Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Well I had some purple curtains/drapes that fitted and didn't want to buy new so it's being painted purple :rotfl2: I wanted white with a touch of purple but got out voted by the girls so it's kind of a soft lavender!

SOunds good. Are you going to post pics when it is done?

We are thinking of grilling on Sunday, since we aren't any of us much traditionalists when it comes to Easter. ;)

I would grill on SUnday, bvut I think my husband's aunt, the nun, would be a bit offended;)

Speaking of, what color is good for a bathroom?

We are boring. Ours is [ainted white and then we bring in the color with the shower curtain, towels, etc/

D just got home, and I just got a call from the gym that we can play in the tennis social tonight (we were on the wait list.) Sadly, though, the older son of my tennis friend has made other plans - so we can't drop the kids at their house. But luckily, my neighbor and her son are free. We'll likely just let the kids play with her younger DS, then, if we're late, their DS13 will come over and turn babysitter, put them to bed, etc. :thumbsup2

Sounds like fun!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Jim is grilling and is almost done, I made the corn on the cob--that is my contribution:thumbsup2 Afterwards we are going to head outside and play for a bit. It is so nice out I hate to stay inside if we don't have too.

My neighbor is going out with her girlsfriends tonight, but her DH will bring their little girls out so Jimmy will play with them for a bit. HEr oldest is only 4, but Jimmy doesn't mind playing with her...once in a while.:rolleyes1

Speaking of, what color is good for a bathroom? The upstairs is a very pale blue, and I don't want them to match, necessarily. White toilet and tub. Either a black wood vanity with a white top, or a white wood vanity with white top. The floor that is in, that we're saving, is white tile with sand-coloured grout. The tub surround will likely be a stone tile with white-through-sand variations in the stone. I think if we go with the white vanity, I'll need a somewhat strong color to make it not look sterile, but it's a small room. The black vanity, I like better, but am not sure about it with the white/sand floor. And then I really don't know what color to go with...

If you go with the white vanity and white top, I would go with a nice shade of chocolate and accessorize with turquoise or a soft yellow.

If you go with the black, I would go with a more muted shade of camel or caramel.

Can you tell I love choosing paint colors? :lovestruc LOL!

Good luck! :thumbsup2

Evening I had a nice TREAT!!! I got to work and as there were no consumers home sooo I got to leave !!!!:banana:

I'm so jealous that many of you guys have such nice weather. its not cold, but dreary and sprinkling all afternoon.

I cant wait to see pictures of the newly painted rooms.

I havent heard of the bus accident. when did it happen?

Hey ladies. Happy Friday!

I am very messed up with the time of day that it is. we went to bed late last night and got up about 8 this morning to hit Ikea at opening.

KC asked "Does Ikea have a rope drop? They Should!"

We had our free breakfasts and did a bit of shopping. My MIL asked us to pick up some dishes for her and we picked up some stuff for us too.

Then we came home and napped a bit. Kc is working 3-12am so we are catching up on the dvr stuff. Not much else going on, we dont really do anything for easter so tomorrow we are grocery shopping, sunday is laundry and egg salad.

I did bake chocolate chip cupcakes today!! They taste like the best middle parts of a choc chip cookie. They dont even need frosting! If anyone wants the recipe lemme know!

Morning all. I read all your posts but haven't replied to any because of an allergy related migraine for the last couple of days. I also love and hate holidays because they are huge stressers for me and I don't even do anything. :lmao: I am off to do some shopping at Kohl's. I need to get a few things for my trip and they are having a huge sale. I also have an extra 15% or 20% off card and get $10 for every $50 I spend. I love Kohls. :goodvibes It is also going to be very warm today so I am opening the deck doors to air out the house.

I then have to come home and boil my eggs so that they are ready later when my grandkids come over to dye them. My SIL doesn't like the mess and their kitchen is to small anyway. I will have lots of pics of it though. I'm expecting to have a very colorful granddaughter. :rotfl2:

I also have to get all of my schoolwork caught up on as I have an exam this week and my paper due next week. I did nothing this week because of the migraine that wouldn't quit. I will be on from time to time so have a good day all.

Sounds pretty relaxing. :)

Ugh. I'm sorry.

The social was fun, but since the neighbor did us a favor, rather than having us pay her DS13, we felt like we had to come right home.

No biggie. It's a nice day again - the boys have already been outside for an hour - and D is planning on getting the new tub in today, as well as the new insulation.

I need a grocery run - we have apparently decided on grilling a "beer can chicken" tomorrow (which I've heard of, but don't know much about) and I'm going to do my favorite potato salad. It is a recipe from one of the best BBQ joints we had in TX. :thumbsup2 (Dawn, do you know the County Line? In El Paso, it's the State Line, but it's the same... I know there's a County Line in San Antonio...)

Anyway... I may also try to do a little yard work just to be outside. There's not a lot to do yet, especially since I broke the weed whacker... :rolleyes1 :lmao: The boys are wanting to plant some seeds. I am still not convinced that the cold weather is gone - even if it's 80 today - but the 10 day now looks pretty good, so maybe we're OK. :rotfl:

I hope you all have a great day! :thumbsup2

Kat you are my Guru of Cooking:cloud9::cloud9:
I know  there seem to be lots of accidents lately :sad1: did you see about the little English girl who got killed on Daytona Beach by a car?

Good luck  And I hope someone spots some pear drops soon :rotfl2:

I didn't see the report on Daytona Beach sooo sad:sad2:

As for Pear Drops Someone Please !!:worship::rotfl2:

Sorry for the delay on an update, Fockers!!!

Busy, busy,busy!!!

Thursday was Indianapolis day with Doug at IU Med. I only had 4 hours sleep when we left at 6AM. Slept when I got home then went shopping.

Had to get the yard mowed and sprayed yesterday because of rain today. Plus went to town to take Doug to Phys. therapy. (He's had 2 localized seizures and I don't want him to drive until Monday.) Bought a pressure washer as we do need one badly. Washed all 3 cars, not that they'll stay looking nice for long.
Broke the belt on the Grasshopper mower and had to run back to town to get a new one. I didn't get in until 6:30 PM. Needless to say I was beat.

I just plain feel beat-up today. However, no rest for the weary........
Got one coat of paint on the man-cave. I'm waiting for it to dry. Got laundry going. Doug vacuumed the carpets for me. I have to get a casserole cooked for the Easter dinner tomorrow. (I won't be going because I have to work.) I'm fixing tacos for us tonight. If I have time, I need to clean the inside of the Honda that we want to sell. :faint:

I will try to get an update on here in a little while.

If I have time, .

Because you have so much extra of that:rolleyes1:lmao:

+++++++++++++

Good afternoon all. Busy, busy day. I got up this morning. Made potato salad, macaroni salad, and banana pudding for tomorrow. I also prepped the green bean casserole so that is ready to go.

Jumped in the shower and now I am on my way to get a pedi. Then I have to drop something off at my girlfriends house. That should be a 5 minute stop. While I am doing that Jim is going to run and pick up his sister and bring her here for egg dying, which Jimmy is very excited for.

We grilled last night, so we are having left overs for dinner tonight, so that should be nice and easy.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.:goodvibes

Happy Easter!

It has been ages since I have been over here, sorry! I've been keeping up via Facebook though. :goodvibes

It has been such a beautiful Easter weekend so far! So warm and sunny, just fantastic. I spent the morning out working in the rose garden. Pretty much the only thing that needed to be done at this point was remove the millions of pine needles and cones that are littered all over the yard thanks to our neighbours tree that hangs over our fence.

I only have a few more weeks of school left and then it is summer break! It feels weird not having a Disney vacation planned for this summer. :sad1: That's okay though, we are headed out to our Dad's in British Columbia for two weeks in June and then we have a week in Toledo planned for my birthday in July. :goodvibes

Speaking of "family", it appears that my Dad and stepmother have ditched my stepsister Angelica in Italy. Maria and Angelica were supposed to fly over for a week during her March Break in order to visit Maria's father/Angelica's grandfather who just had major surgery. Well at the end of the week Maria came back without Angelica! I guess they decided it was about time that Angelica's father start taking care of her. I can't help but think though that they got tired of dealing with her behaviour (drugs, drinking, cutting) and so decided to saddle her deadbeat dad with the responsibility. :confused3

School has been going well, I'm still at the top of my class! :goodvibes The past few weeks our Anatomy prof has arranged for groups of us to go down and visit the Nursing simulation lab. It is really neat! It is set up just like a hospital room and they have 8 dolls (adults and babies) that they can program to have all sorts of disorders. They can even control the dolls movements and speech from another room where they observe us as we "treat" our patients. Of course since we are just there for visits we are not being assessed so they are just showing us all the different things they can program the dolls to do. In two weeks we get to see one of the dolls simulate childbirth! :thumbsup2

I just plain feel beat-up today. However, no rest for the weary........

Take care of yourself, too.

That was nice though!

It was, and it probably kept her DS9 happier than having his brother over here playing with his friends. :rotfl:

Jimmy wanted to plant yesterday too, but I think we are going to wait until May, just to be on the safe side.

We did seeds, and I truly hope we're past frost. I won't put in my annuals until May, for sure.

Congratulations! :goodvibes The lab thing sounds very cool.

Well, I am now the proud owner of a non-mustard yellow tub! :rotfl2: We all went to Home Depot, as D couldn't get it in my car by himself, but we had to take BOTH cars because the tub wouldn't fit if we had the kids' seats up. :rotfl:

D is afraid he's going to have to redo the whole floor now, though, after pulling up some yucky tiles from around the toilet. So, we spent some time looking at floor tiles, too, and found ones we like, but didn't buy them as we didn't have the measurements done.

Then, we got some sad news from D's dad. D's stepmom's mom has passed away. She was 92, and sick, so it's not unexpected or that awful, but it's always still sad, you know? They are doing a memorial service for her in FL where they were living - the husband is still alive and going to continue to live in the assisted living place there in FL. SMIL and her brother are both in the south, but not in FL.

Anyway, D can't decide if he should go to the service. I am not going to pull the boys for this (especially as I still expect that I'll have to pull them for my own grandmother before the end of the year) - they never met these step-great-grandparents, and frankly we barely see SMIL herself... But, D could go himself if need be. I don't know what to think. We've not seen them since our own wedding (they weren't well enough to travel to BIL's wedding last August) yet we do always get Christmas cards and stuff. Plus, of course, he'd be going more for SMIL than anything.:confused3

His dad didn't seem to be encouraging his coming on the phone today - I answered, and he didn't even say when the service was. But, SMIL is the type to get really offended by stuff like this...

Great job with school! :cheer2: Those dolls sound cool. I definitely want to hear more later after you guys get to deal with them a bit.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone has a good time dying eggs. We dont have any plans. It'll just be me and marc this weekend. Finally! He hasnt been home in about a month! Ive only seen him for the 2 days we went to DL.

The seeds my granddaughter planted last week are all coming up so I know she is going to want to plant them soon. It is hard to get a 5 y/o to understand that it is to early.

That is a lot of cooking. That's why I'm glad my dad insists we all have to go to my parents house. My mom gets to do all the cooking I just have to eat. :lmao:
I am waiting for my daughter to come over with the kids to do the eggs.

Happy Easter!

I won't put my plants out til I get back from Disney because I don't trust April weather. We have gotten snow in April in the past.

I hate home remodeling projects sometimes. They can turn in to way more than you bargained for.

Sorry about D's step-grandmother.

++++++++++++

I thought I would get a lot done today but have done nothing since I got home from Kohls. I did get some great deals and part of my grandson's birthday present. I boiled my eggs when I came home and then my kitchen sink wouldn't drain. Turned on the garbage disposal and that went dead. I did manage to get it started again but I think it needs to be replaced. I did talk to my brother and he's going to come up one day this week and replace it but I have to nurse it for the next couple of days.

I am going to Lowes when Jim gets home to buy the new disposal so I will have it and maybe buy some plants. They have one of my favorites on sale so I want to try and get them before they are all gone.

We plan on doing annuals, just have to decide what. Probably some impatients and some gerbera daisies and some begonias.

D is afraid he's going to have to redo the whole floor now, though, after pulling up some yucky tiles from around the toilet. So, we spent some time looking at floor tiles, too, and found ones we like, but didn't buy them as we didn't have the measurements done.

Never fails, one thing always leads to another.

Tell D we are sorry for his loss:hug:

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Egg dying done:woohoo: My brother stopped over with Jimmy's Christmas present:lmao: so he is contentedly building Star Wars Legos. My nephew got sick over the holidays so we never got to see them, so he was working his second job today and stopped by. I gave him my nephews gift too. Nothing like Christmas in April:rotfl:

Not much else happenening here.

UPDATE:

CE did a major clean-up of some old stuff. Their bathroom is getting it’s facelift. Her good friend had a baby boy.
Spring cleaning is the pits. I’m glad you are doing good at it. Congrats to your friend! I’d go with the sand color on the walls of the bathroom. Keep the vanity white. You can add some patterns with the towels and shower curtain.

TAZ also did some sorting of boxed clothes. Oh and some sorting of Easter traditions at the ‘new’ church. She is sick of the rain. She had a migraine too.
Sorry about the migraine. I get them with my allergies every so often also. I so need to go through some things. Maybe next week.

JO has been painting and golfing and eating Cadbury. She won her match, in the rain.
Congrats on the well-deserved win. I’m getting a kick out of all of the Brit food stuff. I don’t think we have a section with these things. I guess I’ll have to look.

ANGELA did well with the relatives. Reid likes his ‘blue’ room. Mitch got all the financial stuff taken care of for when he is gone. She said the pool looks great but the customer service sucked.
I keep forgetting to ask you if you will be joining the IP-DIPS on Oct. 23rd. You know you are welcome. It looks like we will be eating at Bongos.

JANET has been ‘HOPPING’ around like the white rabbit. She was dismissed from jury duty.
The jury duty thing is definitely a waste of your time. A half hour to wait for what you already knew. Crazy.

T is done with the cookie sales. She caught the kids playing with the inhaler and nearly had heart failure. She has a new grocer down the street that carries some Brit food. She got a new camera, Canon.
Yay on the cookies and the new camera. Thanks for making me smarter about Brit foods.:thumbsup2

KAT and KC had a great time at the convention. Pics at post #595. KC starts the new job in a couple of weeks.
Nice pictures. I played Magic a couple of times. I bet KC can’t stand waiting for the new job to start. I hope it goes well for him.

MO doesn’t think much of vegemite or Heinz baked beans.

Hey Mo!!!!

Z is planning F&W trip in Oct.
When?

ROSIE is busy and defending the Brit’s food that has been mentioned. She is getting some ‘oscopies’ done next week. Just for precaution.
Sending good thoughts!!!

V says clotted cream is good.
Hi V!

TE is doing college tours with Ab. Her goats have a skin problem.
I’m sure you’ll have a great time with Ab and your Hokie pride. Good luck on the goat problem.

CELBEL is feeling neglected by us. Read her wedding journal. She only has 4 classes this quarter.
Sorry, I have been so dang busy I didn’t notice your link until you said something. You need a breather.

LESSA is going to her Dad’s in a couple of weeks. One of her professors took them to the nursing simulation lab.

I hope that this trip to your dad's is better with the step-mom.
OK, that lab sounds interesting and a bit freaky. Manicans, dolls, etc. always give me the creeps anyway. Congrats on the grades too!!!

Gotta go do the Mexi-feast!! Have a great weekend!

Evening Fockers !!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter tomorrow !!! We are having dinner around 3pm as I am working (Time and a half )
I have aham to cook and potatoes and some chees cauliflower AND a TURTLE cake for dessert !!Yummy!!!!!!!As usual I got the kids summer clothes for Easter !!!The girls I hit aeros online sale and did relly well Kyle is just Wallyworld stuff !!:rotfl2:

Unless something changes Iam OFF all day Monday !!!!:banana::banana:

Happy Easter Ladies!

I hope all is well with you all. We're readying for the bunny. Tink fell into the egg dye tonight and hopefully coming clean in her bath. Ds is hid his basket from the bunny and thinks it won't be found. :cool2:

Other than that... it's going to be a small crowd fro Easter (just my little bro's).

Something you may not know... My DH is now traveling all week... EVERY week. :headache: He flies to Michigan and then comes home for the weekends. He is working on a project there and apparently they were not able to find someone local, so they pulled him from his project and sent him there. The bad is that he's gone all week and I'm a single parent, the good is that he'll be up for a great promotion when the project goes live at the end of the year.

I'm checking in more often and try to keep up. Hi to the newbies! I'm Jen, a SAHM to 2 kids and very active in our school PTA.

The baskets are filled and in my room !! The Easter Bunny went out and may be a little hung over i the morning !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: She's still doing dishes !!!!:lmao:
