I know you would.

I hope we never have to ever ask anyone for financial help, but if we do, I have 6 siblings. I'm sure some of them owe me for some torture and torment I endured as a child.
Now that we are a single income family, I do get worried with the economy the way it is. If I would have known the economy was going to get this bad, I would not have quit my job last year. DH says not to worry and he's glad the kids are not in daycare anymore and that I can volunteer at school.

Oh For Pete's banana . I had to buy and new dryer and a new car this month! It's like a won the Price is Right except none of it is free. The timing is Fantasic. Everyone loves laying out money in December

Anyway, I would be fine with not going, or only sending D. Because really, I don't want to spend nearly $1000 just after Christmas, for a 3 day weekend (that includes skipping a day of school just after the break) because it's just not practical. But his mom is laying on all sorts of guilt, and D himself, due to his cousin's situation, is feeling very "family oriented" so he's resistant to me and the boys staying home.

Tough situation. I can totally understand your feelings on that. I like your idea of sending D by himself, but from his perspective, I'm sure he doesn't want to be there without you and the boys. I'm more about the family than dh is. Even though it is expensive, I would go if I could afford to purchase the tickets. They are getting up in age and you might regret it if something healthwise happens to them. You just never know what will happen.
Sorry if this is not any help. I certainly understand not wanting to spend that much on airfare, especially with Christmas expenses. Wonder if it would be cheaper to take a train?

So, Gus is going back to school today! YAY! The MIL is in the shower, and not in bed so I'm assumng she's somewhat better today. SD never barfed but he did feel nauseaus which he says has gone away. He's home though, until he can eat.

Bob comes home TOMORROW! OMG, someone pinch me!

Tiggerbell and I had a lovely time at The Wave last night. The food tasted much better than the menu reads. She ran into some people she knew there too. Love the DIS. I was very disappointed in the Christmas decorations at the Contemporary though. Almost nonexistent. Maybe that's the contemporary was of decorating, who knows?

I'm off to see Jo and Jen in a little while. I hope she gives us some insider info!

I'm at the hospital waiting on Mr Diz. He is done with surgery and in the recovery room. I was thankful they gave him the happy shot right before rolling him out. Last time they gave it to him too soon and I kept telling him to quit talking, but he wouldn't listen. The nurse came in to take his blood pressure and as she walked out the room he said, "Did you see how huge her (chest) are?" Then he accidently flashed all the nurses when he got up to go to the bathroom. His room was across from the nurses station.

This time, they gave him the shot and the nurse said it kicks in fast. He was giggling when she gave him a pill to take. Two more nurses came in and he told them to call him "Kdiddle" because "That's my rockband's name."

He kept blowing me kisses and asking me to give him kisses as they rolled him down the hall.

And Brack - they gave him thigh high pantyhose to wear.

First of all, it seems like there are a few of you that need some hugs!

Secondly, some of you need to know that it is OK to say no. Say it with me - NO. You don't have to scream it. It is pretty much universally understood. No. You can even soften it up a bit with, "I'm sorry, but no." There is no shame in drawing a line in the sand. More for yourself than anyone else. No, no, no. When someone tells me this, I know exactly where I stand. I wish I could help every living soul with problems. I have a big heart too. But no. I can't put myself into hardship or chance ill feelings especially when it involves money. So once in a while I say no in hopes that I can say YES when it counts.

Well, this is a bit of a drive by post. I was gone most of yesterday and will be out and about most of today too. My old MOPS group is having a silent auction this morning and the girl that used to run it with me just called. She has a sick kid and so does the other girl in charge, so she asked if I could help run the auction! SO, instead of just going, relaxing and buying stuff, I'm now helping out!

There was a letter to Dear Abby from the mother of a teenage boy who asked a girl to a dance. Instead of saying no so he could find another date, she said I'll have to get back to you. And then of course didn't. The mother's point was teenage girls need to learn to be clear about what they want and if it's no, it's no, just say it. So we don't have such a hard time saying it later in life.

I saw that in Dear Abby also Angela, it was right after the Homecoming dance Sam went to a couple weeks ago. he asked a girl to go and she said yes, when he got there he showed up with another boy and didnt even talk to him! thats why I noticed that letter.

I bought a Dell mini laptop in October. I was planning on sending it back because I dont really need it. its really cute. but I waited to long and its past the 21 days return period. so they wont take it back. bummer.
But I cant get online with it. it doesnt read my netgear router. my IPOD touch reads it fine. but I cant figure out how to use the laptop with it...
Any ideas?

The super actually came this morning and the hole isn't a hole anymore. They replaced the pipe upstairs from em so there should (in theory) be no more leak! He is going to come and paint it tomorrow.

Today we have some errands to run and little things to take care of so it should be a pretty relaxing day. It's getting chilly out too! Hope everyone has a great day....

Saks 5th Ave. These are part of a music/light show- I'll video tape it next time, it's really neat.

Funky view of the Rockefeller Center Tree (we are going again next week i'll take better ones). Nice full tree this year, a bit short tho.

We were supposed to go to a Japanese restaurant but instead ended up at Tad's Steaks. it's an almost fast food setting, you order and take your food on a tray to your own seat. It's like $13 for a 10oz yummy steak with baked potato and a salad. Very yummy!

KC & Luis being "gangsta" LOL.

Then D & I went to the see Spring Awakening (Time #3 for me). It was the first time I saw it from the audience. We had great seats, front row balcony. She LOVED it! I had a great time. One bad thing tho- Hunter Parish (the kid from weeds whom I secretly call my boyfriend lol) wasn't in it! The guy who played him was great tho. Turns out he did some episodes of Gossip Girl, for which D & I flipped over because we both love that show (it';s a guilty pleasure what can I say).
