V- When we refi'd (Is that a word?) in August, we went with our credit union. They were great and didn't hassel us at all. Maybe checking on smaller places? :confused3

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We don't have many plans for the weekend. Tonight we're going to our group's science fair. The kids built a trebuchet with daddy. It's very low-key and it's a pot luck too. :thumbsup2
That's pretty much it, I think.
Next weekend is crazy. We have C's drama show and A's bday party. :eek:
How'd your golf go? :) Who'd you play with/against? Where'd you go on your walk?
Well I played OK, won 50p but also lost 50p to someone else so ended up all square :thumbsup2 I played with 2 friends Val and Cathy. We just did a 40 minute walk around where we live as we didn't have time to go any further!
Oh, my! I still think drunk Jo would be a hoot! ;) Have fun, and yeah, what IS a conker party? Sounds, well, British. :rotfl:
No a drunk Jo would involve some trips to the bathroom :sick: But I need to start learning as I've got some drinks parties to attend at WDW :rotfl2: Oh and I haven't a clue about a conker party, you go and play conkers :confused3
I just got off the phone with D, no new news from the investigators. :confused3
I hope they reach a verdict soon :hug:
I googled it and the only thing I could come with is that it some video game for Wii:confused3
Really :rotfl2:
Jo,,that sounds like a good time!! :dance3: I`m with CE..Whats a CONKER party? :goodvibes
Honestly Carrie I don't have a clue :rotfl2:
O
Scott and I are off to watch an EARLY SHOWING of the New "Bond" Movie.. at 10:00. A Movie with out kids Might actually get the
Ooooh let us know how it was. Planning on seeing that as soon as I can use my free movie tickets on it. popcorn::
What is everyone paying for gas these days? I've seen it here for $1.97
It's about $2.19-$2.24 here in Miami. Cheaper at places like BJ's or Sam's.
Then my classic stress dream is from my stint as a waitress/bartender at TGI Friday's. I still dream it to this day, and I quit in 1996. It's a slow night at the restaurant, so we send all but the "closers" home (which was how it really worked.) Then something - a concert, a game (this was in my college town) lets out and the place gets flooded. I am super-busy, and in order to put my orders into the little computer things that we use, I have to win a video game first. I am too stressed, can't win the game, can't put in orders, every time I look I have more guests being seated... I call it my "Fri-ghtmare" because of being at Friday's.
OMG I used to have a similar dream when I worked at Blockbuster. Except I didn't have to beat a game thingy. Everyone else would just not be working and I was the only one working and people kept coming in. :scared1:
QUESTION FOR EVERYONE (if you dont mind)
How do you all have time to DIS??
Sometimes I don't. Honestly this thread is one of the few I try to keep up with. It used to be better (and it might be better) with internet at work. Although when I take my hiatuses there's no way I can catch up. I'm so behind on all the Focker TRs and my own! :guilty:
$2.07 here. But it's always cheaper at WDW, so I'm waiting to fill up there on Sunday, lol!
::yes:: we do that too.
What are everyone's plans for the weekend?
Work work and more work. :sad1:
I'll take the lead then. Send me your name and address to: kmb0694@gmail.com.
Sent!! :santa:
I'll have to ask Mrs. T about the mohawk next time I go in for a hair cut. :scared: DS6 wants one. We could be quite a pair.
:laughing: Good one Mr. T
I'll be here, becasue Jim will be painting, but the only Spanish I know is
Mi zapatos are negro...and the only reason I know this is becasue it is the only thing Jim remembers from 4 years of high school spanish!
:rotfl2:
Of course watch me be busy at work and not be able to participate in Spanish Focker Night 2 :sad1:
Just got a major dose of reality... add me to the list of "worried homeowners." Wells Fargo is offering a percentage discount for employees of my employer right now, so I gave them a ring to see what kind of interest rate they could get me for a refi. See, I got a balloon mortgage on my condo at 5.375% and balloon payment due at the end of 8 years. I never thought I'd want to stay longer than that, but the place has grown on me and I'll need to refi.
Verdict from Wells... fahgeddaboutit. No way. No how. No mortgage for you. Despite the fact that I easily make my payments every single month - often plus more toward principle - and the fact that I'm stable in every way, they won't touch it because the value has gone down so much thanks to the umpteen foreclosures and short sales in FL.
I honestly think it'll be okay; my mortgage mandates that the existing lender must offer me the option to refi at the end of the balloon payment if I so choose and I don't see anything about them being able to say "never mind" based on falling values. But it's got me worried, nonetheless. :worried:
Oh V! :hug: I hope things work out. I know there's a lot of company's out there right now helping people to help keep their houses. Do some research and talk to Countrywide, we have them too and they're always sending us info to refi or whatever.
Jury Duty: I always seem to lose mine. :rolleyes1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So I called Disney and they said I could use the pin!!!

party: :jumping1: :dancer: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :banana: :cool1:

My first pin! I'm so excited and it's about damn time! I feel like I just one a dream (which I haven't won TFI). :snooty:

So now this weekend will be spent pricing and planning.

They added some new stores to the black friday ads website. ;)

Anyhoo, ttyl.

Be good and not too much partying tonight.

:hippie:

Ho hum... Kirt got off work 10 mins late and my MIL was supposed to be here as close to 3 as possible. 3:20 and it's just me and the kids.

I need a tapping my fingers smilie!

Well I totally missed this yesterday.. but here a little something for next time ...

catcontemplation-1.gif

Hiya everyone
Boy it has been a while

QUESTION FOR EVERYONE (if you dont mind)
How do you all have time to DIS??
I only have 2 kids and 1 is in school full time but I NEVER have anytime to myself. I feel like I am constantly cleaning,cooking,running errands or playing taxi shuffling kids here and there.Not to mention homework and projects,sports when Happy is home from school. I AM JEALOUS of you all.;)
WHen the kids finally are in bed I take that time for P and I to just catch up.

ANYWAY sorry, but curious

I have a strict 5 step Foolproof plan

I ignore my body... don't go to the Y
Ignore my house.. let it get filthy
Ignore my kids... Uh... Bologna, find something in the Pile on the couch.
Ignore the Hubby.. come to bed exhausted.. sorry too tired.. Maybe tomorrow...

Repeat....:goodvibes

What is everyone paying for gas these days? I've seen it here for $1.97.:banana: :banana: :banana:

I hope everyone has a great day :goodvibes

It's easy to find it for $1.85.. I have seen $1.77
Never thought I would see gas again with a "1" in front of it.

I'll take the lead then. Send me your name and address to: kmb0694@gmail.com. Note this is not my usual email; I didn't want to plaster my name all over the DIS. Anyhow, let me know if you would like to participate in the:

card exchange
gift exchange
ornament exchange
after Christmas White Elephant/unwanted/tacky gift exchange

Shall we say all signs ups by 11/26?

Rules:
Card exchange: no rules really. Anyone?
Gift exchange: Does $7 before shipping sound ok? Other than needing to agree on the $ amount, just please no junk or used items. In your email, let me know what you like/dislike, if you would like or not prefer homemade gifts and if you are willing to ship to UK or Canada.
Ornamant: same as above except $5 before shipping.

I would suggest that gifts and ornaments are shipped by 12/18.

For the unwanted gift exchange, shall we say sign up by 12/25 and ship by 1/2?

O.K... I'm in for most if not all... :woohoo: :woohoo: Somebody Hit me with the "Party"
frog_dancing_disco.gif

Mitch wants to see that too so let me know what you think. It did get good reviews in the paper.
:)

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I think Mitch and you wil like it. It is definately a so get something to Chew on so you do not mess up your manicure's ladies.

You get about 20-25 seconds of Movie time before the sets in
than another round of that about 15 minutes later.
Storyline gets a little disjunct.. But a Good Bond Flick... Just not a "Craig" fan.

From Webster's:
conker
One entry found.

Main Entry:
conk·er Listen to the pronunciation of conker
Pronunciation:
\ˈkäŋ-kər\
Function:
noun
Etymology:
conch + 2-er, from the original use of a snail shell on a string in the game
Date:
circa 1886

1: a horse chestnut especially when used in conkers
2plural : a game in which each player swings a horse chestnut on a string to try to break one held by the opponent

Thank you, I did, but I had a weird dream that I lived in a house near the ocean, more across the street from the beach, and suddenly the waves were pounding on my front door, and then Angela came and said, "See, THIS is a hurricane." :rotfl: Then I dreamt that one of my teeth fell out. That's kind of a recurring thing for me. I don't get it.
Um, yeah. Good luck! (And break a leg to BA! :goodvibes )

:eek: I'm sorry. My crazies at least didn't start that until we lived half a country away. But Jen(JV) could meet them. ;)
Mine live in your state... :rolleyes1
I should have gotten ready for my aunt, but I'm trying to block that. :rotfl: She's just a character, I guess. She's 68, never been married, though she's had a few long-term relationships. She lived near T the whole time I was growing up, and being (we thought - childless - since found out she'd had a son and gave him up for adoption, who she now knows and spends time with, but we didn't know him growing up), she'd send for my cousin & me to come out and visit, and we loved it. She taught school for years, but would occasionally take a year off and go hike the Andes or the Himalayas or something. We thought she was SO COOL.

But as she's gotten older, she's just becoming a total know-it-all, and will, for example, tell D how it is to get over jet lag or all about traveling :rolleyes: or tell me how all people who work in offices are lazy (though she's never done it and I have) or telling one of the other moms at my kids' preschool what it's like to be a teacher (and the other mom IS CURRENTLY teaching...) Or even telling me how to raise kids. Yes, I know she has a kid, but she didn't have him when he was 6. Or 2, or 17. It gets wearing, and it's not just sharing funny stories, it's always, "I know more than you." I can usually take it for a couple of days, but she's staying for 5. And D won't be here at all.

:rotfl2: on the dream. The toothless struck me funny. I've had that one before.
My grandmother was like your aunt, extremely opinionated. I just ignored her when she got on one of those jags. There was no arguing with her.

So, I didn't do much today. Cleaned my house, worked out at the Y, got pulled over by the police in front of my DD7's school....

Yep, you read it right. I got pulled over for speeding in a school zone!!!!! :headache: Luckily, the cop was feeling friendly and let me go with a warning! I was in a hurry to pick up DD4 at her friend's house and get home in time for DD7 to get off the bus! I was probably going no faster than 35 mph, but of course the limit is 25 right in front of the school. He gave me a stern "SLOW DOWN!!!!" Let me just say that on my way back to the house after picking up DD4, I drove about 18 mph past the school. :rolleyes1

Shame, shame.:sad2:

I know. I just hope he didn't do it, for his mom and sister's sake. I just looked at his MySpace page (we were friends on Facebook, but I'd not logged onto MySpace for months, and we weren't friends there.) Anyway, his mood was listed as "bueno", his influences as God and his family, and stuff he loved included his band and snowboarding, but also volunteer work and using his money to make a difference. (His dad was very wealthy when he passed away, and he's been successful himself.)

It just doesn't make sense to me, but we will just have to wait for some forensic evidence, and accept it if it's him.

Sorry, sorry. I'm just so trying to figure this out. I'll stop.

Thanks for letting me work this out via venting or thinking "out loud" or whatever.

Hey you talk all you want. It is almost like he was either a good actor or something made him turn a 180.

So guess what I got in the mail today??

A Disney PIN!!!!!!!

BUT!

It's not for me!!!

If any of you have read my trip report, the pin came for my friend Yani's boyfriend (now ex-bf though). UGH!!!

I know this happened to Kat and she was able to use it, so I'm gonna see if I can do the same thing. Although it says "non-transferable", so they might not let me.

I say give it a try - finders, keepers!

Good luck with this! Hopefully, by now, you've already survived.

Thanks! It didn't turn out too bad. (See below)

Kristel - stay away from the CRAZIES!

I wish I could.

You know, I still dream that my high school gym teacher calls and tells me I didn't really pass PE and that I have to return to high school to finish.

What is everyone paying for gas these days? I've seen it here for $1.97.

:lmao: On the dream. Gas is $1.82 here. It's probably cheaper in Indy. Oh Jodi????!!!!!

I always wind up getting out of jusry duty. I usually know the judge or the DA prosecuting the case! My job does work in my favor sometimes:thumbsup2 For civil cases...a little tip. If they are talking about "soft tissue injuries" always tell them unless you can see the injury on an xray, MRI, CT scan etc. it doesn't exist. The plaintiffs attorney will dismiss you immediately. That is your public service announcement for the day;)

Doug gets off of jury duty just by looking mad. When he was asked if he wanted to be there he said no. Then they asked him if he would vote with the majority on a verdict just to get out earlier. He said yeah. Dismissed!

Good Morning Peeps!

We're having a sleep over tonight - my nephews are coming over per Evan's request. He loves having the boys over.

I've got to head over to the Brownie council office this morning - and then it's a pretty relaxed day. :faint: Thank GOD!

I'll check in later and hope some of you will be here tonight for some cocktails and chat en espanol! ;)

Have a great Friday! :goodvibes

Have fun!

UGH.

The girls and I are off to my Dad's tomorrow, Emma is driving us up there as we're going out for a meal and drinks with our cousins. Dad is taking the girls to a conker party whatever one of them is :confused: Goodness knows what Em and I have in store as they've booked a minibus and everything and you know how much I drink.

Can I get a 'Dixie' YEE HAW outta you!!!????

'We've got friends who supposedly swing, no-one really knows though. Well my other friends were kind of propositioned and we didn't know whether to be insulted they didn't ask us or incredibly relieved' - I forgot who said this.

So this means Doug should be flattered, huh! Thanks for the new perspective.:rotfl2:

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Actually the dinner went fine. I just still feel a little on guard - go figure. I don't want to get personal with them any more. Doug doesn't have a lot of close friends. Mr. Crazy has been his buddy since grade school. I'm not going to tell him he can't hang with him anymore. He wouldn't listen to me any how. She is almost OCD on cleaning. So whoever mentioned that one, yeah that would be cool, for me.

Had lunch today at Olive Garden with a friend. We both had the usual lunch special - Soup, salad and breadsticks. They have a new soup with gnocchi in it. Very tasty! She ordered calamari. I don't care for it. She said it is usually very good. Today it was way too chewy. They took it off the bill, no prob.

The cookies turned out good. Not as good as the fully sugar/carb loaded ones. OK, though.

I'm going to sit back and watch some 'Lost' reruns. We live in a 'no locals' area. Our antenna is shot and I refuse to by one until the new digital gets into place. I don't get to watch a lot of the regular stuff. So I get to wait until it shows up on one of the satellite stations. Yeah Mel, that means that half the year I have to watch reruns of the Nascar too! It sucks!

Hey everybody, Happy Friday!!!
Have a great weekend!

Talk at you later!

live from jury duty...and this olddddd public use pc.... so far nada zip zilch. I have sat and sat and sat some more. I only have to be here until 5pm so here's hoping thats it for me. The clerk told me to let them know about my back and my dr's note when i go in for questions.

hope everyone else is having a better day than me!

I. Have. Cramps.

And now back to your regularly scheduled Focker kvetching.

:sad2:

Tomorrow...or should I say "manana"...we have a big craft fair in town. :woohoo: Meeska and I are going.

Other than that...nada por la weekend. (spanglish is a weakness of mine ;))

Hope everyone is doing well.

:hug: to those that need them.

Everyone have a great rest of your Friday and have a wonderful weekend.

That was me :rotfl2:

The concert was fun last night. I ate my first real meal in 2 weeks. Scallops, shrimp and asparagus. Yummy!
It was nice to get to talk to each other. Kirt's work stuff is so wacked out, I swear. He's not worried about his job, but he's having to cut people left and right. It's hard on him. He deserves a Disney trip! ;)

Sounds like a nice date night. :thumbsup2

I'll have to ask Mrs. T about the mohawk next time I go in for a hair cut. :scared: DS6 wants one

It will grow out! ;)

I've got a busy weekend...we're off to see Dniece14 in a play tonight, then tomorrow we're off to NYC to see Shrek the musical and check on my mother's family's graves (oh, and see her cousin).

Have fun Hedy. :)

We're having a sleep over tonight - my nephews are coming over per Evan's request. He loves having the boys over.

How many boys will you have?

That's interesting because Mitch wants to try to refi but it seems we should wait. :rolleyes:

Why do you think we all posted..."Hey Jo what's a conker":confused3 ;)

=========================================================

SO I am completely bored at work so I have started planning for August (yes, Jo you can pick yourself up off the floor now;) )

I went to touringplans and sort of have the days planned and I have picked out where we want to eat. We are only doing 4 sit down meals and only 1 of those is a character meal. Here's what I got

T-Rex (A must for any dinosaur fan, which Jimmy is!!!) - Hey Jo see if they will pay for you to go here when you are there. WE need a review;)

Garden Grill (DInner) so Jimmy can see Chip and Dale

50s Prime Time (Late lunch early dinner)

Coral Reef (Late Lunch early dinner)

As you all know this is all subject to change anytime. Especially becasue my mother is hearing rumors that they are going to start offering CM's discounts on the DDP.

Especially becasue my mother is hearing rumors that they are going to start offering CM's discounts on the DDP.

How would that work? Like they could purchase them for whomever they knew who booked a room.

Well his eyes are nice.. IF THAT IS THE REAL COLOR and not Enhanced.

You know they are his real eye color since he's a guy and could care less! :rolleyes:

How would that work? Like they could purchase them for whomever they knew who booked a room.

We book our room through a special CM website to get the CM discount. I would assume that I would have to buy a 1 day ticket and order the DPP the same way:confused3. The one day ticket wouldn't be too bad, becasue we don't park-hop and I could use it on a day when my parents are working and it is a pain for them to come over to get us into the parks. ALthough I have a feeling if they are going to do it, it will be on the new Quick Service Dining Plan that is out there. 2 CS meals per day, 2 snacks per day, and 1 refillable mug per person. THis would work for us though since we usually only do a couple of TS meals a trip. LAst year was an exception becasue Andrew was with us and I wanted him to try and see as much as he could!

I was looking at this as an option myself... we will probably only DDP one of our trips... trying to decide which one to do. Sara suggested we wait till Our August trip. :confused3
The one night I could not sleep I began looking at dining options.
I am in NEED of some serious Disney right now.

So did MOM or Dad O.K. My adoption :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

V, Wells Fargo is in big doo-doo financially. They have taken a HUGE hit with the foreclosures and are struggling to stay afloat.

Wait, huh? Why did they buy Wachovia? Or is that what put them in the hole? And why the heck do these companies and world leaders keep having emergency finance rescue meetings? Shouldn't the $ spent on airfare be put in the rainy day fund?

Mi zapatos are negro...and the only reason I know this is becasue it is the only thing Jim remembers from 4 years of high school spanish!

It's about $2.19-$2.24 here in Miami. Cheaper at places like BJ's or Sam's.
I just paid $2.29! :woohoo: I'll take it!

They added some new stores to the black friday ads website. ;)
Which one?? :confused3
How many boys will you have?
Just 3 including Evan. My nephews are older ... 16 and 11, but they love Evan and don't mind hanging out with "a baby". ;)

Well, I got all my errands done and then some. :rolleyes1 I decided to head into the mall after I saw the news today that retail sales are way down, I thought I should do my part. Hit up Disney Store and bought the kids a couple of sweatshirts at 25% off, not great, but not bad. Oh and the manager told me they're going to open at Midnight on Black Friday and give guests an additional 20% off coupon! :banana: Gymboree was having big sale too, so I headed in there and bought the kids the cutest jammies! Oh and Evan some train underwear. :laughing:

The mall is all decked out in Christmas crap. I'm just not into it. I see all this stuff and it makes me crabby that they're pushing Christmas already. :headache: Bah Humbug! :lmao:

I'll check in later and hope some of you will be here tonight for some cocktails and chat en espanol! ;)

Have a great Friday! :goodvibes

i'll be here T! I even bought some wine today -- TWICE!!! After getting home from the grocery, I opened the back of the minivan and out flies one bag. And guess what the only thing inside it was??? Yep, my bottle of wine. It smashed on the floor of the garage! So, I made another stop before picking DD4 up from preschool. I'm planning on drinking and dising all night. DH is working on the ambulance all night, so I don't have to worry about him. So, look for me around 9pm eastern.

Hiya, T. I plan on some vino esta noche, so hopefully I'll catch you!

OK, ladies. I don't speak a lick of Spanish, so let's try to keep it to english tonight, okay? Or else I'll have to break out my German!

It's easy to find it for $1.85.. I have seen $1.77
Never thought I would see gas again with a "1" in front of it.

I totally understand. I filled up for $1.81 today. It was so nice!

BTW, Katt, nice ticker!! :)

:lmao: On the dream. Gas is $1.82 here. It's probably cheaper in Indy. Oh Jodi????!!!!!

See above. I filled up for $1.81, but DH has seen it for $1.69 closer to town. Out in the rich burbs where I live, it's a little higher.

Slate - I'll be sending you an email. I'm in for the :santa: stuff!

Jen - sorry about the cramps. Go buy some wine and join us later! It will make you feel better!

Angela - got a text today that the Texans returned over 400 ticket to the Colts game on Sunday. DH said that he would take me to a game for my Christmas present. Am I mad for deciding not to go? I want to wait until the Dec 28th game against the Titans. Hopefully we'll find some tickets for that one, especially if the Colts are still in the playoff hunt. Am I crazy??:confused:

Well, I did some shopping today, had lunch with DD7 at school, picked DD4 up from preschool and then went to the Y to workout.

DD7 has piano at 5:30, followed by movie night at school. DD4 and I are going to a friend's house to have our own movie night. After I pick DD7 up at 8:30, I'll be here with my wine. :cloud9:
