Mel -- Sorry about the pressure. Maybe it will go down after your trip. I don't know much about this stuff. Here is a :hug: for you. Glad you were seeing at 20/20:banana:. That is good news.

How the heck are you at 18 pages already.
It's all Janet's fault, she's such a chatterbox :rotfl2:

Jo - I am sure you are golfing so I hope you win
Not today Mo, that's 2 days in a row :faint: :rotfl2:

Just got back. It was a bad visit. :worried: My pressure in the right eye is 23 and the left is 16. Not good. He wanted to needle it again (remember that??) but I said, "I'm leaving for FL tomorrow!!!!!" He said, Oh no then, we'll wait. He gave me more eye drops to lower the pressure till I come home. I have to go July 22nd for the needling. :( I know it's just the battle of glaucoma but sometimes I'm so sad. The new glasses are awesome though and for the first time since I've started with the glaucoma guy I saw the chart at 20/20!! :worship:
Oh Mel, at least he's going to do it after your trip :hug:

Oh yea. I updated my TR!

Will check it out~

Janet - Happy B-day and have fun at the Jersey Shore!

Thanks :goodvibes

To be the first one to the end of the LAST circle! Duh... :rotfl2:
I will be on the lookout for Jimmie Johnson postcards! :thumbsup2

:sad2:

So, I'm going on vacation (with MORE meds...) but I'm going to have fun. I'm not going to think about the eye. L/Y all. It's nice to be able to spill the triumphs and tribulations here without worrying that you're sick of hearing it, which I strongly suspect my RL friends are.

Just wanted to give you one of these...:hug:

Ugh! I just opened the mail. Nana got her report card for the last trimester. She got one A, three B's, and one D+. I am beyond :furious:. I hate when she waits too long to get help in a class. Her grade in Honors Algebra 2 fell to a C+ at midterm and then she started going in for help. By that time she was completely lost. I know she was trying at the end but why not get help when you first see you are having trouble.

Margie: Totally hear you! My DS is a freshman this year too! He had the same problem in Algebra 2 at mid-term. He did pull it out by the end, but we were REALLY angry for the same reason.

I don't want to hear about it :
1. For the first time, when your grade is already a D..
and
2. From your teacher!!

Sorry you're bored Kat, what cookies did you make? Is there any clubs or anything that you can go to?

I made oatmeal coconut chocolate chip cookies. I really do need to find more things to do, It's mainly been waiting on the disability stuff, once I know for sure I'm going to have to figure something out!
Sounds like your day out with the girls was fun!I think we are going to "The Chip Shop" tomorrow, the place with all the yummy UK type food (bangers and mash included).

You all keep talking about the Twilight books. I borrowed the first one from Nana and I have tried to read it 3 times now. I just can not get into it. How long did it take you all to get hooked? Nana said it isn't as good in the beginning and to keep reading.

I was instantly hooked. Once you get into the book a bit you'll catch onto their love story, thats the best part of the book.

Good Morning Fockers ! Just a drive by post before work!! Dishes are done , supper in the crockpot and just have to throw a load in! Girls have their Fun Day today and hopefully I can stop by at it before or after my Managers Meeting!!See Ya tonite!!

What's in the crock pot???

So, I'm going on vacation (with MORE meds...) but I'm going to have fun. I'm not going to think about the eye. L/Y all. It's nice to be able to spill the triumphs and tribulations here without worrying that you're sick of hearing it, which I strongly suspect my RL friends are.

MEL:banana:

NO STRESS! You are going to Disney! Everything will be fine there! ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~
UGH. another wasted day mostly. KC was home late last night and slept late today so we didn't make it to the DMV. He just went for some bagels for lunch. I think I am gonna make him clean the kitchen LOL!
But Kat, if he screwed up, why should you have to pay him more to fix his mistake??? Did you hear from the IRS?
He should pay you for the mistake::yes::
We She still may be spacey, but I know that's just her and while it's frustrating some times, I know it's nothing personal.
I love happy endings! Good for you for pulling your big girls panties up and taking care of business! What a great roll model you are for your kids.
Glad you worked everything out Dawn:hug:
Two word my friend - Turbo Tax::yes::
That never worked for us. We ALWAYS got a letter a year later telling us we still owed. Needless to say... We use an accountant now and got the same darn letter for the past 2 years.:confused3 I'm thinking there is something going on with the tax bracket we're in...:confused3
I know, right?! If only I had the patience for teaching...
Actually, I always thought I'd love to teach history. And I would, but I'd need to have only the brightest, insanely self-disciplined, most ridiculously interested in history students. :rolleyes:
Bet you would be great!
*sigh* I'm so tired, tired, tired of school I could puke.
V- I want you to know that you are a total inspiration to all woman! You not only are a single momma, you are trying to better your education for both you and your little Leo's well being. You will get through it. I know you will. Your hard work will pay out at the end. No pain no gain girlfriend! Try to take a small break, even for a few days. Try to put classes out of our brain and maybe you'll be better equipped to jump in, with you V ambition in tow.:hug: GO V! GO! :cheer2:
btw... what is FWIW? (from a post a few days ago)
Mel- I'm sorry about the eye issues! :hug:
Jen- When is your interview? Congrats! I think I forgot to tell you that!
________________________________________________________________
I have been trying my bestest to keep up with you all. It is tough. We having been running from class to class in the AM and filling our afternoons with naps and playdates.
My newest news is that we are trying to swing a family vacation to the east coast in under a month! Yea, I know we are nuts for the short notice, but we need a family vacation and my dh needs a a non WDW vacation. ::yes:: I'm hoping we can pull it off. My dh travels to Connecticut each month for business. To fly into Connecticut from MN is around $575-700, coach:faint: We are looking into flying somewhere in NY and driving to Connecticut. We are also planning on a day tour of NYC to show our ds some of the iconic spots (hi Kat:wave: ) and maybe hitting the vineyards in NY. Whilst my dh has his meetings, I can drive the kiddos to the beach (45 min-1 hour from hotel).
Any East Coasters/seasoned visitors have ideas of not to be missed things that we should look into?
Are we nuts?
on second thought... skip that last question! :bitelip:
One Wed. and one Thurs. :scared1:
And I got a hit on another job today. That I REALLLLLY want! And the salary is great. And may allow me to add more points to my...oh...nevermind! ;)
Oh no, over here though those grades would be great :confused:
I think we are going to "The Chip Shop" tomorrow, the place with all the yummy UK type food (bangers and mash included).
Have fun and let me know what you have :thumbsup2
That's great and stop it will you ;) :rotfl2:
I've just had some very yummy yet naughty Haagen Dazs Strawberry Cheesecake icecream OMG it's delicious :cloud9:
*sigh* I'm so tired, tired, tired of school I could puke. It's going well enough - I just miss doing something - ANYTHING! - else with my free time. I just took a look at a class I still need to take... and it made me want to quit right now. :worried: Just soooo much individualized work. It's crazy, but when the responsibility for coming up with reading materials, subject matter, topics for discussion, etc. is placed on ME, I wind up doing 10 times the amount of work the professor had in mind. I really must find a way to pass the course without giving 100% of myself to it.
But HOW?????!!!!!
Poor V :hug:. I am sorry I did not realize you are still in class. I took this summer off. I, like you just couldn't give any more. Please remember all you have learned and how far you have come. Also if you are like me you put way more into it than you have to. I am not saying you should just coast but your 85% is like others 100%. So let up on yourself a little.
A class mate once told me when I was fretting over a B on a test:
Q - What do you call a doctor who graduated with all A's?
A - Doctor.
Q - What do you call a doctor who graduated with all C's?
A - Doctor.
While I could not get all C's I try to remember this when I am trying to be perfect. You will get through this and you will have a better life because of it. You are a great role model.:hug:
We're back from swimming... We were there about 4.5 hours! :eek: We're all showered and in our jammies. We're all exhausted and have red cheeks- but we had fun!
G-Luv: Are you still coming this way? I have so coupons and a suggestion for a couple of restaurants. Just PM me. :goodvibes
I'll be back to do some actual replying tomorrow, but wanted to say
THANK YOU!
for all the words of encouragement! It's one of those days when I feel completely overwhelmed with everything on my plate and even typing it out helped... you guys are the best! :grouphug:
I think my biggest stumbling block is the fact that the stupid Art History degree will net me next-to-nothing in pay. So, once the BA is finished, I'll have to start some majorly creative thinking as to how to market my work experience with the degree to find work that fulfills me AND pays the bills! :headache:
But I won't think about that today. I'll think about that tomorrow. ;)
LY/MI!
No...not since I am moving! :sad:
BUT...in 2 days I am doing something I have never done before!
I am going CAMPING! Outside. In a tent? Is that what it's called? At a lake a few hours from here.
Lake=stagnant water to me.
YUCKO!
What if there is a body at the bottom and I dislodge it somehow by swimming over it and it's head pops up in front of me?
Or what if I step on a buried crack needle?
OMG...I'm going to die.
I can def recommend some good restaurants in the city... what else are you looking to do? And where are these vineyards you speak of??? I am intrigued.
Hi Mel & CE! I think SAHMs are awesome! I would want to do the same if I had kids.......DH won't let me stay home with the dogs....the nerve!;)
Sheesh, what is he thinking? :) I missed you, but have fun!
Her chesticles are sooo huge that it took me awhile to make it out as the B and the X were on sides, KWIM?
Oh, dear lord... :lmao:
So I've discovered the silver lining to these braces.... WEIGHTLOSS!! :woohoo: Down 5.5 pounds so far! I may actually fit into my vacation clothes after all!
I am intrigued... :scratchin
Ahhhh that was where I was going wrong ;) :rotfl2:
I thought you might have done better just chewing... ;)
We are going to the Charlotte Speedway (Lowe's Motor Speedway) where you get to drive around the track (cool!) and then visiting several of the teams shops. My DH works with the Nascar teams occasionally and has made alot of friends there. We also plan on doing one of the museums, I think RCR. (That's the team that Harvick, Boyer and Burton drive for - for you UN-Nascar people!!)
Sounds OK - I'm not a Nascar fan - but did I mention that we are friends with a pilot for Hendricks?
I'm so glad you guys got it worked out HSM! :goodvibes
I missed quoting Dawn, but me, too. :)
I feel you, girl. At Schlitterbahn today I refused to swim in the spring-fed river water. Uh, uh. It's nasty looking. Not going to happen. So I chilled in the hot tub with my friend while the kids went in the murky pool. Mama doesn't do brown waters... :sick:
I tried to tease B that I saw a poop float by, but she still went in the water. Oh, yes, she did.
Hi all...
Busy day - the family picnic after kindergarten and then I've been - GASP! - actually playing outside with the kids for most of the afternoon. :rotfl: Now I'm making dinner for them because it's the last t-ball practice. :hyper: I'm not excited about that being over, no...:rolleyes1 :rotfl:
The picnic was fun, but we were complete morons and forgot the camera. :headache: Luckily we had the t-ball coach and his wife there, whom we like a lot, and so they said they'd copy pictures for us.
Then, whomever has the Mother of the Year award needs to pass it along:
Woody came in just a bit ago to get a "fizzy water" (sparkling) for D. It was on the top shelf of the fridge, so he dragged a stool over to get it. One of the bottles fell over and knocked him right between the eyes. He was crying, but I didn't see anything too bad, so I sent him back out. D yells up that Woody needs ice - sure enough, the kid has a huge goose egg on his forehead. :eek: But - this is where the stellar parenting comes in - it was all I could do not to laugh, because really, who gets hurt by a plastic water bottle? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:
