Really, wow!!!!

Yes, it seems like it finally is starting to taper off, but it's still coming. There has to be at least 5 inches out there. I am waiting until the city plow comes through again to snowblow. The kids were about 20 minutes late on the bus coming home, too.

The girls have been playing badminton with their friends in the garden today and got the shuttlecock stuck up the tree twice, one came down but the other is still there :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

See the Mickey head?

::yes:: took me a while, but I found it. Nice pics!

Oh, I thought I quoted Mel, but I just talked to my neighbor, and she's all excited that I'm having the party, so I'm feeling better about it. :lmao:

Wow Angela that was a tough one, very faint, that's if I'm looking right :rotfl:

You'll have fun. I used to have a Premier Designs jewelry business, and really you don't need to do much at all. Just invite your friends and put out some tea and brownies. :goodvibes

I don't know why last years was so much easier to see. Budget cuts! :rotfl: Actually the first game we were there, I missed it.

::yes:: We were typing at the same time, and if you read mine, you'll see that is EXACTLY what happened to me today! :rotfl:

Gotta love March. :rolleyes:

When I had The Weather Channel on this morning and saw that it was snowing around Boston I thought of ya and knew you might have been getting hit. Glad its you and not me though.

Sorry about the party last night but I hope you have fun at yours!

:rotfl: A friend of mine from IN lived in one time zone and worked in the other. I'd be so confused. ;)

:confused3 Seriously hpw would that work?!?!

I've got to take Maddie shoe shopping this afternoon. God help me! She drives me bonkers with shoes oh and socks. Her socks CANNOT have seams or she flips out. :rolleyes: I dread shoe shopping with Maddie.

Evan is so easy. He buys the same shoe everytime, just 1/2 size larger. Black suede Vans, velco strap. Easy peasy. ;)

Maddie sounds like a twin to Lindsey. The girl loves shoes but only wears about 3 pairs. DR is another shoe hound but wears them all.

Now I'm eating Cadbury egg and no one's allowed to talk to me. :rolleyes:

I'm sorry Dawn. I've had those days myself. But :lmao: to the above statement!

Online check in for my cruise is complete! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

I so can't wait! :rolleyes1

:banana: :banana: :banana:

It's still snowing. :headache:

UGH! :headache: Is it sticking to the roads?

OMG! I just experienced the attack of the demon toilet! :scared1: :scared: :scared1: :scared:

I was sitting at my computer when all of the sudden I heard this really loud and scary gurgling type noise coming from the basement bathroom. I went to check it out and the toilet was possessed! The water was gurgling and bubbling and spewing water everywhere and making this really horrific sound. It was frightening! I yelled for Erich to come check it out but he was too slow and it had stopped right before he showed up. The sink in the bathroom and in the laundry room were also making really strange noises. It was so bizarre! The bathrooms and the sinks upstairs were unaffected though. :confused3

We heard work being done outside and there was a big Utilities truck down the street at the sewer but holy they should warn people if their work is going to effect the house like that! I was afraid our pipes were going to explode or something! Not to mention the bathroom floor was covered in water from the toilet possession. :headache:

Our poor cat Hobbes was so scared by the whole ordeal that his tail completely puffed up and he was cowering in a corner. Poor kitty. :sad2:

Scarey!

Just a note to say that I am alive and back in Computer Land! The computer was fixed and rebooted, now I am way behind on my work! I have school fliers to be created and trip plans to firm up! Who has a great Studios plan?

:wave: Hi Jen!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Fockers! Sorry if I didn't quote you from above. I was just kind of scanning through. But :wave: to you!
I'm getting ready to make dinner. My tummy is growling so I must be hungry. LOL I'm making chicken fried rice but will be ordering egg rolls, crab rangoon and dumplings from our local Chinese place. YUM!
The kids are outside playing and I'm sure getting into the mud. :sad2: They are washable and so are their clothes. Thank goodness for washers with muddy settings. It's a little cool out but sunny so I'll them play and get tired out. Once dinner is over it will be bathtime and get some Benydryl for nite nite time. Thank goodness!
OK...off to make dinner before I eat something I shouldn't and ruin my dinner.
I feel asleep on the couch....for 3 hours!! :eek:
Obviously I'm not over the time change yet.
Going to make dinner. I think KC left work almost ON TIME today. :banana:
You'll have fun. I used to have a Premier Designs jewelry business, and really you don't need to do much at all. Just invite your friends and put out some tea and brownies. :goodvibes
No, I know. I just wish it was something I was more excited about getting. Jewelry sounds better... ;) And forget tea - we're having booze! :rotfl:
Sorry about the party last night but I hope you have fun at yours!
At least I'll know more people... :rotfl:
UGH! :headache: Is it sticking to the roads?
Oh, yeah. We got a good 6 inches - D just came in from snowblowing. It's the warmest it's been all day - 31. :rolleyes:
CE - snow still! we have just rain here, thank goodness, how's your neck.
It's moving a bit more. I think I'll sit and watch TV with a hot pack on it, and it'll be OK. :)
Yeah, we got hit hard. It's supposed to be back to the high 40's for most of the week, though. :confused3
Hey! I broke 4800 posts! :banana:
kool_aid.jpg
Ya gotta love "Kool-Aid Man" :teeth:
BTW Like how close your ticker is getting too :)
So I got an email this morning from the Girl Scout council that my scheduled cookie booth time was 9am-1pm. I know that's not right, because I would NEVER book ANYTHING that wasn't life threatening at that unGODLY hour! :sad2: Oh well.... it's done.
9:00 seems awfully early I could see 10-2
T- We have the yellow pollen all over the trees across the street too. We've been suffering too. :guilty:
Sarabeth is having a terrible time.. and nothing is really blooming yet. The Bradford Pears will be coming out this week.
:sad1: I counted to 10, I started shutting the garage door... more screaming and crying and jumping up and down. I finally got out of the car, yanked him inside the house, and after some physical persuation:rolleyes: , he ran to the car to get away from me. :mad: :headache: Little sh*t... :headache:
Not frustrated are you :rolleyes1 Sorry he has been testing his Momma today. Joshua has doen the same thing but he does it with Clothes.. Shirts especially.
OMG! I just experienced the attack of the demon toilet! :scared1: :scared: :scared1: :scared:
Kristel- Your updates are great! :worship: See comments in Navy.
Sorry if I kill any floss. Here we go.....No floss died in the making of this response.
Z had to cancel her Disney trip. Sorry Z! :hug:
G-Luv had a visit from the Motha. She's has nothing to rant about. 12 days until her Disney trip. Glad you survived it Jen! The time change is throwing our family for a loop as well. Another few days and it should settle in, I hope...
Lori's kids went nutso in Walmart. She grabbed them and left the store. They were angels after that. She has a kid that actually likes zucchini. WTG Lori! :goodvibes
Katt has been very busy. She doin' a lot of fly-bys. Oh and she swears by Biz for the clothes of little boys. Hi Katt! :wave:
T said Waldo had to go to the ER. He had some 'plumbing' issues. Her cookie booth got shut out by a scheduling problem. Sorry about the cookie booth. If I could only get rid of all the ones in my kitchten, I'd be doing a bit better.
Janet's zoo trip got rained out. Yesterday turned into P.J. day. She's helping with a silent auction for school. Jim is sick. Hope all are feeling better.
Jo has been eating cake and winning at golf. Hey Jo! Yup, babysitting class. DD11 is now certified via a class from this organization - www.safesitter.org.
Mel partied at some of the local dives. Does your mouth still taste like a dirty ash tray?? I think we already compared notes on our happy hours over the weekend.
V got Leos picks for camp. They suck at mini golf but had fun. We're pretty much the same on the whole putt-putt experience. :rotfl:
Tig has had his hands full. The project he was working on at work has been scaled back by at least half. His wife has been caught up in the scale back at school. She is looking for another teaching job. Jenny's been busy sending resumes, so we're keeping our fingers, and toes, crossed. Thankfully, her current contract runs through the end of August, so she has some time for the search. I've still got to give the student we interviewed at work the bad news. I hate to do it, but I'm not going to have a choice. It didn't happen today, but more on that below.
Dawn is done with the realtor. She hopes to have the house on the market by Thur.Good luck with the house sale. On the reading question, you may want to try the local comic book store. DC and Marvel have some series out for young readers. When DS wasn't too interested in reading, we made a few trips to the comic book store and picked out some comic books for him to read with me and Jenny.
Kat has had to spend all weekend with a visitor who wouldn't leave. KC's uncle had been there since Thurs. He finally left yesterday. Now she can parade around at her braless leisure. Glad you have your home to yourself again.:thumbsup2
TE was glad she popped on here. She had forgotten about the DST thing. She's been chatting with goat people about Sugar. I think Sug stopped walking a week ago. I hope she gets better, TE!Ditto! Hope Sugar's doing better!
CE's ski weekend went well. She had to rent boots because they forgot hers. She was feeling kinda puky yesterday. They went to check out boats but not many places were open. She went to a candle party that needed more wine. Hope you are doing better. Sorry to hear about the new snow storm. :cold:
Mrs TK wants to start a petition to stop DST. I don't think she'd have too much trouble getting some signatures here. Where do I sign?
Mo is dealing with fibro flare. Planning her Cali. trip with T's help. Hope the flare has died down some. Have fun at DLR.
Rosie's ke board is un er war any. So she's happy. She's been having internet problems too. Hope the new keyboard arrives in a hurry.
Lessa says her mother is a Jedi now. I still think you ought to let us send her some trivia questions. These are not the droids you are looking for. We've never made it to the Star Wars weekends, and given that both Jenny and I are big Star Wars people, it's a bit of a shame. It's not going to happen this year or next; maybe sometime after that...
Angie went to a Braves game. They won. She has been packing.Give DS6 a few more years and I think we may have to do a father-son trip for a pre-season game (and ESPN weekend if I can swing it right).
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
They are pounding away on the roof as we speak. I hope they get done before I have to leave for town. My appt. for the taxes is at 2 PM. I'll be leaving at 1.
I noticed they haven't posted the park hours for Sept. yet. I think they will be the same as last year. I just want to check before I make my final decisions.
I've got my appointment Thursday morning, and I'm not ready for it. We'll have to do some organizing tomorrow night, so I'll be ready. It really sucks about the delay in hours posting. We're also a bit upset over the 90-day ADR window.
I just wrote BBB re a scam I received !!! Called the company ad when I said I didn't blieve it they hung up!!!!MMMMM!!!!
I think we'll see more of this as the economy worsens.
i tried to make coffee this am , and water started pouring out of the bottom of the pot!! :headache: i have no clue how it got a hole in it! so , i'm coffeeless!
Oh no! :faint: How did you survive?
Online check in for my cruise is complete!
:woohoo: I hope y'all have a blast on it! I think we're gonna pass on cruises for a while. The kids enjoyed the one last April, but I think WDW would be a better fit for the next several years.
OMG! I just experienced the attack of the demon toilet!
I'm glad y'all survived the experience.
These aren't as good as I'd like but the middle of the afternoon is not a good time for picture taking.
See the Mickey head?
BravesSpringTraining2009078-Copy.jpg
I love it! :cool1: As I said, DS and I will have to make a trip in the next few years.
Yes, it seems like it finally is starting to taper off, but it's still coming. There has to be at least 5 inches out there. I am waiting until the city plow comes through again to snowblow. The kids were about 20 minutes late on the bus coming home, too.
I really hope this is the last storm for you this year! :hug:
Once dinner is over it will be bathtime and get some Benydryl for nite nite time. Thank goodness!
So, Lori is the Benydryl for you or the kids? I sometimes wonder whether I should take it or give it to the kids...:rolleyes:
Hi Fockers,
Hi Mo! :wave2:
Hi Mel! :wave: I thought I hit a quote of yours, but somehow it's not here...
---------------------------------------------------
It's been an exciting couple of days.
Yesterday we had the Purim Carnival. Tonight is the actual begining of the Purim holiday, but we did not make it to tonight's activities as I'll explain below. As background, Purim is holiday commemerating the downfall of a tyrant bent on genocide through the activities of an unlikely hero and heroine. It's a pretty upbeat holiday. Kids dress in costumes; people put on comedies and parodies. The tradition is to drink to the point where you cannot distinguish the hero from the villain of the story.:drinking1
So, I was in charge of coordinating the preparation and serving of lunches to about 250 people at the carnival. That went fairly well. We did eventually run out of hot dogs, so we had to upgrade the last few to chicken lunches. The girls came home with some interesting colors and glitter in their hair and some face painting. Jenny took over at the end and helped with clean-up, so I could run with DS to his cub scout meeting that afternoon.
We visited a fire station with his cub scout den. The tour started with a good fire safety presentation by one of the fire fighters. This particular station also had a fire fighting museum. They had a vintage engine from the 50s.
The day ended well and everyone got to sleep at a fairly reasonable hour. Today started out well. Everyone safely off to work and school. I got a call at around 10 to come pick up DD11. Apparently, the fifth grade was having a rash of hair lice. DD11 was one of those identified. I'm not sure she really did given the glitter and colored paint from yesterday's carnival. But, it's not something to take chances with. So, I spent a good portion of the rest of the day picking up the right supplies to do kill the lice, and we did the first treatment. We've got to repeat the treatment two more times over the next two weeks. We've also been tracking down linen, stuffed animals, clothes, etc. and doing lots of :laundy: . Speaking of which, I think it's time to switch the loads, and I think I'll go join Jenny and the girls for a bit while they watch Dancing with the Stars...
I'm looking for a better day tomorrow! :goodvibes Have a good night everyone!
Hello anyone here???
It has been a crazy day and the week isn't going to improve much. I got to work and started reviewing cases and creating caseloads, and didn't stop until 4:15 :faint:
It's going to be like this for a while, so Kristel I'm counting on you for your updates:flower3:
HAve ag ood night everyone!
I like the me in Kristel's recaps better then the real me!!!
:flower3: Is there still room for a MIA Focker around here? I think it's been at least 20 pages since I appeared here. Will you guys forgive me please??:guilty:
I read the most recent update by our resident super update master, Kristel, but if there's anything else going on, will someone let me know?
I've just been busy with Girl Scout cookies, cleaning my house, sick kids and general every day life. Nothing big going on here, just life as usual.
I'm hoping to get back on here a little more regularly though! Hope all is well for everyone!
So... is there anybody around ??
I've been reading - sat and read one of my normal amazon.com preview books in one sitting. It was a young adult, but really supremely well done. I liked it. :thumbsup2
So wish me luck for the rest of the night!!!!
Oh, my goodness Rosie. I'm so sorry! What a day!
I really hope this is the last storm for you this year! :hug:
Thanks, me too. :goodvibes
Speaking of which, I think it's time to switch the loads,
I'm glad you said this, because I have a load in the washer that has been there all evening. Gah!
It's going to be like this for a while, so Kristel I'm counting on you for your updates:flower3:
Miss you, hope it works out smoothly this week!
**************************************************
D's asleep on the couch, and I do need to change the laundry.
Hope you all have a good night. Tuesdays are my busy day - my tennis, then the boys, though since they changed the time, I don't have to pick them up, anymore. :thumbsup2
I don't know what D is doing tomorrow, so I may or may not be around. But, D's gone Wed/Thur. so I will be around more.
I'll be around tomorrow, Katt. :goodvibes
David- Good idea on the comics thing! He's obsessed with Batman and other heros.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm feeling better about the reading thing. A bunch of my hs buddies reminded me why it's reasonable to expect my kids to be like everyone else's. one of my friends reminded me that I don't have to justify my choices to my family members either. I really think that's what started this frustrated feeling. My MIL's been picking at me for months about Aiden needing to learn to read like "other 6 yr olds." She makes me feel like he's not smart or something.
But he is. He's articulate, smart, very athletic, has an amazing vocabulary... I need to stop trying to justify my decisions and choices where my kids are concerned. I've done a great job up until now and just because he's not learning something in her time frame doesn't mean he's behind. So there. Hmmf! :snooty:

So, in other news, Kirt stayed in Austin tonight. I miss him. He's been so busy. I know it's just for a little while until things get settled at work, but it's been hard on everyone. :guilty: Start sending the prayers and good thoughts about the house selling, okay? If the house sells, I can finally relax! :thumbsup2

Can I really be first this morning? :confused:

Good morning!

Dawn, I'm sure it will all work out fine. :hug:

I'm off to tennis here in a few minutes, just popping in to wish everyone a Happy Tuesday!!!

See you later!

:flower3: Is there still room for a MIA Focker around here? I think it's been at least 20 pages since I appeared here. Will you guys forgive me please??:guilty:
No forgiving necessary. We missed you. Glad you're back! :goodvibes

Miss you too, Janet! Don't work too hard! :goodvibes

I don't know what D is doing tomorrow, so I may or may not be around. But, D's gone Wed/Thur. so I will be around more.
Have fun at tennis. We'll be here when you get back! :thumbsup2

SD didn't have school today (something about Juniors taking the ACT test) so he went off to a friends house last night. I am picking him up at 11 am and we're going to work out. :banana:
Gus is at school. He is very upset that SD doesn't have school today. I told him he'll get his chance to be a sophomore someday too! ;)

It's pouring outside. We are under a high wind watch and a flood watch. I used to mind the rain, but now I'm just glad it's not SNOW!!!
Bob had to go to Ohio for the day. He'll be home late tonight though.

I'm going to crash on the couch. Hope you guys have a GREAT day!
