Hey Guys and Gals. This is a covert post as Bob yelled at me to NOT sit at the computer, to be RESTING on the couch while he fills my prescriptions...blah blah blah. However, I wanted to catch up, or I might NEVER! And I wanted to say thank you.
By the way, I have 2 dozen friends and family members on FB that aren't Fockers and NOT ONE of them commented on my being in the hospital. Just sayin'..................
So, here's the story since no one really knew.
I had bad pains under my belly button on Wed. night before bed. My initial thought was Aunt Flo cramps, but it's two weeks away so that would be weird (sorry Mr. T if that's TMI...

). I took tylenol and went to bed. I had biked 8 miles or so that day at the gym on the recumbant bike, so who knows? Thursday I went to gym again. It hurt still, but not terrible. I biked 9.5 miles on the regular bike in case that other bike did it. I came home and napped. I felt feverish but figured I had a cold. Went to bed late and was up most of the night in ALOT of pain. I googled abdominal pain, fever and got APPENDICITIS. Read the symptoms and it sounded plausible so I packed boys lunches, got SD on the bus and woke Bob. I told him that it might be the appendix and that I was going to the ambulatory center (like a small town er, hence why they didn't have an MRI OR CAT there). They messed around with tests and stuff, then sent me for the CAT. I drove over there, but didn't want to call Bob to come home yet because I wasn't sure yet what was up.
After the tests were done, I went back to the little ER and they said, "Yup. Enlarged Appendix. Go to the City hospital ER and get admitted. You're having surgery." Then I texted Bob to meet me at home so I could drop off my car, shower quick and pack my pjs etc. I got to the ER at 1:30. They made us wait till 3 pm to see someone. I had blood work, pee test, and an exam. They confirmed the Appendicitis. I sent Bob home (Which he FOUGHT me tooth and nail on!!!!!) because I was worried about the boys getting home alone (I had to call gf's during the day while in the ER and have them bring the kids home, so they had NO idea where we were and what was going on..I was more worried about them!!!) They came to bring me up to surgery about 15 minutes later. I was in surgery for 1.5 hours. They gave me morphine before and after. The ansethesia was fine, the nurses and doctors were all WONDERFUL. It was a great experience, except for having my appendix removed.
I had room service, a full menu available for order 24 hrs (Yum), tv with a remote, internet (but I couldn't read it on the tv from my bed), an adjustable bed, loads of pillows, warm blankets and a call button for the nurse. They kept me hepped up on pain killers all night and morning. My nurses were so sweet. I loved them all. They checked me out this morning (after an entire night of blood work, blood pressure checks and pain med applications) and said I could go home around noon. Bob and the boys came up and got me and here I am.
I can't tell you how much your wishes and prayers meant to me. It was truly terrifying to find out OUT OF THE BLUE about having surgery. No time to prep, no time to warn the kids or arrange rides. I didn't know what to expect at all. You kind words (which Bob passed along to me the whole time!) meant SO much.
You are amazing friends. I love you all.
SO, on that note. Bob has just gotten home and is giving me an EVIL eye! LOL.
Welcome Debra: I'm Mel. (Sorry if you had to read ALOT about me...LOL) I have two boys, SD who is 16 and Gus who is 11. My husband NotBob or Bob (his nicknames...) is the center of my universe. When you meet him, you'll understand. ROFL. I live in Michigan, but am from Mass. originally. We love WDW and bought into DVC about a year ago. It was the most amazing thing we ever did! I'm the resident fuzzy visioned focker. I have glaucoma in both eyes and usually I'm talking about my eyes and not my appendix! LOL. Welcome! Jump right in. As you've seen we are a very supportive and loving bunch.
Thanks to everyone who texted, FB'd me and Bob, sent love and hugs.
Kat: loved your pics and mini tr. Your hair is gorgeous all curly.
Janet: Yay for Jimmy and no stage fright.

Happy Birthday Rachel
I'm sorry if I missed anyone. You guys forgive me right!?
Gotta go REST before Bob offs me.
