Doug and his Nephew were supposed to actually start laying pavers today. I'll see how far they got when I get get home from work in the morning. I should have a completed patio soon. :woohoo:

What did you find? popcorn::

JenM - Good to see you, sweetie! (lost your quote somehow...)

Want some encouragement and morale-boosting? I'm utterly blown away by what the Active has done for my body. I haven't lost more than a couple pounds, but my shape has completely changed for the better - and without adding bulk! That's a first for me. I think the resistance bands and unending squats and lunges are the answer to my prayers. :cheer2:

Very good! :thumbsup2 I care more about how my clothes fit than an actual weight - I've had to break down and buy a couple of "size up" shorts this year, which I didn't want to do. :sad2: I'm bulkiest through the waist, though, so is it helping there at all?

Today it hurts to sit down. :rotfl: But I did do day 2 anyway, and am proud of myself. :goodvibes

It's a much, much better day today. Thanks again for letting me vent here - it helped a lot.

Any time.

And when it runs out, I'll happily let my state put him through the ringer. ;)

There you go!

Anyway, I'm feeling good about things today and really need to make a dent in my trip planning. Can you believe I have NO LISTS? Not even mental ones. Yikes!

T's going to :faint:! :rotfl:

*****************************************************
Quiet night around here last night - we grilled some chicken and decided that the boys could have a movie. Due to all the Lego Wii, I think, they picked the first Indy movie. D & I both fell asleep on the couch soon after we put the kids to bed. :rotfl:

I have done my day 2 workout and managed, even though when I go to sit down, my rear end hurts. :rotfl2:

I need a shower. The boys are doing an extra tennis lesson this week. I think we are the only ones signed up for the "Junior Development Group Lessons" on Tuesdays so far this summer, and the pro had a private lesson thing going on this week. It may have been "tennis camp" but there were only 2 girls there, and he said the 4 of them had fun on Tuesday, could I bring the boys another day so that the girls had company?

So, I said sure, and then my friend with the girl twins and with whom I do all my tennis is also bringing her girls today. :thumbsup2 I need to run a couple of errands, too, and need a shower before any of that happens.

I wanted to do my workout earlier this morning, but the kids were doing the Wii - I think we're going to start fighting over it soon! :rotfl:

Hope everyone's having a great day! :grouphug:

Good Morning, Fockers!

Geeze, I thought once summer started, I'd be able to check in here often. Apparently that's not the case, so I'll be using Kristel's cliff's notes. ;)

JANET lost at the horse track. She had fun drinking and eating though. She says work should be back to normal by the end of the week. She may not get a raise due to cut-backs.

Blech, Janet! That's so uncool! I hope it all works out for you.
KAT has been in the dungeon at WoD. She had to go in at 8AM on the 7th. She gets 3 days off after tomorrow. KC worked 10 in a row. She said we need to go to her PTR. She has a dilemma.
PTR? Did I not know this? I'll have to zoom over there!

V found the perfect laundry bag. She’s been having it rough without her little prince around.
I saw your bag! So cute, but I'll stick to the stroller until I have to. :lmao:
CE was waiting on people to show up for a play group. They finally did. She is getting too much of a workout from the Wii and tennis.
The Wii Active is brutal, I tell ya! :headache:

MO is having shots in the other foot. She will probably need surgery this fall.

ROSIE had her lump surgery. She should have results next week.
Sending you good mojo, Rosie!

MrsKS loves the Dollar Tree.
Dude, who doesn't love Dollar Tree? :thumbsup2 The first time I took my mother there, she walked around asking how much everything was. :lmao:
JO – Give what you can afford. They should be happy with anything with the economy the way it is. I normally give $30 a quarter to my favorite charity.
Good advice, Jo.

DAWN’s kids are swimming like there is nothing to it. All of them are exhausted now.
That's fantastic, Dawn!

Yay, on the eyes, Kristel! I went yesterday and the doc gave me the thumbs up. No change, is GOOD!
Can't wait to see the pavers, I love pavers. Have a great day!

Hey there chica! So 'splain why you lost your siggie? I'm sure it's a juicy thread. popcorn::
And when it runs out, I'll happily let my state put him through the ringer. ;)
::yes:: Leo is so lucky to have a momma like you V. Really.

Anyway, I'm feeling good about things today and really need to make a dent in my trip planning. Can you believe I have NO LISTS? Not even mental ones. Yikes!
Don't even get me started on that, V. :sad2: Me neither!

************************************************

Well, the hot contractor came yesterday and we're all set. The cabinet guy is coming next week to take the measurements and then they gut the Monday we return from WDW! I'm mentally freaking out over what has to be done. I need to clear everything outta here and create a makeshift kitchen somewhere??? :faint:

Oh and I really need to get working on our trip. Nothing, I mean NOTHING is done. Suitcases are empty, trip folder is collecting dust. My lists are growing, but I just can't seem to get it together. :confused3

I think I'll go have some coffee before I have a freakin' anxiety attack.

As one who's relatively recently done this... (Can't believe it's 2 years next month!)

1. The grill is your friend. Ours happens to have a side burner, so I could even do pastas or whatever on it.

2. If you can keep a microwave somewhere else, that can help. We'd moved our old stove into the rather unused formal living room until we could sell it, and set the microwave on top of that and used it in there, even though the microwave was a hang on the wall type. :thumbsup2

3. I don't know your space constraints, but we also kept one of the old base cabinets with a slab of old countertop to use during the duration. I'm having a memory of having it in a corner of our kitchen where there are no cabinets (either going out or coming in.) It was good for your basic sandwich making, etc.

4. The worst part is not having the kitchen sink. Doing dishes in the bathtub was a pain because of not having good places to put the rinsed ones, but it's doable. The bigger hassle was realizing, once I'd cooked spaghetti on the grill burner, that I'd have to drain the water into the bathroom sink or whatnot.

5. I used it as a huge incentive to get rid of a ton of stuff I didn't need - there's a silver lining, if you will. ;) Plus, well, a new kitchen is REALLY nice. :goodvibes

Good luck! It will be worth it!

Oh her new neighbors will LOVE her
:rotfl2: Can you imagine?!

V, What I don't understand is that at first my X was granted custody and I had to pay him c.s. They issued my employer a court order to take it out of my paycheck to ensure that it was paid. When I got custody reversed they didn't do the same to him and it was even the same judge. So far he has paid every month and only two or three times was he even late. But I don't understand why they didn't have it taken straight out of his paycheck like they did mine.
That's so bizarre! Mine managed to avoid the mandatory take it out of his paycheck by becoming "self employed." From what I've been told and can tell, "self employed" means "work when I feel like it and pay support when I feel like it." It's entirely possible that he's sincere this time (claiming that a client owes him money), but why am I the only one with a savings account for these situations, right?!

I'm bulkiest through the waist, though, so is it helping there at all?
::yes:: I carry all my weight from my belly button to mid-thigh... and I'm down two full sizes in shorts. :thumbsup2
Today it hurts to sit down. :rotfl: But I did do day 2 anyway, and am proud of myself.
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Listen though - be sure to take some rest days. It makes all the difference! I've been doing Active day, treadmill + yoga day, Active day, ballet day, rest. Rinse and repeat. I skipped some rest days at first and paid the price with muscle exhaustion. :faint:

I saw your bag! So cute, but I'll stick to the stroller until I have to. :lmao:
Had I not found that bag on wheels, I'd have brought the stroller for just that purpose! :rotfl2:
::yes:: Leo is so lucky to have a momma like you V. Really.
Thanks T. :hug::hug::hug:

Baby steps. I just made list of grocery items to buy and bring! :thumbsup2

Hey everyone!:flower3:

Hope all is well...and Rosie :goodvibes Good vibes for you!

Seriously V, TWO sizes?? How long have you been using it? I was thinking about getting it, then decided against it, but now you've got me tempted again. It will destroy me, I'm sure, but I'm ready for more than super hoola-hoop on the fit. :lmao:

As one who's relatively recently done this... (Can't believe it's 2 years next month!)
Good luck! It will be worth it!

I think I've got most of that covered. We have large bar/storage counter in the den, so that's going to be my "kitchen" area. Oh and I'm so glad our grill has a burner, too! Funny, but when we were buying it, I told Andy "Why the heck do we need one with a burner?" :lmao:

One question, though. Where the heck do I put the fridge?? :confused3

::yes:: For real! I had already stocked up on shorts in a 4 and they got tight, but I refused to buy any more shorts; I should have been in a 6. After the first couple weeks, I was comfortably back in my 4s. Week or so later, I needed a belt and the 2s fit better, though a little tight. As of now the 4s look way too baggy and the 2s are perfect! I really never thought I'd see that size again.

Caveat: it wasn't just the Active - I've also totally rehashed my diet. But no other exercise, short of my years in the ballet, toned me like this. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I was a 2 back when we first met at Fockerfest, The Pool #1! At 5' tall it's not very impressive. And try as I might, I've yet to find a program on the Active that promises "Giselle legs" lol!

A 2??? You wear a freakin' 2???? :faint:

I'm planning now for pool time next year...it'll take me that long.

I have a meeting but will try to update later. Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi Debra!

Hope everyone's having a great day! :grouphug:

Hi CE

Geeze, I thought once summer started, I'd be able to check in here often. Apparently that's not the case, so I'll be using Kristel's cliff's notes.

It seems that summer is just as, if not more busy than the school year:confused3 We were just counting weekends, etc and we can't fit in everything we wanted to do this year:confused:

Blech, Janet! That's so uncool! I hope it all works out for you.

Thanks T!

Dude, who doesn't love Dollar Tree? :thumbsup2 The first time I took my mother there, she walked around asking how much everything was. :lmao:

OMG, my father too:rotfl2:

The earth is going to go off it's axis soon :faint:

:rotfl2: Can you imagine?!

::yes:::laughing:

Baby steps. I just made list of grocery items to buy and bring! :thumbsup2

See you're getting there!

One question, though. Where the heck do I put the fridge?? :confused3

Dining room?

the 2s are perfect! I really never thought I'd see that size again.

WTG V!:woohoo:

That's it! :headache: No pool time with V.
:lmao:

I;m with you T:sad2:

So you've done the 30 day challenge...then what? Do you do it again but harder?
You could do that, I think. The 30 day program can be done at Easy, Medium or Hard settings. From what I've seen "Hard" means more reps per set; I hate that. I'd rather work out longer, do fewer reps per set and have more variety in my sets. And here's why I love it: there are 20 or so other programs to choose from, beyond the 30-day routines. Anything from 18 minutes to an hour, some focusing on lower or upper body, others on aerobics and/or team sports. That's what I'm doing now. I did something called "Marathon - easy" on Fri. that nearly sent me to the hospital. :rotfl: Sun. was a lower body + aerobic program for 40ish minutes. Tues. I was beat and couldn't breathe well, so I picked a 30 minute low impact one. You can also make your own workouts by adding various sets together and saving them. It's really like Wii Fit in steroids!

::yes:: I carry all my weight from my belly button to mid-thigh... and I'm down two full sizes in shorts. :thumbsup2

Excellent. :thumbsup2

Listen though - be sure to take some rest days. It makes all the difference! I've been doing Active day, treadmill + yoga day, Active day, ballet day, rest. Rinse and repeat. I skipped some rest days at first and paid the price with muscle exhaustion. :faint:

No problem, I think. For example, I think we're heading to the boat tomorrow, so I probably won't do a workout before we go - just no time to do it.

Seriously V, TWO sizes?? How long have you been using it? I was thinking about getting it, then decided against it, but now you've got me tempted again. It will destroy me, I'm sure, but I'm ready for more than super hoola-hoop on the fit. :lmao:

That's where I was - the hula hoop felt like the only thing giving me any kind of a "real" challenge. The step stuff was way too easy, and as much fun as it is to be a penguin, I'm not sure how helpful it is to my fitness. :rotfl:

FWIW, you also do not have to use the balance board in Active. Woody decided he wanted to try it, and didn't see where to set it up with the board. The boxing looked less fun, but the inline skating MORE fun, without the balance board.

:confused3

We wheeled ours into a corner of the family room which adjoins the kitchen. We had to move a chair, but it was handy, I guess. :rotfl: And OH so attractive.

Dang, here I was hoping that I'd not have to diet, too. ;) But I'm trying to be a little more careful on the snacking, which should help.

Congrats on the shorts, though - that's great. I've not been a 2 since I was maybe 11, and I was skinny back then. :rotfl: I was a horribly picky eater growing up, so I was something like 118 graduating high school, at 5' 10". Then I learned to like food. :sad2: :lmao: Not that I'd want to be that scrawny, now, but still... Sigh. :rotfl2:

Hi Fockers, just dropping into say HI!

Yes, 2 days in row!

I went to Target at lunch today and the funniest thing happened (T you'll love this story)

There were 2 boys running around screaming and yelling, I'd say 7 and 10. No one knew where the Mom was, one lady made it clear they were not hers:lmao: Everyone else were rolling their eyes.

I'm minding my business and one nearly runs into me and nearly steps on my foot. I leaned over and told him to stop running in the GD store.

I walked away and still hear them screaming. Well a few minutes later the Mom finds me and asks if I said anything to her son...

Me: would that be the one that was running wild and unsupervised? Yes.

the Muther: I lost track of them for only a minute (Screaming at this point)

me: Um, no it was much more than a minute (in a very calm voice, which I think made her madder)

At this point a couple of other shoppers showed up

the Muther: you should be ashamed talking to a kid like that

Other lady: you should be ashamed of your parenting

remaning other shoppers started clapping:lmao:

Too funny!

OK, back to work now

later Fockers!

Jo- I know it is hard to fundraise for something that doesn't directly effect you. The only thing I can add is that you are "paying it forward".
True but I think I've given enough to pay forward for ever :rotfl2:

Afternoon all !! Everything went well!! The surgeon as late but not to bad!!
Fantastic Rosie :thumbsup2

Hey Jo is MY BESTEST!!!!:lmao:
I sure am  :rotfl:

excuse me...pardon me...just dancing through...
:wave2:

Hi everyone! :goodvibes It's your long lost Focker just stopping by with a little gift...
Hi Michelle and I agree with V we need to see you more often

Another day, another dollar from Walt. Speaking of Walt's dollars, I bought me a few things yesterday. I got a Tink mug, a WoD NYC shot glass and a CM Vynlmation (however u spell it) and now KC wants to collect them. LOL.
So you're giving your pay cheque straight back to Disney? :rotfl2:

Oh, I forgot to say. I got to the class, and there were just four of us - and two are friends of mine, but a bit older, slower ladies, and so the pro didn't do the "kill us" drill that I was so worried about. I still got a good workout, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I feared.
:thumbsup2

C and A both jumped right in the deep end and swam across. I was shocked. They didn't use floaties the whole 4 hours we were swimming today!
Wooohoooo

I won't need bi-focals for another year. That made me and my bank account happy.
Yay!!!!

:tiptoe:

Hey everyone!
Hi Kate, wow everyone is popping in today :goodvibes

A 2??? You wear a freakin' 2???? :faint:
I don't think I've ever been a size 2 (size 6 here) :faint:

Other lady: you should be ashamed of your parenting
OMG fantastic :rotfl:

Had a bit of a mishap with David's birthday cake, not sure whats happened but the butter cream somehow ended up too runny and has literally slipped out of the cake :rotfl2:

:lmao: You're right Mo! I love it! If those were my kids, I'd have hightailed it out of the store. Of couse, if those were my kids, they'd have received the "evil eye" and the "cut it out before I kill you" look. :teeth:

Good for you Mo!!!!

I came home from work early just not feeling well !! Some pain in incision area kept me up last night and I may just be over tired !! No fever but just feel "blah"
Gonna relax and Dis !!
