Hello all, had a nice day today. Yoga this morning, Shred in the afternoon (confession: was interrupted by a phone call with about 6 minutes to go and didn't finish!) and then went to a surprise 40th bday party for a friend's husband at a restaurant. It was cute, he tapped the keg with an actual mallet and tap and had to wear a leather apron! I was not good at the party, had 3 beers, (pork) ribs w/sauce and a baked potato and a slice of carrot cake! Oh well, I made the decision I was going to enjoy the food tonight and I ate lightly the rest of the day. Stupid thing I did was to come home and pop a few Skittles in my mouth (WHY???) This broke off some MORE of my tooth and basically only the filling and the front part are still there. I will definitely be calling the dentist tomorrow. I have not been to the dentist here yet but I have heard they are expensive. I hope they have the same type of numbing/anastethics that I am used to !!!
CONGRATS!!!!!!!

to all the biggest losers. I was
hoping to be on the list this week but not yet.....I
WILL make it on there one of these weeks
Busy weekend with a sick DS. Very unusual for him. Yesterday was the first time he has been out sick from school since he was in 1st grade. He is now in 8th.
Wow, that is unusual. My son is also in 8th grade and rarely sick but usually has atleast a day or two out every year. He went one year with perfect attendance in 5th grade. When we moved here last year he caught swine flu and had to stay out a week, mandatory by the school. He had a very mild case and it was a LONG week!

I hope your son is feeling better!
Free for all, especially the adult beverages!!!
Hi! I am new here!! And while I read through a bunch of threads today it took me until now to realize what QOTD meant I look forward to being a BIG LOSER along with all of the rest of you!!!

TWINS!! What a blessing!
I am on my third set of bone spurs in both feet, I have flat feet, arthritis in the ankles and at one point tendinitis in the left ankle because of a bunion. Once the bunion was removed the tendinitis did go away. I very rarely go our without my sneakers on. I wear them every day along with my orthotics. I even found a sandle that I can wear them in. I was pretty lucky in the bunion surgery. I was a fairly fast healer. I was only on crutches for about 4 days before I switched to a cane. 2 months later I spent 5 days in DW.
WOW, that's ALOT of foot problems. Glad you did so well with the surgery. I was scheduled to have it Spring 2009 but chickened out. May do it when I return to the US but I'm still scared it might be worse than what I have now.
My bunion makes it difficult to balance on just the bunion foot during yoga.
After not having regular 'net at home all day what a fun surprise

Now just got to keep it up...
GREAT JOB !!!
I've been busy with work and courses. Last two evenings I sat at the table doing my course work while helping my 9yo DD with her homework. It is not as effective as working alone, since there was lots of interruptions to help her. But she likes knowing we both have to do homework and there was a definite improvement DD's attitude between night one and night two. She gets overwhelmed with thinking about how hard something is and gets into panic mode instead of just calmly doing the work.
What a great example
LOL they showed a marquee on the news tonight from a local Christian School. It said Whoever is praying for snow, please stop!
Had to shout out an AMEN to that!!
Be careful with all the slick roads you have!
I do not want the cortisone injections!!
The relief you experience is sooooo worth it though, for me atleast. The first one I ever got was the most painful thing I've ever experienced but the pain was very short lived and with all the others there was no pain at all. My current podiatrist does not like to give many cortisone shots so I haven't had one since Summer 2009 but I'm doing much better now
OMG!!! I made top ten!! Woohoo!! That was the motivation I needed!!
I woke up this morning and my knee is very stiff. The dr had warned me that on bad days it may hurt. He was right.
1/26/11 Wednesday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy snack?
Apple, banana, almonds (no more than 10 due to calories!), yogurt, laughing cow cheese spread on 1/2 english muffin, pretzels, mini carrots, grapes.
I am soooooooooooooooo excited to end up in the Number 2 position this week!! I have been working really hard to eat right and exercise and the pounds are moving in the right direction!

I love to hear about others' successes! It's so motivating to me, it makes me feel like I could do it too!
Ugh.
I've been trying to do my time on the treadmill, and my foot is screaming by the end.
I like the treadmill more than the bike or elliptical,, so I have just been dealing with it.
I've tried the toe spacer thing at night. Helps a little, not too much.
Does anyone have anything that has helped, short of the surgery?
My mom had the surgery, so I am sure that is coming one day, I would like to put it off as long as posisble.
I am trying a toe spacer some too since beg of the year. I can't keep it on more than an hour so far! I massage my bunion sometimes and that helps a little. I'm putting off my surgery as long as possible too and hope I can keep finding shoes that fit! Good luck with your battle!
Great attitude! It is getting a little easier for me each time I do it, I am amazed. Right now I do not feel like I will ever move on to Level 2, but who knows? The push ups are the hardest part for me, ugghhhh......
I have Voltaren but it is for my hip. I should probably try it on my feet to. Where did you apply it to? The heel or the arch?
Mostly the arch but I do the heel and sides and back of the heel too. It feels so good. I have to measure out a certain amount on a little paper strip and it's alot of goo! It seems like much more than you need but you're just supposed to keep rubbing and rubbing (I guess you already know this

). It takes me about 5 mins to rub it all in and then I try to sit and wait about 10 more minutes before putting on socks or shoes to make sure it all got absorbed into the skin. I actually have not needed to use it in almost a year. I try to take some with me on every vacation just in case. We do so much walking on vacay I don't want a flare up.
I got the Mickey ones that are the same colors as that. They are so stinkin cute and I was so surprised at how comfortable.
Oh, they sound so cute, I haven't seen the Mickey ones
mmmmmmmm
Pamela Sorry about your daughter spat. It's tough to be a Mom! I'm sure both your kids are great most of the time but they know what buttons to push sometimes!
I enjoyed watching the BL this morning, esp since it was only an hour long

Have a great day tomorrow Donalds and make it count since it's the last day before our weigh-in on Friday!
Shawn
