach last night, trying to stay home. :guilty:
Poor guy! :hug: I hope both have a great weekend!
Did I ever mention that I got myself a pair of Danskos for Xmas? Holy snakes, these things are ugly. But so, so very comfy, I don't even care how ugly they are, lol!
As I get older, I care less and less how my feet look (I used to be a high heel girl all the way, but not anymore). I love my Anywears (I call them Uglywears) clogs!!
Yep, big, ugly shoes, lol! I got the Marcelles in Hickory:
marcelle_hickory_cabrio.jpg
They look like big ol' clubs on my feet. But seriously the most comfortable shoes I've EVER worn, including my old favorite Dr. Martins! :cloud9:
Actually, in the picture they really don't look that bad (but maybe my fashion sense is getting skewed:rotfl2:)
Turns out, Leo is sick - he's home now with an upset stomach and a 102.5* fever. :guilty: He's got 9 days to get rid of it.
Oh no! :eek: I hope you don't catch it!
Poor D, I'm sure he wasn't that bad and too bad you can't make use of your inhouse baby sitters!
Well, that's what I thought - I could count my mistakes and not tell you any of his - I think that's how we all are, though. Then, I know he didn't sleep well last night, so I hope he's having a good time skiing and can come home in a better frame of mind.
Congratulations! :hug: :hug: :hug:
Oh, no! Poor babe. Poor mama. :hug:
*****************************************************
Well, my neighbor called and invited all of us (parents, kids, everyone) to their house tomorrow night for another block-ish party. :thumbsup2 Not exactly a romantic night out, but I'm glad to have plans. And, for my parents and the kids, being next door is ideal, as they can leave whenever.
I bought a lot of wine and stuff to do veggies and dip and the bruschetta I made for the playgroup dinner - we're not going over until after 7:00, and it's more snacks than any kind of dinner. It should be fun - I love my neighbors! :goodvibes
Mom & I dropped Buzz at his playdate and then went to the store. When we came home, we cleaned out my double layer cabinet with the two lazy susans, and that was good. Read the paper, ate some crisps (for you, Jo :goodvibes), and it's almost time to go get Buzz again. Not a bad day - a nice blend of laziness and actually accomplishing a few things. :thumbsup2 I'll make poppyseed chicken for dinner, trying to time it for D & Woody's return, so that will be one more thing that I did today, once I do it. :rotfl:
I guess it's time to go retrieve my kid, bbl! :grouphug:
Holy cow, I had to go all over the place to find jeans for Evan. Apparently he wears a very popular size. Finally found some at Kohl's. I did manage to grab myself a new top to wear at our Anniversary dinner at Bistro and some new jammies. I don't know why, but I need to have new jammies when I go on a trip.
I have been having a ahrad time finding them for Jimmy too. Size 7 must be popular:confused3
Janet- DH is bringing Tink swimming, as I type. Funny! I hope Jimmy gets his hair dried, so it doesn't freeze, or give him the worst bed head ever with a hat on wet hair.
You know I forgot to ask the after school teacher what he did with the hair drying thing!:lmao:
Tomorrow DH is going to bring the kids skiing and I'm going to get myself out of the house and do some Christmas returns. Yea!
I hope you had a good day!:goodvibes
Did I miss something that you're having an open house....are you moving?
God no! We are having a party for NY day. Just calling it an open house becasue people will come by, have a drink, a little something to eat and then head home. Nothing major!
Mitch's employees got together for drinks after work yesterday to say goodbye to him. He's so uneasy with the attention. I told him he should feel good that people care enough to make an effort. We're supposed to go to St. Augustine today to get a new car sticker and ID for me. Not exactly exciting, but it will only be the two of us. :thumbsup2 Tomorrow Tennessee will be beating TE's VT team,TE, hopefully, and Saturday Ole Miss plays Oklahoma so we'll go watch with the alum club.
That was really nice of them, but I am like Mitch...don't like to be the center of attention:hug:
Does he have an actual date at this point? I forget:confused3
It's pouring again and we have snow forecast for tomorrow, thing is it's so wet I doubt it'll lay I just picked Ells up from her sleepover where they went to sleep at 5am I'm looking forward to a lovely well behaved happy girl today
Hope she wasn't too miserable!;)
Dude, I tried to find a couple pair for Leo at Target on Sun... they had NONE in sizes 6 or 7!
Must be the popular size. I need to get Jimmy the 7's for the length, so I like Target becasue they have the adjustable waists!
Ugh. Poor Leo is having zero fun at day care this week; apparently, he's the only one his age there and has spent the past 2 days playing by himself. He feigned an upset stomach last night, trying to stay home.
Poor kiddo:hug: This is why Jim and I need to move there. Then Jim can be the vacation babysitter for all the kids, then they would have each other to play with:thumbsup2
I think she means the party type, not the real estate type.
::yes:: Maybe others don't call it this:confused3
I'm guessing you are glad;):hug:
Yep But seriously the most comfortable shoes I've EVER worn, including my old favorite Dr. Martins!
Comfort is all I care about anymore;)
Turns out, Leo is sick - he's home now with an upset stomach and a 102.5* fever. :guilty: He's got 9 days to get rid of it.
Ugh, I hope he feels better. 9 days? When does he go back to school?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Evening Fockers. We saw Disney on Ice - Celebrations this afternoon. Loved it! It had princesses, but it also had stuff for the boys too. Toy Story, Stitch, the fab 5:thumbsup2 Jimmy really liked it. Even the cynic Jim liked it. I will post pics when I get them uploaded onto Photobucket.
We dropped Jim's sister off at his mom's and stopped and picked up the beer for Friday. Didn't want to do that tomorrow, becasue I figured they will be packed then. Have been playing Sorry and Transformers since we got home. Nice relaxing day.
Tomorrow I have to run to the grocery store for the stuff for Friday and straighten up. Tomorrow night should be low key. Jimmy decided that he does NOT want to stay up until midnight:thumbsup2 Jim and I will probably watch Dick Clark and be asleep by 12:01:lmao:
Hope everyone is having a lovely evening!
Brought Buzz home and played the second game of Harry Potter Clue of the day, made the dinner, and now the boys are building Legos. I need to get the garbage out soon, but other than that... Looking at another quiet night. :thumbsup2 Probably some sort of football is on, which keeps Dad and D happy. ;)
Right now we are watching the Flyers beat the STINKING Rangers! They are suppossed to be playing the NHL Classic on Friday at Fenway, but the weather doesn't seem to be cooperating.
:wave2: Hi Fockers! I've been reading along but haven't had the time to quote anyone. With the kids being home and Christmas I can't wait to start back to school again. That will seem like downtime. :rotfl:
Sounds like everyone is doing good though! :thumbsup2 I need to get Linds out of the tub and ready for bed. Her 7th birthday is tomorrow so once she's in bed I'm making her cake so it'll be ready in the morning for her.
Can't wait to see your pics of Disney on Ice Janet. I got Lindsey ticket's for her b-day and can't wait to give them to her. I think ours is 100 Years, or something like that. :)
Gotta run! Hope everyone enjoys their nights. :goodvibes
I have been having a ahrad time finding them for Jimmy too. Size 7 must be popular:confused3
I found the adjustable waist ones at Kohl's and they're on sale right now for $12.99. :thumbsup2 Apparently size 5 & 7 are very popular. :confused3
Sorry, I skimmed. Just checkin' in, I've been busy getting my things organized so I can start packing. Looks like I'm going to freeze my *** off in Florida, too. :sad2:
