Wow! I just realized that I didn't have a "rest" day in there! I had thought that Wednesday was my resting day because we went to visit DD at college, but forgot about meeting with the trainer at the gym before we left. Good thing I started writing all this down or I'd forget it all!

Of course, that could be why my knee is hurting...:rolleyes2

last weeks totals

Sorry I did not post them sooner, my back issues have come back to haunt me but for last week I managed:

Running
12.5 miles
125 minutes
XT - 120 minutes

To everyone coming to MINNIE: CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU THERE!!! :cool1:

Hi,
Just wanted to add today

4 slow miles ran 42:26
1 slow mile walked 16:08
Im planning for 3 and 1 tomorrow and then resting until the moment of truth on Sunday.
I hope everyones week is going well.

Just checking in. I'm unfortunately gonna put a further dent in Team Herc's totals. Orthopedic said no running for a month. I posted about it on the weekly thread. :headache:

Anyway, I think you guys are doing great! I hope everyone going to run the Minnie has a great time! :wizard:

Shan.... I am so sorry to hear that you have been told no running for a month. However, a month isn't that long (I know that doesn't make it better, right?!) and it is so much more important that you heal so you can come back healthy and strong.

I just wanted to pop in and post my runs from Monday and Tuesday. Monday I got in 3 miles 24:08, and Tuesday was 5 miles in 40:12. I plan on running all of my runs at my planned Minnie Pace, maybe that will help me get the feel of that pace so I don't go crazy when I get there Sunday!! I have 3 planned for today, another 3 on Friday and that's it until Sunday morning!! I am getting so excited!!

TEAM NOTE:

When the change was made to the spread sheets some of the dates were different, especially for the week endings!! Like this week is listed as a bit longer because the end of the month is not until today. HOWEVER, I would still like everyone to report their weekly totals to me as usual and we'll just keep it that way to make it easier on everyone!!

Also, I have noticed that we have a couple of people that don't post weekly totals, they only post their daily w/o's. Which is fine, I do my best to keep up with the info on a daily basis so that I don't miss anyone. However, those of you that do this may want to check your totals on the spreadsheet to make sure that nothing has been missed. I want everyone to get credit for every mile and minute they put in!!

Now back to your regularly scheduled WISHing!!

Dana

Hey Shan, did the doc say no biking or elliptical? I know when I was down for over a week, I could bike and that helped me feel that I was making a contribution to the team. How about swimming as an option too? There is more to life than running (says the grumpiest person in the world when told they cannot run :lmao: ). Do take care of you!!

I conquered W5 D1 today of the C25K!

However I have noticed the further I get in the program, the slower I get. It makes sense I guess. I am running 5 minute intervals which is longer than I have ever run in my entire life might I add so I am doing them slower than the say 2 or 3 minute intervals of a few weeks ago. I guess once you build up strength and endurance speed will come? Is that how it works?

As long as I don't get swept in January. Oh that would suck.

Anyway, first things first, we have a 5K on June 14th and that will be our first milestone. I need to be ready for that.

Today was:

2.1 miles
32 minutes

Shan, I'm sorry that you can't run for a month. I echo princessrunner, did he say you could do something else, like swim or something? Might help the time pass faster for you.

All you Minnie runners--have a ball this weekend!

Allyson

Whats up team,
Sorry I dont have any miles or hours to post for this week or last week. I had a lot of finals over the past two weeks but I am done now. Tomorrow Ill be moving to a new apartment but after that I will have nothing to do but run and ride my bike. Atleast until I start my job in June.

Keep it goin' Heroes

Shan....I definitely feel your pain. The doctor also told me no running, and I didn't for a long time. He gave me some PT exercises to do and my knees started to feel better, so I started running. Now, let me say that I've never run any longer than a minute and a half in my life, so I am no where near the runner you are. I was getting up to where I could run for about two minutes and now my knees are hurting again. It's enough to make me want to cry! Here I am, signed up for the half in January, and I can't even go for 5K yet! Even walking bothered me yesterday, especially downhill. And the bike and/or elliptical at the gym make them hurt too.

I meet with my trainer at the gym tomorrow, so maybe she'll have some suggestions.

I have been doing Pilates to work my core muscles. Maybe you could try that for now.

I'll be thinking of you. Please be thinking of me too.

Hugs Mary!
Were you gonna do a walk / run program for the half?

I'm actually thinking about using this time to go ahead and get some surgery done. When I'm set to go again I think I'm just gonna do a walk / run program for the half in January. Believe me, it feels like EONS ago that I ran that half. I feel like I've been set back to square one.

Yes, all I ever planned to do was walk/run as I've never been a runner at all. I have been walking for close to 20 years though, just not competitively. My walking pace is about 17:00/mile, so I will need to do some running to avoid getting swept.

I did go for a walk this morning and feel fine. Off to meet the trainer in 10 minutes, so I'm sure I'll be sore after that!;)

April totals:
715.93 miles
69.25 hours

2 races- Martian Half Marathon Apr 6 in Dearborn MI and St Anthony's Olympic Distance Triathlon Apr 27 in St Petersburg FL with the miles total already adjusted for the races.

W5D2 kicked my butt today. I made it through the first 8 minute run but on the second one I only could do 5 minutes of it. I guess I'll be revisiting this day on Monday.

2.3 miles
30 minutes

I dug out my old 20/20 Pilates workout DVD today and did Workout One, 20 minutes of Pilates.
