I know TE how dare CE have RL friends  :rotfl2:

Would you believe I'm still suffering with jet lag :confused3 Could not get to sleep last night so did not want to wake up  Hopefully my time clock will sort itself out soon, girls go back to school next week, tomorrow is going to be spent sewing name labels in all of Jessica's new uniform, oh how I love that job ;) :rotfl: I'll have to post a photo of her in her uniform as I don't think your schools do uniform do they?
My kids don't wear uniforms but some schools do--most religious schools seem to require them. There does not seem to be much of a dress code at their current schools which is a little concerning, but then there is no A/C in the building either, so I hate to complain right now.

Just paid again to have some online time. We are having a great time and have spotted a few DISers while here. Haven't really talked to any other then a quick hello. We are having a great time and I am sooo enjoying my time. Ds and I were first to MGM today and I got some great empty park picks. DD said the tour of AK was great. We are headed to CP tonight for dinner and the PPP at MK. Little Ones Extra Magic Hour at MK rocks and I can't stress enough to all to get there if you have little ones. We are going to do it again on Sunday because it was so much fun. Got to go for now.
:cheer2: Yeah! We love some live updates!!

Welcome to the TFW...here is what I did with my LGMHs. I passed them out to fellow DISers that I met.

:thumbsup2

Ok so Public school (paid for by taxes) is called Private School??
So Private schools (paid for by parents and endless fundraisers) are called___________??

Nope, it's the other way around. Eton, like the royals attend, is a private school but it's called Public School. I honestly can't remember what they call the taxpayer, free to everyone schools, but it's not public school (or private school, for that matter.) Jo?

So, when you're reading the British novels and they talk about those Public School folks, they mean the fancy private school kids, if you know what I mean. ;)

I'm trying to catch up on all my Dis reading before I head out to the world - also trying to pack and clean the house. Anyway, the kids are fighting. DD2 is on the floor kicking DS6, so I tell DS6 to move away. He moves across the room and she following him, gets on the floor right next to him to kick him again. So I give her time out and put her on the naughty step. After being allowed to get off the naughty step, she plays some, then DS6 starts yelling that DD2 just hit him in his privates. I looked at DD2 and without a word, she put herself on the naughty step.

:rotfl:  :rotfl2: :lmao:

Oooh have a great time, will there be a TR? Have you any ADR's made? :goodvibes

I plan on doing a TR. Wanted to do a Pre TR, but didn't have time, especially with trying to read everyone else's Pre TRs.

ADR's - yes of course! I even called today and added 2 more, but will probably cancel them.
By the way we leave tomorrow for a week at Beach Club. :cool1:

Are you asleep yet? I am leaving tomorrow for a week, too and will be at BCV - checking in on Tuesday. Look for me - I'll have LGMH and my bag on my stroller is black with a huge fuzzy LGMH I sewed on.

I took the dog to the kennel today for boarding - took me 3 hours b/c they made me wait to see the vet. She needed shots and for the last 5 years, I always drop her off this same week and they give her the shots while she is boarded. This vet does not take appointments and is the cheapest around, so they always have a really long wait. I left my house at 11:30. Got there and they told me since she is a "senior" dog and hasn't been seen by the vet, I have to wait to see the vet. I was so mad and said, if you would have told me that when I made the reservation, I would have gotten here earlier. They told me I was on the "express" list and there were only 3 people ahead of me. The express list is supposed to be just for those who only need the shots. Some express list. Then when they called me, they took my dog to the back without me and told me I could leave. What's up with that? I think I'm switching vets. I don't care how cheap they are. That was 3 hours away from Dissing. Of course, I told DH I was mad b/c that was 3 hours away from me getting the house clean.

:rotfl2:
Be glad you got the shots though...my dogs got kennel cough one time and almost died.

Hope you have a magical trip! With you and S'late going now, it reminds me that I am due another one soon! (but I gotta pay off my beach vacation first!)pixiedust:

Hey Jo--I was watching the movie "The Queen" last night on DVD (and yes, DH made me put subtitles on it cause "I can't understand a word their saying...":lmao: )
Anyhoo....several questions arose and of course, I thought of you given your indepth knowledge of the royal family!

First...she goes "stalking" in Balmoral. :3dglasses Is this term used to mean "hunting" or just a royal thing??
Were the British people that mad at the Queen during the week following Diana's death?

I have some more but I'll wait on you to answer these...so hurry back from golfing cause I need to know!:lmao:

Yep that's right it's so stupid isn't it, as for the normal schools in this area the school for 4 to 11 year olds is Primary and 11 to 18 is Secondary you then in the older age range have Comprehensive (normal kids) and Grammar (need to pass a test called the 11 plus to get in) and also we have CofE (Church) schools :faint: With Jess we had a choice of about 10 schools, it was so confusing

Well I do go round for tea and cucumber sandwiches you know  :rotfl2:

Yep it's hunting not like we do at WDW :rotfl2:

It was a very strange time, people went a bit silly, I think it was something to do with the Queen not flying a certain flag or something :confused3 BTW I've never seen that film was it any good?

Oh I wish I was golfing I was busy sewing name labels on uniform and ironing :scared:

Thanks for the clarification! The phrase that I was trying to come up with, that appears often in the British mysteries I tend to read, will often be something along the lines of "he's a student at the local Comprehensive." I knew there was a name for it, but I just couldn't get there...

A choice of 10 wouldl be overwhelming. So is she Public or Comprehensive or Grammar or CofE??? :goodvibes (Do I have the choices for her age right, at least?)

she's going to the CofE which is a wonderful school but miles away, the bus will pick her up at 7.20am  I've spent over $400 on uniform and bits and pieces :scared1: She wanted to go to the Grammar school and she took 3 tests, they were out of 140 points and you needed 115 in each one to pass well she got 140, 139 and 105 so she failed even though she had top scores in 2 of them  So it was very stressful as we were then given the local really crappy comp so had to appeal to other schools, but before the appeals were heard we were accepted on the waiting list for the CofE one just in case you wanted to know it's in the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells :snooty: :rotfl2:

Oh, that is too bad that she did SO well on the 2 tests and still didn't make it. But, if you think the CofE school is great, then maybe it was meant to be. :goodvibes

 on the uniform prices, though!

Why have I heard of Tunbridge Wells? Is is something to do with the War, or is it just one of the pricey towns that would have turned up in books? :confused3

It's a pretty expensive town and could be a setting in books. My friend was funny as her DD goes to the CofE school there and her DD's best friend has horses and a swimming pool and she was like well we've got a big shaggy dog and a paddling pool :rotfl2: I said to Jess make sure you make friends with the kids with pools :rotfl2:

I thought so as they were shooting a deer. I thought I'd tell folks around here to go "deer stalking" instead of huntin'!:lmao:

Yes, on the movie, they got upset cause there was no flag at Buckingham Palace--although the flag only symbolizes when the Queen is in residence. Blair convinced her to fly the flag at half-mast. Have you ever seen the movie "Babe" (the pig)?? The man that says "that'll do pig" plays Prince Phillip and does a great job. (even without the pig!)
I think it's a good movie and reminds me of the event 10 years ago (when BA was born), but I still don't think much of Diana <<<throw tomatoes at me now!>>>. Mother Teresa died 1 week later with very little fanfare...

You should rent the movie. (DH thought it was ok--he had thought it was about Elizabeth I and would have liked it better!)

I said to Jess make sure you make friends with the kids with pools :rotfl2:

but I still don't think much of Diana <<<throw tomatoes at me now!>>>.
Some had better come my way too, I always thought she was very over rated and a bit camera seeking :duck: Have you ever wondered why Harry looks like a certain gentleman friend of hers :duck: :duck: :duck: :rotfl2:

Hope you're getting better DD :goodvibes

BTW TE guess what's on the Tele now? The film The Queen :rotfl2: How spooky is that especially as it's on normal TV (not Sky) and there are only 5 channels, DH is watching sport though :rotfl:

Wow! You should watch it--it was nominated for Best Picture or something. I thought it was well worth the time.
Is he watching golf?? DH took a break from packing and is watching the Discovery Channel. Do you get that??

:lmao: You crack me up! ;)

It must just be books... I started reading Agatha Christie when I was about Jess's age, and still love a ton of Brit Lit. Thanks yet again for clarifying!

I watched about 10 minutes, DH watches any sport going  We do get Discovery here but I think you have to pay extra which we don't so no we don't get it :rotfl2:

:lmao: You crack me up! ;)
Good :rotfl2:

Wow DM! That is really cool! I know how much you like Blake. What is he doing now (obviously touring I guess)

Well, DH is on his way to Milan--8 1/2 hour flight to Frankfurt, Germany then 1 1/2 hour to Milan. He will get there Tues am but does not have to work till Wed so that should help. I don't like it when he is overseas--too far away. And his folks flew to Reno (free trip comped by Harrah's :thumbsup2 ) and his sis and family went to Myrtle Beach.........but don't worry--I'm still here!
