Ellie has her big singing exam this evening which she's been rehersing (sp?) for for weeks, fingers crossed!

IS she taking Voice Lessons.. that kind of exam ???
Where they not only count missed words.. but on pitch, staying to the written notes, presentation, ??
Singing for a crowd of people and classmates or just those "judging"

THat gave me nightmares in college.

Thought it was about time I did a little trippie of what I did on Sunday!
When we'd finished and all the chocolate had set we bagged them up, here's a horrid photo of me!

We had lots of fun but it definitely is harder than you think it is, I'm glad we did it (it was a present from our Dad) but don't think I'd do it again. I will definitelty have a go at making caramel though as Rose made it look so easy!

I think it is a great pic and it looked like a lot of fun. I would have eaten myself into a coma.

Raining Do you say going for a piss when you're going to the toilet?

It is used in our house as slang for being mad. Nana gets the look when she uses it around her brother. It is considered a big people word.

She just passed her first voice for life medallion and this is called a Deanery Award, (official award from the Diocesan) she has to sing several hyms, sight read and answer music theory and Church facts questions!

I think it is a great pic and it looked like a lot of fun. I would have eaten myself into a coma.

Right now the gang seems to be proccupied with a "meet" they have planned in August. Some of us here are able to go in August and those that can.. have a small get together.

We Usually go in June... went in August last year but I did not know these great ladies then.( I'm giving out Points ladies... from my personal stash) Where is my welcoming commitee I saw Jo and V.. guess they get ALL MY POINTS...( and Karma.. )
Any way... Things should pick up around here in a little while.Yesterday for some reason we were REALLY Chatty.. maybe it was our New Thread.

I am such a huge dork when I saw Parliament and Big Ben I immediately thought "Harry Potter!!". I know I should stop reading so much and get out more...

Good luck to Ellie too! I've been singing since I was a kid, but never really did anything with it. Now it's def too late.


Just my 2 cents on the new DDP. I mainly do it so that food is paid for before we get there, it helps me budget. I still think its a good deal tho, but it isn't for everyone. The tipping was a lot less painful that I thought, too.

I get to get ignored for a few days because he got a new video game (grand Theft Auto 4) yesterday, that I waited in the rain for an hour at the store for him for. (did that sentence make sense??)SO I am going to be on the pc all day..which is both good and bad.

Sounds a lot like College "Jury's" YOu have a bunch of songs prepared.. they PICK what THEY want to hear.. then ask you to try and sight read something.. and it is ALWAYS in a foreign language... French, German, or Italian.

They ask you some questions.. and you get your grade. That sounds like a lot of pressure on a Kid. Is this extra curricular ?? Or something she has to do ??

Did I tell you that David knows (he teaches him golf) the Queens Waterman who is in charge of the Thames and he had to agree to all the Harry Potter stuff and was on set the whole time!!!!

It's extra curricular, she's in the Church choir and absolutely loves singing. She also learns very fast!
