Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

:Hope it stops soon:hug: When are the kids done for Christmas break?

Last day was last Friday. They'll be home until Jan 4th!!! :faint:

OMG, I'd be pissed at the stupid bus driver, too! Dumb ****. :headache: And why doesn't the afterschool place to a head count BEFORE the bus leave. Duh.:sad2:

You've been busy, don't feel bad about not doing EVERYTHING. Priorities, girlfriend. Priorities. I won't hold not getting a card against you. ;)

Taz, glad things are going OK after the surgery.

Janet, I'm sorry Jimmy's not feeling well.

T, I'm sorry that you have a long break with the rain, but I admit I'm a little bummed that my kids only get all of one school week + 1 day off - it doesn't seem like much of a break. :confused3 I would have thought that at least we could have have tomorrow, off, too. Oh, well. More money for me! :rotfl2:

I'm hoping Jo got wherever she was going OK - it looks like SUCH a nightmare over there. :sad2:

Lessa, great job! :)

****************************************************
I worked Monday and Tuesday and then today was my "unavailable" day, so no morning call. :thumbsup2 I went to Target and a couple of other quick stops before my tennis lesson and got a LOT accomplished that I thought would have taken me all day. I came home to shower and eat before going to the grocery store, but got computer-sidetracked. ;)

Anyway, I said I'd be available to sub tomorrow, and the way things are looking, I'll probably get a call - there continue to be enough teachers out that I have choices every time of where to go. So, I really needed to get finished up today - though we don't do anything on Friday until around 5:30, so I have that time, too, if I really need it. But, it's looking good to get done today. :thumbsup2

It's actually snowing a bit now - and did some yesterday, as well - but nothing's sticking. :confused3 They're saying something might come Saturday night (just in time for my parents' drive, yippee ) but really, it seems too weird. Although, I'm remembering that last year on Christmas Eve, when the neighborhood party was here at my house, it was warm enough for the kids to all go out and play basketball in our driveway. So I guess it's not THAT odd. :rotfl:

Hope everyone's having a good week. :) :grouphug:

Hey--why is Janet surprised?? (that sounds like a riddle?? I'm gonna text you if I don't find out soon! ) I've been working too much this week to keep up with stuff. Bah Humbug!

Love the card CE! And I told the family that you still have got no snow---and got very little last year if I remember right---and we have been totally slammed. We have banned the songs "let it snow" and "i'm dreaming of a white Christmas" from the nursing home now! The residents think it's funny but we tease them they they stay warm and with electricity and have to shovel snow and slide down hills to get to them! ;) They still sing......

Jo.....I feel your snow pain...and I like the word "prat"....gonna work that one in somehow.

Lessa--WTG!!:thumbsup2

I did get a moment to get my hair cut and colored yesterday and I love it! It's reddish--I'll post some Christmas pics of it when I get some. still haven't uploaded my cruise pics so don't hold your breath on that one!

Yes - must see the pics of the new hair!

Hey everyone! I've been crazy busy. Had a few nights last week where I was up doing embroidery until 2:30 in the morning. There is so much drama at the place that I am subleasing from. I am not going to keep subleasing, but the owner told me that she will still advertise embroidery and have me do it. I won't be paying rent or have any products there. I may look around and try to find another spot. There is also another gift shop about 20 minutes from my house that is going to use my embroidery services. So, if I can keep busy and keep working out of the house, I will be happy. I'll miss having the shop, but won't miss working the weekends. I'm only going to move into another spot if I can get it where I don't have to be there every single weekend.

Janet - the bus driver is a DA! I would have been mad, too.
Tracy- yeah - parents are cheapskates. I got so irritated last year with my sons end of school party. Hardly anyone would volunteer to bring anything. I ended up bringing almost every thing. I also had a hard time getting people to volunteer for the fundraiser I did in October. There were only a handful of people who regularly helped out. They were life savers! I gave them each a monogrammed tote when we were done. They loved it!

Lessa - Way to Go! Don't forget, we'll be cruising together. Definitely need to make some meet plans.

Hey all! Working on 4.5 hours sleep. Working the two jobs is rough right now, becasue of the lack of sleep, but hey the bank account is appreciating it:thumbsup2 So are the credit card companies, gas company, water company, electric comapnay, mortgage company:rolleyes1

Tonight will be the last midnight night, then I am off until Monday from both jobs. Then I work Monday and Wednesday, but only until 9:30 and New Years Day from 11:00 - 6:00, which is fine becasue we don't really do anything on NY day. If I can get two nights during the week and Sundays, it will be perfect. We'll see how things play out.

Today I am working the FT job only until 12:00, then heading to Jimmy's school for the class party. After that I will sign him out for the rest of the day. We will go to the grocery store to pick up the last minute stuff, then I should have a little bit of time to relax before I head to Macy's for 6pm - Midnight.

Tomorrow I have to make potato salad and prep the green beans for Saturday, and then cook for tomorrow nights dinner. Jim will bread the fish while I am out getting my hair done and then I can take a shower and start cooking when I get home.

I will probably get a chance to check in at some point over the weekend, but if not I hope you all have a

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Mary - Sounds like things are really starting to roll with your business, that's great! Congrats. And ITA about parent involvement. You see it at Jimmy's school, you see the same parents at every event. But of course the 1st ones to complain are the ones who don't do anything:headache:

How is it almost Christmas already? Although that does mean this year is almost over, and only 5 more months until Mitch comes home! :cool1: No real plans for Saturday. My sister was going to Memphis, but Ridley is sick and probably shouldn't travel. They are going to the in-laws so Santa can come there. We already did presents as I thought they would be gone. A friend will be in town without her family as well, so we think we're going to the beach. Something different for Christmas this year, which I am totally fine with. :goodvibes

A few weeks ago my grandmother took a turn for the worse, so my aunt, cousin, sister and I all went immediately to Memphis. Hospice was called in and after getting on oxygen, and pain meds for her back, my grandmother seems to be doing pretty well. She has decided not to go back to the doctor and just stay comfortable at home. And she absolutely loved all the attention! She is up and eating and sounds good, so we'll wait and see.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! :goodvibes

It's the day before the night before Christmas....and I'm busy busy busy being good!!!!:rolleyes1 are you???

Twas The Night Before Christmas 2010
An Sort of Original Focker Poem by TE!

T'was the night before Christmas
And I just couldn’t sleep
Thoughts of old friends and new
Made me not get a peep

I went to the kitchen
in search of a bite.
If I filled up my stomach,
perhaps I'd sleep tight.

The cupboard was empty
the fridge, it was bare.
I searched in the crockpot
But no food anywhere!

I looked out the window:
Streets covered with snow;
It’s two in the morning
Could I still talk to Jo?

I spied my computer,
I’ll go bootup that.
Thanks to Rosie’s puter skills
I’ll have some Christmas Eve chat.

My puter came to life
without even a miss!
In the blink of an eye,
I’ll be able to DIS!

Dang—Janet’s at Macy’s
But Where was my Mel?
Oh Lori, Kat, and Lessa,
And Jens—please do tell!

My threads were all opened
And I waited to chat
But the Fockers were silent
Can’t imagine that!

No Dawn, V, T, or Taz,
Wow--that's just great…
Not even a Kristel
for a Focker update!

Maybe Z’s working late,
Or Rachel too!
Angela’s missing Mitch
5 more months makes her blue.

Where are Slate and Mary?
I felt so alone.
Guess CE’s with her hubby….
So I can’t use the phone!

But wait! One more refresh!
Now what do I see?
There's someone else out there.
Wanting to talk to me!

In wonder---I read:
"Hey---it's 3:53.
Your friends are all sleeping;
that's where you should be".

"Turn off that 'puter.
Take your hand off that mouse.
I have a few things
to drop off at your house".

"You know I can't stop there
while you're still awake.
I have schedules to keep.
Come on----Give Me A Break!"

If you really are Santa
(that jolly, old elf)
there's only one present
I'd wish for myself.

The folks on my DIS list.
Those friends far and near.
You just gather them up
and bring them right here.

In just a few hours
I awoke with a start.
It was only a dream--I sighed
heavy of heart.

I walked down the stairs
and there 'round my tree,
were all of the people
I thought I'd never see.

We laughed and we {{{{{hugged}}}}}
and we just had a ball.
Hmmmmmm--maybe that wasn't
a dream after all.

So to all of my friends
I do say with great cheer
Merry Christmas my Fockers!
I wish you were here…..

TE I love the poem.

I won't be on my computer until tomorrow if I'm lucky. The peace before the onslaught of my kids and grandkids.

May all of you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.

TE!!! I love that poem! Love how you tweak it every year.

Merry Christmas Ladies!!!:santa:

Love to all!
