I read that he was DOA. The paramedics couldn't revive him when they got to his house. There are rumors of pills, though. We'll see inthe days to come, I guess. :guilty:

Just like Elvis? Is this as big or bigger to our generation as it was for our parents when Elvis died?

I remember my mother crying her eyes out when Elvis died.

Come to think of it, that's such a weird memory because I don't remember my mother crying much-well, Elvis qualified, evidently!

Ok, I seriously have to go pack or it's going to be another one of the Joie forgot to pack underwear vacations. Going commando is not my idea of fun.

Oh, hey, on the LGMH thread (Dis'er Spotting!) they're talking about standoffish fokkers. I threw down for y'all.

Sorry, I read through, but didn't quote.

We ended up, on the first and last nice day for a week, being in the car most of the afternoon. Swell.

I was going to run them to the nearby toystore, where they wanted new Webkinz with Mom's gift money. The local store, which we have loved forever, appears to be either in new hands or just have lost all their smarts - they had NO Webkinz and aren't taking their own "Kash" anymore, either.

So, we wound up driving to the mall are for a Toys R Us, which was, well, painful to me - but they did spend their own money, so that's fine.

Then we stopped at Target, because we have decided (it's even their idea) that since they only get buzz cuts, anyway, I should cut the boys' hair. So, I have clippers. ;) :rotfl: We'll see.

I have not attempted it yet. :rotfl2:

D had a mechanical test flight today and then met about an upcoming trip to Poland. I just heard him pull in.

I am hot - wishing for the AC for once, finally - and grouchy. I cleaned up all that school stuff, but feel like I still can hardly see the flat surfaces in the house. Gah!

OK. I have to do some more clutter clearing. I'm sure I'll be back (you know how I clean, plus D has decided that he has to mow the lawn before it rains for the next week again.)

Crazy day, poor FF and MJ and happy birthday to my sister. My BIL is taking her to dinner and I hope giving her her present. Their 10th anniversary is in October so he upgraded the diamond in her wedding ring, without telling her. I'm sure it will be huge because after he already had it arranged, he wanted to know if she'd be mad at the money he spent without telling her. :rolleyes1 I really had no idea but went with the fact that she's getting a bigger diamond and told him no. ;)

Seems like a reasonable guess. ;)

So, do you have Reid? :goodvibes

Hi Angela :wave2:

=====================

Slate - nope, never bought Thriller or any othe Michael Jackson album...yuck! Not my kind of music. In the 80's I listened to The Who, Zepplin, Jethro Tull, Bon Jovi. I know, something else that I am odd man out on;)

I posted this on FB but let me just say the media amazes me. Did yo know that UCLA in in LA? That is actually what one of the reporters said "For those that don't know UCLA is in Los Angeles":lmao:

Nope. Me too, Janet.

I'm more a Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, early Metallica sort of gal. Van Halen and the "hair bands" were more my style.

NO Michael Jackson.

Mel

Me, three, though I did own Thriller on vinyl. Probably still do, come to think of it, but it's in IL. ;)

Oh good:goodvibes

Mel - I liked the hair bands too - Bon Jovi:lovestruc

KCBS reporting that homicide is in his house. Dr. refused to sign the death certificate until they searched the house...I'm thinking OD now.

Evening All !!!!:) am finally home !! Had a great evening !!!:cool1:Wendy's for supper, then after dropping of the consumers at their meeting, we went or coffee !!:cool1:such HARD work!!!:rotfl2:

I heard about Michael Jackson on the way up to Buffalo!!! I was not a fan but it is still sad:sad2: I am an early Beatles fan from when they were normal and not weird like after India and that Maharishie!!! I didn't even like;) the Rolling Stones or Elvis !!!

I watched Twilight the movie last night. (Don't read ahead if you haven't read the book/seen the movie)
I thought it was good. I was disappointed that they didn't cast a better actress though. I don't think they were able to portray the real Love drawn between Bella an Edward, with her. I realize these are "teen" books, but they are beautifully written love stories that are appealing to a wide audience.

I get the next two books tomorrow and I am a titch concerned that I am going to be disappointed.

The movies are NEVER as good as the books. The books will NOT disappoint. The 4th book is a bit weird but still good and the story ends well so thats a plus.

Looks like loads of fun, I love your top and those desserts look delicious. Good luck at work today, what will you actually be doing once you start?

Today I found out I will not be a "runner" but a "processor". I will be "back stage" and deal with tagging and organizing the stuff when it comes in.

Who else is searching for a record player so they can play their Thriller album?

it was the first album I ever bought!

***********************************
Loooooooong day.

We went to the city (i dragged KC after coaxing him with Dunkin breakfast first) and went to work (giggles). I got 1 pair of pants that fit me but are too long (no shocker) and another pair that are a sizer bigger than that, that I was told to do whatever with to make 'em fit. I also got another shirt, which is a reg polo and its WAY better than the other shirt!!! It lasted all of 10 minutes.

Then Pants met us by FAO Swartz and we ended up taking the train back to Brooklyn and going to the movies by our house to see Transformers 2. Good movie. it amazes me how you can get emotionally invested in robots! Then we went to a pub near here called The Kettle Black for dinner.

We didn't get home until after 8pm after leaving the house around 11am this morning. I will be sleeping good tonight!

Anyways KC wants to use the pc and I need to see what happened on SYTYCD!

Night all!

Way too much to quote so I am going to do it this way:

Mel: I hope your eye appointment went well

Debra: You would think they would have your correct name by now.

Kickapoo: Hope you have a great weekend!

C.E.: Hope you had a good day today.

Janet: Good luck with the work stuff.

V: I wish you hadn’t said that about the online ADR’s, now I know that is what I will be doing too.

Jen: Sounds like you had a really busy day planned, I hope the photo shoot was fun.

Sorul82: That sounds awful, I hope everything works out for you.

Rosie: I hope you had fun today!

Jo: Hi! I hope Ellie gets a good class.

Tracy: Those fireworks sound amazing, I will have to look on youtube, Baby Mine makes me cry. Good for you about getting your ghetto on, that woman needs to stop.

Angela: Make sure to tell us what your sister thought aobut the ring.

Kat: Sounds like you had a productive day.

I am in full planning, making things mode for this trip in November. Ok, what do you call your son’s live in girlfriend’s kids?? Are they still our grandkids? I am a 39 year old granny!! Christian has ADHD and we are debating back on forth on whether to surprise them with the trip or not. It is fairly complicated.

Bill’s new wheelchair will be ordered by the end of the week, but we were told the pricing didn’t include the locking system under the chair so he can be locked into the van. The one on the current wheelchair is not compatible with the new chair, imagine that! So We are looking at between $500 - $600 for that. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.!!

Hi Jo! I was talking about you today. I volunteered to fill water balloons today and another mom is from London. I told her that I know royalty; I know DisneyJo from Kent, England. :snooty:
So was she impressed? :rotfl2:

Oh sh!t!!! Michael Jackson died!
I know :sad2: Woke up this morning to see it all over the news!

I made it through my Dr. Seigle visit with new drops and an appt. to see him again at the end of Aug. In the realm of Dr. Seigle visits, this is good. :thumbsup2
Sounds good!

Oh, hey, on the LGMH thread (Dis'er Spotting!) they're talking about standoffish fokkers. I threw down for y'all.
What thread is that???

Then we stopped at Target, because we have decided (it's even their idea) that since they only get buzz cuts, anyway, I should cut the boys' hair. So, I have clippers. ;) :rotfl: We'll see.
I've been cutting David's for years, just take your time :thumbsup2

I grew up on the Beatles thanks to my addicted Dad :thumbsup2

Cool
