Is there a typo in this update, Tracey? We've had several people who lost more than 1 pound. :goodvibes Thanks for being weightkeeper -- it's a tough job! :worship:

I fixed it it should say 11 pounds. My keys have been sticking a lot on my laptop. Thanks for pointing that out!!!!

 I would like to know who I talk to to have a law passed that no activity on a Saturday can start before 9am. DD had to be up at the high school at 7:30am for band thing. We are NOT 7:30am on Saturday people! DH is still in bed and I should be but figured I should get some things done instead. I think there is a definitely a nap in my near future.

thanks, he finally made it home about 20 minutes ago. He said the roads were not stellar but the idiot drivers made it worse.

Glad to hear it. MEN! Refuse to stop when it probably would be the best thing to do.:sad2:

Today is my 7 mile run for Princess training and menu planning. princess: This is my first half marathon so I am little apprehensive about how this whole training thing will work but I feel wonderful (and scared :scared:).

Wow, I can't even imagine running 7 miles. That is so cool. If this is your first then it is your learning experience and you will just get better and better for the next ones. :thumbsup2

I would love see what others are planning for their menus. I need to tweak mine for this week.

Hey guys, just stopping in to beg.

We're in need of some serious PPD (prayers and pixie dust). As some of you know, DH's boss is....less than easy to get along with. After a rough week, he put DH on a nearly impossible "plan of improvement" last night with a huge list of tasks/accomplishments/guidlines to be met every hour, many of which depend on people other than him to do their job better. 2 misses within 90 days and he will be fired. Which means that he could lose his job Monday. This comes as a shock, with no previous disciplinary "write ups", etc, basically, the boss is out for him. I am terrified beyond words, shaking as I type. Jobs are VERY scearce here, and being terminated would make him ineligible for unemployment.

:mad:That really stinks. Is there anyone he can get help from, like HR or a higher up boss? Are they involved in this "plan" that was made up? Pixie dust for you all that it will work out.

We still have our tree up, and it's so pretty, I hate to take it down, but I will for sure before the weekend is over. .

DH wanted me to leave up all our Christmas decorations! He loved how I did the house this year and the trees and was sad to see them go. Maybe it was because he had to haul everything back up to the attic?

Biggest loss is 2 people lost 11 lbs!!!!! Great job!!!!
!
:cool1::woohoo: That is awesome!

I can NOT get my DISticker weight loss ticker to work:headache: It is not covered in my FAQs! I have it made as you can see but when I go in to change my weight it doesn't do anything. I log in and it says I am logged in, I get taken to the "Step 3" screen, I change the current weight in the box and the only options to click is "create ticker". If I click that I just get taken back to the main DISticker screen with a message that says my userid and password are incorrect-- but they aren't and it says I am logged in before that. :badpc:

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds Horrible! Hang in there.

Good morning everyone. I can't believe it is almost 8. I had a rough night sleeping. I woke up at midnight and couldn't go back to sleep. I went down to the family room and read using only my book light hoping I would get tired but that didn't work. I finally turned on the tv and layed down and finally fell asleep. I didn't get to work out this morning like I have the last week. I have to do something about that today. Maybe the exercise bike.

we didn't get any snow yesterday but we are supposed to get some today.

Gosh, I think I have the opposite problem. I was typing something on the computer last night around 8 or 8:30, falling asleep as I typed, then was awake promptly at 4 this morning. The positive is that I got some laundry done.

There's no snow in our forecast this far South; however, there is snow/sleet predicted for the town I work in (30 miles away) and freezing rain here tomorrow night and Monday morning. I'm a teacher, so I'm doing the "weather dance" (because, again...we don't get snow that often here, but we do get "extreme" weather conditions.) I really think, as long as the forecast holds, we'll be out, especially because a couple of teenagers died a week and a half before Christmas. They were on the way to their school down the road from the one I work at, and hit an ice patch on the bridge, slid into the opposite lane on the highway and straight into an 18-wheeler. (By the time the weather people put out that there was possibility of ice on bridges, it was too late.) I didn't know the kids, but some of my students did.

 I hope things work out well for you and your husband! Any idea at all what happened to require a "plan of improvement"?

I read that as more people fell into the "lost 1 pound" category than any other number. I might be wrong, though?

I'm good with being wrong. :) Just need to check back before I post a response that long that takes me forever to get posted. :thumbsup2

Yay for those who lost 11 pounds! :cheer2:

To answer questions, basically, they had a bad day before Christmas, several of his employees didn't show up, they got behind, he's worked triple time this week to get it straightened out, not caught up by Friday, plan was written by boss, HR went along w/ it. He has NO other disciplanary actions against him, was actually nominated by the company for a President's award earlier in year by corporate. Only person to go to would be corporate, I guess, half a country away, and the plan leaves no margin for error. 2 misses, terminated. And it's so involved and beyond comprehension, it was written to get rid of him. I can only remember one other time in my life I've been this scared.

Taryn - I will be praying for you, DH, your family & your situation. NOT easy and, having been there, VERY scary!!

Jessi - Congrats on the wedding! Beautiful!!

Made it thru yesterday with no sewage pump problems. Actually got some sleep last night. But today I have to do laundry, and each time it has gone, it has been during laundry time, and I have a HE washer that uses little water....go figure.

Tracked EVERYTHING yesterday!!! Go me!! First time I've done that since October. Gotta get back in the habit.

Had a calorie deficit on the Bugg of just over 1200. Managed 3.35 miles in the hills with Sashi. Pretty good day!

DS25, of course, has done NOTHING about cleaning out his car so I can try to sell as a parts car on Craigslist, or about looking for a new one. Tonight is his MOnday, so it will be another week before anything happens, I 'm sure. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Have a terrific day off!

1/7/11 QOTD: Are you surprised by how much (or little) you can eat for the calories, depending on which foods you choose?

Portion sizes catch me up sometimes. Other than that, I have been expecting to learn the calorie amounts for different foods, so haven't really been surprised by anything.

1/8/11 Saturday QOTD: How would you rate your "diet rage"?
Low- I'm moving slowly, but I'm on my way!

I haven't really dieted before. I've been pregnant or about to be pregnant for the last 18 years, and its hard to justify dieting in that cycle. (I've had 8 babies in all)

I am now at a point that it really matters to me, and I want to make the right choices - so massive losses aren't what I'm aiming at anyway. I want this to be a permanent solution.

I started cooking my entire OAMM batch, but only got about halfway done before my back was killing me, so I'll have to finish up today. We did sample all the dishes I finished, and everyone really liked them! (this is a huge accomplishment with so many picky eaters in the house) The calorie spreads on the dishes are terrific too. I'm so encouraged by this program.

Today my son begins auditions for summer intensives and its the first time we arent schlepping him to Chicago and back every weekend. I miss being there for the excitement and anticipation of the process, but am glad we don't have to do all the driving. Just have to share one of his audition pics!

My eldest got his PSAT scores back, and he got a 183, which is pretty good. He wants to go to college for economics, and we've been dreaming about the University of Chicago, but he'd have to pull up his score for the SAT by a lot to get in there. Lots of studying in our future!

I haven't been exercising at all lately. The kids, the housework, and now the cooking have dominated my days. I'm doing a whole lot more than I have in the last year, but I need to find the balance somehow. I've got at least another 5 hours of cooking to do today, but I will try to find a way to get in 20 minutes on the treadmill.

Have a terrific Saturday!

TauWillow- I just saw that you are in Central Il. I am from Champaign (actually Mahomet Seymour) and still have family there.

1/8/11 Saturday QOTD: How would you rate your "diet rage"?
Low- I'm moving slowly, but I'm on my way!
Moderate- Everyone's moving except me
High- I'm screaming but no one can hear me!
All Over The Board- It's stop and go all the way

Wow what a great QOTD!!:thumbsup2

I guess I wander from Low, becuase of the 11 lbs this week but I do know at some point I will it's gonna hit High:rotfl2:

I just know the plateau will hit and if I can get through that part I may be just fine. If it last too long I will def be All Over The Board:laughing:

I know you can do it!:thumbsup2 If you can do 7 today the 1/2 is yours. I was so scared I would be last across the finish line but when the time came I was so pumped. The adrenaline and the other runners will carry you easily.

That just stinks:hug: I have had bosses like that and they end up getting what they deserve most of the time. Good Vibes your DH pulls it through.

I was finally able to start moving in the gym, ortho said slow but steady was fine. No running for now but I was able to do 20minutes at 3.0 & 5.0 incline so I felt pretty good.

BF is great he is pushing just enough to get me motivated but not so much I want to smash him:lmao: We did some basketball drills that didn't involve running, then weights & ab work, finally hit the pool :cool1:

Today is hard at work and all the guys here go out for disgusting but delicious pizza, subs etc.. So me and my bag of carrots are envious:rolleyes1
I am hoping this gets easier the more I can get off. I am hoping to lose maybe 2 or 3 this week, since I had such a big drop the first week.

Question about tracking.

Since I've never really tracked before how do I start? Do you write food and drinks down? Or just food? Do you write serving sizes, calories, fat grams etc? I'm not really sure what to do an how in-depth to get.

I did download the sparkpeople food tracker app, but I need to get it on my phone.

I do know I want to write down the times I eat. We are creatures of habit so I want to see what pattern I follow for good eating and bad eating.

:goodvibes Lisa, I think it would be abnormal if you weren't a little scared!:goodvibes It's going to be so much fun!

I don't know the sparklepeople tracker but with mine I enter everything. Drinks, food, condiments etc.... the condiments do add fat & calories and can add up really quick.
