TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

This has not been a good week food wise.. sigh. Why is it when I am loosing motivation all the food at work is good junk food?!? We had cookies, ice cream sundaes and cupcakes all in the last 3 days and I gave in to all of them :( Today IS a new day and already have my last chance and level 2 of 30 day done- going to get 30 min of yoga meltdown in and then off to work...

Em, are you going to be able to make it to the WISH meet Saturday afternoon at All Star Sports food court at 4:00 pm? Here is the link http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39563046&postcount=1
Aren't you doing the 5K on Saturday? Good luck! princess:

Hi everyone!
I hope you all are having a great weekend. I have been so busy lately that I haven't even gotten the chance to read along on here, let alone post...sorry about that.

Unfortunately, I didn't post a loss this week. I ended the week with a .6 lb gain :sad1: Last week I was expecting a maintain and I actually lost, so I guess I am OK with the gain, but I have to work on getting back on track so it doesn't happen again. The hard thing is I know work isn't going to be slowing down any time soon and I have been out of town this weekend and I will be again next weekend, so I have my work cut out for me.

This weekend, my BF and I decided to go to Denver for the weekend. We booked a non-refundable hotel room a few weeks ago, so the trip was locked in. I think I mentioned it before, but I work for an airline and I fly for free as long as there are open seats on the plane. Well, on Friday morning, there were no seats on the plane to DEN :headache: and the whole day was oversold. So, we looked at all of our options and decided to fly to Lincoln, NE and drive to Denver. That flight worked great, and we made the drive in just over 6 hours, so all was good :thumbsup2 Well, yesterday I was looking at facebook and saw that some of my friends were talking about the weather. Turns out, Minneapolis was now forecast to get a foot of snow on Sunday :scared1: (when I last checked the weather on Thurs night we were supposed to get some, but it wasn't going to be an all-out storm) All of the flights from Lincoln to Minneapolis were pre-cancelled for Sunday, so now, we are stuck here for another day. Hopefully we will get back tomorrow, but I'm not sure how it will all work out. :confused3 We were hoping this would be a quick, cheap trip, but it hasn't turned out that way...originally, we weren't even going to rent a car, so we spent an extra $180 on that and we had to get a hotel room for an extra night for $70, plus food and gas...we are going to be easily $300 over our original butdget  Luckily I just got a big bonus at work, but I already had plans for most of that money. I should have known better than to agree to a trip to Denver. This is 4th time that I have been stuck here for at least a day longer than I originally planned :rotfl2:

Well, that is my big adventure. I hope you all have a great week...wish me luck in getting back on track!

beth

Well--it'll be something you'll always remember anyway.

Well, it certainly hasn't been my best week. My weight has remained the same.

DH & I rejoined the gym on Monday, 2/14. By Wednesday, I had pulled something in my right shoulder and was in so much pain I couldn't even drive my car, which is a stick shift. Friday, I broke down and went to see the doctor. He said that I had some tears in the muscle in my right shoulder. He gave my a round of cortisone and pain RX. Told me to stay away from the gym for a week and then go back with the lightest weights -- to concentrate on reps rather that weight. Tomorrow I plan to go back to just walk the treadmill and maybe try a few minutes on the elliptical.

Disney 1990 - Team Donald

Ouch--do you stretch? I see people jump right on the machines without stretching all the time. It takes me more time but I always really stretch.

Lovestoscrap:
Do you have a good low fat/cal recipe for cream of broccoli soup? I would love to find one for my family.
No—sorry, I just had the big bag of broccoli from Costco and some cheese slices that needed to be used so I looked up something on the internet—I didn’t remember to save it either. I have some of that broccolli left, carrots, peppers and mushrooms so I think I'll make stirfry with a tri tip I brought home a few days ago tonight. I've been on the pill for a week now and already my appetite has improved so I need to start watching what I eat again. Party's over lol. The things are really working fast--my bras are already getting tighter.

QUOTD: Monday 21:
So what's your favorite color? It's another simple non food thing that makes you happy.

I used to watch clean house a lot and the decorators always seemed to make a point about the people favorite color and used it accordingly as I assume it has effect on your mood. Taking this into consideration I used to think my favorite color was green and tried to work around that in my life but have given up and exasperatingly have discovered it really is pink. Lol. I know my favorite colors were pink and purple when I was little so I think this is right now-- I'm not fighting it. I've just never been a 'girly' girl.

What race?

Nope, I decided against the Cape crop. I would LOVE to do it, but I don't want to spend the $$ now that I am heading to Disney in May. But keep me informed for the future!

Wow... that would definitely be SOME pressure! How long do you have? And WOW... you are so young! I'm closer to my 30 year than my 20 year!

The Expedition Everest 5K is that weekend. It's a race, and obstacle course and a scavenger hunt all in one. It's Saturday night starting at 8:30.

Darn, gonna miss you at the Cape! But yeah, I'd skip it to for Disney but I'm already paid up.

My reunion is October 15th. I still don't know if I want to go. I don't even talk to anyone from HS.
LOL I'm not that young!

Hello Donalds!:donald:

Gonna try to catch up here quickly since it's almost bedtime for me here!

We had a GREAT weekend in Paris and DH & DS were very cooperative with my commando style touring. They are not always so helpful with this but I think they realized we needed to move around quickly if we wanted to take advantage of the short time we would be there. The weather was cold and windy all weekend and rainy all day Saturday so that stunk but otherwise we had a blast. We are already planning what we would do next time we can go. Since we've now all seen the major museums and monuments, next time we can be a little more relaxed and do some things off the beaten path. Loved our hotel and we could stick our head out the window, look right and see the Eiffel Tower at night:lovestruc

I used my Friday morning weigh-in since I was up .8 this morning. We did eat some very decadent things over the weekend but I honestly thought all the walking would have taken care of the food but oh well, I can take off .8 this week. Came back to FREEZING temps and light snow here in Germany. Also, our heat was not working again! (we had problems last Fall) and the hot water was not working either. I used this as an excuse to miss my German class today and the PTA meeting today! I was very lazy today and just watched some shows on my DVR. I think I could have gone out in public w/o a shower but my hair really needed washing & styling badly so I HAD to stay in;)....finally got heat back about 4:00 today and should have hot water in the morning. I have a pile of dishes to wash because our dishwasher is also NOT WORKING! Our rental contract says we have to pay for all appliance repairs up to 500 euros:scared1: It quit working about a week ago and DH (mechanical engineer) keeps tinkering with it and thinking maybe he can fix it. I told him to hold off calling anyone; I really don't mind washing dishes by hand.

Melissa - glad you and Zoe are feeling better.

LTS - way to go on the gym membership! I like your trainer's comments about resting the body. I took that to heart today:rotfl: Sorry to hear of your bad experience with the volunteer event. It seems to me every volunteer event I'm involved in lately has awful leaders that don't do anything and don't have things properly figured out beforehand. It can be so frustruating!

Buffy - great news on the mammo! You ARE young if you're just getting an invite to your 20th reunion!!! You should go, October gives you plenty of time to shape up. Sounds like you are going to hit the 180's ahead of me; I hope to join you there soon!

Dona - your evening in NYC sounds fantastic, glad it was fun. Glad the theater is coming together just in time. How was your visit with DS and how was the haircut?

Christine - Congrats on getting under 250:banana:

Pamela - You finally got the scale to move! That's what I did (eat MORE) to get it to move for me a couple of weeks ago! WTG resisting that pizza:cool1: I know you must be so proud of your DD!:cutie:

LisaH - Wow, almost ***50*** pounds gone, that must feel so good! I hope to be there on day:goodvibes

Wickey's friend - 7 pounds is awesome:woohoo:

Beth - hope you made it home from Denver finally:hippie: I think it sounds a little exciting to be snowed in somewhere!

Julie - thanks again for being our coach last week!

Susan - thanks for coaching this week!
some good questions already!

QOTD:
2/18 I don't have a lot of health problems, just my feet problems and achy joints from time to time. I can already tell my feet and joints have improved greatly since losing 27 pounds. I was really having a problem rising from a seated position before I lost some weight, I had to give myself a big heave-ho to get up and my first few steps would be stiff. That's all gone now unless I've been seated for a long time. I'm excited to see how much better it will get after losing more weight. I was able to walk all day in Paris but I was so tired every night and my feet and calves ached. I know I will keep gaining more endurance as I lose more.

2/19 I like mostly pop and dance type music to work out to. I would never show anyone my play list, it totally does not go with me. It's all those songs that have bad words and derogatory lyrics to women. Those songs that have "shawty" in them.....I am way too old to listen to that type of music but it keeps me going when I work out. I also have what we call in the South "shag" music or "beach" music, old songs from the 60's and some country music too. Lisa, I love that song "So close" from Enchanted. I played that CD on my birthday last week, love all those songs!

2/20 I have 2 bathing suits, one that is way too big and one that's just a little too small. Hoping I can wear the smaller one soon. I have a problem covering my big matronly bosom in most suits. I don't want it to look like I want it hanging out there but it usually does! I like 2 pc suits with a cute short skirt on the bottom, I think that's my best style.

2/21 I do love pink in all its shades from soft to hot but I also love black and brown too. Love pink & black together and also blue and brown too.

Well, I think I am all caught up now. The thread has really slowed down alot. Hope I didn't miss anyone. Lisa and Kathy, good luck this weekend, can't wait to hear how everything went.princess: Thanks again to everyone for the bday wishes. It's hard to get back to reality again.........:laundy:

Hi Donalds! Jumping in to say hello. DS and I have had a fairly productive day off. We went grocery shopping at 8:30, hit the mall for a bit, went to the chiropractor then came home so he could nap. I cooked tomorrow's dinner in the slow cooker all day and tonight's while DS was asleep. I also rolled all DH's coins, did 4 loads of laundry, and got a little work done. I got myself a new snack for work. I'm usually not a big fan of Chobani, but a friend of mine found a small 4 pack of mixed fruit Chobani in the kids yogurt section and I actually like it. I figure it'll be a better alternative than my usualy yogurt this week.

Tonight I can log on at midnight to book my Palo reservations for my cruise in May, so everyone cross your fingers. I'm only silver and the cruise is sold out, so I may be one of those people getting on the boat ASAP and heading to the D Lounge to book Palo, but maybe I'll luck out tonight. Let's hope so.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and has a good vacation if they're traveling this week.

He has the whole week off, and we leave on wednesday which is looking sunny and 36 degrees!!! I've been so worried about snow. We come back tuesday the 1st since it was so much cheaper to fly after school vacation. Reminds me I need to write a note to his teacher this morning. How's your week going? Bummer you have to work tomorrow, it's supposed to be so warm. I'm so excited even though I'll be at work all day too.

Oh good, I heard that some towns took away this week, so I'm glad Danvers didn't. Have a wonderful trip and tell us all about it when you get back. Maybe most of the snow will disappear while you're gone. :goodvibes

Thank you all my dear WISH friends for your birthday greetings!

Happy belated birthday Shawn :cool1:

Less than 2 hours to send in your weigh ins!!!!!

TEAM DONALD has an 8 pound lead! Every pound and ounce counts!!!!

Hope you are all enjoying your day!

Hello team!

Checking in. Although we are ahead by 8 lbs, which is GREAT!, I have to admit that I did not add to the loss this week. I maintained this week again, D'oh! O well, I really did exercise and eat healthy but it is my TOTM so i think maybe that has something to do with it, at least I can hope, and I have been stressed out as I have been trying to find a job and had to go to mediation on Friday for lawsuit! Ugh

:thumbsup2 I hope next week to see a loss. Just got home from a 20 min jog and walk and might do kettle bell later. I will admit that my TOTM has gotten me a little over the weekend as far as wanting to eat everything in sight and I did have a few "treats" (some Doritos and a couple cookies) but nothing too monumentally bad so that's good I guess.

Here's hoping for a healthy week and a loss for next weeks weigh in! Hope everyone is doing well!

Today was a good day! worked out for an hour, ate well (all day!) and went to produce junction today and got lots of fruits and veggies! So happy...now to wokr on getting up at 6am and life will be much better

Welcome to Healthy Habits Pamper Week!

My name is CC (short for Christina) and I will be your Healthy Habits coach for BL 11. I love the BL challenges and Healthy Habits has helped me significantly in achieving many of my goals.

Some Background Information: Thanks to donac (Dona-hostess of Team Donald) and jenanderson for their amazing help so I know how to coach! I couldn’t do this without seeing them in action previously. I will be continuing the prizes that Jen started.

Here’s How Healthy Habits Pamper Week Works: Each day there will be three "Habits" for you to complete. You do not need to keep track of your points and there will not be a winner. This is simply for your enjoyment!

Welcome to Day 5, Tuesday 2/22

1) Have 1-2 serving of healthy oils or a serving of nuts.
2) Pour yourself a tall glass of water and watch something mindless on TV.
3) Exercise for 20 minutes.

QUOTD: Monday 21:
So what's your favorite color? It's another simple non food thing that makes you happy.
Pink. Bright or light, lots of my shirts are pink, and my down vest is hot pink, with hot pink gloves. And I'll be sporting a magenta sparkleskirt with a pink shirt and pink tiara on sunday! Denim blue woiuld be a close second.

Fun question.

Good evening team Donald! The team is doing great to be ahead by 8 pounds this week. I had no contribution with my .8 pound gain. I've let a little TOM and pretrip stress let my guard down, but today I realized i've been doing so well, and need to continue to fuel my body with the right foods so I will have the energy I need on race day, so I did reign it in, and get back on track.

Got out to finish all the errands i needed to do today and then took michael to swim at the Y for a while. He's painting his pinewood derby car now since the final workshop is the day after we get back. He packed his suitcase today, and I'm pretty much ready. After work tomorrow, I'll pack mine, and we'll be good to go.

I just want to say thank you to all of you for being here and for the support and inspiration I get from you all every day. You guys are the best.

I know I should go but I don't even talk to anyone from HS anymore. Seriously I won't even get Facebook for fear they may track me down.
I don't know. I'm sure I don't have to RSVP until at least the end of summer, they don't even have a venue yet.
I hope to be in the 180's by next Friday. But I feel like I'm losing my way, I've had very little patience this week and it's coming out in food.

Today was a good day! worked out for an hour, ate well (all day!) and went to produce junction today and got lots of fruits and veggies! So happy...now to wokr on getting up at 6am and life will be much better

Great job!!!

just want to say good luck to all the Princess Runners this week!!! Stay safe, stay hydrated and kick some mileage butt!!!!

:wave2: Not a lot of time tonight but wanted to check in and say Hi. We went to Kohl's today and I had to return a few things that I bought in the fall to wear for work. I haven't worked so they all still had the tags on and are now too big! I was really kind of bummed because I really really liked one of the outfits.

QUOTD: Monday 21:
So what's your favorite color? It's another simple non food thing that makes you happy.

I really enjoy a lot of different colors depending on the application. For my clothes I like dark pink, purple, peach and red. My home decor has a lot of green and blue and burgundy and I love my newly painted yellow kitchen and dining room. I think the one unifying thing is that I like bright, bold colors. Fits my bright bold personality!

Lovestoscrap:
No—sorry, I just had the big bag of broccoli from Costco and some cheese slices that needed to be used so I looked up something on the internet—I didn’t remember to save it either.
As luck would have it I was looking for a different recipe last night and came across this: http://www.food.com/recipe/quick-creamy-broccoli-soup-37705 and made it for lunch today and it was quite good. It is going into my menu rotation.

Pjlla: Saw this today and thought of you. Trying to decide if I want to make one: http://craftsandsutch.blogspot.com/2011/02/menu-organizer-and-recipe-holder.html Pretty cool looking!

Glad to hear you had a great trip. I am jealous of your view for sure :cloud9: Have any good crepes?

We really liked the hotel, the location was perfect and the staff was very nice. It was a very small hotel in the Rue Cler area. We never did stop for crepes but I thought about your Nutella/Banana/Grand Marnier crepe! We did have the french toast and hot chocolate at Laduree's Sunday morning - heavenly!

Good morning Donalds! Trying to summon up some energy to face the day. I've got a mound of dishes and clothes to wash and I need to get back on the elliptical. Have not exercised since last Wednesday except for all the walking we did in Paris. The gloomy weather here is not helping any! I'm going to have to dig deep today to get motivated:cheer2:

Hope you all have a great day:wizard:

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

Keeping my fingers crossed that we held on to our lead and beat TEAM MICKEY this week.

QUOTD: Monday 21:
So what's your favorite color? It's another simple non food thing that makes you happy.

Blue is my favorite color. I don't use it much in decorating -- we use fall colors for that -- but I do use it for clothes.

Thanks for coaching this week, Susan! :flower3: You've had some great questions!

My reunion is October 15th. I still don't know if I want to go. I don't even talk to anyone from HS.
LOL I'm not that young!

I'm going to be the contrarian here, Buffy, and say don't go unless you really want to or really want to see some of the people there. It's why I stay away from Facebook, too, if I wanted to be in touch I would have by now, especially considering my next reunion will be 35. :rolleyes1 Haven't been to one yet and don't feel like I've missed a thing.

There is a really good basic crepe recipe on allrecipes.com. It's not the same as having someone do it for you but a suitable substitute.

My reunion is October 15th. I still don't know if I want to go. I don't even talk to anyone from HS.
LOL I'm not that young!

Sure you might have fun but I have skipped mine everytime. Had our 20th a year and half ago and with being on Facebook I had all these people reach out to me and I friended them. I soon realized I have nothing in common w/ these folks and after all the reunion stuff I ended up de-friended almost all of them. I have 3-4 great friends that I had in HS that I still keep in touch with and that's all I need. I went to 1 casual get together party for the reunion and soon realized it was not for me. Now I had 900+ in my graduating class so you sort of did not really know most people anyway :goodvibes even when in school with them.

Tonight I can log on at midnight to book my Palo reservations for my cruise in May, so everyone cross your fingers.

Hope you get your ressie!!

I don;t know what the deal is!! I had such a great start my first week and this last week I can't stop snacking :sad2:. I have not had a single clean day of eating. I think it's my schedule is so off w/ all these sick kids. My DS8 came home from school and went to bed then threw up in the middle of the night!! Over a week of 1 or another kid home sick and I can;t get anything done. Oh well. I'm just hoping not to gain this week.

DS8 had a school fundraiser dinner tonight. I'm sorry he's sick but I'm glad I'm out of the dinner - I was stressing about eating more off plan today.

 Get moving Donalds!!

I also have what we call in the South "shag" music or "beach" music, old songs from the 60's
I love shag—we have an oldies station here that would air a syndicated show once a week and I’d listen at work but they had to quit running it for some reason. I need to tune that in more on the internet—there’s some good stations on live 365.

Loves to scrap—thanks, I put that in my recipe folder.(cream of broccolli)

Was just sitting here staring at my many vitamins this am that I’m taking with my coffee and wondered what everyone else took. Got very sick of supplements this last week with my UTI –which is finally better now. Seriously though it’s very important to get the right kind of nutrition when you are dieting.

Quotd—Tues 22nd:
What vitamins/supplements if any do you take daily or at least once a week?

On days I work early I take the Costco energy vitamin packs, a multi, flax or omega if I haven’t put flax on or in anything for breakfast and the country life hair and skin tabs. Days I’m off or work later I just skip the energy pack—I’m just not a morning person, they do seem to help.

Have a great day ladies ;_)
