Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hello All,

V said the Birthday trip was a success. She has been fighting her allergies all spring.
Hugs for your allergies. I’m glad you had a good trip for Leo’s B-day.

TE had to throw out the ‘deluxe’ washer from hell for a cheaper model from Lowe’s.
Wow! That sucks. I have a Maytag front loader. It is 4 years old - so far, so good. (It will probably blow up tomorrow now that I’ve said that.) I will say that if I ever need another washer, it will be Maytag. I am looking at dishwashers right now. It seems that all the reviews of every brand say the same thing, “It did great for the first 6 months….” So I think I’ll go cheap on that. Probably Lowe’s.

CE’s gran is now able to keep some food in her belly. She had a close tennis match. It was outside on clay. Septic issues that cost her a bit too.
Ugh on the septic. I keep wondering when ours will fail. We’ve had so much rain in the last couple of weeks. I’m glad to hear that your gran is doing a little better.

KAT and KC did some bikes at the gym and she is finally getting to work for the census.
All I can tell you on the gym is take it easy for the first couple of weeks. If you end up hurting yourself, you’ll not want to work out ever again. I’m like V. I mostly do elliptical, speed walk on a treadmill, and free weights. Walking really helps my back.

JANET bumped the former chairperson for the book sales. The sales were good. They were going to see Ironman.
Sounds like you were the woman for the job. I hope Jimmy liked the movie.

JO is getting lots of goodies, even at golf. She thinks Boo is a slag. Jo said she hurt her back.
Congrats on getting some ‘wins’ at golf and all your prize entries. Shame on Boo! I always put ice on my back first thing when I pull something. Please be careful with it.

Z is getting fed up with the room hunt for her trip. She did get some scapping done.
Dang, I’m sorry about the room situation. I’d be so frustrated by now.

ROSIE pulled an extra long shift for filing the other day. She went to a staff recognition dinner that is served by the upper management. They had a tea party the other night with the consumers.
OOO having your bosses serve you sounds grand!!! The tea parties sound fun! Please take care of yourself with all the work.

RACHEL bought a house in WV. It should be done by mid-June. She is preggers too!
Awesome news!!!!!! Congratulations. We have missed you!

TAZ has a sinus infection due to her allergies. Her grandson’s team is undefeated. He hurt his thumb which could take him out of the games for a while.
Poor baby. That is just terrible for him. My allergies weren’t that bad this year. I have no clue why. Do you ever outgrow them?

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

I’ve been super busy with the yard and cleaning. I do feel a bit better since I was able to plant some trees and flowers.

Doug and I had a short talk about recent events. (He has been having some small seizures in his foot. They zap his strength and cause him to have trouble walking again. Plus he drove his car while I was gone. This is a big no-no!) I thought I had gotten through to him. Today it was the same as always. I can’t help him if he is not willing to help himself. After I reiterated what we had discussed a couple of days ago, he went for a walk. I shouldn’t have to keep scolding him to get him to do something.

I know this is harsh but I also told him that I want him to be able to take vacations with me. If he can’t, I will go without him. End of story. It’s very frustrating. I am walking a very thin line between wanting to be there and wanting to run away.

He is still not able to use his right hand. We will be filing for SS disability next week. I will help him with that. I am not looking forward to it.

He has PT tomorrow at 11A. I work tonight until 6A. Yay for me. I’ve asked him to get better times for the days that I work.

Fortunately, tonight is the only day I work until Saturday. We are going on a tour of southern Indiana wine makers on Tuesday and Wednesday with a local travel agency. A friend of mine is going with us. We will be staying at Belterra Casino Resort on Tuesday evening:Belterra. This is a birthday gift to me from me.

That’s it for now.

Hugs to all.

My poor sweetie had a great conversation with her mirror reflection:lmao: at least this time the reflection wasn't mean :rotfl2::rotfl2: You have to have a sense of humor !!
Awww bless :goodvibes

Oh Kristel :hug::hug::hug: You know we're here if you want to vent :hug: Have fun on your trip :goodvibes

Well I played golf, at times I looked as though I was about 90 though :rotfl2: but we lost :sad2: Only on the last hole, they had lots of luck and we had none :sad2: but I suppose that's how it goes sometimes! Oh well there are always my matches on Wednesday and Thursday :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Oh and I think I know what did my back in, on Friday I was putting together a garden swinging chair/bench thing, the worst bit is not that it did my back in but that one bit didn't fit so they need to send me a replacement :headache: :rotfl2:

I always find working in the garden is a great way to relax and deal with problems.

I hope Doug is feeling better. It's hard when someone doesn't want to face the realities of their illness but it must be frustrating for him also. It's hard to lose your freedom.

Take a vacation without him if you need to. You won't be any good to anybody if you burn out. You have a lot to deal with and sometimes the need to run away is a good thing. It gives you a chance to recharge your batteries and the ability to deal with everything.

Good luck with SS. Even though he should get it right away don't be surprised if they turn you down. It's a game they like to play there.

Have fun on your little trip to wine country. It's something I'd like to do here in PA one time. Of course it's so close I can do it in a day trip.

Oh and I think I know what did my back in, on Friday I was putting together a garden swinging chair/bench thing, the worst bit is not that it did my back in but that one bit didn't fit so they need to send me a replacement :headache: :rotfl2:

It's nice that you figured out your back. Is it feeling better? I hate when there is a part that needs to be replaced on something new. It's frustrating.

++++++++++++

Not much going on here. I was at the ball fields from 8:30 yesterday morning for pics until after 12 noon for jay's baseball game. He was so frustrated not being able to play and they lost their first game. :sad1: He sees the dr tomorrow and is really hoping she'll tell him he's all better and can play in the game on wednesday. :rotfl2: I don't think that's happening. He will have to be content to watch from the side lines and be a :cheer2:. Hopefully he will get some good news though and it will be a short time on the DL.

I am still working on getting my pics organized and resized online. I had some printed yesterday and am not real happy. I think the machines had a problem because almost all of them have black streaks across the back and some are even torn as if they jammed in the printer. I'll be back there tomorrow complaining.

Oh well I am off to watch Jay's team play another game while he watches. Have a good night all.

Hi Fockers, gawd, when did I stop by last????

Kristel - :hug: I hope things get better

Rachel - WOOHOO, congrats.

Jo - your cat is a what?!?!?!:lmao

CE - :hug: for Grandma

I don't remember what else, hope everyone is doing great.

I had a hellish week. I had to fire someone this week, it is the hardest/worst part of being management. I tried to work with this girl for months, she is so bright but just wouldn't apply herself and every other staff member complained to me about her. I actually cried in the car going home. My heart breaks for her as she had so much potential.

Some members of other teams that she hung out with gave me the death glare as she was packing her desk. Yet when it came time for her to go out to her car, who was the one that was there. Me. Her "friends" had already gone home. I hugged her and told her if she needed to talk or needed advice I would still be there for her.

UGH!!!

Now to pick up and move forward I guess. Timing sucks as I am leaving for vacation Thursday night. I'm in the office 3 days and then working from home Thursday. I'm then out until June 1st.

Speaking of which, I spent today finalizing my outfits and packing. Stuff is still on hangers, but everything else is in the bag. Just got to fold the stuff on hangers.

I may just collapse when they close the cabin door. Just wake me up when we land in Rome.

So that's my life in its current state.

I'll try to stop by before I leave, if not CIAO!

Oh well there are always my matches on Wednesday and Thursday

Ya know Jo, yu just don't play enough golf. You need to practice, practice, practice:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Hopefully he will get some good news though and it will be a short time on the DL.

Keeping my fingers crossed:goodvibes

Ugh, that stinks, but you have to do what is right for the company:hug:

Happy Monday all. In work early so I can take Jimmy to his therapist appointment because Jim has a softball game today. However if his game is cancelled (it looks like rain) he will take him and I will just stay until regular time and save my extra time for another day.

Not much planned, but I am hoping his game isn't cancelled becasue then it just screws up the schedule for the rest of the week becasue playoffs are supposed to start tomorrow, but they won't if today is rained out.:headache:

Hope you all have a great day. Will check back later:goodvibes

I am walking a very thin line between wanting to be there and wanting to run away.
Totally understandable Kristel; I think I'd have the same struggle in your shoes. :hug::hug::hug: I'm so sorry you guys are going through this.

Oh well there are always my matches on Wednesday and Thursday
:thumbsup2 Good luck Jo, don't push too hard!

Hi Fockers, gawd, when did I stop by last????
Hi Mo! :hug: FWIW, I think you sound like a wonderful manager! It's never easy, though, is it? :hug:

If we don't see you here again, have a marvelous trip! :goodvibes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning! We had an interesting weekend: a friend's son's Bday party, swimming, the Preakness (I lost, Leo won), Iron Man 2 and the Survivor finale. Also, trips to the grocery store, drugstore, produce stand and Target. I'm exhausted, lol!
Wow I can't believe they gave them to you in that state, hope they sort it :goodvibes
I know, very un-British don't ya think? :rotfl2:
Wow that sounded busy!!!!
D and I went for a walk to see if it would ease my back, I was OK, just getting twinges but it now hurts as much as before so it didn't work :rotfl2: He is now asleep on the sofa, he is working so many hours it's ridiculous and he had another one of his migraine things on Friday :sad2: Hopefully he'll go and play ping pong once the girls get home which will perk him up :thumbsup2
Tomorrow evening Ells has the dress rehersal for her dancing show so Jess and I are dropping her off and going to the mall :thumbsup2
UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH! Our computer system went down for the last 2 hours so I have gotten absolutely nothing done. COuldn't do anything, email, internet, nothing! What a freaking pain in the butt:headache:
Afternoon ladies.
Just a quick drive by as I slept late and have a ton to do this afternoon and I just really hope to get it done.
Had a nice weekend. We went to the in-laws yesterday and then to buy some tables at Target (tv table type things) and never made it to Costco.
Today I need to get some more done but its hard 'cause KC is off. Also to get to the gym for at least an hour would be good too, plus cooking dinner at some point as well.
Anyways I'm off!
Well, this is the deal. For a long time, we've been able to "see" each other's libraries and play the songs. And, we're both "authorized" on the other's laptop. We used to get around the download issue by just sharing the library folder over our network and grabbing stuff through Windows sharing - but iTunes is supposed to be easier now to actually get the music by setting up "home sharing" under the "advanced" tab. Both computers are supposed to have to be signed in under the same user name THERE (not in the iTunes store area...)
If we're both signed in as either of us, I can grab his music and download songs into my laptop, so they'll be there even when his computer isn't, but he can't seem to get my library to do anything but play... I don't know why - we're both running the same iTunes and Windows. And, I'm having trouble doing it the old way by network sharing through Windows, for no apparent reason. :confused:
I have no idea what this means. :rotfl:
we will be adding a 4th child to the family! i am about 10 weeks pregnant. i've known for about 5 weeks, but wanted to have my first appt with the doctor before i told too many people. but, all is well so far. saw baby's heartbeat on ultrasound.
:dance3: Congratulations!
I can’t help him if he is not willing to help himself.
:hug: My mother is that way too, and it's so frustrating.
I'll try to stop by before I leave, if not CIAO!
Have a fabulous time and take lots of pictures! :yay:
Have I mentioned that I don't like when Mitch is gone? ;) Keeping the pool clean is not difficult, but requires lots of time because I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing. And the lawn people broke the sprinkler head again. I know how to fix it, but getting the pipe unscrewed is very difficult. On the positive less laundry and less food shopping. :thumbsup2
My friend and her friends came to visit another friend, so I spent the weekend at the coast with them. They are all from Nashville and were talking about the flooding mess. Luckily none of them had any damage, but it sounds terrible.
I went to another water aerobics class this morning and I actually like it. Kat, that would be great for your back since it's no impact. It's a deep water class, but you wear a flotation belt, so you can concentrate on the exercises and not staying afloat. You also work at your pace, so it's as much or little as you can do. :thumbsup2
For some reason I was not having a good day Friday and whilst in the doctor's office, burst into tears. Really must stop that. :rolleyes: The PA was in there with me and knew about Mitch. I thought I was ok, but when the doctor came in, I lost it again. She did give my a prescription for anti-depressants and a sleeping pill. :thumbsup2 Good thing I have been going to her for awhile because she knew that was not my normal demeanor. She also told me to take up an instrument because for some reason playing music makes you feel better. Now I just have to tell my mother I need my grandmother's antique baby grand. :lmao:Even though no one plays, she'd be :eek:. I do feel better now, but I didn't tell Mitch about the doctor. I will tell him I'm on the meds, but I don't want him to worry when he has enough to worry with.
On that uplifting note... :goodvibes Who's got a trip planned?
No school tomorrow, or is this after school:confused3
Sorry it's after school!
UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH! Our computer system went down for the last 2 hours so I have gotten absolutely nothing done. COuldn't do anything, email, internet, nothing! What a freaking pain in the butt:headache:
Just had the evening from hell, OK I'm exagerating but between Ellie dropping a load of glassware out of the cupboard, David dropping a load of grated cheese on the floor and various other things it was fun fun fun :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
Have I mentioned that I don't like when Mitch is gone?
Oh Ang! :hug::hug::hug: I've had the sudden tears at the Dr. thing happen, too. I'm glad they're able to help - hang in there hun!
OMG, what a night! :hug::headache:
So very, very tired... trying to stay awake... just one more hour... ish... :rotfl:
Is it a night flight?
Yep 5:35 on Thursday!!!!
Hi Mo! :hug: FWIW, I think you sound like a wonderful manager! It's never easy, though, is it? :hug:
Thanks V!
Have a great trip and relax :goodvibes
Thanks JO!
Paddy O'Prado and Suer Saver. Leo took Super Saver and Lookin at Lucky. I'm having him place all of my future bets. ;)
Um, could he make mine too:rolleyes1
*******************************
SO I squeezed in one more trip the sadistic foot dr.
Since the foot is not doing so great he gave me a double treatment, OMG:headache:
I'm sitting here with the foot elevated and iced and I'm what you might call medicated:rolleyes1
But it should help get me through my trip (well that and some good drugs;))
Sorry Angela - I thought I quoted you, I'm heading down in September and have some (what I think) are good ADR's, you are more than welcome to join me at any or all. (LeCellier, Il Mulino, Puffy goodness, can't remember the others now) And maybe we could hit the Talbot's outlet one day.
And for those counting I am under the 72 hour mark:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Had a nice dinner with Reid and my sister. We went to Chilis because Reid likes chips. :rotfl: I made some brownies to take last weekend and had some left over to take to Reid. He likes dessert too. :goodvibes
:hug::hug: I really wish I had a trip planned. I really am having Disney withdrawal! It also looks like July's quickie trip is out, but it's better for us to sacrifice this year and get our debt in order...blah blah I miss Mickey...blah. Hope you're feeling better!
Just had the evening from hell, OK I'm exagerating but between Ellie dropping a load of glassware out of the cupboard, David dropping a load of grated cheese on the floor and various other things it was fun fun fun :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Got a whole lotta nuttin done today LOL. It was a true day off, we even napped. Oh well. Tomorrow I am hoping, will be more productive.

Now I am writing my Monday blog entry and catching up online.

Nighty Night!

My sleeping pill didn't work so well last night as I was up at 4.30. :rolleyes: But I have a hair appointment and then I can rest a bit. One of Mitch's employees had a death in her family, so I'll go to the visitation later, but that's all. :goodvibes

I'm having him place all of my future bets.
:

Can he pick the power ball numbers for me:confused3

So Jim's team, that we though wouldn't make the playoffs won their last 5 games so they are in. They were supposed to strat today, but it is pouring rain (until tomorrow apparently:headache:) so the game has been pushed back to Thursday.

Today is primary election day so schools are opening 90 minutes late. Why? I have no idea. Just to annoy the parents I guess? They were supposed to be closed today but list the day due to all the snow. They use some of the schools as polling places and the election commision is ticked that they are opening because this is a "huge" primary and there is going to be a huge turnout. Um, I don't think so. Jimmy and I went to vote at 8:00 (an hour after the polls opened) and I was number 14:confused3 SO all they did was make parents scramble to make arrangements to get their kids to school at 10:00:headache:

Not much else going on. Will check in later:goodvibes:hug:.

Angela:hug::hug and hang in there !!

Kat I too am having Disney withdrawel:scared1:

Jo sorry about your bad evening:hug:

I took Kyle to the dentist for 2 fillings this morning , he was soooooo good !! He goes to a pediatric dentist and they are wonderful with him!!He has stopped playing now as he is into collecting scrap metal to sell !!:scared1:Beside my house looks like a junk yard !! He serches the neighborhood and then if something is to big has Judy go with the van to pick it up:scared1:On saturday they are taking it to the junk yard !! I think it is great that an 8year old is earning his own money!!! :thumbsup2
I have to be at a meeting at noon and then working till 8pm !! At least it is a shorter day !! Soooo maybe I'll get some Dis time !!!
