TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

Count me in too! I have 6 more to get there and I am determined to do it.
I have more than a couple of pounds to get to onederland but I really hope to get there by my birthday in May.
nothing like a little competition between friends! LOL

Bring.It.On!!!

Get your butt over here in one-derland!!!!! :yay:
Alrighty dona and LTS, off to ONE-derland we go!!! Lets make this the year we get back under 200 and stay there forever!!!!:cool1: We'll see you there soon, buffy!!

LTS-I think you have a great plan to get right back on track when you return from your spring break, and I'm guessing that you have been doing so well now, that you'll find that you won't be eating nearly what you might have in the past. I'm sure you don't get back there as much as you'd like, so enjoy your time with friends and family, and once you're on the plane home, right back on track. :thumbsup2 When is your spring break?

A lot of people here cross the border into Mexico for cheap dental work. I think I'd rather have my teeth fall out!!
OMG, I can't even imagine.

QOTD for 1/13 -

Valentine's Day is upon us and is frequently associated with food. What are you planning to do to keep it under control despite all the temptations?
I am not going to buy any chocolate. I will celebrate 9 days later with a mickey bar or rice crispy treat. I bought ds a little stuffed skunk with a small bag of gummy hearts and a spongebob heart of skittles or something like that, so not something I care to eat. My sister will probably drop him off some peeps, but again that's not too tempting. He's made me a card in school, so that will be our valentines day. This is the first year they're not having a school party, so he hasn't even been through the valentines section of any store so be reminded of all the junk they have out.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I managed 6.74 miles today with dogs. Planning on crashing early tonight if possible.

DS25 now has prednisone to help the swelling and Vicodin for the pain thanks to a trip to his primary care Dr. Hoping he makes the right decision and goes to work tonight(he's a night stocking mgr. at Walmart).
:thumbsup2Awesome mileage with those puppies. Hope ds is starting to feel better and was able to make it to work.

Zoe got worse last night. I spent all day dotting on her. She was really sick this time. Usually when she gets colds she gets a runny nose and cough but keeps on going. She was on the couch miserable for almost 2 days. Still not feeling much better and still low grade fever. It tried going higher last night and she was having trouble falling and staying asleep so gave her Motrin.

She went off to bed a few minutes ago. I haven't been at my desk at all since Friday morning when I posted last. So my food diary is a bit behind. Need to get it caught up and get back to tracking through out the day. I'm pretty sure I went over today because my brother brought home a pizza. Tomorrow I think I'll be in Zoe's boat. My brother and I have both developed a cough. I just hope she gets to feeling better before I get too bad. I'm feeling tired and slightly warm so going to go lay down in bed with her. She woke up last night confused a bit talking about how huge the room was. Very odd!
:hug:Hope Zoe is feeling better soon, and sending pixiedust that you all don't get it. Hang in there.

We still have chocolates from Christmas in the house and Halloween candy.
:worship:I don't think I've ever said this before in february.:rolleyes1

I just couldn't get into anything yesterday. I felt cold and achy all day. I did go grocery shopping so that I wouldn't have to do it today.

I had a bad night sleep. I woke up about 11 and couldn't get back to sleep. I read for a while but stilll could not get sleepy. I finally fell asleep about 1 and slept till 4:30 when the dog was moaning. I am still a little achy but my head feels better.
Hope you're not coming down with something too. I wish you had another day to relax.

Good morning teammies!!
I hope I have another relaxing day. I'm on call til 7pm, and as I sit in my pajamas in bed, I'm hoping I don't get called in. On the other hand, if I do get called in that will be good too and I'll think of it as my disney dollars.

We went grocery shopping yesterday afternoon and then to ac moore and Best buy, and I picked up some glittery fabric paint to paint a tiara on my t-shirt for the princess half, and ds has a best buy gift card burning a hole in his pocket, but he didn't buy anything. I tried an iron rhinestone crown and all the rhinestones wouldn't stick, so i ended up ruining the shirt, but I want something. I think I'll do that today. They had plenty of the same t-shirt at target when I replaced it the othernight, but I'm hoping this will work.

Have a great day!!

I
I will. DS9 has an appt with our Dr on the 24th so hopefully I'll have a few minutes to talk to him about me. And I have a follow up with the podiatrist at 11 that day so hopefully my foot will be on it's way to recovery. The inserts have really helped and I'd say I'm about 90% pain free most days so I'm stoked about that!

Glad to hear that the foot pain is resolving. But the 24th is 10 days away.... why wait? Call tomorrow to schedule the ultrasound... please.

Did I read here or on the Mickey team where someone had asked if we had target pants?

The answer is yes, I have a pair of shorts circa 1994. I practically lived in them when we lived in Hawai'i. I love those shorts and I am determined to fit into them again. I think they are a size 6 or 8. I probably weighed 125 - 130.

Ooooo... Hawaii??? I don't think I knew that. Lucky girl!

Thanks pamela. I for one, love listening to all that you have to share on weight loss success and how you got to where you are. I must credit you also for my loss this week when you said it's only 14 short days, and I can do anything for 14 days, and I can and I did. Hope you have a good day at the meet and you're able to stay in control with the food. I'm so glad to hear dh is back at work too. He must be exhausted after being off for so long, but it must feel great to get back to normal for all of you.

The meet didn't last as long as I anticipated. I stayed in good control most of the day.... splurged a bit on a treat with the kids last night, but overall it was a good day.

DD placed well in both of her individual events.... I think 10th and 11th. Very respectable for Division II for the whole state! She was disappointed she didn't get top 6 to be called back for Meet of Champions today. Maybe next year. Instead she will be swimming Regionals for her Y team in VT today.

Glad you had a good week! One more good week like that before you head to the Princess!!

Hoping that DS was able to go to work.

QOTD: Well... Valentine's day is a non-issue around here usually. Sometimes DH sends/brings flowers, sometimes just a card. I usually get the kids a non-food gift (this year they each get a small treat along with a small gift). And, like Shannon, we still have Christmas candy and Halloween candy in the house (not to mention two Lindt dark chocolate bunnies from last Easter ). I WILL NOT eat my kids candy and if they don't eat it, it just sits. The bunnies will hit the trash soon if they don't get eaten. I should have put them in the freezer a long time ago, but they sit in the cookbook cupboard and were probably forgotten.

We've never "gone out" for Valentine's Day (well... at least not since we've been married). It is usually just another busy day for us...especially since it falls during swim season and basketball season.

Zoe got worse last night. I spent all day dotting on her. She was really sick this time. Usually when she gets colds she gets a runny nose and cough but keeps on going. She was on the couch miserable for almost 2 days. Still not feeling much better and still low grade fever. Take care of YOURSELF!! You need to stay healthy to take care of Zoe! Wish I could be there to bring a crockpot of soup or something. I'll pray for healing for your entire house.

Happy Sunday morning all! I need to get hustling, but I wanted to come and say hi. DD's swim meet today is late afternoon. I've got stuff I need to get done around here this morning, church, and then off to the meet about 1pm. Not sure what that will mean for my eating today. I'll probably eat lunch at home and then pack snacks/dinner for the meet and ride home tonight. Thankfully, along this particular highway there is almost NO WHERE to stop for junk food.... one exit with a McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts is about it.... so not lots of temptation enroute. And the swim meet concessions food isn't terribly appealing. If I can just stick to what I bring along, I should be fine.

Julie..... you made a comment about your food listing matching mine. When you mentioned hot dogs, it occurred to me I hadn't even MENTIONED things like that.... because they haven't been a part of my normal diet for so many years!! We stopped buying cured meats many, many years ago. I will occasionally splurge on a package of precooked bacon for the family, but that is about it.

We don't buy lunch meat, hot dogs, ham (well... I did for Easter last year), kielbasa, pepperoni, sausages, brats or anything else like that. There was a time when DS enjoyed an occasional hot dog, but thankfully he has lost his taste for them.... even when we're at Disney!

You also mentioned caffeine. I must say, except for days like yesterday, when I was working on 4 hours of sleeping and needing to do a lot of driving, I effectively gave up caffeine 16 years ago when I was pregnant with DD. In fact, there was a time when I wouldn't even have had caffeinated coffee in the house to MAKE, but I do keep it on hand for "emergencies" now! :lmao: I will say, since I rarely indulge, it does an effective job of keeping me alert when I need it!

I LOVE the La Tortilla Factory wraps!! I buy them whenever I can find them. My regular grocery store doesn't carry them, so I have to go looking. Those and the flax seed/oat bran pita pockets make up the majority of my carbohydrates.

Well... I'm off to order a refill of DS's supplements. I'm hoping to find them cheaper online than buying them from the Naturopathic doctor. TTYL..............P

Count me in too! I have 6 more to get there and I am determined to do it.

You can do it!! We'll have a 3 way race!

QOTD for 1/13 -

Valentine's Day is upon us and is frequently associated with food. What are you planning to do to keep it under control despite all the temptations?

Well, I tried to find a nutrition guide from Brio (Where we ate last night) but couldn't find one so I just tried to order well. We got Carpaccio which is thin sliced beef with salad. I ate most of the salad, and just a few slices of beef. I got a field greens salad, but no cheese, and they brought the dressing on the side. It was a balsamic dressing and I used less then 1/2 of it. I ordered the grilled pork chop (comes with 2 chops) I only ate 1 chop, and doubled up the roasted asparagus. They ran out of mashed potatoes and had roasted red potatoes but they were over cooked so I only had 1/2 of one potato.
I did eat from the bread basket which I should not have done, and I had a caramel chocolate cake but it was cooked in an espresso cup so it was probably 1/4 of the size of a slice of cake.

I had planned to go over on the meal, but I think I did ok on choices. I totally avoided the pastas and cream sauces.

Oh and DH doesn't buy me chocolates and stuff, I'm so picky when it comes to that he's better off not getting anything.

Glad to hear that the foot pain is resolving. But the 24th is 10 days away.... why wait? Call tomorrow to schedule the ultrasound... please.

Ooooo... Hawaii??? I don't think I knew that. Lucky girl!

Eh, Hawai'i was ok. DH was in the Navy on a sub and was never home, (Ha like now!) so I mostly stayed in our apartment. It was so ungodly expensive there so we never went out.
If I were independently wealthy I'd go back in a heartbeat but I would not live on Oahu again, probably Kaua'i or the big island.

Yes, mom. I will go get my appt scheduled tomorrow. LOL

Going to have to post a gain this week :sad2: Fell off the WW and gym wagon. Good news is I am back on and ready to have a great week!!

Big round of applause!! Eating out is SO TOUGH. It sounds like you made excellent choices.

Water under the bridge now. You are right.... it IS good news that you are back and ready for a great week! This journey is 90% mental... as long as your head is in the right place, you are ready for success!

I had a nice treat for breakfast. I had a homemade FiberOne Mickey waffle (with extra wheat bran, cinnamon, and vanilla tossed in ) and a bit of light syrup. I don't splurge like that often on breakfast, but it was well worth it. I think one reason I have been having some unplanned "treats" lately is because maybe I've been feeling a bit deprived. So I opted for the waffle rather than my usual breakfast of toast and pb or cottage cheese or egg whites and veggies. That said, I gave up my usual 1 point morning hot drink to have a little wiggle room with the calories and had a cup of hot coffee with just a splash of almond milk instead.

I also have a nice light hot lunch read to go in the oven to feed the family, so that we can have a family meal together before DD and I have to head out for this afternoon's swim meet. I'm ready for today to be a GOOD DAY!!

Hope you don't come down with Zoe's stuff.

Valentine's Day isn't a big deal in our house. We still have chocolates from Christmas in the house and Halloween candy. I love good chocolate, and splurge at Christmas to get some of the good stuff, and then slowly eat it over a few months. I do love Reese's peanut butter chocolates, but just don't buy them. Keep slowly eating the expense also delicious chocolate. It seems that its easier to slowly eat the expensive chocolate.

I still have a ton of chocolate left over from Christmas. I am not really into chocolate, but give me something salty, and watch out!

I am not going to buy any chocolate. I will celebrate 9 days later with a mickey bar or rice crispy treat.

Fun! Have a great time getting ready of the princess half.

Good job staying on target, and congrats to your daughter.

I am in the same boat. Good luck this week.

QOTD: DH and I don't really celebrate Valentine's Day. He might get me flowers, and in the past we've done a nice meal out, but not lately. The girls at the office will be bringing treats. They plan on all starting diets on the 15th. The good news is it will be a busy day for me so I won't have time to nibble much!

Happy Sunday. It is a beautiful day here so I plan to go for a walk.

Hi all. Still around and plugging along. Just been pretty busy here doing research and working on my business plan and such. I'm down a bit this week but not much, but it's something, right? I figured I'd be up since I was not as careful as usual.
Still waiting to get to exercising. Just haven't been able to physically but hopefully I'll be able to this week.

Keep up the good work!!!

Hello All My Team Donald Friends,
I have a lot of catching up to do and I don't know if I'm going to be able to read everything:scared1:!!!! I’ve had some awesome highs this week and some real lows. First the high…. I've just returned from a great vacation in Florida that included a few days at Universal Studios, a few days at the Kennedy Space Center and a 4 day Disney Dream Cruise :banana:. I fell off the eating wagon a bit and I now realize that it was a mistake to go to Palo AND Remy on a 4 day cruise. So much good food in such a short period of time is ALWAYS trouble. Needless to say, I gained 3 pounds since my last weigh in, but I’m home and ready to get back to my normal eating habits and gym routine.

The Dream was awesome:banana: It was so shiny and new and the Aquaduck was a blast!!! We had great weather, in the low 80’s, in Nassau and Castaway Cay. I just have to say that I love Castaway Cay and would love to stay there more than one day!!! While on the island we did a 1hour bike ride, fed the stingrays, went snorkeling and then spent some time just laying in a hammock with an adult beverage:cool2:. Yes, I could do that for more than one day!!!!! The skies were blue and there was a nice breeze blowing through the palms:cloud9:. A lot nicer than the cold weather and chores at home in Maryland!!!

Now the low…..Ok, now I’m home and back to reality, really back to reality…. my grandmother had passed away:sad1: while I was on the cruise. She was 98 and when I left she was not doing well so luckily I was able to see her before I left. I’m sad but I just keep thinking of the great memories I have of the times we spent together.

I’m felling stressed right now…I think I better go to the gym:wizard:f

PS. Great going Shawn on the 26.2!!!

:wave2: Good Morning!

Looks like a Costco run for today. I was called and asked to make muffins for a Teacher Breakfast in the morning but I think instead of the temptation of making them ( I LOVE blueberry muffins and can eat an entire batch) I will just buy some. No point in making things harder for myself than I have to. I also have to get bananas because dd's class is having fondue for their Valentine's party  It is no wonder that losing weight is so hard when all of these temptations and challenges are constantly being thrown at us!

Poor baby. It is so hard when the kids are sick. I would rather be sick myself than see them miserable. Take care of yourself and if you do come down with what she has take it easy and give yourself time to recover.

Valentine's Day is not a big deal in our house. I doubt that we will do much more than an extra "Happy Valentine's Day" hug and kiss. I did make 2 heart shaped cakes for my kids with the leftover cake batter last week and will decorate them tonight and leave them for them to find in the morning.

Happy Birthday

:hug:I am so sorry for your loss.

Sounds like you had a great trip and I am so jealous!

NCRedding: I can't wait til I am in your shoes. It sounds wonderful, and so far away for me!
Not long ago it seemed very far away to me too. While I have only "officially" been dieting since the first of the year I actually had some success last year by making a few little changes (mostly more activity) so from my absolute highest weight I have lost about 30 lbs. I figure at my current (healthy) pace and planning for minor plateaus and setbacks it will actually take at least 2 more years to get to where I want to be:scared1:. The thought of that is very frustrating and overwhelming so I am taking it in small increments. My goal for this challenge is just to get off 20 so that I will be in Onederland. Then I will pick a new time period (next BL challenge?) and another small goal. I think that makes it much easier to stay motivated than looking at the big picture.

Everyone have a great day! :sunny:

Hoping I get a lot of weigh ins before 7:30PM tomorrow night!!!!

Mickey is currently ahead by 3.5 pounds!

Please proofread your weigh ins before you submit them! And remember that I need your current weight and not how much you lost this week. I check the weights from last week with this week's weight to make sure they match up! If there is a discrepency I will PM you back!!!!

Had a great weekend at Coco Key with fellow Disers!!! Ate too much but will get back with it tomorrow and throughout the week!

Happy Birthday to all celebrating this month!

I am not going to buy any chocolate. I will celebrate 9 days later with a mickey bar or rice crispy treat. I bought ds a little stuffed skunk with a small bag of gummy hearts and a spongebob heart of skittles or something like that, so not something I care to eat.

Down, is Down....doesn't matter how much! Hope you have a good week this week!

Glad you had such a wonderful time! Sounds like a fantastic vacation!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, but thankful you got to spend some time together. Hang in there!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today is really nice here. Walked to church and back - but it is just over 1 mile each way as we meet in the HS performing arts center. The main campus is huge & in need of expansion - currently we have 4 campuses with the goal to have 20 w/in the next 18 yrs. This is the church DS21 is interning at.

DS25 seems a bit better, but didn't make work last night. No surprise. I'm really hoping he goes in tonight. He has been sleeping or at least in his room most of the time, and not quite so whiney when out of it. Praying that tomorrow is just a root canal!!!

DH & I are going to dinner tonight at the base of the tram. Using Restaurant.com coupons!! It is mexican, but I've already scoped out the menu and know I will be having grilled salmon. I won't have a drink, so MAY have a few chips. Depends on if they are worth it or just ordinary.

I'm beginning to get frustrated that even with behaving, the scale isn't budging. But, I know I"m not getting my usual amounts of water, and just beginning with the walking, I always retain. Gonna keep telling myself I'll see in move in another week or so.

Trying to find DH & his DSis2 hotels that will take dogs enroute from SC to here. Made his plane reservations yesterday so he can fly out to help her move here. Fun, fun, fun!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Evening everybody

Been another week week in the neighborhood of "Its always something":lmao:

The current something is going to involve a plumber. Wonderful:rolleyes:

Anyway, I am down this week. Not htat I've been working out, but I am down. And its time to order a new workout video. I'm just terrible at deciding what to order:sad2: I have been doing Power Fit with Stephanie Huckabee which I love, but have peaked on and haven't really felt motivated to do lately because of that. Not that I've had a lot of time, but still....

She has a newer set out which i am considering, also thinking of yoga too. not sure which to order if I go the yoga route. Don't care for Jillian or Bob. But if anybody has suggestions otherwise I'll take em. Want to get ordered by tomorrow night, maybe tuesday.

Hopefully, this week I'll get some cleaning done in the house. It needs it. Boy does it need it:rolleyes1

As for Valentine's day, we don't bother with it here. No cards, no candy. Just a regular day in our household.

Hope everybody is having a better night than mepopcorn::

I think my goal for this week is just to pop in and say hi every day here.

Hi everyone! I was away for military leave this weekend so I have alot of catching up to do. I will PM my weight tomorrow AM (drank way too much water on the ride home tonight to get on a scale right now!!! :lmao:).
Off to make lunches for tomorrow!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

In the spirit of the day, today's QOTD is: What do you LOVE about yourself?

It's often hard along this journey to see the positives in ourselves. Today, think of AT LEAST ONE thing you wouldn't want to change about yourself!

Good Monday morning team DOnald

Happy Valentine's Day

Goldcupmom You are very true with your QOTD today. GOldcupmom says:

I must have done something to my back because it is very stiff when I get up in the morning. If I am walking it is not bad.

Off to get some breakfast.
Have a happy and healthy Valentine's Day

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Add me to the group of folks on the quest to ONE-derland before the end of the challenge. It's going to happen this time, I know it! :thumbsup2

Have a few QOTD to catch up on.

QOTD for 1/12-Are there foods you can 't or won't deny yourself in order to make a healthier choice? Why are they important & how do you feel about giving them up?

I don't do fat free cheese. I think it tastes horrible and I'm afraid of what they put in it to make it "fat free." I would much rather cut the portion of what I eat and have the "real thing" and savor it than eat something I don't like as well. I've learned that if I substitute things instead of eating what I want, I'll eventually end up eating it anyway, after I've had a bunch of other stuff so it is better to just have the "good stuff" in the first place. :goodvibes

QOTD for 1/13 -
Valentine's Day is upon us and is frequently associated with food. What are you planning to do to keep it under control despite all the temptations?

The Princess looming is a good incentive to keep things under control here. My guys each got me one Lindt ball for Valentine's Day -- that was perfect.

Melissa, hope that Zoe is feeling better and that you don't have the bug, too. :flower3:

dona, hope that your back is feeling better soon! :flower3:

Alrighty dona and LTS, off to ONE-derland we go!!! Lets make this the year we get back under 200 and stay there forever!!!!:cool1: We'll see you there soon, buffy!!

::yes:: I'm right behind you, Kathy! You'll be there before we head out to WDW!

Happy Belated Birthdays to you all!

Buffy, sounds like you had a nice outing and did a great job with choices! :thumbsup2

Going to have to post a gain this week Fell off the WW and gym wagon. Good news is I am back on and ready to have a great week!!

, Mary. It happens. Just hop right back on the wagon! :thumbsup2

Nice job giving yourself a treat, Pamela! :thumbsup2 A splurge here or there within your plan will not derail your efforts. And you've been so successful! :goodvibes

I can't wait til I am in your shoes. It sounds wonderful, and so far away for me!

 One step at a time!
