Well--the doctor said he has pneumonia and went into a kind of septic shock but that is all improving now and he should not be contagious anymore. Apparently the sepsis caused his liver to start shutting down ( ) but that has turned around and his liver is fine now. Still confused how he got sick so fast with pneumonia--but the medicine he takes for RA suppresses his immune system (it's like chemo), so he is pretty susceptible to stuff.

Anyway---they are hoping the doctor will let him come home by Sunday, but they really don't know for sure.
(and of course, everytime I cough, I'm thinking "OMG--do I have pneumonia????")

Remember--I had it 2 years ago and felt like crap--but still managed to pull off my Disney trip in an ECV!
Good to hear TE... my sis got Pneumonia this past week... I hear it's running rampant... I am relieved that's not what mini had... she was pretty sickish this week... but just a common flu thankfully

So glad he is feeling better. I remember when my dad had pneumonia several years ago. Mom & Dad and come up from FLA for the holidays and dad wasn't feeling well before he left. The doctor gave him some cough medicine. My dad, in his infinite wisdom decided the cough medicine was interacting with his heart meds...so he stopped taking his heart meds. We are getting ready to take him to the hospital and he says...get this...before we go I am going to write done the names of all the meds I take so we can give it to the Doctor. By now I am:furious: and I say to him (I never curse in front of the parents:rolleyes: ) Put the f*&^%(g medicine in a bag and lets go.

Come to think of it that was the last time my father has have ever ridden in a car with me when I am driving...Could it be all the stop signs and red lights I ran:confused3

Yeah.. and being from Ky if you don't run like "Big Brown" at the "Derby" these ladies will leave you in the gate.

TE: So glad your Dad is feeling better! Good thing they figured it out and got him onto the antibiotics quick! for you!

Ok, a Disney Related Item:

So, today I went to our local "outlet" mall. It's not really an outlet mall if you ask me. All the stores are *regular* stores and not outlet pricing at all. But, anyway, I digress....:rotfl: The point is that I was just there about 2 weeks ago (roughly the time that Disney reaquired the Disney Stores??) I was walking along and WHAT IS THAT!!!????:worship: A Disney Store!!! We have NEVER had one in this mall. But, the weird thing is that it is RIGHT where the Children's Place was. Strange....? :confused3
I did not go inside, I was in a hurry. But, isn't that odd? They took them over and THEN turn that Children's Place INTO a Disney Store????

Oh, and the other cool thing I have to relate is that I am going out tomorrow night for a girls night out! Long Long time since I did that! I am going to a Karaoke night with some of the girls at school (the librarians...lol) that I work with on Mondays! I'll let you know, and maybe post a video or two....ha!

MEL:banana:

Oh bless :rotfl2:

That's great news TE, I didn't realise pneumonia was contagious??? Hope you don't get it, stay healthy
I always try to stay away from folks with it cause of my asthma, but he was in isolation cause they thought he had some other kind of weird bacteria at first (note to self---do NOT let our county hospital try to diagnose anything past strep throat. :teacher: )

I'm glad he is doing better!

Well, at least you have your priorities! :lmao:
:thumbsup2

feeling better??
It took me a good month to really feel 100% (even with the Disney trip! )

Parents are worse than kids.....
He refused to go to the hospital even after she found him collapsed. She put me on the phone and he couldn't breathe enough to have a conversation.
The doctor said he would have died if we hadn't insist he go to the ER--and was surprised he made it that long by himself.

Wow, that is scary.

LIke my fil who was going to drive himself to the hospital when he was having a heart attack:sad2:

You're gonna love this.... I'm allergic to my own tears and my own sweat! Yep, it's the iodine I'm actually allergic to. So if I don't wipe the tears/sweat off quickly, I start breaking out in hives. :sad2: Taking Zyrtec daily helps a LOT, but summer sucks.
 You're serious, aren't you.
Hi all---
just talked to mom and he had a good night and got a shower this morning so that was good news. The specialist has talked to him and remarked that he looked well, but is now reviewing the chart. They have to figure out how contagious he is (in isolation now) and I guess they'll tell us how much risk we have since we were exposed.
The tests should be back tomorrow nite to know for sure what he has, but the antibiotics are working so that's good.
Glad to hear he's doing better, TE. :goodvibes
We've just had our new window quote and it's about $4,000 LESS than we thought it would be wooohoooo :yay:
Yay! We need new windows on the east side of our house. Maybe next year. :rolleyes1

can't wait until Focker fest:rolleyes:
Hater! :lmao:

Witchy poo better not push my buttons or I will nail her to the proverbial cross. (can you tell I don't like the woman)
Just a little. :rolleyes1

Wow 5 pages since I posted yesterday...this thing moves fast

So my exciting weekend came to a screeching halt this morning. All of a sudden Maddie starts with a high fever, body aches and vomiting. WTH? She was perfectly fine last night so I'm not sure what's going on. I spoke with Dbro and he says to just watch her, try to get her to keep Tylenol and Motrin down and keep Evan away from her.

WE ALL DO CRAZY THINGS....
Me for instance... My water broke with #2. Never experienced that before as #1 was an early c section.
I honestly thought I had Pee'd the bed.
I took a shower.. got back into bed.. it happened again.. O.K. I called the hospital they told me to come in.

I put on my clothes and got just a ways down the road when the cell phone rang.. Scott wanted to know where I was going. I explained that I did not want to wake him.. That my water broke and I was on my way to the hospital.. go back to bed.

Long story shorter. I turned around and a friend came to watch #1 and Scott took me to the hospital.

:lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My MIL ablmost had my BIL on the steps of the hospital. They got the hospital and she sat on the steps of the hospital becasue she couldn't walk anymore. Someone came out and asked her when the baby was due and she said NOW:rotfl2:

I just did not see any reason to wake Scott and Joshua.

I left a note on the Pillow saying where I went. NOW.. if there had been ANY PAIN... I WOULD HAVE KNOWN what was happening.

Here's what it said....

" Scott.. I called the hospital and My water has broke. I have left for the hospital. When you wake up meet me there.

:rotfl2: ....but I still think my water breaking in the shower was the most convenient!;)

BTW--just talked to mom and the doc said to plan on being there through Monday (which since she doesn't know what day it is now, could be anytime! )

I am keeping Bill, their schnauzer. He reminds me of my little Hans that passed away 2 years ago. :sad2:
Max loves him---they are like 2 five year old boys wrestling! (not that I've HAD five year old boys tho!)

Mo - Where are you? How close are you to Jackson, NJ? I am heading up to the outlet mall on Sunday.

Oh no!!! Poor baby - I hope she wakes up feeling better tomorrow. Send her a hug form me (and one for yourself, too ;) )

TE- So glad your daddy will be okay. I can imagine it has been a bit of a roller coaster over the past few days.

V- I am allergic to over 400 things. You got me beat with being allergic to your own tears. Poor thing.

T- Hope Maddie is getting over the fever hump. No fun watching our babies suffer.

I know that I have been totally MIA. I have poked in here and there, read a bit and fell fast asleep with the lap top next to me. I have to get my butt in gear... my dining window will open in a bit over a week... I have a lot of planning to do! YIKES!
