TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

Oh me, Oh my. Just got the save the date for my 20th HS reunion. Not sure how I feel about it.
Do I go? If I do I need to bust my butt to get in shape!!!

UGh, the pressure!!

Welcome to Healthy Habits Pamper Week!

My name is CC (short for Christina) and I will be your Healthy Habits coach for BL 11. I love the BL challenges and Healthy Habits has helped me significantly in achieving many of my goals.

Some Background Information: Thanks to donac (Dona-hostess of Team Donald) and jenanderson for their amazing help so I know how to coach! I couldn’t do this without seeing them in action previously. I will be continuing the prizes that Jen started.

Here’s How Healthy Habits Pamper Week Works: Each day there will be three "Habits" for you to complete. You do not need to keep track of your points and there will not be a winner. This is simply for your enjoyment!

Welcome to Day 3, Sunday 2/20

1) Exercise for 30 minutes.
2) Take a bath or a longer than usual shower.
3) Enjoy 2 servings of fruit.

P.S. I went to the post office today only to find out that they were without power. If I get out of work on time on Monday, I'll be able to mail the prizes out then. :goodvibes

Why ohhh why cant I seem to stop eating junk! I certainly wasnt the winner this week! but I am ok with that...try again next week to have a better week

Good Sunday morning Team Donald.

I just realized that I did not post yesterday. It was the first time since we started.

Had a busy and long day. Had to make up a sample costume yesterday morning and then off to the local high school for costumes.

First thanks to all of you who have sent PD to get the theater done. Yesterday they finished the carpeting:banana::banana:. the seats should go in this Thursday and Friday. The lights are up and the speakers are up. It is looking better and better.

I spent 8 hours there yesterday. It is going to be a long 2 weeks. Lots to do. the only disappointing part of yesterday was that only one parent showed up to help. We think Saturday is not a great day for volunteers. we are hoping that Sunday will be better.

I can't believe that the Princess is next week. I wish I was going even just to cheer you guys on

My back is feeling much better. Thanks for all the good wished.

I am hearing some great numbers on weight loss this week. don't forget to send them and your HH points in so that we have a chance this week.

I am going to visit my ds2 at college this afternoon. We have not seen him in a month. I think he is coming back for spring break in a just a couple of weeks so there is no sense in him coming home. But we still wanted to see him. He told us that he got his hair cut shorter than normal so I can't wait to see it.

I will be back later after our visit. I have tomorrow off. When we go back on Tuesday it will be 7 longs weeks until spring break. We don't usually go this long without a break. It will be a long March and April.

Have a happy and healthy day.

QUOTD: Sat /19 What's your favorite music to work out to?

I didn't see one Bowie song on your list, Susan. What's up with that? :confused3 ;)

I'm like you, I have a very eclectic mix for my workouts. Here are a few:

Capt Jack Sparrow (Klaus Baudelt)
He's a Pirate
Fabulous (Phineas & Ferb)
Pump It Up (Elvis Costello)
I'll Make a Man Out of You (Donny Osmond :faint:)
Hot Hot Hot (Smash Mouth)
Space Cowboy (Steve Miller)
Real Gone (Sheryl Crow)
Tall Cool One (Robert Plant)
4 Minutes (Madonna/Timberlake)
Are You Gonna Go My Way? (Lenny Kravitz)
So Close (from Enchanted)
Final Countdown (Europe)
Get Ready for This (The Calimocho Mix from Biggest Loser)
Sirius (Ronnie Maze Club Mix)

I also just added a couple of Daft Punk songs from Tron Legacy.

I did have a "splurge" of a glass of wine last night.... I haven't had a glass of wine in AGES. The only two times I can actually remember having wine in the past two or three years has been Christmas morning mimosas! Not sure why it was so appealing last night. That said, I DID NOT eat the pizza I brought home for DD. Instead I made my own "light" pizza with a 60 calorie pita pocket for the crust, a wedge of LC cheese, a large quantity of sauteed veggies and some sundried tomatoes and then a carefully measured portion of reduced fat shredded cheese. It was very satisfying. I did have one bite of DD's pizza, but was glad I had decided not to indulge... it wasn't worth it. Not eating the pizza was a bigger victory than it appears...... it was late (about 8:45 pm) and I was tired and hungry. That is a really tricky time for me. The pizza smelled SO GOOD... but I stuck firm and I am proud of myself.

Right now I have a nice pot of vegetarian soup cooking up. Not sure who else might eat it besides me. It has quinoa, so DS shouldn't eat it (allergies). DD won't want it because it has kidney beans. And I"m not sure if DH will try it. But I will LOVE it! I plan on filling my thermos to bring for my dinner at the swim meet tonight. The rest will be portioned out and put in the freezer probably. But I am ALL SET with warm, filling, healthy low-cal meals for the week!

Way to resist the siren's call of the pizza, Pamela. :thumbsup2 Your pizza was probably way better with all those veggies. Have you ever tried the WW roasted veggie pizzas? I love them -- the veggies taste like they were grilled and are really tasty.

It's nice to start out your week with your meals all set! :goodvibes

The men in my house claim that they bring the big trash can in and set it in the middle of the family room as soon as I leave -- they say it's just easier that way! I think they may not be kidding! :rotfl:

LTS, cookies happen. Glad you are having some nice weather! :sunny:

Dreamer24, I always admire anyone who moves on to Level 2 of the 30DS! :worship:

CC, love the pamper week!

Why ohhh why cant I seem to stop eating junk! I certainly wasnt the winner this week! but I am ok with that...try again next week to have a better week

Lots of room here in the wagon! :goodvibes

dona, that is a long time without a break. Thanks for the good wishes for the Princess. :flower3:

One week from today is the Princess! princess: Some of our group will be done by now and some of us (like me) will still be out there. Weather is looking pretty nice for us.

Have a great day DONALDS! :donald:

Kathy, you are tapering so don't overdo on the housework!
:lmao:You crack me up. Don't worry, I didn't. I'll be careful I don't overdo it again today.;)

Oh me, Oh my. Just got the save the date for my 20th HS reunion. Not sure how I feel about it.
Do I go? If I do I need to bust my butt to get in shape!!!

UGh, the pressure!!
It would make me feel young. My 30th is next year!! OMG!! That is just wrong.
Glad the mammo went ok. I was called back for more films and it was just a skin fold, so I think that is pretty common.

Here’s How Healthy Habits Pamper Week Works:[/B] Each day there will be three "Habits" for you to complete. You do not need to keep track of your points and there will not be a winner. This is simply for your enjoyment!

Thank you CC. I like the idea of a long shower after I get my run/walk in outside in the cold.

Dona- Glad the back is feeling better. Have a great visit with DS. We'd love for you to be coming to the princess and cheering us on. I also can't believe it is almost here.

LTS- Why weren't you in my head the other night when I shared a Molten chocolate Lava cake at chilis with my ds?????? ;) I hope the dinner went well last night.

Pamela- So excited for you booking your trip with dd. I think that is so great that you take a trip each year with each child. I'm sure they will always treasure those memories. Will you and ds go to OOB again?
My brother and sil go to Wells every mothers day weekend, and we've come up the past 2 days for a day visit, but I think we're going to get a room this year and treat ourselves.

Well, I may not make One-derland before wednesday, but I'm thrilled to be just 3 pounds away from it. I'm thrilled to have TOM this week but haven't been the best I could be. Still, other than the molten choc lava cake, I haven't been too bad. I'm going to head out soon for my last long run/walk, 5 miles, and then I'll do 3 on tuesday and we leave wed. Am getting nervous at times, and other times I know I'll be fine, but it really does mess with your head.

After vacation, I will definitely be right back on track. I have found in the past, i may gain a little in wdw, but if I get right back on track, it's gone in a week, whereas if I keep on eating in vacation mode, a pound or two goes to 6 or 7 in a week, so I don't make that mistake any more.

Spring is coming, shorts and bathing suits are coming. Let's all get ready!!!

Hello to all the other Donalds. Hope you're all enjoying the weekend!!

You know that’s how I was able to cut back on overeating late when I got home from work—just having a glass of wine and a small snack really worked for me. Good for you with the soup. I made some cream of broccoli last week- it was pretty good

I didn't see one Bowie song on your list, Susan. What's up with that?
Well—Coming Home is a song someone wrote as a follow up to Bowie's continuing saga of Major Tom.

Todays quotd is a simple one-- folllow up to Mikamah--There's a lot of people on here in the process of losing weight who wouldn't want to spend a lot on their suits this summer if the still have a way to go. I know I bought a gorgeous new suit a few years back and it almost killed me to give it to Goodwill just a few months later. There's also a lot of us going on cruises, vacations, Disneyland/World so we do want fairly decent suits. Where do you buy yours?

I had good luck at Ross this year. I'd been getting them at Costco, but this year they only have one pieces. Target marks them down fairly early and I have seen brand new suits left over from last season from Target at Goodwill.
Nice and sunny here-- have a great Sunday!

So sorry I have not been on the thread lately. I had a horrible cold last week. I am back and ready to begin this week anew. I did not lose anything but I did not gain either.

Good luck to everyone this week.

:wave2: I did great at the concert we volunteered at last night. Instead of the really wonderful buffet they had in the past we got really nasty crappy "box lunch" of a warm soggy turkey wrap:eek: and a bag of chips. Not even a crappy cookie thrown in. And I am really glad I brought my own water because they ran out of the promised drinks not long after we got there so we never got any water or soda. I did end up buying sodas (and dessert for the girls) at the concession stand so they could have something to drink and I had a diet coke. I ate about 1/4 of the wrap after I cut off the huge amount of extra tortilla and then decided the calories (and possible food poisoning) weren't worth it. I did eat the chips because I was hungry. I had brought a small snack so I also had some peanuts and some apple slices with cheese. Great meal for an 8 hour event. :sad2:

Not sure if we will volunteer again next year. The issues with the food and drinks were just a small part of the larger problems they had with overall organization of the entire event and really not managing the volunteers well this year. They had too many and not enough for them to do, and they had absolutely no instructions for us. We were told by a very frantic contact person where to go and the basics "sell raffle tickets, take door tickets, stand at this table" etc but no specifics that we really needed to know, and there was no one to ask questions to and when I tried to ask I got brushed off. It is very embarrassing to be put in the position of being a main point of contact with the public attending and not be able to answer any of their basic questions-- and if I had paid the money they did to attend I would have been pissed because "no one knew what was going on".

I was also a bit put out by the fact that not one person with the organization (it is a non profit that does some great things) bothered to even acknowledge us, much less maybe a thank you this year. I don't volunteer to get a thank you but when the organization director (CEO) repeatedly walks by you and 4 young ladies that have given up their Sat. night to help your organization you would think that he could at least smile at you, maybe a simple hello or "how are you?" or a "thanks for being here" instead of pretending you don't exist. I did see that he had time to talk to the Hooters girls that were there in their "uniforms" to help out for about an hour:sad2:. I have organized many things and have always made sure to personally thank every one of my volunteers and be sure that they are being taken care of, either by myself or a person designated to do that, and that they all know clearly what to do and have a job. We do get to see the concert for free so I will let DD decide if she wants to go next year (not music I enjoy so I stay outside the performance area). She and her friend really loved seeing the concert so that did make it all worthwhile. :)

Going Ice Skating with the family and DD's girl scout troop tonight. Well they skate, I watch. I am considering dropping them off and then running to the gym for an hour. Have to see what else is going on. I may go and be the photographer.

Lovetoscrap:
What’s really fun is when you forget a clean bra. I can go sans underwear no problem, I’ll wear dirty socks— but there’s no way I’m putting a sweaty bra back on… It helped me to organize stuff like you would pack a suitcase-moisturizer, shampoo, shaver, deodorant all go in the same Ziploc bag All those hotel moisturizers and shampoos that hang out in the bathroom drawers finally come in handy. Be sure and bring extra batteries for your ipod if you have the kind that needs them.
Yep, the clean bra was one of the things that I went back for! Couldn't do the no undies thing, that is one thing I just have to have so I bring a clean pair of those too Since I am at a no frills place I have to bring my own towels and everything which made me look like I had packed a suitcase! But I have actually ended up just coming home and not showering there. I think I will keep 2 bags packed, the shower there bag and the run over and come right home bag.

I was glad I had grabbed my Ipod because I planned to watch the TV's but the first bike I got on the TV sound thing wasn't working at all so I switched and the 2nd kept cutting in and out so I have up and used my Ipod. Mental note now to avoid both of those bikes!

Well I CAN contribute a 5.2 pound loss over the week - can't promise for next week at the rate I'm going . .
That is an absolutely awesome loss! :cheer2:

Posted another small loss this week. Heading to the gym for an hour of spin class. Really need it after the work week - can you say HECTIC!?!?
:cheer2: Great job!

1) Have a glass of milk or a dairy substitute.
2) Read something you find interesting and/or enjoyable for about 10 minutes.
3) Wear something special.
I do that with the DIS every day! :surfweb:

Not only did I wear something special I went out and bought it! It was just a blue v neck tshirt but it is special because it was a size smaller than I have been buying and didn't look like a tent on me!:woohoo:

Down one pound.

And I totally admit that I could work a LOT harder.
:cheer2: Any loss is great. And 1-2 pounds a week is very healthy so that one pound is a sign that you are doing things right.

Glad that you had a good workout! :thumbsup2 Your body gets stronger while is repairs itself during rest -- sounds like you are doing a great job of mixing things up!
The trainer I met with the first day really emphasized the need for rest. He said the 3 keys are Exercise, Nutrition and Rest. He suggested that I only go 3 days a week and have a day of rest between each one. He made me a schedule of M: Cardio/Upperbody, W: Cardio/lower body F: Cardo only. I think it is a nice conservative program for a beginner that is in really bad shape and doesn't like to workout. I really appreciated that he was very sensitive to my needs. I think a lot of trainers would have suggested a much more time and labor intensive program. I will try to go as often as I can with a goal of 3x per week.

QUOTD: Sat /19
What's your favorite music to work out to?
So funny you should ask that because I was just thinking about posting about work out music after listening to my Ipod while working out on Friday.
I
I'm like you, I have a very eclectic mix for my workouts.
I had no idea how eclectic I am! I don't really use my Ipod much, mostly to listen to the DIS Podcasts and I haven't even done that in a really long time. So I set my Ipod to shuffle and got busy pedaling. Started off with a song from Footloose, then came an Inspirational Worship song. The next thing that came up was the Water Buffalo song from Silly Songs with Larry (Veggie Tales)!:rotfl2: I totally forgot that I had that on there! Then came another 80's song and after that Jiminy Cricket doing "I'm No Fool" and ended with another 2 80's songs. I may need to check my Ipod albums and see what other surprising things I have on there!

. The pizza smelled SO GOOD... but I stuck firm and I am proud of myself.
:cheer2: Way to resist and come up with a great solution! Your pizza sounds wonderful. :) I actually saw a recipe for one on a sandwich thin with mushrooms and spinach (my favorites) and ricotta the other day that I really want to try. But now I can't remember where I saw it:rolleyes: Going to have to check my history and see if I can figure it out!

Why ohhh why cant I seem to stop eating junk! I certainly wasnt the winner this week! but I am ok with that...try again next week to have a better week
Out, out darn Junk Food! Clear it out of the house and find other places to be when it is around outside of the house.

First thanks to all of you who have sent PD to get the theater done. Yesterday they finished the carpeting. the seats should go in this Thursday and Friday.

Happy to hear that it looks like things are coming together. I can only imagine how uneasy it must feel not to have the theater ready. I would be a panic filled wreck! Sorry to hear about the lack of volunteers. That really stinks. I hope today was better.

One week from today is the Princess! Some of our group will be done by now and some of us (like me) will still be out there. Weather is looking pretty nice for us.

Have a great day DONALDS! :donald:
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: Good luck to all of those running the Princess! We want to see lots of photos when you get back!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

LTS- Why weren't you in my head the other night when I shared a Molten chocolate Lava cake at chilis with my ds?????? ;)
That was probably the night I was wallowing in self pity with a box of GS cookies. :sad2:
Pjlla:
. I made some cream of broccoli last week- it was pretty good
Do you have a good low fat/cal recipe for cream of broccoli soup? I would love to find one for my family.
Todays quotd is a simple one-- folllow up to Mikamah--There's a lot of people on here in the process of losing weight who wouldn't want to spend a lot on their suits this summer if the still have a way to go. Where do you buy yours?
I am fortunate (maybe?) that I think I actually have in my closet, swim suits that will work for the next year and probably more. Some of them are still brand new. We used to live near a place that is one of the US swim suit manufacturers and they had an outlet attached to their warehouse. Incredible prices on suits, some were seconds but most really didn't seem to have problems. Used to get the girls Disney suits there! I bought several for myself in the style I like before we moved and they go down about 3-4 sizes from where I am.

Hi everyone!
I hope you all are having a great weekend. I have been so busy lately that I haven't even gotten the chance to read along on here, let alone post...sorry about that.

Unfortunately, I didn't post a loss this week. I ended the week with a .6 lb gain :sad1: Last week I was expecting a maintain and I actually lost, so I guess I am OK with the gain, but I have to work on getting back on track so it doesn't happen again. The hard thing is I know work isn't going to be slowing down any time soon and I have been out of town this weekend and I will be again next weekend, so I have my work cut out for me.

This weekend, my BF and I decided to go to Denver for the weekend. We booked a non-refundable hotel room a few weeks ago, so the trip was locked in. I think I mentioned it before, but I work for an airline and I fly for free as long as there are open seats on the plane. Well, on Friday morning, there were no seats on the plane to DEN :headache: and the whole day was oversold. So, we looked at all of our options and decided to fly to Lincoln, NE and drive to Denver. That flight worked great, and we made the drive in just over 6 hours, so all was good :thumbsup2 Well, yesterday I was looking at facebook and saw that some of my friends were talking about the weather. Turns out, Minneapolis was now forecast to get a foot of snow on Sunday :scared1: (when I last checked the weather on Thurs night we were supposed to get some, but it wasn't going to be an all-out storm) All of the flights from Lincoln to Minneapolis were pre-cancelled for Sunday, so now, we are stuck here for another day. Hopefully we will get back tomorrow, but I'm not sure how it will all work out. :confused3 We were hoping this would be a quick, cheap trip, but it hasn't turned out that way...originally, we weren't even going to rent a car, so we spent an extra $180 on that and we had to get a hotel room for an extra night for $70, plus food and gas...we are going to be easily $300 over our original butdget  Luckily I just got a big bonus at work, but I already had plans for most of that money. I should have known better than to agree to a trip to Denver. This is 4th time that I have been stuck here for at least a day longer than I originally planned :rotfl2:

Well, that is my big adventure. I hope you all have a great week...wish me luck in getting back on track!

beth

Well, it certainly hasn't been my best week. My weight has remained the same.

DH & I rejoined the gym on Monday, 2/14. By Wednesday, I had pulled something in my right shoulder and was in so much pain I couldn't even drive my car, which is a stick shift. Friday, I broke down and went to see the doctor. He said that I had some tears in the muscle in my right shoulder. He gave my a round of cortisone and pain RX. Told me to stay away from the gym for a week and then go back with the lightest weights -- to concentrate on reps rather that weight. Tomorrow I plan to go back to just walk the treadmill and maybe try a few minutes on the elliptical.

Disney 1990 - Team Donald

Keep those weigh ins coming!

Team DONALD is currently up by 4.1 pounds so it's still anyone's ball game!

For those of you that are struggling: TAKE A DEEP BREATH! Grab a LARGE glass of water! And say I can do this! I am going to make it through! Then read all through the threads to get inspired once again! Look to your coaches and anyone here that inspires you! PM them for words of inspiration and encouragement! We have all been there at one time!

Even ME! Today for some reason I craved lots of salt and sugar! I made some spicy dip that I love and had a drink! It's WAY TOO early for PMS so I guess it was just my body asking for a reward for the hard work it did all week!

Reward yourself but don't overdo it! Any suggestions on rewards, just ask! It doesn't always have to be food: Maybe a hot bath or a few minutes of quiet time!

The most important thing is for you to feel good!

My one saviour: Green tea! I love my Earl Grey Green Tea! I had two cups this morning! I'll probably have two more tonight!

:grouphug:to you all!!!!!

Welcome to Day 4, Monday 2/21

1) Have a 3rd serving of protein.
2) Do something "Goofy."
3) Have some snuggle time with your kids, etc. or pile up some pillows and take a power nap. (OR both!)

Have a great week everyone!

Good Monday morning Team Donald.

It is supposed to be snowing outside. I have been afraid to look. I need to clean the frid since it is garbage collection day and then I need to plan food for the week and go grocery shopping since I have the day off.

I will be back at the local high school tonight for a couple of hours to work on costumes and then to a makeup yoga class.

Don't forget to send in your weight to tigger813 and your HH points to cclovesdis. Include your team name in the subject.

Will be back later with some replies.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Good morning Donalds!

I wanted to remind everyone who will be traveling this upcoming weekend that Friday is a WIN day, in case you want to get your measurements in early.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

Congratulations to all our HH winners this week! :cool1:

Lately I just order my suits from JC Penney. They have to have a lot of coverage so they aren't hard to choose. I tried on every bathing suit in my drawer this week packing for WDW. My suits sure fit a lot more comfortably now and look nicer. :goodvibes I even found a Miracle Suit that I am sure I paid way too much for but it looked pretty nice. I don't need another suit this year but next year I'll be going to the store to try some cute suits on. :thumbsup2

So sorry I have not been on the thread lately. I had a horrible cold last week. I am back and ready to begin this week anew. I did not lose anything but I did not gain either.

Sorry that you have the crud. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! :flower3:

I may need to check my Ipod albums and see what other surprising things I have on there!

Ah Veggie Tales! I so miss those days! I still have some Junie B Jones and Geranimo Stilton on my iPhone -- DS is now in sixth grade. :rotfl:

Hope that you got back okay in the storm, Beth! :flower3: I have to fly through Denver on Wednesday. Your story makes me :scared1:. But I stay on the same plane so it won't be too bad. That plane has to get to Orlando sooner or later and I will be on it! :lmao:

Sorry you hurt your shoulder. Take it easy and let it heal! :flower3:

Good Monday morning Team Donald.

It is supposed to be snowing outside. I have been afraid to look. I need to clean the frid since it is garbage collection day and then I need to plan food for the week and go grocery shopping since I have the day off.

I will be back at the local high school tonight for a couple of hours to work on costumes and then to a makeup yoga class.

Don't forget to send in your weight to tigger813 and your HH points to cclovesdis. Include your team name in the subject.

Will be back later with some replies.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Hi Dona! Hope it's not too snowy out there! :goodvibes

Good morning Donalds!

I wanted to remind everyone who will be traveling this upcoming weekend that Friday is a WIN day, in case you want to get your measurements in early.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks for the reminder! :flower3: I'm holding out one more day for my early weigh in.

The weather is looking pretty warm in Orlando this week. It will be a welcome change! I wish I was leaving now because I feel strong and ready. :hippie:

Have a great day DONALDS! :donald:

We definitely need to touch base. We are probably leaving mid day the 5th to fly down. The race is 8:30 pm on Saturday and we are leaving WDW mid day or early evening Sunday.

Did you decide if you are coming to the Cape?

What race?

Nope, I decided against the Cape crop. I would LOVE to do it, but I don't want to spend the $$ now that I am heading to Disney in May. But keep me informed for the future!

Oh me, Oh my. Just got the save the date for my 20th HS reunion. Not sure how I feel about it.
Do I go? If I do I need to bust my butt to get in shape!!!

UGh, the pressure!!

Wow... that would definitely be SOME pressure! How long do you have? And WOW... you are so young! I'm closer to my 30 year than my 20 year!

: Pamela- So excited for you booking your trip with dd.

Not sure where DS and I will be heading this year. I think it will definitely be a camping weekend, but I was thinking about heading down to the Cape... way down towards the end. He's never been there.... but maybe that won't be his thing. He LOVED OOB and I'm sure would be happy to return there.

Hey.... ONE-derland will be waiting here for you when you return if you don't quite make it. You've done GREAT this challenge. You should be so proud.

I'm so glad you have a definite PLAN to get right back on track after your trip. That is such a big KEY to success.

Pjlla:

You know that’s how I was able to cut back on overeating late when I got home from work—just having a glass of wine and a small snack really worked for me. Good for you with the soup. I made some cream of broccoli last week- it was pretty good

Well... the wine was nice, but definitely not worth the calories. I pretty much gave up all alcohol when I started this journey 3 years ago. I only have it now on special occasions.... for the most part it JUST ISN'T WORTH the calories! And I know that my overall health is better for it as well. I was never a big drinker, but I certainly enjoyed my weekend beer and wine occasionally.

It wasn't a CONSCIOUS plan, to give up the alcohol... it just kind of "evolved" from trying to eat lighter and healthier. And I don't really miss it.

Okay.... QOTD: In the past I've always bought cheapo Walmart and Sears suits.... I never looked decent in ANYTHING so why bother to spend any money, right? But when I had lost the majority of my weight, I splurged on a Land's End 2 piece suit (NOT a bikini) and I LOVED it. But by the following summer it was much too big. I bought another one, same style but different color. And now THAT ONE is too big also! Not sure if I will just limp along with them for now or if I will splurge AGAIN this summer. I am within a few pounds of my goal (and have been for MONTHS now), so I feel "safe" spending the money. I only need one. I'm not a big "fashion" girl, so as long as I have ONE that fits good, I'll be happy.

I did see that he had time to talk to the Hooters girls that were there in their "uniforms" to help out for about an hour:sad2:.

Sorry that the volunteer experience wasn't so great. It is SO frustrating to try to be a part of something like that and it just ends up bad. But I had to :lmao: about the Hooters comment!

:Not only did I wear something special I went out and bought it! It was just a blue v neck tshirt but it is special because it was a size smaller than I have been buying and didn't look like a tent on me!:woohoo:

GLad you took the time to get yourself something new that makes you feel good!

:

:I had no idea how eclectic I am!

I'm cracking up about the Veggie Tales song. We got Netflix at Christmas time and the kids (ages 15 1/2 and just turned 13) have BOTH watched Veggie Tales movies on the Wii! It cracks me up! Brings back their childhoods I guess. We gave away all of the Veggie Tales movies (VHS) ages ago to my twin nieces. Hope they enjoyed them.

It was delicious.... and MORE SO because I knew it was HEALTHIER and LIGHTER than the take-and-bake pizza that DD wanted.

I hope you were able to make the most of your extra vacation day(s) and not worry too much about the $$.

Bummer! That is really lousy. Hope it recovers quickly.

Good Monday morning Team Donald.

Hey.... I didn't hear how your visit with DS went. How was his hair?

Happy (snowy) Monday Morning friends! Some of the schools around here are on February vacation, but not our school. Most of DD's swim friends are off this week, so she won't be able to go skiing and stuff with them. oh well.

DD had a GREAT day yesterday. It started a bit frustrating with three just "okay" swims. But she did a time trial last night trying to make a YMCA New Englands time and she came within .09 sec of the cut time. It was STILL a best time for her, but so frustrating. Her coach gave her 5 minutes to rest and allowed a SECOND time trial (rather unheard of).... and she made the cut time with a bit to spare!!!!! (cut off was 27.80.... she got a 27.65!!) She is absolutely OVER THE MOON about this!! She was actually so happy she CRIED before she even got out of the pool. I am SO happy for her. She made YMCA New Englands last year for two events, but she has aged up since then and didn't make any cuts this year.... that was disappointing for her. But now.....:woohoo:

DS decided to be the FIRST in the family to get a cold this winter! But it seems pretty minor. He rested most of the weekend and headed off to school this morning. It is Spirit week for his school, so that makes it a bit extra fun.

Laundry is pretty well caught up. Dishes are done and kitchen is straightened up. Living room and dining room are picked up. I'm gonna run the vacuume around, hit the TM and then get to work at my scrapping table. DH is going to attend today's robotics meeting and DD is skipping Rainbow Girls tonight, since they are rehearsing for an event she won't be attending. So I am FREE for the rest of the day! Just need to figure out what's up for supper and I'm all set.

DH is up, so the treadmill is available.... so I'm off!.................P

This has not been a good week food wise.. sigh. Why is it when I am loosing motivation all the food at work is good junk food?!? We had cookies, ice cream sundaes and cupcakes all in the last 3 days and I gave in to all of them :( Today IS a new day and already have my last chance and level 2 of 30 day done- going to get 30 min of yoga meltdown in and then off to work...
