So, a contacts question. I've had the contacts for a week now. They feel fine, but they don't help me see really. It feels like I don't have my glasses on. My Rx is so small, that it's passable, but shouldn't I see great by now? :confused3 I think I'll have to go back. :guilty:

You should be able to see at least as well as you do with your glasses. In fact, I usually see better with my contacts than with my glasses. You definitely need to go back there, Dawn.

So, at the eye doctor this morning, the doctor pulled out this card with really small writing on it and asked me if I could read it! I must be getting old now! She's checking to see if I need reading glasses!!! Luckily, I could read the smallest line just fine! No bifocals needed for me! I just can't see far away. :sad2:

Just popping in to say bye to Jo. Have a safe and wonderful trip. Can't wait to hear all about it:goodvibes

Kat - Your tree is gorgeous!:santa:

OH NO! I missed Jo! Bye Jo! Have a safe trip and come back and tell us ALL about it!

Do you think she'll recheck me or just give me something else? :confused3

Hey ya'll.

Just back from the orthodontist with Jon. We're supposed to have our phone consult within the next few days to set our appt. to put on braces. Can you say money money money?

After the ortho, I took Jon to get his haircut. Where the lady shaved his head. Without permission. She used the wrong guard and now he has a buzz. He actually looks cute!

I'm also taking over a night school class tonight for one of our math teachers. Just for fun...and because before I start my MSW program, I have decided to get my teaching certificate...which I'll do in a year. :lmao: Indecisive? Me??? Nope! ;)

And...ummm...I felt better for a while this afternoon and now I feel like doody again.

 Have a good evening ya'll!

Maybe both. She'll probably recheck you with the contact in and possibly up the prescription or try a different type of lenses. When I made the switch from gas perm lenses to soft toric, I tried at least three brands/types before finding some that work for me. The good thing about my doctor is that she doesn't charge you until you find the final solution.

Ugh. I called and she will be rechecking me. What a pain. The kids get so tired of going with me. I wonder if I can convince Grandma to stay until the appt is over so the kids don't have to go with me. :thumbsup2

have a great trip jo!!!!! can't wait to hear all about it!!!

dawn-- def need a recheck. sorry. it does suck!!

No kids is always the best way! I love having my little one in preschool for just that reason. I can run errands and go to doctors' appointments by myself! :thumbsup2

I aim to please.

icecream.jpg

Ummm, shouldn't it be chocolate ice cream? :confused3 And that is so wrong on so many levels.

Forgot to share that I bought my ornament and my Secret Santa present today! Now, I've got to get my cards started....:rolleyes1

Fantastic

Thanks!

Good luck you can do it :thumbsup2

Well, no, but we put up a good fight.

Wooo hooo!!!

It was definitely cool!

Headband? Baretts? Bobby pins?

I finally found a barette that worked, but the thing is that I ONLY use ponytail holders as a rule. It's too layered in back for a pony and nearly too short in front to put up together at all, so... I bought a bunch more barrettes today, AFTER the match. :)

I love that I'm finding a gazillion old friends from Buffalo on Facebook. BUT, what the heck am I gonna do when I get back up there for a visit?! I'm normally only there for a few days and that's barely enough time to see the couple folks I normally see. Now there's a whole bunch more I'd love to catch up with! Ugh.

I understand - this is my life anytime we're in IL.

Probably they should come here! :goodvibes

Good suggestion!

Tomorrow. I'm turning 37.

Woohoo! You're two months older than me! :rotfl:

Seriously, happy birthday, a bit early.

I wanna see your hair. Good luck with Tennis!

She poufed it up a lot more than I usually do, and since I was playing this morning, I've not showered the gunk out. I'll get a picture tomorrow when it's nice and clean.

And thanks, but we lost. :lmao:

CE- Congrats on the Wii Win!

Thanks! We've got it all set up and going, though I'm sure my DH will want to hook it into surround sound and such. :thumbsup2

I'm chaperoning an overnight field trip to the Atlanta zoo. I think we'll have about 5 parents and 2-3 teachers. So, no computer access for me for most of this evening and tomorrow morning. :faint: I'll probably start feeling the withdrawal shakes at around 7 or so tonight. /QUOTE]

Oh, gee - have fun!

CE--headbands?

I don't own any, so this morning I was poop out of luck. ;)

I feel like poop. See you all later. Oh...it's strep.

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. Feel better.

Good Morning All!!

I hope you don't fall over anything! I'd find a headband that works!

Yup, too late for today, though. I didn't fall down! ;)

"I tripple-dog dare ya'!"
a_christmas_story.jpg

This movie is on RIGHT NOW. I am confused, though, as we always see it over and over on Christmas Eve. You don't think we're going to not have it then, do you? :guilty:

Errrr only tell a couple at a time you're visiting???? Do they all know each other? Could you have one big group meet? :rotfl2:

::yes:: Laugh, but this is how we do it. 50 people in mom's house? Sure!

CE - Congrats on the Wii!:yay:

thanks!

Jimmy said oh yeah, I remember but his name's not insertrealnamehere...it's Leo:lmao:

Awww... :cloud9:

Making baked chicken, couscous and squash tonight! I have to make my lists for Xmas cards, gifts, shipping, etc.....

Ah, good idea, I should at least do that.

CE- Baylie uses those head band things that are like huge pony tail holders with her pony tail. It holds back all the extras that fall out of the pony tail. Would that work? :confused3

Those are probably good, but I really can't make a pony at all. The overall look of the length hasn't changed - still nearly shoulder length, but not enough overall long pieces to do it.

The super came, finally. Of course it was after I was spread out on the coffee table doing my cards with carp everywhere, but at least he came. Luckily the majority of the problem is upstairs from me so I don't have to deal with him in my house! YAY!

I'm going back to my cards....

Oh, I'm glad he finally showed up!

I must be getting old now! She's checking to see if I need reading glasses!!! Luckily, I could read the smallest line just fine! No bifocals needed for me! I just can't see far away. :sad2:

Hey, I wear reading glasses! :headache: :rotfl: Seriously, though, when I had my appointment a couple of weeks ago, without my glasses, the little card was awful out of my right, but my left was better. Who knew?

After the ortho, I took Jon to get his haircut. Where the lady shaved his head. Without permission. She used the wrong guard and now he has a buzz. He actually looks cute!

My kids love the buzz cut. :confused3

********************************
OK, Mel has inspired me. I am off to make lists. Maybe even merge my addresses for card labels... See you all later!

Sorry you lost..

Thanks. My partner today is even newer to tennis than I am and didn't know the match basics of stuff like how to rotate serves, score-keeping, etc. (Which, admittedly, I learned from watching Wimbledon & the US Open this summer - they assume you know this in our practices.) She is a fantastic athlete, and we didn't play badly, but she was really nervous, understandably.

Plus, we'd not played together before, so we weren't sure of each other. We lost the first set 2-6, which sucked. The second set, we started to get our rhythm, but it was a little too late. We lost 4-6, which wasn't bad. I served one game where we went to deuce 6 times, which is fairly impressive. My arm hurts, though.

But, on the bright side, I can't pinpoint quite where we went wrong, so it was just a missed shot here and there, and not just horrible playing all the way through.
