Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Good morning!

Mel, sounds nice! I have an easy morning, but then it gets busier. I stayed up too late - watched the end of the Oscars (which was midnight) and then for whatever reason I had trouble falling asleep. So, I may actually return to bed for a bit. I need to do Target at some point, and am thinking I'd rather go before tennis than after...

I have nothing to do today! Because I have to wait for a delivery. So I'll be doing laundry and ironing. We had another Braves game yesterday which Reid seemed to enjoy. He actually like watching the ground crew prepare the field with water and chalk lines. He's such a boy. :rotfl:

When I got my nails done yesterday, I needed a new set, so I got a wild hair and had her do a French manicure. I always wear red, so it feels like someone else's nails are on my hands. Weird.

This weather the weather is supposed to be where it should be. :thumbsup2

Hopefully some of you will be around today. :goodvibes

Glad you're having nice weather!

I feel that way when my nails are nice and I go dark... ;) I'm a biter, but for instance, right now, I have them looking pretty nice - must not be stressed. So, if I go dark, I find myself looking at them weird!

What kind of delivery? popcorn::

I'm ready for baseball (the professional kind - the 7 year old kind is a killer...:rotfl:)

Up included....

You didn't miss much by not seeing it;)

Nothing exciting here. Made chicken noodle soup and corn bread for dinner. Went out for an afternoon coffee date with NotBob. Then we walked around town for about an hour. The sun was out but it wasn't terribly warm. And the sidewalks are TREACHEROUS! Dang melting snow, ice, slush! But, it was nice to be out anyway.

Sounds nice.

Hi everyone, I am behind again as usual. I read the thread a lot but haven't had time to post. Bill's parents came from Indiana today and that is always a little
nerve wracking. Bill is running a temperature and I am worried about him. He is drinking a lot of fluids and I finally got him to lay down and rest.

I really enjoy this thread and I hope to try to keep up this week, things around here are caught up so I am going to try my best :thumbsup2.

Why nerve racking? Do you not get along? Hope Bill is feeling okay:goodvibes

Sure, sure, then I turn the stupid Oscars on just in time for the John Hughes retrospective, and I cried...

I turned it off when it started;)

Ok 16 pages later and I'm checking in!

I have not read to catch up, but thought I'd look for the new thread.

I've been so ridiculously busy at work that I get home tired and just pass out for the next day. I am so ready for a vacation.

Hi everyone!!! :::wave:::

:Wave2: Hi Z!

Nothing going on here at all! Getting kids on the bus and hanging out in my jammies all day.
Ah, Monday!

Enjoy!:goodvibes

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Sunny and going up to 57 today:woohoo: Good start to the week. Jimmy got up without an argument. Had breakfast, without an argument. Left for school, without an argument. :woohoo:

I am at work and have a ton of carp to do, but I wanted to check in with my favorite Fockers:goodvibes Have a good day everyone:flower3:

Morning! I know I'm not posting much, but I am reading along when I have time and trying to stay caught up on everything. :grouphug: You guys are in my thoughts, even if I'm not online!

It's still all drama, all the time around here. Way too much going on with work, the never-ending refi (no, it's STILL not closed), and Bonehead. But Leo's been doing great, so that helps temper the rest. :goodvibes

Happy Monday all - have a good week! :flower3:

 for the drama, but :cool1: for Leo. School getting straightened out?

What have i missed? I need a Kristel update.

Still sick. Not as bad as before but this virus is taking its slow a#@ time getting out of me. I can eat food but I am really weak still and need to lay down a lot. KC got it real bad yesterday and is feeling it some today too. He is only eating a tiny bit. We had to go out for more gatorade tho, so the fresh air was nice.

Anyways staring at the screen kinda makes me dizzy so I ma going to lay back down. Hope everyone's having a good weekend!

Feel better Kat!! I have a nasty cough/cold that started yesterday ! I woke up this a.m. with NO voice:scared1: Some might say YAY!!!:yay:

No it was through a shoe shop :thumbsup2

Good luck to him :goodvibes

Don't wear yourself out

Yep Marks & Spencers it's about our oldest shop but up to date IYKWIM and sells everything from clothes to homeware to food and it's all very good quality :thumbsup2 It's kind of an institution :rotfl2:

Thanks for the concern Jo!!

Hi back at you Z!!:yay::yay:

Morning all.
Tracey - I hope Bill is OK. I get the in-law thing. My MIL lived 10 minutes away and I stressed every time I saw her.

Janet - you missed a really fun time Saturday night. We were there almost to closing time. We had baseball sign-ups in the NE already. My grandson was called for a try-out for the elite team and he refused to do it. Of course my son is upset, I think it's the male ego thing. He can brag that his son is on THAT team.

+++++++++++
The weather is so nice right now that I can't help but think it's the calm before one last laugh from mother nature. :lmao:

I am not going to bring everyone down with my lousy weekend so have a good day all.

I am too. Baseball makes me happy. :goodvibes

Monday's looking good.

Mitch's uncle passed away this morning. :sad2: Even though I didn't know him that well, it really upset me for some reason. His wife was my MIL's sister and since Mitch's mother died, Joanne has tried to be there for Mitch. She has 7 children of her own, but she'll call just to check on him. They live in Jacksonville, so when he went for work, he'd stop by to say hi. I don't think he'll be back in time for the funeral, but I don't think I'll go. I thought I'd send some flowers to Joanne in a few weeks time when everything calms down.

I am so looking forward to baseball. I coach TWO teams. I haver a T-ball team and will have three of my grandkids on it. They are so much fun at this age. If I can teach the kids not to tackle each other every play I will have done a good job. I also coach my oldest grandsons traveling team with my son. Last night we decided to get tickets to the Phillies opening day.:woohoo:

I am liking MOnday so far since the weather is really nice.

So sorry for your loss.

My F & G pics are on FB. I still like last year's better. :upsidedow

I am going down in about 6 weeks for the F & G show. I have never been to one before. Since I haven't anything to compare this year's too I am hoping it will be good.

Fun! That is a great thing for Mitch to do when Reid gets older. :thumbsup2

Last night we decided to get tickets to the Phillies opening day.:woohoo:
I've never been to opening day although when the Braves open with the Reds, we always watched with my grandparents as they were from Cincy.

And cookies! ;)
Thankfully I don't have to sign for those. :rotfl:

I just started a biography of Louis Armstrong. It's good but won't be light reading. If I didn't have a stack of other books to get to, I wouldn't care. ;)

Jo - are trying to show us how British you are;)
Of course :snooty: :rotfl2:

HOw did she win?
When we went into the shoe shop they were giving away special packs of trump cards, well some of them had a special code in (Jessica's did but Ellie's didn't) you then had to input that online for a chance of winning :thumbsup2 Oh and :p about UP! :rotfl2:

Bill's parents came from Indiana today and that is always a little nerve wracking. Bill is running a temperature and I am worried about him.

Hi All! :goodvibes

First time on this thread. What does FOCKER WATCH mean?:confused3
Hi :wave2: This thread was originally started when a group of people wanted to spot each other in the parks and we came up with the idea of using the 2 fingered I'm watching you look like in the film meet the Fockers, hence the title. Now we are so friendly we chat everyday about normal stuff and of course meet up whenever we can. We welcome newbies so just start chatting and tell us about yourself :thumbsup2 BTW I'm Jo from England (although this horrible lot always tease me saying that as I don't drink tea or watch Monty Python I couldn't possibly be a Brit :rotfl2:) I'm a SAHM to 2 girls and I play loads of golf, oh I also was on the WDW Moms Panel last year so if you want to read a bit of a different TR check out my siggie :goodvibes

Mitch's uncle passed away this morning. :sad2:
I'm sorry

Well we went to paint our bedroom ceiling today and found that a mouse had left lots of ummmm deposits all over the dust sheet which was in the garage  so we really didn't want to use it to cover the bed :rotfl2: Any excuse to get out of it huh :rotfl2: We then went to golf where David caddied for 9 holes and we rowed as he was telling me what to do and I just thought he was critising me :rotfl2: Fun times :rotfl:

The weather is so nice right now that I can't help but think it's the calm before one last laugh from mother nature. :lmao:

I keep thinking the same thing about the weather. ;)

Sorry you had a bad weekend, you know we're good for a vent, right?

Hi All! :goodvibes

First time on this thread. What does FOCKER WATCH mean?:confused3

Jo explained, but welcome! I'm CE, SAHM to twin boys who'll be 8 next month. I'm a mod on the TR boards, but have no power here, so don't be scared. :rotfl:

I'd wait at home for that, too.

We always say, "NO PIG PILES!" :rotfl:

Sorry, no time to quote! :moped:

Good Morning! Hi! Bye! BBL! :wave2:

Hi, sweetie!

We then went to golf where David caddied for 9 holes and we rowed as he was telling me what to do and I just thought he was critising me :rotfl2: Fun times :rotfl:

Sounds lovely. :rotfl2:

****************************************************
Man... I feel like I've been running. Tennis was good, then I booked it to Target and then booked it home $88 later.

The kids are doing their homework now (they have been home for only about 15 minutes) because they want to do some playing before we head out for karate. I need a shower, I think - unless I decide I want to walk during their karate, rather than read.

I've put away laundry and put more in, taken care of some recycling and done some Book Fair e-mailing. Phew!

I am at work and have a ton of carp to do, but I wanted to check in with my favorite Fockers:goodvibes Have a good day everyone:flower3:

Bill's Mom is an OCDish cleaning freak, I catch her glancing all around the apartment looking for dust :rotfl: it drives me nuts like we are having some type of inspection or something. Also, Bill's grandma came with them and Bill's Mom doesn't particularly like her so you can cut the tension with a knife. It is never a comfortable visit when they all come.

I am so happy to hear the morning went so well with Jimmy!! I hope things are going well at work and you are having a good day.

V, I am so sorry you are having all these troubles. I hope the work situation straightens out soon, having all that drama has to mess with moral. The refi thing would drive me insane. It's great to hear Leo is doing well.

Morning all.
Tracey - I hope Bill is OK. I get the in-law thing. My MIL lived 10 minutes away and I stressed every time I saw her.

Bill is feeling better today, thank you for asking. Sometimes with his CP his body just says "enough, I will give you a fever to make you rest" otherwise he just pushes himself too much.

We talk about the good and bad here, don't worry about bringing people down .

Hi All! :goodvibes

First time on this thread. What does FOCKER WATCH mean?:confused3

Hi, welcome!!

Mitch's uncle passed away this morning.

 So sorry to hear about Mitch's uncle.

My F & G pics are on FB. I still like last year's better. :upsidedow

Part of me wants to go look at them, part of me wants to not see any F&G pics to surprise myself when we are there for the last weekend of the festival. I don't know if I can make myself stay away from all the F&G pictures for 66 more days.

I am going down in about 6 weeks for the F & G show. I have never been to one before. Since I haven't anything to compare this year's too I am hoping it will be good.

I hope you have a great time!

Ewww about the "deposits", a great excuse not to do the painting though :thumbsup2. Sounds like you had so much fun golfing :rotfl2:.

I am thinking about getting my nails done before our next trip, I have never had them done before. Do you happen to have any tips for me?
Not really. ;) When I first met Mitch, we went to a military ball, so I had them put on. 16 years later, I still haven them. My nails were always painted, and tips just keep them looking nicer longer. :thumbsup2

I honestly believe your body does that when you're not resting enough. Glad he's better. :goodvibes

The flowers will look differently when you get there in 66 days. :rolleyes1

I keep thinking the same thing about the weather. ;)

Man... I feel like I've been running. Tennis was good, then I booked it to Target and then booked it home $88 later.

I will have to remember the NO PIG PILES. :lmao: I love the little guys and thankfully the games are no more than an hour. At the 3,4 and 5 y/o level they have the attention span of a gnat. The little girls want to stare at the flowers and I always have a runner. Last year it was my grandson. I had him attached with his safety leash to my belt. :rotfl2:
I used to play tennis years ago and loved it. Five knee surgeries later I don't play anymore.

I understand the OCD cleaning. My MIL took the fancy towels my aunt made for me to clean my apartment when I had my son. I never used them and she ruined them and then had the nerve to say I was rude for telling her what I thought of it. I'm glad Bill is feeling better. He needs to take care of himself.
I did check out pics from the F&G exhibits. I am like a little kid sometimes and couldn't wait. :lmao: I am really looking forward to it.

+++++++
I really could use a vent about my weekend. My grandson has a speech delay. It is most likely due to a hearing loss. I have been fighting the system and my SIL for 2 years to have his hearing tested. I knew that eventually other kids would notice that he talks different and tease him. The little girl I take home from school started Friday afternoon and my granddaughter joined in. We explained to my granddaughter that her brother is special and she needs to tell people that. My DIL babysits the little girl so she was talked to also.
I was just really down all weekend because I knew that this day would come and it will get worse before it gets better. I want to protect Mikey because he is such a special little boy. Fortunately he is so good natured that he laughed along with them. This will change as he realizes that he is being teased.
This could have all been prevented if the dr and my SIL listened to me when I said there was something wrong. I am with that child every day. My mom went off when I told her because she hates my SIL and blames him for everything. Then she started on my daughter again because she listens to my SIL. Mikey also has behavioral issues and we don't know if they are linked to the hearing. Of course that is because he is a BOY according to my SIL.
I just want to make everything better for that little guy and it really hurts me that I can't. Then I get stuck between my mom and my daughter. We see the ear specialist next week so at least I'll have an idea where his hearing levels are at.
I know I am probably too involved but since I watch the kids every day and am my daughter's transportation I have to be. My hubby is out of town again so I have no one to talk to today. I do appreciate you all letting me get this out. It does help.

Oh well now I need to go buy food for the dog and cats. I'll talk to you all later.
