Back from the match. My partner and I lost, but it was pretty close, and she was deathly nervous for her first ever match. I've been there. We did pretty well, though, really. The other doubles team won, though our singles player also lost, so overall the other team 'won' as they got 2 of 3.
Oh, well. It was fun. And I'm used to losing.
So, the good news was that when I was ready to walk out of the house this morning, my neighbor, who works in the upper elementary school, called. She had heard that I'd said they didn't need more subs, but I guess they are desperate in her school, which is 5th-6th, and the schedule is only 5 minutes off my kids' school.
So, she talked to her principal and they called the superintendent's office. I guess they ARE into the new sub lists now, but starting with people who have a teaching certificate, then going to those like me with a non-teaching degree. But, they asked about me, which is good - my sub career might take off, after all!
On the other hand, I'm still not sure I'm not getting something - the cough is back post-tennis and I'm freezing (though it IS 46 and raining, so that might be normal.) I'm trying to decide if I should exercise when I take the boys to their yoga, or if I should go sit in the steam room.
I did play tennis today, so I wouldn't feel TOO guilty if I don't work out.
I think I'm going to try to power nap for a few before the boys get home. D's said he'll make chili tonight, so that should be good by the time we get back from the gym. The kids will do homework before we go, since yoga's so late (and it's pouring) so... I'm off! BBL!
