Good Morning all. Start of another work week here. Jimmy's class is being filmed today today for a commercial about the Y...My baby is goinna be a star:lmao: Even went and got his haircut yesterday....he had to look good:rolleyes1

Other than that there is not much planned for the week here. This is Jim's last week of coaching softball (Unless there are playoff games and stuff), Saturday we are having my in-laws over for Mother's Day dinner (Don't really want to spend mother's day with my mil..kwim? ), and on Sunday I think we may go to the zoo....it will be a good time to try out my new crocs:thumbsup2

V - Hope you gave Leo a big hug when you saw him.

Jo - Golf today:confused3

CE - YOU weren't in the mood:eek: :rotfl2:

Rachel - Don't worry about the quoting..it took me almost 6 months to figure it out:goodvibes

T - Finish that project.

CE - YOU weren't in the mood:eek: :rotfl2:

Hey, we all know that I'm usually game, but it was after 2:00 on a school night - after a week's vacation, so doubly hard to think about the alarm. :scared1: :rotfl2:

I'm sure Jimmy will be awesome. Is this his television debut? :goodvibes

:rotfl2: I can read it fine! I'm gonna test it with my girls---I bet Ab can read it fine, but that BA will be confused (she's a good reader, just only 11).

Hey all!

I started a post last night, but D got really frustrated with me being on the computer, so... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

We spent the day shopping at Ikea and came home with a unit that isn't perfect but that we liked well enough - and being Ikea, wouldn't break us if we do find the perfect thing in a few years.

But then we got home and D started freaking about how big it is, and the shelf that we bought to go over the TV to hold the center surround speaker was too big (that was just a big "DUH" moment on both our parts.)

So we spent all night going over all the possibilities AGAIN. Please understand that D's not an angry guy, he just gets really frustrated at himself when he makes mistakes like the shelf bit - and then it was "we wasted all day and now I have to go back, etc. etc." I understand his frustration, I do, but it wasn't like I can change anything...

It ended up being a long evening, and then because we were working on that, we didn't watch any more of our recorded shows. I think we've decided to keep this cable box one more day so that we can try to watch a few more tonight whilst we build the furniture.

Then, I finally went to bed around midnight. He didn't come up until 2:00 and then seemed to think I'd be interested in some "couple" time. :rotfl:

Anyway, here's what we got - and that I finally talked him into keeping as the best possible option for now:

We bought different legs - shorter, and less "spindly" looking - though I still think we may just want it to rest on the floor.

It's big, but it will easily hold the cable box, audio controls and DVD player, plus a bunch of DVDs. I assume that down the road we'll end up with some sort of video game system, and there should be room for that, too, though it might kick some DVD's out.

I still don't know what we're doing about the shelf that was meant to go over the TV - there's a shorter version, but it's less wide than the actual TV, and D thinks that might look funny. I don't know why we didn't think about the fact that the stand could go UNDER the windows, but a shelf really can't cover them up!... :rolleyes1

We'll figure something out, though, and this is still the best thing we can do. :thumbsup2

I have to have my thyroid level checked this morning, then pick up the boys. They have tennis later, and then I think D & I will spend the evening building furniture and watching TV! ;)

Hope everyone's having a nice Monday! :grouphug:
It looks good! We wanted a bigger wall unit as I need some more storage in this house--my last house had a wall of built in bookcases and entertainment center, so I've been missing that.

As for my furniture, DH noticed a slight tear in the back of the loveseat (about 1 cm---from a box cutter I guess--but it is cutting the leather). So I had to call the store back and they will send me another one on Wed. :sad2:
Had to be home that day anyway cause the TV is coming!

Went to the gym this am (yeah me!) and now gotta get going on the housework. I've been spring cleaning...motivated by new furniture! :thumbsup2

I read it!:thumbsup2 Of course, you may have noticed I often type like that. :rolleyes1
you can't help but worry, it's a mom thing!! btw, how old is leo? i always relate well to pannicky moms that come to the er, since i know exactly how they feel.
so, do you live around st. pete, clearwater area. love it down there. we were in sarasota 3 weeks ago for a wedding. one of my bff from high school and college. it was a parents only weekend for us, missed the kids, but boy did we have fun. don't remember some of it  :rolleyes1 , but that's okay!!!! yes, i definately have lots of questions. we're looking at brandon/riverview area, what do you think?
Leo's about to be 6 in a couple days - much too old for my taste. ;)

Yep, I'm in the Clearwater area and mostly love it. You've been down here so you know the gig.... S P R A W L. That's my only major beef; I prefer a more urban setting, but living wihtin 5 miles of the beach makes up for the bazillion plazas. I don't know a lot about Brandon, Riverside, but do know a couple folks who've moved there and like it a lot. Do consider commutes in your search... our traffic problems are noithing short of insane, particualrly between Oct. and April.

Please understand that D's not an angry guy, he just gets really frustrated at himself when he makes mistakes like the shelf bit - and then it was "we wasted all day and now I have to go back, etc. etc."
I can totally relate to your DH - that's exactly how I get with home projects. It just makes me crazy that a simple home improvement snowballs into umpteen trips to Home Depot. DOn't even get me started on my latest track light project. :headache:

BTW, I LOOOOVE Ikea!

V - Hope you gave Leo a big hug when you saw him.
Not yet - I can't take the suspense any more, though, so I'm going over to his school in a few minutes to check him out.

Bleeehhh.... I hate when that happens.

Sorry for the drive-by post guys. I'm reading, just not posting much, my life lately has been pretty uninteresting. Sleep, go to work, hang out, repeat cycle next day.

I'm back... he's fine! :thumbsup2 It's not all that bad looking, but I'd bet it bled a lot and looked pretty scary at the time. He told me how it happened - jumping backward into the pool. :sad2: I said, "We've talked abotu that, haven't we?" "Yes." "So now you know why you shouldn't do it, right?" "Yep!"

Off to bed..Night All!
I love these, Kat! I can't wait to get home to show Maddie! :thumbsup2

i don't like to see so many kids with autism, but it does make it easier now that so many people are familiar with it.
forensic nursing would be sooo cool. are you a nurse now?
Nope, not a nurse, YET! I'm just getting my feet wet in the medical field at this point, but I'm heading towards the nursing field in a few years. :)

:wave2:

Then, I finally went to bed around midnight. He didn't come up until 2:00 and then seemed to think I'd be interested in some "couple" time. :rotfl:
I'm in complete shock!

Love what you got from IKEA. I'm jonesing for a trip - they just built a HUGE one pretty close to us.

Cute! Reminds me of the Prince song, "Baby I'm a Star!" Now I'm singing that darn song! :lmao:

T - Finish that project.
FINISHED!!!

Glad he's ok! Facial/head/mouth cuts always seem to bleed a lot. I used to get really panicked about them, but after each child hurting themselves several times (they have their mama's grace!) it takes more to scare me now!

Oh, I had a BIG moment on Saturday! I went bra shopping for the first time in about 8 years! I marched into Lane Bryant and told the first girl I saw that I've either been pregnant or nursing for the past 7 and a half years and I need a good bra that fit and didn't look like a granny bra. Then I told her I was tired of singing the song, "Do your b***s hang low, do they wobble to and fro" every morning as I dress. Her face looked something like this :scared1: , but she recovered and was very helpful! I am now the proud owner of 2 non-nursing, non-granny bras! This deserves a  !!

Absolutely.....party: :jumping1: :jumping1: party: :dancer:

But can you "Throw them over your shoulder like a Continential soldier ???

Before my shopping trip, yes, they could've gone over my shoulder! But I'm happy to say these babies are now securly attached! Now I just have to keep myself from looking in the mirror every time I walk by and I have to refrain from asking people, "Well, how do they look?" :lmao: :rotfl2:

Congratulations a good bra does wonders for a woman.

We went out to dinner at Serendipity in NYC with fellow DISer Nicole786. We met up around 7ish and after dinner she had to go home and study for a final tomorrow so KC & I walked a loooong way to Rockefeller Center and then to Times Square! Of course i had the camera handy...
Thanks for sharing the pics. I have never been to NYC.

Wow this sounds like a lot of fun for him.

:grouphug:
I can understand your husbands frustration. I hate it when I buy something that won't work and need to go back. I like the stand though.

I'm back... he's fine! :thumbsup2 It's not all that bad looking, but I'd bet it bled a lot and looked pretty scary at the time. Glad to here it wasn't serious. Some kids just have to learn the hard way.

AWW V:hug: just catching up here, gald to here it's not too bad.

What does this mean?

2. The Chinese are taking away your tea?
Slate, she would need to have to tea in the first place to have it taken away!

Something like that.......
:rolleyes1

I just finished - almost - sort of. I'm sure I'll be tweakin' it all week.

PP is not fun. I think you should practice your presentation and record it and post it for us to critique, um I mean see how good you are.

halitosis know it all said:
Well, 3.5 hours later I had to send him home. I still haven't met his mother or father. People are strange. :confused3
That is bizarre, especially in this day.

:lmao: :lmao: I have bra issues myself. being "blessed" means only certain ones work for me. I have like 4 of the same bra and have issues venturing out... They are colored but pretty darn boring! They generally don't even carry my size in most stores so I can't even try many on!

V- :cool1: for your Leo hug! At least he is ok!
