Jen, so glad you and Jon are home safely and that Tera is there with you to help you through all of this:hug:

:teeth: That made me giggle...I have no idea why...

Cause it's so prim, proper, and NOT ME :confused3 :lmao: I think it was the English teacher in me sneaking out...she does that from time to time. But I meant it. Travel well, safely, and expeditiously. :thumbsup2 And I'm glad you did.

Afternoon all !!
All caught up!' On the lice issue I too have never seen the head variety other than the dandruff looking eggs, and working at Head Start I saaw them a lot and checked and even helped de lice !!:scared1: When working at the eye doctors off ice many years ago a girl called and told me she had little brown bugs jumping from eyebrow to eye brow !! No I wonder how she got those !!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hey all. Busy and productive day here. I went grocery shopping, finished straightening up from the party last night and made eggplant parm from eggplants grown in our garden:thumbsup2 . It is in the oven now, so guess what we are having for dinner.

After dinner we are going to Staples so I can get the paper to make the invites for Jimmy's Birthday party. I figured out what I am going to do with the kids for that. It is now a sprinkler party. I am telling all of the kids to bring their bathing suits and towels and I have a couple of sprinklers I am going to set up for them. Between that, the swing set, and the pinata I think that will cover 3 hours with them eating and everything:thumbsup2

Will check back in later:goodvibes

Well movie night was complete success. The kids had a ball and so did the parents.
Sounds like a fun night!:thumbsup2
I'm home.

And it feels soooooo good!!!

We had dinner last night and then I went out with meeska...for a nice tall Pina Colada. And it was soooooo good. Sometimes...you need a little rum.
Yummy! I think I need one right now. I'm getting things together for a consignment sale and my parents are coming tomorrow. Why do I do these things to myself?:confused3
I had a yard sale 2 days before vacation and now I'm doing a consignment sale right when my parents are here. At least they can watch the kids while I haul all my stuff to the sale.
It is now a sprinkler party.

Another fun party!

DH got a text saying our Verizon bill was ready and the bill is double what it normally is. I 'bought fainted. So I looked online and I did remember to pay last month, but it looks like they are carrying over a charge. I called them up and nope - we went over our minutes. I guess I should say DH went over our minutes.:mad: I talked the guy into helping me out a bit and he took $20off my bill.

Jen2- I'm so glad you're home. I'm glad Tera's there for you. Isn't it nice to have a friend who will listen and go for a drink with you? :goodvibes

Janet- Mmmmm... that sounds good! I guess I should figure out what's for dinner. :confused3

All the lice talk is grossing me out and making my head itchy!!!:headache:

We went to church, then to MIL's restaurant to meet SIL and BIL for brunch. Then we went to the pet store to get a few things. We also stopped to look at a car (the dealer wasn't open) that K thought I might like.

I really want a Saturn Outlook, but it runs 23-25,000 for a 2007. The Dodger Durango was about 15,000 for a 2007. We have a trade-in that's about 4,000 and 5,000 to put down. We were told we'd get 0%, so I need to figure it out. I really like the Saturn better, but do I like it $10,000 more? It seems like a "smarter" deal to go with the Durnago. :guilty: What would you guys do? :confused3

Anyway, once we got home I was so tired I took a 2 hour nap! I haven't done that in a week or more! :eek:

Which one has a better resale value? My sister thought she wanted another Honda but found out for about the same amount she could get an Acura, isn't that the Honda inside?, which has much better resale.

HAve you looked at a Pre-Owned...something coming in off a lease that is only a year or 2 old. That is what I got with the Town and COuntry and got a great deal on it and it is in great shape:thumbsup2

I should look into that. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Oh, they're used. I won't get a new car. They are 2007s. I think I decided to do the Durango. K said he'd buy it Saturday because we are financing our house and we close Friday. I think he was joking, but we'll see.
It's a 2007 Red Dodge Durango. It's purty. :love:

Bring a book, or 3. ;)

It's funny you say that, I already planned to bring at least 2. I don't think they let you use Ipods right?

Ok, yesterday was a very lazy day. I did take the boys for haircuts and pick up some groceries but that's it! DH is still not feeling like himself so he's not up to doing much. That's fine with me.
MUST RANT, CANT HOLD IT IN!!![/QUOTE]

Well first off: :hug:
You def have to put your foot down! It's your house and your kids and you know best!!

And...I'm home.

And it feels soooooo good!!!

We got home late yesterday evening...after driving through the remnants of Dolly. :eek: Not even a hurricane kept me from going home.

I have not spoken to my mother. She asked me if we were going to "talk about things" before I left, and I said no. I told her she crossed the line and I'd call when I was ready to speak to her.

We had dinner last night and then I went out with meeska...for a nice tall Pina Colada. And it was soooooo good. Sometimes...you need a little rum.

So glad you made it home ok!

I have had an urge to make something with eggplant....now I may have to go out and get some.

a rainy yucky day here. Watching "Big Love" all day. I am about to make some pasta and pesto for dinner and clean up some too. KC will be home tomorrow covering the evening shift so no pc time for me. I swear we need a bigger boat! Or a working lap top. LOL. Neither of which we can afford for now. oh well.

Happy sunday everyone! Can you believe in mere weeks we will be in WDW!!!!!?????

I have been goofing off all afternoon , shopping for Drug Store bargains and hitting Target!! Finally home and still alone. Oh yes I did go to the Chinese Buffet for lunch, it wasn't as good as usual they seemed to be out of stuff and the desserts wern't too good ! Oh well for $7 what can you expect!!

Red Hot Mama!:laughing:

The eggplant parm was awesome and there is enough left to have it tomorrow and still freeze some for another day:thumbsup2 I love summer gardens!

Red Hot Mama!:laughing:
:lmao: My only thing is I don't want green or gold. That's the color of the last two cars I had. I'm sick of those colors now. :headache:
I was going with white, but this one is $2000 less and the same year, so red it is. Red's my favorite color, so I'm fine with it. :banana:

Any loan people out in Fockerland? I'm going nuts thinking about closing this Friday. It's the 1st, so we're wondering if they will want a payment. The money's sitting there, in case they ask for it, but if they don't - woohoo! :woohoo: We know they don't want a payment until October, but we're not sure how this closing on the 1st will work. I'm guessing they will get the pay off number the day before and with no payment, so it'll include that $ with the loan amount, don't you guys think? :confused3

I could use that extra money! It's more than my furniture has left. :banana:

Aren't you supposed to place rosemary around your house to get rid of the bad spirits? Maybe we should all put this in our siggie.
200px-Rosemary.jpg
:thumbsup2 I say we spread it around here each day!

Honey, he's healing himself. It's okay if kids pretend now and again. Let him pretend he has a great dad. Because, he's going to learn differently someday. :hug:
Thanks Jen - I needed to hear that, too! :hug:
I have decided to take a "motha break."
Is it seriously messed-up that I'm jealous?! :rotfl:
And...I'm home.

And it feels soooooo good!!!
I'm SOOOOO glad! :goodvibes

All the lice talk is grossing me out and making my head itchy!!!:headache:
:rotfl2: Me too!
I really want a Saturn Outlook, but it runs 23-25,000 for a 2007.
I can't speak for the Outlook, but I've had 3 different Saturns over the years and they were great - NO problems at all. :thumbsup2

It's a 2007 Red Dodge Durango. It's purty. :love:
Just a word of caution from one red car owner in a sunny state to another...
your paint will fade like crazy if you don't hand-wax often. Maybe even if you do. But I can say for certain it will if you don't! :rolleyes: Only after I bought mine did someone tell me that red is the worst possible color to buy in FL. :headache:

Happy sunday everyone! Can you believe in mere weeks we will be in WDW!!!!!?????
:banana: :yay: :woohoo:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A decent Sunday for us. Leo and I hung out this morning, then went shopping for a new bike for him. Watched a POTC movie this afternoon and he's now in bed. More hore camp tomorrow...
Hi everyone! We washed my truck together today (it was a family effort!) Then I delivered my oldest to his friends for the day. Me, Bob and Gus went to see Wall E tonight! I thought it was really cute and sweet. Even Bob liked it!
After we had fajitas at my FAVE Mex place. Yummo. I hope that's low WW pts because it was Mucho delish!
Sorry about my huge rant this morning. I know in the scheme of things that's not the biggest deal in the world, but for some reason this morning it REALLY hit me! I have them out there in NY waiting to come here and I'm leaving town in 3 weeks!!!!
I appreciate all the positive comments about the issue!
Dawn: It's funny that you asked about cars today. DH and I were discussing the car issue ourselves. I lease my Honda Pilot and it's due to be turned in sometime in Feb 09. My son is getting his license in Feb. too. I don't want to give up my 4 wheel drive, they DONT plow here! The payments are huge on the lease, but buying it out at the end is only $100-$150 per month less. Dh says that there is a HUGE glut of trucks and SUV's at dealerships because when people's leases are up they are dumping them for gas friendly ones. SO, the dealers are letting them go cheap! Hondas and Acuras hold their value really well though.
I will say (though it sounds like you made your decision) my dh works in the auto industry with all of the BIG 3 automakers and he says you're much better off with a Saturn because Chrysler will likely be out of business VERY soon and that will void all their warranties. Also, the drive train (his area of expertise) is MUCH better in the Saturn. He said, hands down, the Saturn. Then he said, "Tell her, I wouldn't let ANYONE buy a Dodge right now! She didn't hear it here though..." They are keeping the Chrysler issue VERY quiet. They just broke all their contracts with outside vendors and demanded that they be re-written with terms that were "more affordable to Chrysler" in their current financial crisis. Hello!? Isn't the point of a contract that you MAKE TERMS and KEEP THEM????
That's the 2 cents from the Auto front. I really don't think people realize how badly the automakers are doing.....
MEL:banana:
**ooops. Need to add that I drive a Honda, and so does my DH. They are our 8th and 9th Hondas, respectively. Why do we drive Hondas when we get 1/3 off the price of a new US automaker car??? Because DH has seen where they build them........... Just sayin...
Thanks V and Mel! I really appreciate your input. I read it to K and will let him decide what to do. :goodvibes
I did find a white Dodge right down the streeet, so I would rather go with that than the red since it's so hot here int he summers. We'll see...:confused3
Jeez, Dawn, I just reread my post and please let me say that although I sound like a Know It All, I'm not really!
:rotfl:
Sometimes I forget that the rest of the world doesn't carry the pent up irritation I do at the auto industry! Comes from living/working/breathing it for the last 14 years!
Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be fine! Enjoy your new car! It's one of my favorite things, the "new car smell" and driving home in something that's new to me!!
MEL
No, don't be silly! I appreciate your perspective. That's what's so great about the Fockers. When you don't know something, someone else is informed on that subject and can help you. :hug: :goodvibes
I think K still wants to go with the Dodge, though. He said not fulfilling the warrenty is against the law and that since we're buying used (2007), I won't have much left probably anyway. :confused3 When he told me that I heard, "Wah wah wah wah..." :lmao: I just give him the info and let him decide on the big things. Then, nothing's my fault! :rotfl2:
