Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hi Fockers! shouldn't have checked in here on an empty stomach--clotted cream and pork bellies does not sound appetizing!

Having a good week--kids are outta school on Friday and Monday (no clue how after missing 21 days??). Planning to take Ab to tour Va Tech on Friday---yeah I know, we go there all the time, but this is an "official" college tour. She also wants to tour George Mason (near DC--which is too big and too far away) and James Madison (Harrisonburg---which is NOT Virginia Tech!)
I'm wearing my Hokie clothes and jewelry and driving my Maroon Explorer with Go HOKIES tags to the other schools...:rolleyes1

Daran wants to start a MBA program so I'm getting info for him too.

Oh--I've been playing around on the Carnival Connections website for my cruise---met 2 ladies who are also celebrating their 20+ anniversaries---one is a TN Vols fan and one is a Gator fan, and we all have rooms near each other. We thought it would be fun to decorate our doors with college stuff! I told them I planned to play the Hokie Fight song every hour on the hour!

Oh CE--Ab played her first doubles match last nite! She lost but said they played good and she got some good serves in. She was glad to get her first match under her belt. She has a home match on Thurs that I'll go watch.

I don't know what clotted cream was served from when she was in England. I do know it is served with scones. I bought her a jar of Devonshire cream in EPCOT and she said it was the same thing. We are doing the Afternoon Tea on our trip so I will get to experience it first hand.

++++++++++
Good morning all and it is good. The sun is shining and the weather is supposed to get warm here in the next couple of days. :woohoo:

This is normally my day off from my grandkids but of course I have to play taxi driver for my daughter again. She left the kids coach out in the rain so she can't walk. Her 2 youngest are 16 months and almost 4. She has an appointment within walking distance of her house but not without a coach. Mikey is a runner and needs to be harnessed or in a coach. Of course every time I take her to where she is going someone steals my Disney magnets off of my car. I have lost all of the characters, Tink and Grumpy. The Grumpy really makes me angry because I can't replace him. Seriously though, what kind of low-life steals Disney magnets.

Oh well, I'm going to finish my coffee, take her to her appointment, go to my appointment, take Crystal to dance and then go to church to practice bells for Sunday. Somewhere in between I will get some housework and school work done. I did say this was my day off? :rotfl2:

Have a good day all.

They are 2 very good schools. My niece went to VA Tech and also got her masters there. My other niece goes to George Mason. My brother lives iin Manassas so the girls chose VA schools. My mom wears her Hokie Grandmom T-shirt all the time. :rotfl2:

I leave in 30 days? It's April 30th to May 4th. Can you tell I'm excited.

The baby will be 16 months so she is the perfect age for getting "dyed" herself.

:lmao:

Hi Fockers!

:wave2:

how are all of you? Miss ya!

You too:hug:

OMG, I am cracking up at T's guess the Brit food, but why is Jo answering?;)

:rotfl2:

but I am only 7 weeks away from going to Italy:cool1:

Wow, that came up fast:yay:

We did the voting, but I've not found out if I won. I did lobby to not, so as to stick with book fair another year, though I kept having to say I'd serve happily if I win. ;) We'll see.

What position were you on the ballot fror?

Hi All!!! Just dropping in. We're booked for my bday! :woohoo::woohoo:
And we got AKV! :yay::yay: Can't wait. It was a little more than what I wanted to spend, but oh well.

:yay:

I'm taking the easy road...we're going to brunch at Knott's Berry Farm. Shhhh... don't tell Mickey! :ssst:

That sounds like fun:goodvibes

Clotted cream is the bomb-diggity. That is all.

:wave:

:wave2:

Not that you are biased or anything:rolleyes1

The same lowlife that stole the magnet I had on my van from Jimmy's school:sad2:

Arrived for jury duty at 9:00am....dismissed from jury duty at 9:34am:rolleyes1. Home now, going to take Jimmy to pick up our glasses, then he is going to "help" Jim wash his car. After that we are going to take my car up to the dealer for inspection, and then take Jimmy to the library!:thumbsup2

Beautiful day and it is going to 81 by SAturday, I am so excited:cheer2:

:thumbsup2 Your boss told me to tell you he'd expect you in by 11......good thing I have his number on speed dial to help ya out!

Warm here too! Go Spring!

She is only looking at instate schools....although with our Texas Tomorrow fund, they can go 2 years to any TX schools as an instate student. But she wants to be closer to home....although she does have some friends who will be going to UT Austin.

Wow--your trip is getting close!!:banana:

What does she want to major in TE?

She's thinking about History, but she's not sure. the closer it gets, the more unsure she seems---guess it's because it's "real"

She has expressed a lot of interest in making a lot of money without working a lot.....any suggestions??

She came up with "trophy wife" but remembered she needed "upfront" money for enhancements.....:rolleyes1

...glad to know she's taking a serious interest in her future! :rolleyes:

TE - good luck to her. JMU looks nice when we drive through it... ;) Glad she felt good about her match!

Z - yay! :cool1:

T - thanks for the understanding. :)

V - ::yes::

Janet - what a shocker. :lmao: I was up for VP of Fundraising. It was the only contested race on the ballot. It didn't sound as bad as I feared, but if I'd known someone else was running, I wouldn't have accepted the nomination. I'm probably of much more use staying with book fair for next year, you know? If I win, it's fine, but... I spread the word through my friend the volunteer coordinator that people shouldn't feel bad not voting for me, even if they like me. :rotfl:

Rosie - I'm sure you'll miss Phil, but it's good you'll still talk to him.

Taz - hope you have a good and magnet-thief free day. :hug:

*****************************************************
D didn't get in until well after 1:00 a.m. I got up and put the boys on the bus, etc., then in order to encourage him to get more sleep (also because it's still raining a bit here :rolleyes1) I went back to bed and we both slept in for a couple more hours. So, now, it's nearly noon and I've not done a dang thing today except for get my children to school. :rolleyes1

I don't know what D is up to today. I have to go to the grocery store at some point, but that's about it.

I hope you're all having a good day! BBL! :grouphug:

Ok.... who's ready for Round 1 of "NAME THAT FREAKY BRITISH SNACK!"?

Ok, Jo... what in the heck is this???

downsized_0331001001a.jpg

We don't do eggs until Saturday. Jimmy has discovered the Carmel cadbury's!
They're good aren't they!!!

OMG, I didn't even look for the pork pies...ewwww!!!
Name that freaky British treat! :rotfl2: ???
So did they have them and :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I want to join the English food game. My mom went to England a few years ago with my brothers school. She had someting called clotted cream. She swears it is good but I'm not so sure.
It's really really thick cream with milk from either Devon or Cornwall (counties right at the bottom of England) and it's traditionally served with scones and jam!

OMG, I am cracking up at T's guess the Brit food, but why is Jo answering?;)
Yeah, yeah, yeah :rolleyes1

We did the voting, but I've not found out if I won. I did lobby to not, so as to stick with book fair another year, though I kept having to say I'd serve happily if I win. ;) We'll see.

Hi All!!! Just dropping in. We're booked for my bday! :woohoo::woohoo:
And we got AKV! :yay::yay: Can't wait. It was a little more than what I wanted to spend, but oh well.
Yay!!!

Did it come in a can? I remember omething or other in a can. Have to check tomorrow.
Nope clotted cream comes in a carton like regular cream, it's incredibly thick the squirty cream is well just that squirty and full of air :rotfl2:

Clotted cream is the bomb-diggity. That is all.
Hi V!

Hi Fockers! shouldn't have checked in here on an empty stomach--clotted cream and pork bellies does not sound appetizing!

It's just as it says on the tin a treacle sponge pudding, it's just like a warm cake with syrup on, it's OK not my favourite, normally served with custard :goodvibes

You guys are cracking me up. :rotfl:

I don't know what's wrong with me that I can't be bothered to quote - I love you guys, but I'm feeling very blah with the weather and such, combined with the start of big stress book fair time. I'm sorry. :hug:

The weather had me too, I was so blah yesterday!

Welcome back Kat! Sounds like a great getaway. Pics?

Coming up actually...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not much going on today, just need to get the ebay stuff up and then menu plan for April and write the shopping list...oh and play some Diner Dash LOL.
Some highlights of the trip....
That night we went to PF Changs for the first time (it was in the convention center). It was yummy!
The next morning was spent waiting on what we refered to as "The Queue Line Ride" for about 5 hours waiting for the keynote speech. This is all that went on...Magic & Coffee from Dunkin.
There were free concerts fri and sat nights. For fri's I ended up in the room for a while, not really my cup of tea, but KC & Andy had front row standing spots and enjoyed it a lot. I saw the last act with them in the front but have no pics cause I left the camera in the room. Night 2 we decided to stay in the balcony and SIT because the first night went from 9-2am, as did the 2nd night. MUCH better to be sitting. Here is the crowd from our seats....
I told him I loved his speech and that he was my first crush when i was 12. KC said "real classy in front of her husband huh?" and Wil Said to KC "The heart wants what the heart wants". I was cracking up!
We mostly wandered the rest of the day taking in things we didn't do. We saw 2 "Chiptunes" shows, which is Nintendo sounds and stuff made into music. Then we took one more spin on the Queue Line Ride and went to the closing ceremonies/weekend tournament final round.
The tournament final ended up being a 4 classic game relay and they played live and won a trip to Germany! It was fun!
We headed to the bus after that, got into NYC at about 1am in the pouring rain and got to Brooklyn at about 3am.
We brought home 2 bags extra stuff....KC took some pics....
The same lowlife that stole the magnet I had on my van from Jimmy's school:sad2:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Arrived for jury duty at 9:00am....dismissed from jury duty at 9:34am:rolleyes1. Home now, going to take Jimmy to pick up our glasses, then he is going to "help" Jim wash his car. After that we are going to take my car up to the dealer for inspection, and then take Jimmy to the library!:thumbsup2
Beautiful day and it is going to 81 by SAturday, I am so excited:cheer2:
That low life really gets around. :lmao:
Jim actually expects to be home fairly early today. They had almost no custodies going down to court because of Passover. The Judges and lawyers want out early. If you're going to get jury duty this is the week to do it.
I already have my shorts out to get some color on my legs before my trip.
She is only looking at instate schools....although with our Texas Tomorrow fund, they can go 2 years to any TX schools as an instate student. But she wants to be closer to home....although she does have some friends who will be going to UT Austin.
Wow--your trip is getting close!!:banana:
I know my nieces both love the schools those schools. The younger one went to Christopher Newport but thought that was to much of a party school being so close to the beach.
My trip is getting close I am starting the countdown.
Taz - hope you have a good and magnet-thief free day. :hug:
So, now, it's nearly noon and I've not done a dang thing today except for get my children to school. :rolleyes1
I actually took the magnets off of the car which upsets Mikey. He keeps looking for them. His favorite game is name the characters wrong so that I pretend to be upset. :lmao:
I wish I could have slept in today. I have been running all day.
It's really really thick cream with milk from either Devon or Cornwall (counties right at the bottom of England) and it's traditionally served with scones and jam!
It's just as it says on the tin a treacle sponge pudding, it's just like a warm cake with syrup on, it's OK not my favourite, normally served with custard :goodvibes
I am actually looking forward to trying this on our trip. My mom loves it. Personally I think she is getting in touch with her English roots. She has questionable taste at times because she loves some weird foods. Steak and Kidney Pie come to mind. No offense if you like it but that just sounds bad.
Cake in a can. That sounds like WWII army food. :lmao:
++++++
Off to take my granddaughter to dance. She has been given strict orders to stay away from one of the girls in her class. The girl has ringworm and the mom keeps bringing her out. I do not need to deal with that. Evidently the girl's mother made a big deal about it at the youth group meeting the other day and my mom just got around to telling me. :confused3
Ok.... who's ready for Round 1 of "NAME THAT FREAKY BRITISH SNACK!"?
Ok, Jo... what in the heck is this???
Good to know---although if I tell Ab it's a party school, her interest will probably increase! She thought Coastal in Myrtle Beach sounded cool---but we don't live in SC anymore!
Is ringworm a real worm??
I'm dealing with some kind of skin problems with my goats--not sure what but one of them has sores on his legs. :sick: The ladies on my yahoo goat group are helping me figure it out. Treating for lice now but I don't think that's it.
I couldn't resist - I want to play, too. :rotfl2:
My regular grocery has several little international sections. I know what this is, but have to share:
038.jpg
And I wondered if these were the pickled onions, and wondered what the pickalilly or whatever is...
039.jpg
:thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear about it. Are you in Kidani or Jambo?
Kidani Savannah view, that's why it was little more than what I budgeted.
I'll take lots of pics :goodvibes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just here at work, but there's no management so :yay:

I'm leaving early though. I've decided to check out some Alumni thing from my University. Might as well make being an Alumni useful for something since my degree is collecting dust :guilty:

Not much, just reasearching Beach Club and becoming disappointed with some of the accomodations. I've been spoiled by SSR and even OKW. I can't believe the studio rooms only have 1 double and a pull out. What's up with that?! It's a deluxe resort you'd think they'd make it a little more swanky. But I guess location is what's making it Deluxe. :rolleyes:
