Thanks for all the advise on the nursing program guys. I really am leaning towards it, there are two schools in my town that I could get my degree from which is nice as hopefully I would not have to move. I'm waiting to hear back from my dad on what he thinks, he is away on vacation and I really value his opinion so I don't want to do anything until I talk it over with him. My mom is always very supportive of whatever I do which is nice but sometimes I need someone to tell it to me straight and not baby me and my dad is always good for that, I know he will tell me his honest opinion.:goodvibes

I saw somebody mention Christian Bale, what I have read is that it is not physical abuse he is being accused of but verbal, apparently you can charge people for that in England. :confused3 Jo is that true?

Great news. I have an interview this Friday with an agency...that pays great...and is an early intervention agency for birth to 3...my favorite age group! YAY!
Ooooh good luck!!!!

Jo - I almost peed my pants. That was so darn funny! The big nose and little head. My ds wants me to do that to him! :lmao: I'm going to play with it tonight, after I get home from my HAIR FOIL. YUM, YUM!
It is funny isn't it, so what did you do to your DS? :rotfl2:

suitcases are out and stuffed with lots of junk, house is clean and organized. Go me!
:thumbsup2

My dh is leaving tomorrow and I think that means I'll be getting takeout. The kids don't like to help in the kitchen and I'm way too miserable to cook.
Takeout sounds good Mel :thumbsup2

It's funny isn't it :rotfl2:

Evening All !! Had a tough day at work!! Staff meeting did not go well, I have a headache from all the complaints and if they don't end up introuble for running their stupid mouths which meant I had to follow up on and even after I'm telling them be careful what you say !!This is a VERY regulated field and you can get charges of abuse real easy .. When my boss comes back I know heads are gonna roll !!
Oh Rosie :hug:

hello everyone!!!! i know i haven't been here in a few days , i'm having dis and focker withdraw!!! i've been busy, but i also am hooked on the twilight series! OMG , it's incredible. i'm on the 2nd book right now. i'm at work and i forgot my book at home!!!! .

Not that I know of :confused:

It's Ellies last day at school day, Jess finishes tomorrow, I can't believe that Ellie now only has 1 more year left at Primary school and that Jess has been at her new school for a year already!!!!!!

I'm off to the hairdressers in a little while, I expect I'll just come back with the same style though :rotfl2:

Good morning all Have to take the girls to summer school , cook supper and go to work, leave to take Steph to eye doctors to check new contacs , then back to work! Fun wooow!!

Oh and these are for Mel... "Hi Mel!" :wave:

This is an "Esay" and this is his "Heina".... :cool2:

knotts013.jpg

Oh, and these are "Ruca's" :lmao: and the guy is a "Loc"

knotts010.jpg

Unfortunantly, Andy's co-workers had the run of the park, so the homies were hard to find. :teeth: Finding locs, ruca's, and heina's wasn't easy. BUT, it was easy to spot this guy:

OMG T, I laughed so hard when I saw these! That guy all in white! HA! :lmao: I'm sure he thought he looked GREAT when he left the house...:sad2: Too funny. Thanks for the visual demonstration on Latin American fashions....

TE: I keep forgetting to ask about your hearing aids....sorry. Are they fixing them?

I know that I had a million other things to say but I can't remember any of them. DH is leaving for Indy today (just till tom. night). I already informed the boys that they are NOT going anywhere today (friends, the lake, sleepovers) and that they're stuck with boring old mom today. :laughing: I need a day to lay around and get better. The eye feels better today but I look I was on the losing end of a bad fistfight.

I have to run out to the market later and grab essentials but that's all. I have a pile for the library but the boys can run those inside for me.

Hope you guys are having more exciting times than me! :confused3

MEL:banana:

I actually have been there and done that. Not my fav. I had a few patients die on me and I was devastated. I did brain injury team at an acute-care rehab. So, I had stroke, TBIs, and neuro cases...including Alzheimer's and dementia patients. And I had a lot of dysphagic patients. Not my cup of tea. I took a lot of sadness home with me. I admire you though...more than you will ever know...for doing it TE!

That part of it is just starting to hit me actually as I've been at the same place 4 months now.......the past 10 or more years has been outpt diabetes so everyone gets better and thanks me (or if they don't, I don't know about it...). So it still surprises me when someone I've been working with dies (like yesterday).

So with the early intervention, you go into their homes? I interviewed with a team in Ft Worth once but decided not to do it (very few hours and spread out too much to get a baby sitter at the time). I don't have experience with deveopmentally delayed kids either.

Oh no!!! Hope you guys are safe! We were living in Ft. Worth at the time Katrina hit New Orleans. I think that was actually supposed to come for Dallas wasn't it? Either way I had my family and friends calling just about every day asking how we were and if we were safe. Kind of a scarey time since I have lived all my life in WV and tonardoes rarely pop up around here.

Where in Fort Worth? We lived in Park Glen near Keller until 2004. And where in WV? (I'm close to Bluefield now).

+++++++++++
and for my caring Fockers.........my hearing aid is fixed but it's not adjusted right, and the audiologist only comes to my small town once per week and last week she wasn't here..........so-o-o I'm waiting for her to come and adjust it! She said I could mail it, but I'm only allowed 1 loss on my warranty, and I don't trust the USPS!

+++++++++++
I'm off today............which means groceries and laundry by the looks of my house!:sad2:

Hi Jo! The Michellin Man is who I thought of as well. Very funny!

So, when do your girls return to school? My DD7 starts in about two weeks! She's been out seven weeks already!

That part of it is just starting to hit me actually as I've been at the same place 4 months now.......the past 10 or more years has been outpt diabetes so everyone gets better and thanks me (or if they don't, I don't know about it...). My DD7 had speech therapy when she was 2 years old and the therapist came to the house. It was great and really helped her develop some words. I remember her therapist came two days after DD4 and I came home from the hospital! She was going through fertility treatments at the time and by the time my DD turned 3 and switched over to the school system (about three months later) we found out that she was pregnant! :thumbsup2

Well, today we're headed to the zoo to meet up with Parla and her kids! We're going to feed the giraffes at 11am and then watch the elephant bath at 11:30. There's also a little spray park at the zoo where the kids can play in the water, so I'm sure we'll hang out there for a little while. I don't think we'll see the "change your lightbulb show" disguised as a dolphin show though. :sad2:

I'll post pics later!

I'm home.

Glad everything went OK, sorry you're sore. Feel better soon!:hug:

We visited the living history center today. It's called Conner Prairie and is only about 1 1/2 miles from our house.

I've always wanted to go there but figure the kids wouldn't take it too well. I would like to go at Halloween when they do the Headless Horseman. I'm sure the kids would handle that better.:rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao:

I'm agreeing with Andy here because the first thing I thought of was the Pillsbury Dough Boy. ;)

===================

Getting the kids ready and heading off to the zoo to meet Jodi. This time I will resist my Focker ways and make sure to get a picture! :rotfl:

well, no actually...it's still not quite right.......thanks for caring........you WERE caring, right?? ..;)

Of course I was:hug:

Hi girls! :wave2: Just checkin' in. Too many pages to catch up... who's gonna give me a quick recap? Janet? CE?? Anyone???

I'll try...

Mel - Had to have her eye needled again, but she is fine today

TE - Waiting for her hearing aid to be adjusted

V - Leo started horse camp and doesn't like cleaning horse poop.

Parla and Jodi have a meet today (and 1 of them MAY remeber to take a pic)

Lessa - Is trying to make a decison on whether she should go to nursing school.

Kat - started her PTR

CE - Is in the midwest, but has been checking in sporadically

Jo - Emma is moving to NYC and the girls are upset. Also she ONLY came in 3rd in her tournament.

Jen1 is being stalked

Jen2 has an interview on Friday

That's all I can remember. Can anyone else fill int the blanks.:confused3

Here's a funny for you....

When good highlights go bad.....

I work with a woman who has her hair like that:eek:

I saw somebody mention Christian Bale, what I have read is that it is not physical abuse he is being accused of but verbal, apparently you can charge people for that in England. :confused3 Jo is that true?

Ridiculous!

It's Ellies last day at school day, Jess finishes tomorrow, I can't believe that Ellie now only has 1 more year left at Primary school and that Jess has been at her new school for a year already!!!!!!

How long are they our for now?

Just rest and make the kids wait on you for a change;)

So it still surprises me when someone I've been working with dies (like yesterday).

:hug: I give you alot of credit...I could never do what you do!

We have a Focker meet in our cusps! Whooohoooty! :cool1: Post a pic and have a superfragilistic time girls!

TE- What about sending the hearing aid to her with insurance?

Mel- I am glad it is starting the recovery process. Is just the eye swollen or is the area around it too? Will someone drive you to the grocery store? Can you patch the eye?

Jo- Love the Michellin Man. Good analogy! So you are getting a cut? I think it has been Focker Hair Do week. I had a cut a few days ago and then a foil last night too! So did you really keep it the same?

Lessa- If nurses are in as high of demand there as here, you should be good to go! I think that there are even excellerated courses here, because of their need. My DH is in the Health Care industry (just for IT).

I thought about it, but I had a hard time getting money back for a wedding gift the USPS lost, so I'm just waiting till Thursday. It works some, just not 100% and my right ear is perfect. I forgot it yesterday,and it's kinda like leaving your glasses at home--you can still see, but it's kinda blurry.

When good highlights go bad.....

OMG T! I laughed so hard at your descriptions!

Ahhhh...the pictures bring me back to all of those family reunions. :rotfl:

That part of it is just starting to hit me actually as I've been at the same place 4 months now.......the past 10 or more years has been outpt diabetes so everyone gets better and thanks me (or if they don't, I don't know about it...). I will go into the homes. I looooove DD kids, my favorite is the babies...so this would be a perfect job for me. I really admire those that do geriatrics. I just can't do it. I feel like I"m helpful, but eventually, I can't help anymore...KWIM?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today, Jon and I are going down to Old Town. He looooves it down there. So full of culture!
Seriously...you people need to come to NM and check out Santa Fe and Albuquerque. I'll take you on a tour! ;)
Ack! I don't have time to talk this morning! :headache: I woke up at 8 and had to do a quick shower so I can p/u my babies at 9. So, I skimmed the messages and I'll be back this afternoon.
We have haircuts and a lunch date. then our Super Target opens today and I want to wander around there a bit. :lovestruc
T- Love the pics!
Mel- Glad to see you're posting.
Bye!!!! :rolleyes:
Jen- I'd love to see NM! Maybe one spring break we will head that way!
Dawn- You know Super T has a great big special place in me heart!:lovestruc Did you know that? I was apart of the Super T team at T, when it was first starting out. Liquor and Deli baby! It was a great concept to be a part of. :lovestruc
So who can help me update my siggie hyper link with my TR...IT is no longer a PTR...BUT A TR! :thumbsup2
Good morning all Have to take the girls to summer school , cook supper and go to work, leave to take Steph to eye doctors to check new contacs , then back to work! Fun wooow!!
Take it easy Rosie :goodvibes
The eye feels better today but I look I was on the losing end of a bad fistfight.
I think that calls for a photo, can you remember the photo I posted when I had my eye done? :eek: :rotfl2:
So it still surprises me when someone I've been working with dies (like yesterday).
That must be terrible but something that you have to get used to I suppose :sad2:
So, when do your girls return to school? My DD7 starts in about two weeks! She's been out seven weeks already!
They go back on 3rd September so almost exactly 6 weeks!
Well, today we're headed to the zoo to meet up with Parla and her kids! We're going to feed the giraffes at 11am and then watch the elephant bath at 11:30.
Getting the kids ready and heading off to the zoo to meet Jodi. This time I will resist my Focker ways and make sure to get a picture! :rotfl:
Have fun you two and we expect lots of photos :goodvibes
How long are they our for now?
6 weeks, they go back September the 3rd maybe with jetlag :rotfl2: Oh and my hair looks the same just shorter :rotfl2:
So you are getting a cut? I think it has been Focker Hair Do week. I had a cut a few days ago and then a foil last night too! So did you really keep it the same?
Same but a bit shorter, yes I am adventurous :rotfl2:
We have haircuts and a lunch date.
You're having haircuts too, it really is hairuct week :rotfl2:
Well Emma won't be moving to NYC till January as her DH's boss won't let him go till Christmas, she is going for a few days next week and me and Dad are looking after the boys, I still have my uses apparently :rolleyes1
Mel- I am glad it is starting the recovery process. Is just the eye swollen or is the area around it too? Will someone drive you to the grocery store? Can you patch the eye?
Thanks! It's swollen (lid, lower lid and just slightly around the eye) My eye is RED though. Remember the Cylons in the original Battlestar Gallactica? Yep. That's me.
I can drive so that's fine. If I don't feel like it, DS can drive. He has his permit! They have me patch it when I have the surgery but not the needling. Don't know why. I'm glad they don't though. I'd rather see out of both eyes (even blurry) than only one!
I thought about it, but I had a hard time getting money back for a wedding gift the USPS lost, so I'm just waiting till Thursday. It works some, just not 100% and my right ear is perfect. I totally feel ya on that one TE! Somewhat impaired but still workable!
Glad you have the girl to fix it next week!
----------
My Dsis is a nurse at a small hospital in MA. She worked for years at a nursing home in the Alzheimer's unit. Now, in the hospital, she works that floor mostly but she rotates through ER and other floors. She prefers working with the Alz. and Dementia peeps though. :confused3 She says it's like being at a big family reunion..... (ha!) Seriously, I have told her a million times that I admire her capacity for caring and patience in dealing with folks who, through no fault of their own, are often violent and angry. She says she doesn't take it personally, but I know I would. Good thing there are people like her in this world! (And all of you nurses, and caring providers!!!) I adore my nurses at the Glaucoma dr's. They are the most professional, wonderful ladies. It makes me feel better as soon as I go into the office!!!
MEL:banana:
Jen copy the http code then push the insert link button and paste the code in. It will then look like the photo below, whilst the writing is highlighted in blue type what you want and it will be there :thumbsup2
Glad your eye is feeling better. Why do you have glaucoma tho?
Our dementia unit patients are not violent---more "pleasantly confused" which is a state I identify with sometimes! ;) The aides and nurses on that unit are very patient and redirect gently.....or sometimes just go along. Many of the ladies carry baby dolls to take care of and the nurses help feed and even give shots to the babies!:goodvibes
