Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Okay, that's it - you must teach me how to do this prize-getting thing! Will it work over here?
:rotfl2: I'm not sure about any US sites but I use a website called moneysavingexpert.co.uk it has a forum and one of the parts is Competitions. A bit like the DIS people post all the comps they find, including url, answer to question etc and I choose which ones I want to enter. I have a program called roboform on my PC which has all my details stored so at a click of a button it fills the form in for me. I do however put in a wrong DOB just to be safe. It's all free to enter, never pay to join a site as you don't need too. I do spend a LOT of time entering though, a few hours a day, but since May I've won over £3,000 of stuff :goodvibes

Silly question are you driving all the way there? How long will that take, you know me and my aversion to long car journeys :rotfl2:

Morning all. Talked to dad and he sounds good:confused3 He has to drink a lot of water because of high potassium in his kidneys:confused3 Anyway, they told him part of his problem retaining fluid is that he drinking TOO much water. He has to find that happy medium to solve both problems.
I hope he gets it sorted :hug: Good luck tonight and is Thanksgiving next Thursday???

My camera arrived and it's great, it's a Canon DSLR, Jess has said she wants it as her Christmas pressie so I'd better hate the designer handbag that I've won as Ellie wants that as hers :rotfl2:

Sounds like an awesome trip. Jim wants to do a cross country road trip one day. I told him I have to save up some vacation time for a couple of years, or we wait until we are retired
I hear ya - I'll be taking more than two weeks off, so I'm saving, saving saving now.
Morning all. Talked to dad and he sounds good:confused3
Good! Weird, but good! :hug:

Yup! It'll take around 28+ hours to get to Santa Fe,our first stop, which we'll cover in 3 days (one with LL!) Then, around 3-6 hours between sights, with some stops for just a night and others for a couple nights. And then around 28ish hours back to home after our last stop, again over 2-3 days. We've driven 12-15 hours at a time no problem in the past, but I want to make sure we don't have to, so that we can stop and see things along the way. :thumbsup2

Hi All! :wave:

I've been reading along, but everytime I try to post, I get interrupted. :headache:

Anyway, Waldo's doing much better. It's taking him a bit longer as he has zero appetite, so he's not getting enough nutrition, thus slowing his process. He's lost 20 pounds in 2.5 weeks! :faint: He was released from his surgeon, which is good. He's still under the care of the cardiologist, which I figure he will be forever.

Other than that, I've just been busy with Scouts - both girl and boy. Ugh. Evan signed up for baseball, so I'm going to guess my schedule will be even crazier come the spring.

Hope everyone is having a great week! :hippie:

Glad Waldo is feeling better!

HI all! I had training today. 7.5 hours in front of a computer and can I just say a monkey can do this job. It was registers for dummies and they wouldn't let you skip over stuff :faint: I have a headache now.

Yep same here, the register training was a joke!

Second day with my patient tomorrow, I'm nervous! :laughing:

Today in lab we were practicing taking blood pressure. I had 8 different students take my pressure and they all got readings right around 120/80 (normal) with very slight variance, then the teacher took my pressure and it was 150/100! That is VERY high, not good! Now I am freaked out that I have a problem, of course I don't get why everybody else was getting a good pressure on me and the teacher got such a bad one. :confused3 The teacher said not to stress and that I should just check it again in a week or two. Of course, now I am stressed about not stressing and how can I not be stressed with a reading like that and then there is everyday stress on top of that stress! :scared: :laughing:[/COLOR]

Stop stressing!!!! :rolleyes:

Kat how's your job going?

Not bad, so far just training...Sunday I get into the actual job more.

Morning all. Talked to dad and he sounds good:confused3 He has to drink a lot of water because of high potassium in his kidneys:confused3 Anyway, they told him part of his problem retaining fluid is that he drinking TOO much water. He has to find that happy medium to solve both problems.

TOnight is the spaghetti dinner for the scouts (They are cooking and serving the parents:scared1:)

Tomorrow I have a 4 hour orientation at Macy's and then I am supposed to go to the casino with my cousin. HOWEVER, that depends on the what lumber says about the leaking toilet today:headache:

The balck friday ads are trickling out and Toys R Us is opening 10pm Thursday Night, so I am trying to develop a plan. So far it looks like this.

10pm - Toys R Us (Cause you know if you don't nothing will be left)
Home to crash for a couple of hours
4am Target and then Best Buy
THen the King of Prussia Mall.

All shopping should be complete by 2:00pm:thumbsup2.

Glad your dad's on the mend! Ya gotta love how retail acts like its the best hardest job ever, right? :) And man you're a brave woman heading out on black Friday!

Yup! It'll take around 28+ hours to get to Santa Fe,our first stop, which we'll cover in 3 days (one with LL!) Sounds like a blast!!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Work had been good. I worked the last 2 days in a training room. It's really straight forward stuff. I have to be trained on the register for a few days until I am officially a supervisor but then i wont be on the registers at all. This week will prove to be a challenge tho, since its full time, and I haven't done full time in years. I work sun, Mon & Tues training hands on with the registers then I go to my reg schedule. Turns out the one I got is pretty darn good! I am off Wed & Sat and only have to work evenings on Sun & Fri. Fri will be tough because it's a 10 hour day tho.
So I somehow screwed up my nose and I have n idea how. I got the sniffles a few days ago and then the bridge of my nose got sore and it seems to have gotten worse. I iced it yesterday and then this morning its HUGE. I didn't have a small nose to start with either! I have no clue what it is but its tender and sore and red. :sad1:
Anyways today is catch up day in the house and tomorrow is rest day before I start out on the full time workin'.
Happy Friday!
Yeah but you'll walk 1000 miles no problem;):lmao:
Definitely weird ::yes::
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK-LAHOMA where the rain comes crashing through the plains.....your welcome;)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This day is never ending. Actually it is, I am taking off in about a half hour. Have to pick up frozen meatballs (Look away V, my Italian friend) for scout spaghetti dinner tonight. THen I have to run home. Gather up all the stuff I bought last night, walk to the dog, get changed and be ready for when Jim gets home so we can get to the church we we hold our meetings so that we can start setting everything up. We have to be done and cleaned up by 8:30 becasue the church is holding a craft fair tomorrow, so they are coming in to set up for that.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Chat later:goodvibes
Checking in!
Janet I hope your dad is doing better.
Congrats to you and Kat on the jobs.
I skimmed. Looks like everyone is doing well enough. Christmas is just around the corner! This year has gone by so fast.
We got bad news on Doug yesterday. His tumor is spreading to the other side of his brain. So a change in chemo and some more radiation is in the works. He is very depressed. May have to work on that as well.
I really have very little time to get on the computer any more. So much is happening at work and home that I'm spent by the time I have 3 days off. I'm not doing well on the weight front with all this bull going on so I've joined Nutrisystem. I got the food on the 10th. We'll see what happens.
Gotta get ready for work.
Hugs to all!
How is your Dad?
We got bad news on Doug yesterday. His tumor is spreading to the other side of his brain. So a change in chemo and some more radiation is in the works. He is very depressed. May have to work on that as well.
Oh Kristel I'm so sorry, I hope the treatment works for him :hug::hug::hug:
Hi Tracy :wave2:
OMG I'm fed up with rain, we haven't done anything all day, well we played a game but nothing involving fresh air :sad2: Yesterday I went out for coffee (well I had hot chocolate) with a friend and we managed to escape the rain and walked :thumbsup2 Tomorrow D and I need to do some serious Christmas shopping, it's only 2.5 weeks till I go to NYC then when I get back the girls only have 1.5 weeks left of school plus we then go away 2 days after that :eek: OMG where is the time going?????
I missed the Times Square Disney Store opening, apparently it was neat, oh well. I really need a Disney fix too.
I went to the one in Cherry Hill. It was crazy.
GOt a call from my brother. Dad is in the hospital Fluid around the heart:sad2: My broither talked to him though and he said he sounded good and in good spirits. I will give him a call tomorrow. Good thoughts please:goodvibes
Hope all is well for him.
I am going to Toys R Us with my daughters and Jim. I'm standing in line while the 3 split up and get what they need. I will avoid the mall at all costs the next day.
My camera arrived and it's great, it's a Canon DSLR, Jess has said she wants it as her Christmas pressie so I'd better hate the designer handbag that I've won as Ellie wants that as hers :rotfl2:
That is a great camera to win. You're making me jealous. I only have a Sony DSLR. Not many people like them.
Sounds like a sinus infection of some sort. Hope you feel better soon. I hate complicated colds.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Mine was exciting. I have spent days on photopass trying to finish up the edits on my CD. :headache:
My daughter called to tell me that a car went through her garage door when the tow truck operator loading it onto the truck did something wrong and it broke loose. The company was going to replace it and then balked because of the cost. Her landlord was less than happy and it took most of her day to get it straightened out. Of course she had it on facebook within seconds. :lmao:
The Disney Store in the Cberry Hill Mall reopened today so I took the grandkids over. There was aline to get in the store because they were limiting the amount of people in there. Of course my daughters and I were thrilled it was such a short line. We thought we were seeing Mickey and Minnie. :confused3 That line was not so short.
DSCN0102.jpg
We had an hour plus wait at this point. :scared1: This was after already waiting 15 minutes. Some pics of the kids with their first Mickey meet.
Ella ran right up to him. Not bad for not quite 2.
Ella and Mikey with mom (Jennifer). I was so proud of Mikey. He ran right up to Mickey too. Mikey gets afraid of things.
All of the grandkids and my daughters
This was as close as Anthony would get to Mickey. He couldn't wait to see him until we got close and then it was No Way. I hope this changes by August when we go to WDW.
DSCN0119.jpg
We were there for close to TWO HOURS. I like Disney lines so much better.
Not much else going on here. Have a good night.
It's Monday ::yes:: That's it, not Happy Monday, nor Good Moorning. Just it is Monday.;)
It was a crazy busy weekend for us.
On Friday we did the spaghetti dinner with scouts. They dud a GREAT job and completed their Cooking and Eating Achievement:thumbsup2
Saturday the boys did the bag drop off for Scouting for Food (T - do your scouts do this?) and then stopped at Jim's moms for a while. I had my orientation at Macy's, which was actually interesting, especially when we were in the "loss prevention" area and i picked off a shoplifter on one of the monitors:rotfl2:
Sunday was the last day for soccer and it was parents vs. kids. It was a tie:rolleyes1 Then they kids got their trophies. AFter that Jim and Jimmy went with Jim's parents to the book store. As part of Jimmy's birthday present they gave him a trip to the book store to pick out "whatever" he wanted. We finally convinced them to give him a dollar limit, otherwise thay'd go into the poor house:eek: He got a dinosaur books, a book about the human body, and the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid -The Ugly Truth book. While they were ther I cleaned. I tore the kitchen apart and cleaned every nook, cranny and crevice. I also did the dining room, living room, bathroom, and laundry. I'm tired;)
This will be another busy week too. TOday the candy sale from Jimmy's school stuff should be coming in. I have popcorn to mail out (Hi T:wave:) from the scout popcorn sales, Wednesday I have a home and school meeting. The Scouts have a Bonfire on Friday NIght. Saturday we go back to pick up the bags that hopefuly people will put canned good into and then Saturday Night the boys are going to Sahara Sam's (an indoor water park) for a scout trip!
So, what's everyone else up too?
Hope you all have a great day/week?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Kat - glad the job is going well:thumbsup2
Taz - Didn't know the Disney Store in CHerry HIll had closed:confused3
Rosie - COngrats on the bonus and the raise:cool1:
Jo - Do you need a rowboat yet;)
Saturday the boys did the bag drop off for Scouting for Food (T - do your scouts do this?) and then stopped at Jim's moms for a while.
Yes, they did the bag drop 2 Saturdays ago and the pick-up this past Saturday. Of course, I totally forgot about it and Evan missed it. :sad2:
So, what's everyone else up too?
Had a busy weekend.... my Girl Scouts did a nut booth at the post office for about an hour before it got too dark on Friday. They did pretty good and sold 21 cans of $6 nuts. People are crazy. :rotfl2:
Saturday I was feeling a bit frustrated with my dad. He's lost over 25 pounds and looks terrible. He's in a bit of a funk and really dislikes where he's at right now. It's a fine line between making sure he gets enough rest and not letting him sit and wallow in self-pity. I'm having a hard time walking the line.
I called my brothers and they came over Sunday to visit with him. It was nice as he was able to have a conversation that didn't include medications and Dr.'s appointments, KWIM?
Anyway, that's about it for me. I have another nut booth this afternoon - we only have about 25 cans to sell. Nothing major planned tomorrow, Wednesday is Girl Scouts, Thursday is Boy Scouts, and Friday is Andy's last day of work until the 29th, as he's on vacation! Yippeee!!
*****************************************************
Kristel - I'm sorry to hear about Doug. Sending many happy thoughts his and your way! :hug:
Janet - How's your dad doing?
Congrats on the job, Kat.
CE - How was the trip?
Cute pics, Taz.
Hi Jo, Tracy, V, & Lessa.
Oh, BTW - Lessa - I read about all your success in school! Fantastic! You'll make a brilliant nurse. :thumbsup2
Yes, they did the bag drop 2 Saturdays ago and the pick-up this past Saturday. Of course, I totally forgot about it and Evan missed it.
That's okay. He can do it next year:thumbsup2
It's nice that they want to support scouts though. We had a lot of people who just gave donations, becasue they didn't want popcorn when we were doing that!
BTW - I need help. My nephew is finishing up his 1st semester of college :faint:. Anyway I am making him a finals survival kit..lots of junk food, etc. ANy ideas for some good stuff to put in there? I have the normal stuff, chips, pretzels, cheese curls, cookies, and his favorite...Dr. Pepper. Any other ideas. My mom used to do this for me whn I was in college and I thought he'd get a kick out of it. She would also sent me cigarettes:rolleyes1 and romance novels. I don't think he'd want those:rotfl2: He is a Disney fan too, he is looking into doing the college program:thumbsup2
Oh, BTW - Lessa - I read about all your success in school! Fantastic! You'll make a brilliant nurse. :thumbsup2
Thanks :goodvibes The program is definitely a lot of work but I actually feel like I am earning my grades this time around, unlike with my first degree where I just sort of coasted through everything.
Crazy busy at work. Just wanted to say hi....Hi :wave2:
Jimmy getting very excited about Christmas. Wants to start watching the Christmas shows (especially Christmas Story - He woke up talking about deranged Eaters Bunnies:rotfl2:).
I have started CHristmas shopping. I ordered a couple of things on line. I got Jimmy (and Jim;)) a tent for camping at Walmart. It was a good deal. 9 x 8 foot tent, sleeping bag, and a camping chair for $40:thumbsup2 I also picked up an Iron Man Costume for Jimmy. Jim wants a coping saw:confused3 and I am thinking a new power washer for him;) We put a limit on each other becasue we really are trying to get some things paid off and don't want to use the credit cards alot.
