Happy Birthday, Jo! ​

Good morning - been reading but not quoting.

D was lovely and got the kids up and out the door. I meant to get up to do breakfast, but I was just so cozy. D's gone off to work out and then to the office. I am going to TRY tennis drills, but I'm still coughing sometimes. Since I've not done anything more strenuous than shopping since last Sunday, I don't know if I'll be worse with exertion or not. I'll try - if it seems to make things much worse, I'll quit.

Angela, glad Mitch is home.

So, there we go. I will go to the grocery store after tennis, and that's about all I've got.

The girls woke me at about 6.30am to give me my pressies and cards. I'm getting a swinging chair for the garden as my main pressie so just got a few little things. I'm also going to buy a new handbag with Mum and Nanny's money and plants for the garden from my Dad. Jess secretly bought me a bag of haribo jelly babies as they're my favourite in the mixed bags, I'd never seen them sold on their own before and she was a real sweetie doing that

We've then been for a really long walk, had lunch out and walked back and we're now waiting for the girls to come home to do the cake

I'm glad Mitch is home, but it always throws my schedule off when he is. He needs to get lots done, which he won't get all done today, but he'll think he needs too. We may get Reid from school as he is so excited Uncle Mooch is home.

Well I was going to get update on here but I was just informed that I need to take my DH in to his employer to drop off paperwork. Plus he needs to talk to the nurse there about the insurance. We still haven't gotten approval for the Avastin that he needs. His speech and right leg are getting worse. He doesn't feel safe to drive any more.

Hopefully I'll be back in a couple of hours.

I was wondering why my Dyson wasn't cleaning too well yesterday, and after watching the presentation on QVC, I found out I'm supposed to clean the filter every 3 months. I've had it almost 2 years.

OMG, I've had mine for years and NEVER cleaned the filter! Oops.

Important note---
In the past 2 days, I have:
...fixed my vacuum cleaner (discovered it had sucked up Bear's rope toy and the belt had broke)......
...fixed the ice maker (took a blow dryer to the thingie that froze up last time and made me call the repair guy!)

So I think I've saved around $300 in bills! Shopping anyone??!

CE needs to write a book titled, “Vacuums, Tennis And Wine”. I bet it would be a best seller. She is still struggling with a cough.

ROSIE may be a duchess in some respects but she is the QUEEN of bargaining. Kyle had his 8th B-day! Happy Birthday, Kyle!
She is leaving us for Disney in a couple of days.

She has asked us to keep sending prayers for baby Bree.


KAT will be pretty in purple after the vow renewal next weekend. KC is surprising her with the evening stay somewhere secret.

JO is a very patient golfer. The kitty is doing well. She likes Jo’s chest for napping. Jess’s knee was still hurting. Jo and David found out that Asian people do know what cancel means on a cash register. I’d take my business elsewhere also.

JANET will have 7 boy scouts at her place on the 20th. Goonies was recommended for the boys to watch. It’s a very good movie! Congrats on Jimmy’s 2nd place in the derby.

ANGELA’s pool resurfacing has started. It will take 2 months. She found out that a filter on a vacuum is not self-cleaning. Good thing you shared this info with V!

We finally got approval for the Avastin from the insurance. I am expecting the doctor's office to call tomorrow to get things rolling. If they don't call by noon. Doug will call them. Now let's all pray that this treatment works.

We have to go pick up the title for the new/used car tomorrow. Then we will go to the BMV to get all of our registrations renewed. That is always a treat.

My house is in need of a good cleaning. I don't have time. It is the pits - Janet, do you have some free time? I'll have Kat cook for us and CE will bring the wine. Oh and if any of the rest of you want to join in, that's perfectly fine with me!!!!

(See what working 5 nights in a row and being half crazy with worry does for me.)

I need to get some dinner cooking.

This was the complete day from HECK! Had a 20 minute conversation with an ADA that went something like this.

Him - Hi Janet this is ADA Smith
Me - Hi.
Him I'm calling about John Doe. He apppeared before Judge So and so on December 15th and the judge sentenced him to County Prison with a 2 year probation tail. He has gotten rearrested, but the case hasn't been made up.
Me - Not a problem, give me the caase number and I will look it up.
He give me the case number and I look it up.
Me - He maxed out (meaning he wasn't paroled and served his whole sentence).
Him - Right, but there is a two year consecutive probation
Me - No there isn't, I am looking at the court order.
Him - Well, the justput a 2 year probation tail.
Me - That's nice, but unless it's on the court order it doesn't exist, I can't make up the case.
Him - You have to make up the case.
Me - No I don't
Him - The judge really wanted this guy to have the 2 year probation tail.
Me - That's great, go back to the judge and get an ameded order and I will created the case.
Him - You mean you're really not going to do it.
Me - Um, nope!

That was the gist of my day

Dinner is done and Jimmy is watching Boomerang and then we will be heading up for bath and bed. I hope you are all having a good night!

I know nothing. I let D sleep in this morning as payback for my lazy start yesterday. He says he's going to mostly stick around here (I don't know if that includes a workout or going to the library to work or what) and we have requested chili for dinner from him. He's gone the whole of next week, so I'm taking advantage of him being here this week.

I'll take the kids to tennis later, but I don't have much else to do today except for some laundry.

I was very hesitant to tell anyone our choices beforehand. With my mom being a teacher, she had "associations" with a ton of names. StepMIL chimed in with suggestions, but then WE had associations with those she liked. (Stuff like having a friend with that name, but not a good enough friend that we'd name a kid after them, but close enough that it was awkward, etc.)

And, of course, as many of you understand, I didn't want anything too unique.

Good morning, so far anyway. The groundhog saw his shadow and now they are calling for snow tonight (not much about 2 inches) and snow on Friday in Saturday (alot). Of course it couldn't be the other way around so Jim and Jimmy could get a day off could it??
