Good Afternoon Everyone!

I'm glad to hear Janet should be back today!!
Mo your plans look good to me.
Jo, the next time I have any problems with electronics, I'll call you first!

Hey to everybody else.

Here are some pictures of the patio. Of course things aren't finished and it still looks a bit unsightly with the dirt and weeds in a few spots. I will plant grass if it looks like my job is in the ditch. Eventually this will be a little oasis for Doug and I.

Long shot from the yard.
Home001.jpg

The empty square is where our water feature will start with a rock formation and a fountain. It will lead to a small pond towards the right of the picture. The pipe that is sticking up has the electrics for the hot tub. That is a cement slab for it to sit on.
Home002.jpg

The step that Doug built. That's the doggie door. There is a small whole there that we need to patch. Evidently the dryer vent was there at one time.
Home003.jpg

The patio door with some steps.
Home004.jpg

Where you see the blue pool will be a 12X12 octagon deck. We will build that ourselves.
Home005.jpg

This is the rest of the yard from the patio. The dirt is where the pond and some flower beds will be.
Home006.jpg

The weather vein we bought at Shipshewana.

Actually the whole back yard will be an ongoing project. The 2 trees are red buds. Once they are big enough, I will make some flower beds around them. I love flowers that attract the butterflies and hummingbirds. Speaking of which, I've got some pics of a female hummingbird.

Not easy to get with my camera. They are so cute. They really go crazy at the feeders at this time of year. I have 2 females and 2 males. They are constantly battling over the feeder. I have another feeder in front of the house. I don't think they've noticed it. I may have to put it around back.

Anyways, that's my patio. I'll take more pictures as we progress.

Gotta get upstairs. We're having pizza and pasta. It should be ready!

Later people!

Kriste - You guys are doing such a great job, I bet your yard is going to look really great when you get everything done.

Rosie - Good Luck to Judy! Glad the girls had a good birthday.

Kat - I'm glad KC is willing to go to therapy.

Z - Sorry about work and the supervisor. Have fun planning your trips though!

TE - Glad to hear Papa Joe is doing better.

Deb - :rotfl: with the clothes. I should say I like shopping online for my kids, but yeah for myself...I gotta go to the store to try things on.

WTG to the kids with their games and dances. :cheer2:

I too like living in a small town. I've lived in bigger cities but really nothing beats small town living. We have Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Cleveland all close to us so we don't lack in things yet don't have to deal with all the traffic and everything else that comes with bigger cities. Plus, all my family lives around here, so it makes it nice.

T - Hoped you enjoyed the ballgame with the girls. My kids went with my brother and uncle to a Pirates game today.

Mo - Plans are looking good for November.

Jo - Glad you were able to fix your laptop. :cheer2:

Sam - None of those things sound fun. At least your trip is in a few days!

Kristal - The patio looks great. Love the weather vein.

Good news that Janet was able to come home today! Hope she's doing better.

Good Morning !! Where is everyone ???

Well SIL is gone again soo I am HAPPY!!! Judy is Ok too I'm hoping she has finally realised he is just no Good ! What a Best Seller I would have if I wrote a Book!!!!!!!

Kritel the back yard is gonna be wonderful !!! But so much work for you guys to get it that way !!

Today's the first day of school. I'm really happy to get the school year started. I love teaching the kids, so I look forward to that. I'm also looking forward to our new schedule. It can't be any busier than this summer was!

But, the big thing is that my baby, B is going to school today... :guilty: I'm excited for her, but I'm going to miss having her around all day. We've become such great friends as well as mother/daughter. :sad1:

I'm proud of the beautiful young lady she's become and I know she'll do great. :cutie:

Okay, I have to stop talking about it or I'll cry again and make B feel bad. We were all in tears last night. :sad2:

Have a great Monday, Fockers!!! :teacher:

Dawn--how is the morning going? Was she excited??

I'm headed back to the hospital to check on my dad. He's still in ICU but stable. He may go to another room today if his blood pressure and heart rate cooperate. Then he'll be back home........then he'll be back in a few weeks. :sad2: Mom is stressing out--he's just so sick. It's hard for her to work full time and take care of him, but it would be REAL hard to give up her insurance, KWIM??

+++++++++++
On a good note, we went hiking up on Mt Rogers yesterday (highest point in VA at about 5500 feet.....which is around 10000 meters for Jo! We picked wild blueberries and petted the wild ponies---they come right up to you for blueberries! The babies will be corralled next month and auctioned.

Chatting with Katt now on FB so I better quit or I'll forget who I'm talking too!;)

No, my grandpa is 84 and extremely healthy---his mom lived till 109!
Papa Joe is my step dad (since age 7) and I always called him "Joe" but all my kids started calling him Papa Joe and I liked that better!
He got to go to a regular room today and be disconnected from a lot of tubes and such so that is good. The dr said he would be there the rest of the week. They are having a physical therapist come and evaluate him today to see if he can begin to rebuild strength. He's almost too weak to stand at times. He's grumbling about the therapist as he doesn't like "exercise".....and he's grumbling about the food.......so we think he's feeling better!

Lindsey starts on Wednesday and I can't wait to get back onto school schedule.

YAY for Jess and :rotfl: about Ellie. What a nice surprise for the book. Do you have a link for it?

****************************************************

I started working on quoting about an hour ago but the case worker for child support called, then my kids wanted lunch and then their father called. Just now getting back to all of this.

Today was my last math class. :yay: We are having class on Wednesday but I won't be able to make it since it is Lindsey's first day of school plus DR's daycare is closed. I don't have to go back until next Monday for a final test. :woohoo:

That's about it for my little world. Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Good to hear TE. I definately think that when they start complaining that is a sign they are feeling better.

I, too, was thinking he was your grandfather and not your dad. 109!!! That is amazing!

TE- She did great. I didn't let myself cry because I didn't want to upset the other two kiddos. Also- I wanted to start their school day on a good note. It was hard, though. :guilty:

I'm glad your Papa joe is feeling better.

Jo- I'm with Ellie... :lmao:

Don't worry about missing her. I'm more fun anyway... :yay::woohoo::yay:

She'd be around more if she hadn't of taken to drinking during the day. She's done passed out by noon usually. She has to have time sober up before the mister comes home, you know. :rolleyes1

My spidey-sense was tingling. Dawn's talkin' bad about me again! LOL

I did drink during the day while the In-laws were here. They drove me crazy. It's funny how my MIL and I could get along so great for 3 weeks while Bob was in Japan, and she comes for a week with the FIL and I was a stress monster! UGH!

It's over now. I'm sorry I have been such an infrequent visitor around these parts. The summer is usually crazy for us, but this one was worse than usual. Both kids have been so busy. I am READY for a trip with just my DH. :lovestruc

Meeting Jo again, see Z and Yani (i hope!) and seeing Dawn and her hubby is going to be so great.

Just in case anyone cares what's up around here....SD made the JV Tennis team! A HUGE thing for him, with the years of anxiety attacks and being so shy. He's doing so well. He had an appt with his Pyschologist today and he said they can start to taper off the Zoloft in two months! I'm glad!

Hope you are all well.

TE: Hugs to you and Papa Joe.

MEL

Hey Peeps!

Just checkin' in to say "Hi!" Been crazy 'round these parts between back to school and the renovation from hell, I haven't really had time to catch up, lately. Thanks to Kristel and her awesome updates! :worship:

Love your yard, BTW. What a great space! It's going to look fantastic!

More drama and more problems with the kitchen... do these things ever go smoothly? :confused3

I can't believe my little dude is starting Kinder next Wednesday. :faint: Where did the time go? He's excited, but a little apprehensive about it. I started the kids on some workbooks to get them in school mode. Yeah, they really are lovin' that! NOT! :lmao:

Hope everyone is doing well. :grouphug:

Hey there Fockers!!!!
Kristel - You guys are doing such a great job, I bet your yard is going to look really great when you get everything done.

Thank you so much. It's hard to see what it can be in the state that it is. I'll be super happy when/if we get the hot tub. We had one that was 10 yrs old. It came with the house. It was huge. We will be getting a smaller one. I do miss being able to climb in it after a hard day. It really does do wonders!

I too like living in a small town. I've lived in bigger cities but really nothing beats small town living. We have Pittsburgh, Columbus, and Cleveland all close to us so we don't lack in things yet don't have to deal with all the traffic and everything else that comes with bigger cities. My town was just too small. Everyone knew you and what they didn't know they made up. Seriously, when I was living in my own apartment in my 20s they still would call my dad to tell on me. It was just so annoying. I live in the country now. It's nice albeit a bit inconvenient at times.

Thanks for the comp.

I hope Janet made it!

WooHoo on math being about done. Good Luck on the test!

Oh Mel, I am so happy about SD. That has to be such a relief for you!!! Yet another reason to celebrate at WDW!

******************************************************************

Well people I have been in Disney shopping overdrive the last couple of nights/days. :scared1: It's a good thing I am working some OT between now and time to go. I've mainly been buying gifts for Rockie - lanyard w/pouch, pins, hidden Mickey book, some earrings.

PLUS>>>>>>>>>> I decided that we would dress up for MNSSHP..............in...........................................are you ready...............................................it had to be comfortable.........................................................and cheap....................................................it just came to me................................................I'm sure it's not original........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................pajamas!!!!!!!!
Yep, I was on the shop Disney site and saw that they had PJs on sale. That's when it hit me. I'm getting Rockie Mickey PJs with those cute Minnie ear clips. I got Tink PJs for myself. I also got a couple of beanie plush toys to carry. I think it will be awesome and crazy!!!! I'll take pics of all the stuff when I get it.

Doug is off next week. He's going to finish replacing some of the fence around the patio. Plus replace the brake pads on 2 vehicles. I've been placing big rocks in the area that will be the water fountain/stream. I want to get some plastic/rock down temporarily so the dogs will quit tracking mud in.

I get to work the next 4 nights.

Be good Fockers!
