Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Here's a good one, Jo.

I have no idea what this is:

That is pickle, you can put it in cheese sandwiches or use it on salads, it's traditionally used in a Ploughmans which is basically bread, cheese, pickle and salad. I've never heard of that brand though the popular one here is Branston (which Rosie likes) D likes it but I don't!

I am actually looking forward to trying this on our trip. My mom loves it. Personally I think she is getting in touch with her English roots. She has questionable taste at times because she loves some weird foods. Steak and Kidney Pie come to mind. No offense if you like it but that just sounds bad.
Ewww kidney :eek: Lots of older people here like it though!

Cake in a can. That sounds like WWII army food. :lmao:
:rotfl: You're meant to make steamed sponge puddings from scratch, this is the cheats way :thumbsup2

I couldn't resist - I want to play, too. :rotfl2:

My regular grocery has several little international sections. I know what this is, but have to share:
038.jpg

And I wondered if these were the pickled onions, and wondered what the pickalilly or whatever is...
039.jpg
OMG T what have you started :rotfl2: The top one, spotted dick, is another steamed sponge pudding but has raisins or sultanas in and is a very traditional dessert. Often in schools! And then there's good old Branson pickle. The piccallilli isn't pickled onions they come in a huge jar full of vinegar and are whole onions (well little ones) they come in various strengths I don't eat them but I love pickled onion monster munch (type of chips) The piccallilli is just to eat on the side of salads maybe cold meats it's horrid :rotfl: I think it may even be German like what you get in Biergarten :lmao:

I never told you what I did today, well I finally am rid of all my wall paper, I did post on FB so I think you all know anyway. It took me all day to clear, strip, clean, fil, sand and do 1 coat of paint. Hopefully tomorrow I'll do the ceiling and another coat on the walls then buy the final paint colour and do at least 1 coat of that as well as go to Jessica's school for an interview about her subject choices :thumbsup2

Kidani Savannah view, that's why it was little more than what I budgeted.
I'll take lots of pics :goodvibes
Sweet!

Ohhhhh... ok, I guess it's kind of like relish.

OMG T what have you started :rotfl2:
:rotfl2:

Wait... I lost CE's post. Great pics, CE! :lmao:

:lovestruc You're my dream wife, Jo. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 Your boss told me to tell you he'd expect you in by 11......good thing I have his number on speed dial to help ya out!

I am so glad to have such a good friend TE:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Janet - what a shocker. :lmao:

What:confused3;)

I was up for VP of Fundraising. It was the only contested race on the ballot. It didn't sound as bad as I feared, but if I'd known someone else was running, I wouldn't have accepted the nomination. I'm probably of much more use staying with book fair for next year, you know? If I win, it's fine, but... I spread the word through my friend the volunteer coordinator that people shouldn't feel bad not voting for me, even if they like me. :rotfl:

Let us know if you get elected!

Ok.... who's ready for Round 1 of "NAME THAT FREAKY BRITISH SNACK!"?

Ok, Jo... what in the heck is this???

downsized_0331001001a.jpg

It just looks scary :scared:

Some highlights of the trip....

I saw Cheers! I didn't go in because I was by myself but I took some pics!

I've been there. It is sooooooooo small inside it's pretty funny! Looks like a great trip:thumbsup2

Jim actually expects to be home fairly early today. They had almost no custodies going down to court because of Passover. The Judges and lawyers want out early. If you're going to get jury duty this is the week to do it.

They actually called 4 or 5 panels out before 9:20:eek:

:rotfl2:

I'm leaving early though. I've decided to check out some Alumni thing from my University. Might as well make being an Alumni useful for something since my degree is collecting dust :guilty:

What is your degree in Z?

Would the piccalilli be like sauerkraut? I got a few strange looks taking pictures in the international aisle. :rotfl:

Congratulations! It was such a good feeling when I got ours out. ::yes:: Hope Jess gets what she wants tomorrow!

Wait... I lost CE's post. Great pics, CE! :lmao:

Thanks, I thought you'd be proud. :rotfl2:

I did not, but since I spread the word that it would be better to stay with Book Fair, I'm not unhappy. ;)

I've been there. It is sooooooooo small inside it's pretty funny!

Yep.

*******************************************************
Well, D & I got even more crap out of the basement this afternoon, then I did my shopping trip (complete with pictures! :lmao:) I made the good broiled salmon again, and the boys had showers. I got the regular trash out (I feel kind of dumb taking trash out when I have a huge dumpster in my driveway, but I am paying the regular guys anyway, and they will actually recycle, which is better. :thumbsup2)

It's supposed to get nice again tomorrow and through Sunday, which is great. I did talk to Deb and we'll do something with them for Easter, so that's good, too. :)

What does she want to major in TE?

TE is a subject now !!!!:confused3:lmao::lmao:

Ok.... who's ready for Round 1 of "NAME THAT FREAKY BRITISH SNACK!"?

Ok, Jo... what in the heck is this???

downsized_0331001001a.jpg

I hope the sponge pudding is better than the: "Stoge " they served for school lunches !! The pudding is a heavy sponge type pudding and the Treacle is actually Golden syrup which is similar to our honey except a little thicker and is delish!!!

Kat: OMG Magic. My brother and I used to play that all the time. :goodvibes

What is your degree in Z?

Communications. I was a film geek, but the degree just says communications and I dabbled in marketing. But I don't have enough experience for employers and they won't give it to me so I'm stuck. :confused3

I'm :rotfl: at all the Brit food.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I didn't get to the Alumni thing. It was actually kinda cancelled, so I didn't feel that bad. There was a mixer thing and I was trying to get to that but the traffic was horrendous so I turned around.
I'm here just relaxing and watching a movie. Tomorrow is my Friday. :banana:
OMG I had forgotten about "Spotted Dick" It is the same as sponge pudding )stoge ) but with raisins or sultanas as British Jo said:lmao:
Branston is delish!!! It's a relish but chunkier than ours and is brown !! I really miss it !! Now will ya'll look for PEAR DROPS!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
Kat I loved the pix of Boston soooo approp right now as the girls are going on a field trip there next week !!:banana::banana: Today they had to practise getting on and off a tour bus :confused3 Also had the RULES reinforced !! Do you believe they tape the rooms at night so there is NO sneaking out :rotfl2::rotfl2: My boy announced he planned on bringing tape !! Dummy guess who they will be watching like a HAWK!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I did not, but since I spread the word that it would be better to stay with Book Fair, I'm not unhappy. ;)
:thumbsup2 That's why I like my member at large title. I can volunteer for what I want (which is alot) but I don't have any of the responsibility;)
It's supposed to get nice again tomorrow and through Sunday, which is great. I did talk to Deb and we'll do something with them for Easter, so that's good, too. :)
Here too with the weather. I'm cooking for Easter but it is only 9 of us, so that's not too bad.
It's a vicious cycle!:sad2:
That stinks!
I'm here just relaxing and watching a movie. Tomorrow is my Friday. :banana:
What are you watching?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
I crashed for about 4 hours this afternoon. We got back from the eye doctor. I had a punding headache. I thought it was becasue I hadn't eaten anything, but eating just made it worse and made me naseous:sick:. I got up about 6:30 and I feel much better. We did soup and sandwiches for dinner (I made chicken salad from the leftover chicken) Jimmy got his bath a bot early and is watching Ice Age 2 - Meltdown. He will head bed after this and I won't be too far behind, still dont' feel 100%.
Tomorrow morning we have to drop my car off for inspection, then Jimmy has an OT appointment at 10:45 and a play therapist appointment at 2:00pm. I'm guessing we will stop for lunch in between those two thing. We will probably stop at the library after the 2:00pm appontment.
Hope you are all having a good night:goodvibes
Brown came through!!!! :cool1:
My new camera arrived and I can't put it down.
I've been wanting this FOREVER!!! :cloud9:
That's awesome, T!
Our camera (a Canon, but not a full DSLR - it's the step up from the point and shoot, is bigger and does more, but doesn't have the removable lens) is acting up. I've been pricing out new stuff for D's birthday. Let me know how you like it!
Good Morning Fockers !! Just back from pre op testing !! Have to go to worek soon but am taking a little break!!! Chat again tonite !!
Hello all! We're back!
Looks like you had a great time. I've never been to Boston.
KC starts his new job officially on April 14th!! He is super excited!
:banana:
Work is still crazy busy, but I am only 7 weeks away from going to Italy:cool1:
You are going to have an amazing time. :goodvibes
We did the voting, but I've not found out if I won.
Moderator and school officer! Soon you'll be was too cool for us. :rotfl:
Clotted cream is the bomb-diggity. That is all.
:wave:
James Madison (Harrisonburg---which is NOT Virginia Tech!)
A friend of mine went there and now works at the Smithsonian. :thumbsup2
although she does have some friends who will be going to UT Austin.
After connecting with all my elementary friends from Dallas on FB, I found lots of them went there. Of course that's not the real UT. :rolleyes1 ;)
OMG T what have you started :rotfl2:
I love it! :rotfl:
My new camera arrived and I can't put it down.
You'll love it! :thumbsup2
My sister has two houses and won't be able to sleep in either of them Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. ;) They had the terrazzo refinished and didn't realize it could not be walked on for 24 hours. That put the painters at the new house back a few days and they have painters already for the old house so they can't stay there either. They all won't fit at my house or my sister's MIL's and my friend is coming Wednesday. My BIL wanted to get a room at the Ritz until my sister reminded him they have two houses to pay for. :rotfl:
I'd like to stay at home today but my mother wants to bond and go shopping. If only she'd buy me something. :rolleyes1 They can't seem to understand I can't be gone all day everyday, and that I have things at home that need to be done.:rolleyes:
So far, I'm loving it! The full auto mode is awesome, but I'd love to learn to use all the bells and whistles. I ordered a Dummies book for it, so I'm hoping to learn it all before our June trip.
Hmmmm... I guess I shouldn't expect a Mother's Day gift now, huh? :confused3
Not much going on.... I got kicked out of school today ;), so I'll be around all morning. I do need to get some laundry done. Ugh.
WTH happened to Spring? No joke, on Monday the kids wore tees and shorts to school. Today they're wearing jeans, long sleeves.... Ugh.
Mama needs sun!!! :sunny:
Supposed to be 78 here Saturday! :banana:
I forgot to share my happy news! My friend, whose wedding I was in a couple of years ago, had her baby boy this morning! :banana: They had to go through a lot to get him going in the first place, ;) but last night/today everything went pretty well (ended up with a c-section, but it wasn't too scary of a situation) and he and mommy are fine! :banana: :banana:
She wasn't wanting an April Fool baby, but I think she'll be OK. :rotfl:
I feel like an auntie! She's one of my oldest friends. :goodvibes
