Awwww! What a cute sight! Is she in 2nd grade this year? My ds is heading into 1st. We get out class lists next week, I think... I am waiting patiently! We don't start school until after Labor Day. When do you start?

Yup. She's in 2nd grade. We've got her ice cream social tonight and school starts on Monday. I just got an email from a mom whose DD had this teacher last year and she absolutely loved her. Her DD is a lot like mine -- sensitive, but very very smart. This is what she said about her: "She was very supportive of my little girl who tends to be sensitive but also pushed/challenged her to move ahead at her own pace." That sounds perfect for my little girl!!! :cloud9:

Ohh... I don't know Buzz. :confused3

I was just wondering, because I have asked what that was like 10x and NO one answers me. :confused3 Thanks everyone! Now Jen is in the KNOW! :thumbsup2

Buzz is MontanaDisneyFan on the DISboards, but he's not around anymore. He got caught up in the mess that happened earlier this spring. His TRs were legendary though (The Man Report).

Ed and I are meeting with him in October when we head to WDW. If you wanna see a pic of him, my DH and I actually met him on our December trip and there's a pic in my still unfinished TR (link below). Speaking of which, I've gotta get back to that....:rolleyes1

I'm feeling a titch bit better about school. It gets better every day. Ask me next Wednesday...the first day! :eek: :faint:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, honies. Jon is sick. I'm thinking either a sinus infection or upper respiratory infection. He started heading downhill early this afternoon.
He spiked a fever...and when he does...I have to dose him with steroids. Because of his Addison's disease. Long explanation...and I"m not patient enough to go into it.
Anywho...pray that he stays controlled or we're off to the ER. Which would mean admitting him and IV cortizone.
He's sleeping now...so that's good. As long as I can keep his fever under control we can stay home...as long as he gets no worse. We'll head to the doc tomorrow.
Long night ahead of me. :sad2:
Hope he is doing better today and I am glad you are getting more comfortable about school.
Okay, it's my turn to vent about in-laws a bit....
So, my DH is having a "procedure" next Thursday morning (really really really early). We have to be there at 6am. School starts here on Monday, so my DD7 will have to get on the bus. DH had called his parents (who live in our town) right after scheduling this appointment (about 3 weeks ago) to see if they could spend the night in our house the night before and take care of our girls during the morning. His dad said, no problem.
Well, he calls his parents tonight and his dad informed him that they are headed up north to their old house (which they haven't sold yet) on Tuesday. So, it seems that the agreement to watch our kids during DH's surgery didn't mean anything to them! :mad:
Now, I know that my mom will drive down 1 1/2 hours to watch my girls that morning without complaining, but it bugs me that they agreed to do it, until they found something more fun to do. They did the same thing when my DH tried to surprise me with a trip to Hawaii a few years ago. They were all set to watch the girls for half the time and then got a family wedding invitation and decided that was more important than our kids. So, once again, my mom had to step in and help us out.
And my MIL wonders why I trust my mom more than her????
That is just plain wrong and the sad thing is I am sure they do not see it that way and don't get why you get frustrated. They I am sure thing they are great and ever so helpful.
On a much better note than my previous post, we got the official class lists for DD7's school tonight. While we were standing at the school's front doors looking at the lists, my DD's teacher walked up to go inside and work in her room. DD7 saw her and ran over and gave her a big hug and said that she was so glad to be in her class. And the teacher responded in kind. She said that she was very excited to have found out that my DD was in her class too. So, I'm feeling pretty good about this year! She seems very nice and my DD needs a sweet teacher for once. :cutie:
This is great news. It makes school much better when you have a teacher you like and know likes you.
He seems good now!
I am glad to hear he is doing good.
Not much going on here today. I need to get my mom's perceptions straightened out. She uses a mail order place and they are aways not getting the prescriptions and mom looses track of what she has refills for and what she needs to get next. I also need to stop at the farmers market and get some fruit and veggies for the week end. My dn is turning 1. I am not sure what to get him for a gift. The party is tomorrow and I have nothing for the little guy.
Wow- I have tons of stuff to do, so my evening Dising time has been limited and you girls go and chat a ton....!!!!!!
Jodi - IL's:mad: I wouldnt' let my il's watch Jimmy becasue they aren't healthy enough to do so, but if they were I would hope they would do it for us.
--BTW - it is probably a good idea to finish that report:rolleyes1
Katt - If I lived closer I would watch the kids for ya:hug:
Carrie - Here in PA they are called State Stores becasue they are run by the state :sad2: We can only buy beer from a distributor or some bars can sell 6 packs. No beer or wine in the grocery store.
Jo - HAve a safe trip thome.
Jen2 - Hope JOn is feeling better.
Lessa - when is your "date"?
HI everyone else. Busy day again. Try to keep the chatter to minimum so I can keep up:rolleyes1
We call th ABC stores (alcoholic beverage control) as they are state run.
And I believe Jen is the Official ZPS detector,,,,,,,, and I know that Mo is our Official Poop Expert so they must work in the same department! :lmao:
jodi-I think a little grandma guilt is in order..........."Oh no, the kids were so looking forward to seeing you..........and I was sure you wanted to be close during your son's surgery....well, I hope their other grandma is feeling better now and can drive that far......"
Morning everyone! Have swimming lessons for Gus again today but it's the last one! YAY! I am SO sick of driving back and forth to the lake! He's doing great though.
We watched most of Troy last night (it was on AMC, so censored) we have to finish it today. It's GORGEOUS outside! I'm thinking about bringing lunch to the lake today so the kids can stay and swim for a while after the lesson. I have to see if SD wants to come.
Lessa: I know, I know. I'll get over there....sorry. I haven't updated mine and I haven't read anyones....My life is settling down though...
Tomorrow is the eye appt. and FINALLY Bob comes home. I can't wait! (For Bob, not the eye appt....:rotfl2: )
Glad Jo's coming home. I miss her. :love:
I plan on visiting the Post Office Box today though, so JODI and JEN, I will finally have the FLAT peeps!
MEL:banana:
Well, he calls his parents tonight and his dad informed him that they are headed up north to their old house (which they haven't sold yet) on Tuesday. So, it seems that the agreement to watch our kids during DH's surgery didn't mean anything to them! :mad:
So, when DH reminds them that they said they would babysit, they were like, yea, no. :confused3 That's smarmy! :headache:
I know everyone has problems with their in-laws but DH's dad passed away 9 years ago and his mom 3. He misses them so badly that I'd put up with some of their carp if they were still around. But maybe I say that since they are gone. :rolleyes:
````````````````````````````````````````````````````

I've started going back to the gym but also have recently gotten planter fasciitis. My shoe really hurt my foot so the doctor told me to get shoes with support and support socks. Doesn't that make me sound old! :headache: So I'm off to the Track Shack to see if they can help. Then hopefully I can hit the pool and read. I just finished Fuzzy Navel by J.A. Konrath and started Holly Would Dream by Karen Quinn. Both very good!:thumbsup2

jodi-I think a little grandma guilt is in order..........."Oh no, the kids were so looking forward to seeing you..........and I was sure you wanted to be close during your son's surgery....well, I hope their other grandma is feeling better now and can drive that far......"

Okay, so after talking with my DH this morning, I guess the situation is a bit different. He refuses to tell his mom about his "procedure". So, she doesn't know that his dad was planning on keeping the girls???

I'm not quite sure how they were going to get around telling her when the time came though. I mean, what explanation was FIL going to give when he told her that they had to spend the night at our house?? I don't get it.

So, she made these plans without even knowing about our plans. I can sorta understand why DH doesn't want to tell her. She's a major worrywart and will keep harping on how he feels for weeks upon end. But it sorta makes us change our plans.

So, this is now the idea my DH came up with. Instead of having my mom drive down for such a small period of time, he says he's just going to drive over to the surgery center himself that morning. Then, after DD7 gets on the bus, I can have a friend drive me and DD4 over. It's actually very close to our house, so that wouldn't be a problem. But, then he'll be by himself while waiting before the procedure, which I don't feel good about....

I don't know... I'm going to wait until I talk to my mom. See what she says. Maybe she'll insist on coming down....

Wow Amy they've all grown so much, Rachel looks so grown up and Tyler too!!!! Enjoy the peace, BTW how was the rafting?
Hi,Jo! I think all Tyler and Rachel do is grow.They are the tallest in their classes.Rebekah is the tallest in her entire grade.Rafting was awesome!I am totally addicted to it now.
So the House is a Little quiet huh??
At first it's weird and and Sad and then you realize they always come home.. and you actually can find yourself looking forward... the that BUS Rolling Down the street.

I cried so hard when Sara left for School for Kindergarden.. Now I find my self Looking out my Kitchen Window to tell her.. "Hey the Bus is on the next street... better get out there. I'm a BAAAAAAD MOMMY:goodvibes

O.K... I am REALLY WORRIED NOW.. Joshua was Born liking Girls... ( Blondes especially ) and Sara had her first crush at 4.

But then again.. I cornered a Guy in first grade and laid one on him...
It was quiet yesterday.But not bad at all...I got a call from Rebekah's preschool when she was 3.She had been taking boys behind the door and kissing them.
Bright eyed and bushy talied for the new school year:goodvibes
They were yesterday..not so much today.:rolleyes:
Awww the kids look great. Wow you guys start the school year early in Georgia. Why'd it start on a Wed though?
I don't know why they started on a Wednesday.:confused3
AMY: GORGEOUS family you have there! Rach looks like a BIG GIRL! :)

-------------
Ok, I'm here!
Had swimming this am. Gus is doing AWESOME! Then ran home, showered and got dressed to go have lunch with my librarian friend at her house. It's about 35 mins to her house, and I was so glad to have a bit of quiet time to listen to NPR and just RELAX. It's been heck at my house for a week or more. SD is doing SO well (by the way, that's my DS15 for those of you NOT reading my TR....) He hasn't had any pills (valium) since the first day he was prescribed. And today he mowed the yard. I think he's better. Or at least I am hoping and praying he is.

Gus and I weeded the strawberry patch while SD mowed. I thought we should stay close by in case he needed me. No need, he was great. I am making some blueberry pancakes for dinner (Kat gave me the idea) and then we are going to play Disney Sorry and watch Jungle Book 2 on the Disney channel.

MEL:banana:
Rachel does look like a big girl.:sad1: I am glad SD is doing better.:goodvibes
I was so excited to pull up to Wilderness Lodge since we had not been there before, and we were not disappointed. It's lovely! :goodvibes
Loved reading about your trip and great pics!
BA wants me off so she can play webkinz with her friends---do your girls like them?
Rebekah spends time on Webkinz everyday.
B would ignore anything with a boy/girl theme ( or a girl/boy/boy/boy theme! :lmao: ), but C is problem. She's into trying to dance with an attitude and dress inappropriately- only with dancing and 'performing' not in everyday life, but still... [/COLOR]
C sounds just like Rachel.
hey girls, just a quick drive by here. i'm all caught up, so :hug: :hug: !!!

had to work past two days, so now i need to clean house and go finish breaking dawn. i was going to read little at a time, but i CAN:T!!! i have to find out what is going to happen!!! i know , i 'm weak!
Breaking Dawn was awesome! I read all day yesterday...

I have the exact same problem with my Il.They say they will watch them but I never know until the day comes if they will actually do it.And they refused to watch them until they were potty trained.

My SIL has that and has had alot of pain from it.She says the right shoes do make a big difference.I think her asics are her favorites but they were $100.

It was ALL drama at my house this morning.It shouldn't be that hard to get four independent kids out the door.This morning Tyler FREAKED out over his hair and it took me twenty minutes to just get him to come out of the bathroom.Peyton was up in the middle of the night scrubbing his new shoes with a toothbrush and then this morning he couldn't find his bus form that I signed last night and practically hyperventilated when I suggested that he turn one in this afternoon.Rebekah tried to sneak out in holey shorts that used to be Tyler's and proceeded to argue when I said there was NO way she was going to school looking like a homeless person.Rachel woke me up at 3:00 am too inform me she was not EVER going back to school.This morning we had to drag her screaming out of the bed.She said she would puke on the teacher and I would have to pick her up from school early.

I read all day yesterday so I need to do some major cleaning/laundry today.Everyone have a great day!

Hi everyone! :wave: Jo sent out the search party - it's your long lost Focker checking in! :goodvibes I'm sorry that I've been MIA again from the boards - it's been a really busy summer. I hope everyone is doing well, and to those of you going to WDW in the next few weeks...

:yay: :banana: HAVE A GREAT TIME!!! :banana: :yay:

I hope my Flat Michelle doesn't cause too much trouble at FockerFest! ;) :teeth:

We've been doing some weekend trips over the summer, and we just got back from Chicago where we saw the new traveling Cirque show, Kooza! It was amazing and I highly recommend it! Here's a video clip on YouTube about the show...

Cirque Du Soleil - Kooza

and here's a couple of pictures of us to show you all that we're still alive! LOL! :rotfl:

I've got soooo much catching up to do on the DISboards, it's pretty overwhelming. :faint: I'm going to try and start a new TR this fall, so I will hopefully get caught up with everyone by then. I'm going to follow V's lead and do a re-cap TR in my pre-TR and then write about our upcoming WDW trips, which ends with our 20th Anniversary get-away in January. :cloud9: I don't know about anyone else, but this year is just flying by. :eek: I can't believe that summer is almost over. I already had to register the kids for school this week. :sad2:

Sending hugs out to everyone! :grouphug:

Yay:yay: :yay: Michelle has checked in. Glad all is well:thumbsup2

Rebekah spends time on Webkinz everyday.

me! Dismom-Amy (no title)

O.K.. How many of our Little "Fockerlings" do we have now that do "Webkinz"
Maybe we should find a Time and "Zone" and share their "webkinz" names and let them play some and explore each others homes.

I have already made that addition :thumbsup2

WOW it's the second day of school and they are already acting like the year is half over.

Sorry for your Drama.. BUT :rotfl2: It makes a good READ.

I had to do that myself when I had ONE of my surgeries... I drove my self over.. and Scott met me AFTER the surgery was over.

I had another one.. ( knee Surgery)that Scott and the kids had to leave because Joshua could not handle being there and waiting even in my room.( he freaked when they pu the IV in) :sad2: So I spent Hours:guilty: ( DELAYED SURGERY due to EMERGENCY) Waiting... ALL ALONE.:sad1: And I was scared.. and I cried.

But the "SHORT" wait with DH will WORK. And that way no body is "Put Out"

GEEZ LOUISE - 5 pages since I last checked in?! :faint: Sorry guys - I just can't keep up, too much to get done this week. :guilty:

Hope everyone's Thursday is going well. :grouphug:

Hi everyone! :wave:
Hi Michelle! :wave:
I hope my Flat Michelle doesn't cause too much trouble at FockerFest! ;) :teeth:
Yeah, she's gotten herself into BIG trouble at my house! :eek:

Okay, okay - she's only made it from my dining room table to my suitcase. :sad2: I feel like I'm letting her down, not getting out to see the "sights" of West-Central FL!
I'm going to try and start a new TR this fall
Yay!! :yay:

:cool1: Yea! Michelle and family are doing good! Let us know when you poke back in and start that PTR! :banana:

JODI~ Thank you, Thank you for explaining all of that! I never read that report and wasn't involved with the drama. Still unsure what happened. I'm fine with that. :)

I bet your DD will have a rock star year! We need more teachers willing to go the extra mile and push the higher achievers higher. :thumbsup2 (:idea: maybe we should pay them better:rolleyes1 )

Amy~ My what drama you had for the 2nd day! I suggest setting clothes out the night before to help with some of it. I learn my lesson last year! (my Mr. Easy Going decided to be Mr. NOT Easy going!)

Jo~ It will be fun to have you back on a regular basis! :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are heading for a playdate with a friend I work on school stuff with. I am still not feeling myself. I slept all of 4 hours last night and that was because my DH stayed home this AM until minutes ago.:hug:
We have a big party we are attending tomorrow night (8.8.08). I want to bring a easy, but yummo appy. Any ideas? I want something that is not a "norm" midwestern appy. There will be close to 100 people there, a band, drinks and a pool. I am lucky that it is just up the road, so I don't have to travel far. I guess most people wear their swim suits, BUT I AM NOT! NO WAY!:scared1:
I'm sorry I can't chat today or even catch up. I'm running a few errands then I'm heading to Austin for my mom's surgery.
I'll catch you all tomorrow! :goodvibes
Katt- My DS does Wekinz. Well...I should say, I do his. I have gotten a little lazy lately and haven't watered his garden and now it is all dried up!
