Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hi Peeps! :wave:

Who sent the heat??? :eek: It got crazy hot over the weekend! It's only supposed to last for a few days, so that's good. We're taking advantage of it and spending lots of time in the pool.

Andy's been working so much lately that we just chillaxed all weekend. We're in the market for a new car, so we went to a couple of car dealers. We didn't buy anything as we are torn between two different cars. Andy likes the Honda Pilot and I like the Chevy Traverse. At least we agree what ever car we get, it has to be black. :laughing:

Let's see what I can remember:

Rosie: Glad to hear Kyle's ok, but OMG! I would have flipped out! :scared1:

Angela: Nice ink! :thumbsup2

Jo: Enjoy your childless week! What I wouldn't do for one of those! :teeth:

TE, Mo and Janet: Lovin' you mini TR's!

Hi Mel, Dawn, Taz and Kat. :wave2:

Hi all! Just a quick check in from me. The first day back at work STUNK! Busy as heck and still have tons to do:headache:

Rosie - Great pics
Angela :faint:
Hi T, Jo, CE :wave2:

++++++++++++++++++

While I was at work today Jim went to Staples and got us a new laptop:thumbsup2 and a camera for Jimmy for his birthday next week. My baby is going to be 7!!!! ALthough I am a bit jealous. He is going to have a better camera than Jim or I:headache:

He is taking phoitography at camp this week and is so into taking pictures. I figure instead of camp next year I am going to take him to visit Aunt V and Aunt Angela for some lessons;) He has a good eye for framing a picture too.

THe laptop is a Toshiba. GOt a great deal and they gave us $50 credit for our 12 year old laptop....yeah it was about time to replace it no:confused3:lmao:

Tomorrow I am having dinner with my girlfriends, Thursday Jim and I both have doctors appointments (15 minutes apart in the same office but different doctors). He is going to for his shoulder and I am going in for the annual check:headache: After that we are going to pick up a few things for Jimmy's birthday.

Friday we are having outdoor movie night. I don't know what I was thinking but we invited all the kids from his class last year (20) pkus all his not school friends, so if they all show up I will have 30 kids in my yard :faint: Please pray that it does not rain so they are NOT in my house.:angel:

Well off to play some more on the new laptop. CHat with you all tomorrow:hug:

Morning! It's... BACK TO SCHOOL DAY!!! :banana::banana::banana: Yep, Leo went back this morning and he's uber excited about being a 3rd grader.

We went to his back to school night last night and met his teacher - a fantastic man who I think will be really good for Leo. :thumbsup2

Me, I don't start for a few more weeks.

We did some re-planning of Disney time; gone is Thanksgiving week, though we may still go for the day and have our Tutto Thanksgiving dinner. We're rescheduled for mid-Dec., when Leo gets out of school for winter break.

My poor 17yo cat had to have some teeth extracted Sat. :guilty: She's doing great, though, eating plenty and back to her finicky, cantankerous self. :rolleyes:

I think that's it for me. Mo, TE and Janet, I'm LOVING the TRs - thank you for sharing with us! :goodvibes

Angela, love your tatt - it looks great!

Sorry for not quoting......

Angela, wow you brave thing, is it on your arm???

V errrrr have you been stretching Leo he looks so tall! Hope he had a great first day :)

Janet yeah on new laptop, have fun with it!

Rosie great photos, hope Kyle is healing :goodvibes

CE, Hi :hug:

T don't you dare complain it's too hot :rotfl:

Everyone else :wave2:

We had a great time golfing with our friends yesterday and the girls even won :yay: I've then golfed again today and other than a quick shower it was beautiful oh and my team won too so even better :rotfl:

Woohoo, and he looks great! :)

We went to his back to school night last night and met his teacher - a fantastic man who I think will be really good for Leo. :thumbsup2

Buzz is getting the one male classroom teacher at our school, and he's really excited about it. :thumbsup2 I hear great things about him - he was 4th grade last year, but they had to move teachers all over due to changing class sizes. ;)

Hello, dear. :hug:

We had a great time golfing with our friends yesterday and the girls even won :yay: I've then golfed again today and other than a quick shower it was beautiful oh and my team won too so even better :rotfl:

That's awesome! :) Glad you're having fun...

*******************************************************
I stayed up too late reading last night, so then slept in too late this morning. It's fine, but just feeling very, very lazy lately. I've not been playing tennis (though I'm subbing in a class tomorrow morning), the kids are home with out D, so I can't do any neighborhood run, I've done some laundry, but that's about it... Huh.

The kids are currently at the neighbor's house - I wound up with the kid nearly all day yesterday as it was easier to have him to be with Woody whilst Buzz's friend was here. So, I think my neighbor was feeling guilty and they're over there today. ;) It's actually supposed to stay in the rainy 60's here - it never got to 65 yesterday - for all of today and tomorrow, then back to 90 by early next week. :confused: Luckily, I think it's supposed to be back to low 80's for the end of next week when school starts. :thumbsup2

Anyway, we have nothing going on except for karate this afternoon. Woohoo!

I think sometimes having male teacher would be great for Jimmy. There is a male teacher at his before/after care program that is just great with the kids:thumbsup2

We did some re-planning of Disney time; gone is Thanksgiving week, though we may still go for the day and have our Tutto Thanksgiving dinner. We're rescheduled for mid-Dec., when Leo gets out of school for winter break.

When does he get out for winter break? Our kids get Christmas Day to January 3rd:confused3

Thanks!

Glad you had fun, and you are children free this week right? When do the girls go back to school?

Here too. I actually sent a jacket for Jimmy to camp this morning for after swimming (The pool is indoors and they get changed before they get back in the van, but.....

+++++++++++++++++++

Hey all! Quick check in from me. I am typing as I eat my lunch. Dinner with the gilrs tonight:woohoo: Ran to 5 Below while was out at lunch. Spent $14.00...see like the dollar store, it is misnamed:lmao: I got Jimmy a Pokemon DVD and puzzle as partof his birthday present. I also picked upsome spiderman sandwich bags for the start of the year. AFter these run out he will use the clear one's:rotfl: Then I had some pictures of the trip printed up at Walgreens to take my dinner tonight.

Busy at work, still trying to catch up from being off:sad2: Hope you are all having a good day:hug:

V errrrr have you been stretching Leo he looks so tall! Hope he had a great first day :)
Thanks! Nope, no stretching - he's barely grown at all this past year - maybe 1 inch. Still a head shorter than all of his classmates. He's just got long legs!
We had a great time golfing with our friends yesterday and the girls even won :yay: I've then golfed again today and other than a quick shower it was beautiful oh and my team won too so even better :rotfl:
Fantastic on all counts! :thumbsup2

Buzz is getting the one male classroom teacher at our school, and he's really excited about it. :thumbsup2 I hear great things about him - he was 4th grade last year, but they had to move teachers all over due to changing class sizes. ;)
Sounds like what might have happened here, too. Leo's teacher had been doing technology and special reading assistance the past few years, but is back to the classroom this year. He seemed as excited and nervous and the kids, which put them all at ease, I think!
It's actually supposed to stay in the rainy 60's here - it never got to 65 yesterday - for all of today and tomorrow, then back to 90 by early next week.
Wow, that's some weird weather! It's poured nonstop for 3 days here. We are officially soggy.

When does he get out for winter break? Our kids get Christmas Day to January 3rd:confused3
They're out 12/18-1/2 here.
Busy at work, still trying to catch up from being off:sad2: Hope you are all having a good day:hug:
:hug: I HATE coming back from vacation.

Happy lunchtime, ladies. :goodvibes
Yesterday was our first day of school. I think it's going to be a good year. C and A got the teachers I requested for them (C has a man for the second year in a row and she loves him so far. He's very funny and easy-going.)
B is excited to be at the top of the food chain and likes all her teachers but her pre-ap LA teacher. She's annoyed that she has a quiz tomorrow. :rotfl: I think it's not going to be a big, but to check and see who actually read their book over the summer. She did a good job with her notes and stuff, so I think she'll do fine. :thumbsup2

I've been working on my stuff for my classroom all day while catching up on my shows. Life's been so busy, I'd gotten behind. :happytv:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm thinking about a visit to WDW during Thanksgiving next year. Is that nuts? Has anyone been then? I'm trying to avoid summers and missing school, you know? :confused3
Ooo, ooo, pick me, pick me! ;) Yep, we've been the past 2 - 3? - Thanksgiving weeks. It wasn't bad at all. It IS crowded, but you know the drill: get to the parks early and have a Plan. It's usually too cold for us to swim, so we used afternoons for strolling Epcot, DTD, watching a movie in-room, etc. Holiday decorations are out, which makes it all the more fun! :thumbsup2
Morning all.
QuickTo add to my stress Jim just called and my grandson Kyle may have broken his arm. :sad1:
I will be back later with updates. Have a good afternoon.
:scared1:Is this an injury week for Kyles:scared1:
Yes, it hurt, but at least I waited until he was finished to pass out. ;)
The black marks are from the tracing paper.
Hi Jo!! Congrtas on the Team win!!!!!!
Afternoon everyone. I am to tired to quote.
We had Crystal's party yesterday at the pool and everyone had a great time. Of course half way through it began to rain and never stopped. We had pizza and cake on the patio under the cover. I spent the whole timne trying not to worry.
Kyle definitely broke his arm. It's a compound fracture of both bones about 1/3 of the way up his arm past his wrist. Evidently he was being spiderman on the monkey bars and his web failed. He should have been a Disney character. :rotfl2: The hospital transferred him to one of the 2 childrens hospitals by ambulance. We live 2 minutes from a trauma hospital that has NO PEDIATRICIANS on staff in the ER. He is in a full arm cast for a minimum of 8 weeks. Of course they did give him some morphine to help with the pain and he was really goofy. He told the ambulance EMT that he wanted her to dance, Jim did every impersonation he could including Donald Duck. He's in some pain today but overall it could have been so much worse.
I don't have any kids until thursday so I plan on relaxing. Have a nice night.
Hmmm... considering we have the whole week off, it might be a good choice then. :thumbsup2 I wanted the kids to see the Halloween stuff, but it's not a big deal, really. I wish we lived close enough we could drive there for a long weekend. :cloud9:
Sounds like what might have happened here, too. Leo's teacher had been doing technology and special reading assistance the past few years, but is back to the classroom this year. He seemed as excited and nervous and the kids, which put them all at ease, I think!
Here too. One of the third grade teachers moved down to second grade so that they could have 3 second grades because there are so many kids.
They're out 12/18-1/2 here.
Wow, that's a long break.
:hug: I HATE coming back from vacation.
::yes::
Poor kiddo. CHOP or St. Chris?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Hey all. Happy Hump Day:yay: Today I want to get as much as possible done because I am tomorrow for a doctors appointment. Specialists don't have evening hours:sad2:
Friday is Outdoor Movie Night so I am going to be leaving early to help Jim get everything set up for that.
Not much else on the agenda for the weekend for us, but I am glad.
Have a great day everyone:goodvibes
So sorry the weather was carppy!
It was lousy for the adults. The kids didn't even notice it. They had a great time.
Poor kiddo. CHOP or St. Chris?
St. Chris. He goes back in a week to make sure the bones set right.
Have a great day everyone:goodvibes
You too.
+++++++
Morning everyone.
Enjoying my last 2 day off week. I go back to 4 days with the kids next week. That's not to bad though because I'll be done at 3 everyday instead of 5 or 6.
Question for those of you with kids going back to school. Did you get a list of supplies the kids willl need when they got out for the summer. I happened to be at the store yesterday and the school supplies are picked clean. I don't think Crystal got a list and of course my mom swears she had to have gotten one. EVERYONE she knows got a list and a reading list for the summer. We don't even know what class Crystal is in yet. It will be a long year.
Have a good day.
My Dad has bought the girls a Dell laptop :eek: Apparently it's their Christmas pressie but we'll see :rotfl: Lets just hope they can share nicely :rotfl:
Been a very productive but boring day here, first I dyed my hair and ummm half my head, a bit dripped just below my eyebrow and I didn't realise so I did have a nice black splodge, it's now a faded splodge :rotfl: I then cleaned, hoovered, dusted, ironed and even cleaned out my airing cupboard :faint: It has also rained for the last abut 4 hours and is meant to continue all of tomorrow too :sad2:
Janet, doctors? For you?
Hmmm... considering we have the whole week off, it might be a good choice then. :thumbsup2 I wanted the kids to see the Halloween stuff, but it's not a big deal, really.
I definitely recommend it! The Halloween stuff is nice, but the Christmas stuff is loads better :thumbsup2
Wow, that's a long break.
We don't get a Fall break, though, and start back earlier. We get Thanksgiving week (usually - M-W are hurricane make-up days), 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year's, and a week in Spring.
Hey all. Happy Hump Day:yay: Today I want to get as much as possible done because I am tomorrow for a doctors appointment. Specialists don't have evening hours:sad2:
Everything okay?
We got a list about a month ago... but what Leo actually needs is totally different! I shopped from the list and now have to return some and buy more. :rolleyes:
Oh boy, this ought to be interesting! :rolleyes1:rotfl:
Ugh, there, too? It hasn't stopped raining for more than an hour for 4 days here. :sad2: I wouldn't mind if it cooled things down, but now it's just hot and wet.
Good Afternoon all !!Working a Split day today !!Went in for a BIG staff Meeting this a.m!! I was the guinea pig for practising with a Hoyer Lift !!I actually quite enjoyed it and did some squirming and yelling to both amuse the staff and let them see it was safe !!!Trusting soul aren't I
Jo How nice for the girls to get a Dell !!!
School doesn't start here till after Labor Day!!!
I saw that. Ellie posted on FB:laughing:
We don't get a fall break, but they get a bunch of day here/day there type of stuff. I'd rather they would get the longer CHristmas Break
Everything okay?
Will answer you and Jo below!
Great, now that all the good sales are over:headache:
SO...I have an ear infection. SInce we have been home my ear has been bothering me, but I would take an aleve and it would be fine. I figured after 6 days though I should probably go to the doctor:rolleyes1 He gave me drops for that.
Tomorrow is just the annual "tune up" but as I said specialists don't have evening hours.
Off to finish dinner. HAve a good one all!
Hi everyone.
We got new furbabies!!!!!
We went to a comedy show in Brooklyn on mon night and were early, so we walked past a cat's only clinic and there they were in the window with an "adopt us" sign on their cage! We instantly knew we wanted them and went back the next morning and took them home!
They are twin brothers. They do everything together and I do mean EVERYTHING. They are the sweetest tho, very loving and fun.
Here's the facebook album if you wanna see pics! I posted some videos too.
Moss & Miso .
Hope everyone's doing good!
I'm heading to Vanderbilt tomorrow for my ear surgery--so you all think about me! I'll try to post how I am---supposed to be dizzy for a few days if I move my head so may not get to do much. We're staying at a hotel near the hospital for 2 nites since it's a 6 hour drive.....kinda nervous.....
Angela---looks good!
Jo---let us know how the sharing works out for you! :thumbsup2
V---he looks cute! :goodvibes
Kat--love the kitties!
CE--senior pics went fine-2 of her friends went too so they did some group pics as well!
I've worked all week to get her schedule straight----tip of the day---KNOW what requirements are needed for graduation and what is needed at the the college they are applying to..........cause the guidance "counselor" knows NOTHING! :mad: I've fought the whole week to get Ab's classes right....and then had to fight again cause she wanted to take an online AP European History class and they wouldn't order her the book.:mad:
But after I ordered one on Amazon today....the asst principal called and said they had "found" a book at the school after all. 3 days after the class started.
