Her'es the AccuV forecast for pretty much any time in Paris:

RAIN.

Yep, showers forecasted every day, at least a chance. I'm taking my brolly!

My only concern is how much walking will you be doing? The streets and many sidewalks are cobblestone-y - would the ballet flat Crocs give enough support so you don't twist an ankle?

I think they'd be as good as any other choice I currently have. :confused3

Do you have an itinerary? List of places to go? Anything through which I can live vicariously?! :yay:

D's really never been aside from the airport, and I was only in Paris for 2 days. I'd like more than 20 minutes in the Louvre. :rotfl: D sounds vaguely interested in Versailles. We'll have to see Notre Dame... The hotel is right by the Tour Eiffel... We mostly just like to walk and wander. I have a Frommer's guide with some walking tour ideas. I loved Montmarte in 1998, but I hear it's getting fairly touristy now, after Amelie. :)

Any good suggestions of "have to sees?" :goodvibes

ya know, you have to distance yourself when you work in the er, but some of the things that come in, it's hard not to let it get to you. :worried: but i guess if i didn't let anything get to me, i wouldn't be human. it's okay though, i'll feel much better after a few hours of sleep.

:hug: It has to be so hard.

Thanks to everyone commenting on the clothes. I am pretty happy, though I'm not as chic as our V. V, am I missing something important that I need? (Aside from the umbrella?)

T, awesome car! I SO want to be rid of the minivan, but along with everyone else, it's paid off and I don't want a new payment right now. D's Saturn sedan is holding up well, thank goodness.

I cleaned well into the evening, and I did get my workout and grocery run in this morning. :thumbsup2 I just fed the kids and now I need to get out and try to clean the screen porch. It's ridiculously hot here right now - already 85 when the high was SUPPOSED to be 78, so I'm hoping the kids will be outside for playgroup - which means my screen porch should be ridded of its inch of pollen. :faint:

Then, just the basement cleaning for tomorrow's company, and I'll be good!

I should go get to the porch as I DO need a shower before playgroup. :rotfl:

"See" y'all later!

Hi all, after all the chattiness over the weekend I was hoping to be entertained during lunch. Where is everyone? I'm waiting for 5:00 to get here

Here's the outfit deemed most appropriate for my SATC night with the girls...

With the RED bag. ;)

I never mentioned your haircut looks really cute!

OH! I almost forgot... my final task before heading to bed?

BUY MNSSHP tix for Halloween night! :banana: It'll be our first time at the big par-T and we're pretty darned excited! Okay, I'm excited; Leo doesn't even know about it. But he'll be excited, too, I'm sure! AND, another DISer we know and love will be there, too! :ssst:

I am hoping to convince KC he wants to go again this year.... It was so much fun you will have a blast!!!!!

:rotfl2:
Is netflix worth the money?

We have ours down to 1 movie and it's less than 10 bucks a month. We download a lot so we went from 3 to 1 movie. I think it's a great service. Easy and cheap!

I BOUGHT A NEW CAR TODAY!!! :woohoo:

CONGRATS! It's really cute!

~~~~~~~~~~
it's hot here and I don't wanna leave the air conditioner! But I need to go to lane bryant and return my online order and pick up my packages at the stupid post office (they keep not delivering and just leaving the little notices) and if I feel like it I may go to pick up a few household things. I feel like plopping in front of the TV tho...LOL.
As HSM said Happy fake Monday!
Well now... this is ore like it... QUIET..
I did not have much to catch up on. And from the looks of the quietness you all must be back at work and working hard.
But I see lights on ...
Hi Katt. Yep, back to work, but it is dead here today..alot of people took today as a vacation day, like I should have;)
I know their is no pic at LeCellier and I don't remember there being one at Cape May, but the last time I was there Jimmy was 11 months old. I don't know about 1900 at all, will be interested in the answer though since we have ressies there our first night.
You did say you should have done Tuesday as well.
Well the day is close to over 2:13 :moped: Band rehersal will go 6:30 till 9:30. :faint: It's supposed to end at 9:00 but too much stuff to go over.
I am seriously thinking Pizza for supper. Just do not want to cook today.
Where do you work... that is it so slow... or is that "TOP SECRET"
Any chance of visiting on a Wed. or Fri. evening? We did this and it was a GREAT time - no crowds, no lines! We stayed from about 5:30pm - 9pm and got at least a cursary glance at most eveyr room, with extended viewing of some of my favorites. I had jsut starte dmy Art History studies, so being able to see paintings about which I'd written in person was amazing!
D sounds vaguely interested in Versailles.
Can you believe we skipped Versailles?! What can I say - it was late Nov., it was snowing and we'd already taken the train to Chartres for a day. It's on my Must-See list for the next trip. :thumbsup2
We'll have to see Notre Dame...
::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes:: Truly, the highlight of our trip.
Any good suggestions of "have to sees?" :goodvibes
If you have any interest in modern art, I can't reccomend the Pompidou Center enough. It ties with Notre Dame as my favorite sight. Also, Sainte Chapelle on Île de la Cité is fantastic - the most gorgeous stained glass. They hold organ and vocal concerts there, which would be a treat.
Another recommendation, Rick Steves' walking tours. You don't need his books, though they're great, just click here and look for the walks. We did the Historic Walk Parts 1 and 2, and the Marais Walk. Both were chock-full of both tourist sights and daily-life in Paris.
If you have the time and are in the St. Germain des Pres neighborhood, check this wine shop out. The owner is an American ex-pat and will expertly asssit with your selections and ship them. Great prices and WONDERFUL wines! :thumbsup2
Chic? Me?! :hug: I'm feeling terminally suburban at the mo, so thanks for making me feel less like a Mom-blob! That said, I've never felt less chic than when I was in Paris! :rotfl2: I think the oufits you posted are pefect - A trench coat or the like might be a good idea, and black pants are always in style. And a scarf, tied jauntily. Don't bring one - the fun is in buying one there. ;) If you can fit them, sneakers might be a good idea - especially if you'll be doing a lot of walking.
I'm so excited for you! Promise to say "Bonjour!" to Paris for me?
No ma'am - I don't even want to hear it about the "heat" up there!:rotfl:
Definitely NOT Le Cell.
V... I am going to say this ONE TIME....
YOU ARE SO CUTE IT'S DISGUSTING.
Don't want it to go to your Tiara crowned head.
Mel - you left the other place without saying goodbye to me.
:( :worried:
Sorry Phib! I'm here. You knew where to find me....::yes::
Kate: Well, those girls sound mean. I think you're right to skip it next year.
Katt: Go. Do the band thing. :thumbsup2
CE: Good job on your cleaning :thumbsup2
V: Yes, very to the point!
Janet: Hi :wave:
Kat: Hi :wave:
all others i missed....:wave:
Just got back from Prince Caspian. OMG, what can I say? :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc
He's a doll. The story is good. Action aplenty. See what they mean about it maybe being too violent for a PG. Not bloody or anything, but lots of fighting. I loved the movie though. The kids loved it too (even the 15 yr old and his friend)
DH not home for dinner. Katt I totally support your pizza for dinner idea. I'm making breakfast for dinner. Very popular here when DH is gone....
I'm bored. Not that I don't have plenty to do - and AM doing it - but it's boring me. Work doens't enjoy misspellings the way we do here. :rolleyes:
It is a GREAT MOVIE... does go away from the book.. especially with the Kiss... But .. if there had not been one.. I would have felt robbed.
With Mel's Vote and "MMMM" from V that settles it. Papa Johns it is.
They have a Whole wheat crust now. Easier on the blood sugars.
Hi all. One more hour and I can get the heck out of dodge. The worse part a bout being here right now is that they are knocking down the building across the street so everytime you walk outside between the humidity and the dust from the building, I feel like I have a perpetual coating of dust on me. First thing I am doing when I get home is taking a shower.
V, completely understand where you are coming from. I write grants for our department and those darn granting agencies are so particular about those misspellings, and margins..etc. It can get annoying if you aren't in the right frame of mind::yes::
Hi Ed.
Can you see the man report in the trip reports list? I can't, but I was able to post a reply to the thread under the "User CP" menu.
Katt- No pics @ Cape May just yummy food (i want me some clams now!)
1900 I THINK does the Cindy pic for the dinner , don't hold me to it tho.
Mel- I LOVED the movie too, and that boy sure is easy on the eyes huh??? Honestly its a movie I may actually pay to see again! I never do that!
Got back from shopping...right now I can't take out my new stuff because Bale is sleeping on my bag LOL. But once he gets his furry self off I'll show y'all what I got. I bought a bunch of other useless things and some of my ebay books came so YAY for that! And the new Anita Blake book shipped from Amazon today!
And boy am I glad I left the AC on when I left. ;)
