TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

UGH. I HATE to hear that attitude about bypass or other surgical options. I looked into them and seriously considered it. But surgery is just a TOOL that helps you along with EXERCISE and DIET changes. :sad2: Anyone who says they are doing the surgery that they don't want to exercise and diet is NOT ready to have the surgery, and any doctor that would do it for them is a quack. Yes they will lose some weight, but without making the appropriate changes they will never lose enough or will gain much of it back. And if you continue to fill your body with crap foods and sit around and do nothing your overall health won't be helped by just losing some weight. Okay, off my soapbox.

I have a friend who talked to me about my weight loss about a year ago. She was considering Gastric bypass at the time and wanted to know what I did. I talked to her about WW, my struggles and my successes. I offered to kind of "walk the walk" with her. But she already had her mind made up that diet and exercise WEREN'T going to work for her. She had the gb surgery this past fall. I know she was losing some weight, but I haven't seen her or talked to her since about early November, so I'm not sure how it is going. I really pray for success for her, but I wish she had given WW a try before going for something drastic like life-altering surgery. You are gonna ROCK THIS WEIGHT LOSS!!

P

I have a friend who did GB and while she hasn't gained it all back she gained a lot. She had to lose the weight to get the double knee replacement but without good knees she couldn't lose the weight. It was a vicious cycle. Now granted she's a nurse and a single mom to triplets so it's not easy for her but I'm like she went through all of the hell GB puts you through and for what?!

I just had to comment on this. My dh's sister was very overweight and went for gb. with all the pain and all of her other medications she almost ended up in a coma. She never changed her attitude and now is gaining it all back. she never works out or watches what she eats.

I have two cousins who just underwent gb this past summer. I know that least one of them has never changed his attitude I think he will also gain it all back.

It is not the be all and end all that people think it is.

Hi everyone! Just popping in for a quick update/QOTD answer. I had a loss this week , but not as big as I had hoped . I am blaming it on the fact that I had to go to Memphis for work yesterday. It started with a 6:30am flight there, a full day of work and my flight home got in at 9:50pm. Add in the commute and it was a loooong day. And the healthy eating options were pretty non-existent. In order to get some exercise in, I walked a full lap of the MEM airport, all the while keeping an eye out for something healthy to eat. After a full lap, I finally settled on a sandwhich and some fruit as my best option, but unfortunately, it wasn't super healthy. The trip also resulted in a big project for me, so I probably won't be able to keep up here as much as I would like for the next week or so :sad1:

QOTD 1/13---Mostly, I stand in my own way. I would love to blame someone else, but I know it is really only me. Luckily I am really competitive, so now that I have started, I don't want anything to stand in my way :cool1:

QOTD 1/14--My exercise plan is kind of made up as I go along. I for sure play broomball on Thursdays and Sundays, and usually on Saturdays as well. Monday through Friday I usually try to get to the gym on my lunch break and I rotate between treadmill, elliptical and the bike. I also rotate my treadmill work between just running at a steady pace and doing interval training by rotating walking and running with increased speed. (I started doing the interval training a couple of years ago and found that it made me a much faster sprinter.) I also do 1 day of weight training, but I know I should do more.

That's all for now...Have an awesome weekend!

beth

Beth,
I'm amazed that you do your gym on LUNCH break. When do you eat? And how on earth do you get there and do it and back all fresh for work? Last time I had my gym membership I couldn't find time for it between 40 hours work and class 4 out of 5 weeknights. I already gave up my lunch to get out an hour earlier. I should have gone after work but all I wanted to do was go home and nap after 4 hour nights 5 if I was lucky.

Hi just popping in to say hello quick. I'm officially on team Donald as a maintainer. For those who don't know me, I lost over 50 pounds in the last 2 years which is good but now I'm having trouble stopping, so I think it's a good idea to stay on the boards. I'm at 122 this week so it's a little worrying but I've been working out on an elliptical sp? lately so that's probably mostly it. and that's good stress relief so I just need to watch it. Had kind of a rocky week emotionally, but overall things have been better than I've hoped for. I just need to stop predicting the worst and try harder to deal with the present as is.
I know the thread is always so busy after New Years, I'll start catching up more in the next week :-)

:headache: My ticker won't update. I may just have to take it out.

There is a problem with the DIS weight loss tickers but the Webmasters are working on it. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. I went and looked for another ticker for my sig but I love the one I have so I am going to give it a week or so and see if it gets taken care of. You can always just create a new one each week but that is kind of a pain.

Yeah, mine didn't work either. I too was thinking about getting a different one but I like mine too. Since I maintained this week it doesn't really matter anyways.

1/14/11 Friday QOTD - What does a typical weekly exercise plan look like for you? How often, when and what do you plan to do? How often do you meet these goals?

I'd love to get back to my old routine. This was when I still had a child in school and I was working. I would get up at 6 and have my coffee and get Ty off to school. Then I would putter about cleaning up and doing some online surfing. At 7:45 I would get on the Wii fit and do a routine of yoga, strength exercising, hula hooping and then finish off with a mile run. Then at 8:45 (it was an hour of exercising) I would get ready for work and be out the door at 9:30. I did that 5 days a week. I'd love to get back on that schedule. Now I wake up at 9:30! :scared1:
That's my goal and I'm going to try and start that come Monday.

I know I am my own worse enemy. I'm lazy and hard to get motivated. In my mind I'm very motivated but when it comes to putting it in practice forget it!!

I also have some changes coming my way. For those who don't know me, I moved here to Florida from New Hampshire last March. 3 of my 4 kids still live up north. The other just deployed to Kosovo last week for a years duty. On Thursday, one of my children, Aaron, will be moving down here for about 8 months or so. He's going to get a job and get back on his feet and then go back north. I'm kinda thinking (and hoping) that he'll end up staying. I'm hoping too that with him gone his other brother, who is very close to him, will decide to move down as well. So after many months of being empty-nesters that will change.

I'm in the beginning phases too of maybe starting a business. There is a lot of work (and computer time) that I'm doing which I think is also contributing to my slacking off in the exercise department. And my stupid Facebook games. :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, after that all incessant rambling I'm going to really try and buckle down and get myself back on a schedule. I really believe that had a lot to do with my success last time. Plus bathing suit season will be here before I know it! :scared1::scared1:

ETA: Just realized I screwed up my healthy habits. I counted my fruits/veggies instead of journaling. Guess I need to read better.

Hi Susan.:goodvibes I'm not on this thread as much as team Mickey, but wanted you to know I was thinking about you. I think it's great that you are doing the elliptical--it's great stress relief--but make sure you have a plan for eating. I don't want to have to worry about you.:goodvibes I started a maintainer's thread on the wish boards too if you want to pop on there. Hang in there.

/
I had a good cry after I wrote all that out yesterday. I'm just so ticked off and I need to chill out. I'm irritated that the house is a pig sty, I'm irritated that last night I couldn't finish a C25K session. I'm irritated that my foot is bothering me again (gonna call the dr after I finish this), I'm irritated that I had to deal with the damn snow and DH is gone, I'm irritated that I had to park my car at mom's so I could put the trash in the driveway because there are huge banks of snow so the driveway is to narrow for the car and the can.
AGH, I did not have a good night.

Victory was mine though. I didn't eat, I watched Bride Wars with Kate Hudson and Ann Hathaway. It was funny. I'm down a pound. I didn't take maalox again last night, that's like day 6 or something like that (I've started writing it down), I bought a ton of fruits and veggies yesterday (kids said the grapes were horrible though), and I did do a mile on the treadmill, even though I didn't finish C25K, I did over 1/2.

Well that was the weirdest post ever. See how my brain works?!??!

You are RIGHT... it WAS a victory!! You are to be congratulated on that! It is so hard to avoid the perceived comfort of eating (or overeating) when we are feeling defeated or blue, or frustrated. Sometimes I have to physically stop myself and talk OUT LOUD to myself if I find that I am heading for the snack cupboard out of frustration! I remind myself that while I might feel better for the 5 or 10 minutes that I am eating, afterwards I will feel WORSE and the problem WON'T be gone! And then I will have all of that regret and remorse to deal with (not to mention an extra pound or two). It has been something I have really been learning over the past few years.

 Not a happy morning. As I was afraid, the scale didn't move.:guilty: I am really not sure why because I have been doing fine on my eating. But it is right before TOM and I have been peeing like crazy so I am going to blame it on water retention and hormones and hope for a big result next week.

Like someone else mentioned, next week will probably be a big loss for you. Stick with it!!

That bolded part is EXACTLY what I was going to say. Unfortunately, many, many people think that slim automatically equals "healthy".... but you can certainly be slim and unhealthy, just as you can be moderately overweight and be healthy.

Whew - a weekend in Disney, minimal tracking all week and....I am still on the Maintainer's team. Thank goodness! Actually, I had a loss even. You just never know.

Like we've talked about before, sometimes maintaining is harder than losing! But especially after a weekend at Disney!:thumbsup2

Oh, I totally relate to both sides of this. I do know generally what clothes that will fit me tend to look like, thankfully. I have had both the experience of looking at photos and thinking "Wow, am I really that big? I don't FEEL that big!" and also the experience of "Wow, am I really that small? I feel a lot bigger than that." I have made DH and my chiropractor swear that they will tell me the minute I start to look less healthy in the weight department - there is a fine line between slim and gaunt, and I definitely don't want to be on the gaunt side.

I think it was someone on the last challenge who suggested Portia DiRossi's recent memoir, and reading about the way her mind was working...it was unfortunately familiar. She's a beautiful woman by any standard, and she talks about how she always felt she was NOT beautiful at all. She also talks about being overweight while she was recovering. It's such a continuum. The thing that made the biggest impression, though, was the photos of her at some of her lowest weights, and while her face still looked pretty, her body looked skeletal and not attractive.

I would like to read her book. I saw her talking about it on Oprah.

I volunteered at a water stop near mile 7, right across the way from the entry gates for the Magic Kingdom. I got up at 2am, took a race bus to Epcot, then the monorail with my friend Tracy to the TTC and on to the Poly. We crossed over to the MK parking lot which was our volunteer dispatch area. From there, after getting our apparel (windbreaker jackets) and snacks, we rode a bus to the location, spent several hours setting up tables, cups, pouring water and powerade, then when the runners came through, we handed them cups, shouting what we were holding. After that, tear down and put away, back on the bus to get our park ticket reward and then we went down to DHS to cheer for a few more hours.

I'll bet that was fun (and cold and tiring!).

I do have some photos, but mostly I let other people take them and am enjoying watching them show up on Facebook. Unfortunately, that makes it hard to share them here. I will post the best one I have: It is me and my friend John (Ffigawi) from the Ohana Team. He was having fun with the half marathon, for sure!

P1080015.jpg

I KNEW you'd have a fun photo to share! How do you manage to look SO GOOD mid-run that early in the morning!??

So glad that this is working for your DS!

Thanks.... I honestly wasn't holding out much hope, since the "traditional" dermatologists hadn't gotten anywhere with this, but this is really exciting!

I just find it SO SAD that people think that GB is the end-all and be-all of permanent weight loss. I have another person I know of who had GB (or lapband, can't remember which) in the spring of 2009. I KNOW that she lost many, many pounds.... but every time I asked her about exercise she made excuses about why she couldn't. And when we talked about her eating, I was always a big shocked to hear about the "few bites of General's chicken" she managed to get down or the other unhealthy things she was eating, even though she was eating VERY LITTLE. Don't people get it?? You're body is like a car and your stomach is the gas tank. If you fill your gas tank with water or lemonade, it won't get you very far. It needs GASOLINE... that is the proper fuel for your car to run properly. Same with your body.... if you are filling your "tank" with junk like take-out food, chips, cookies, etc, you won't get very far... at least, not very far into a healthy lifestyle.

It is SO SAD that these hoards of people lining up for GB surgery aren't being taught better eating habits, portion control, exercises, nutrition, etc, etc.

It will be nice to have a kid or two back in the nest I imagine! I am dreading the day my kids are all gone!!

Love to hear more about the new business!!

Well... the kitchen time is about to "ding" that dinner is ready, so I'll be quick here (baked fish, roasted broccoli, Alexia oven fries for DS). I managed to finish about 26 semi-finished scrapbooking pages today! They are done and counted and ready for the book!! That is an exciting day in my world! I hae about four more that I will probably finish up tonight as well. Then I will be all through with the semi-finished pages I've had sitting around here and can start on something fresh!

DS has b.ball practice at 7:30 pm. I don't feel up to driving him... kind of tired, but oh well. Life goes on. At least tomorrow isn't a 4:45 alarm clock day!!

There goes the timer! Dinner is ready and I'm hungry! Enjoy your evening and I will be back to chat this weekend!...................p

I have a gain this week. Sorry, Donalds

 Hang in there Kelli!!!

Ive decided this weekend Im going to make a food journal like BernardandMissBianca. I track everything on paper anyway as Im planning my meals. THEN after I eat, I re log everything into sparkpeople. It just seems like Im wasting my time doing both. So, I figured if I make a journal I can also add inspiring pictures, quotes etc that I can look at every day. We'll see how that goes.

Soooo, drum roll please........ I clocked in at 224.0 this am! That's a 4 pound loss!! :woohoo:

That's why I'm doing my paper journal too. I like adding in quotes, Lisa has some good ones. And I want to add pics and what not. Kind of like a vision board.

Congrats on the weight loss!! :woohoo:

Disappointed with the results that you saw on the scale today? Don't be! There are other ways to measure your success! :thumbsup2

Can I add one? How about how you feel overall. Not as tired, pukey, sluggish.
Since we stopped eating fast food and soda at the fast food I haven't had headaches, felt bloated and swollen, haven't needed maalox (I usually only get relief from this at Disney), I'm not winded climbing the stairs.

Heck I was outside for over an hour today shoveling the snow pile from the driveway to build a sled ramp for the kids. And I wasn't beat when I came in. I actually laced up my new sneakers and ran for about 5 minutes on the treadmill to check them out. The foot that doesn't hurt feels really good the one that hurts, well not so much but I have an appt on Thursday.

Usually I would talk to myself, even out loud and eat it anyway, then beat myself up about it. Last night I didn't even think about it. I just watched the movie and played sudoku on my phone.
I was hungry as all get out when I got up this morning but I ate my breakfast and was good til lunch.

27 MICKEYs have sent in weigh ins so far!

36 DONALDs have sent in weigh in so far!

I will post a who I'm still waiting to hear from post tomorrow night! I probably won't post another list until late Sunday night after the Patriots game!

Once again, Donald is leading the most pounds lost but Mickey is leading the average loss!

Have a great weekend!

QOTD: my routine is. pretty much. mental. like i have to force myself into it. I use EA Active 4-5 days a week (doing 30 day challenge). I also use the wii fit free step or free run while watching TV. I didn't have a loss this week, so i need to do more i guess. :(

Good morning Team Donald! I'm looking forward to a successful week 3 for everyone!

Many of my QOTDs this week will probably involve what your routine is. I am hoping by sharing, we will all learn from each other and come up with some new ideas!

1/14/11 Friday QOTD - What does a typical weekly exercise plan look like for you? How often, when and what do you plan to do? How often do you meet these goals?

I am trying to get a routine in. I walk every day during my dinner break at work. My building is 1/2 mile long, so we just go in the basement and walk. I need to get myself more motivated during the day to do a exercise DVD. I have been losing, so I plan on adding new exercises on each week.

I lost .6, which may not sound like much, but at this stage of the game for me, that is a very decent loss.

I lost .5 so I'm right there with you. Slow and steady wins the race sometimes :goodvibes

 Not a happy morning. As I was afraid, the scale didn't move.:guilty:

Better to not have moved than to have gone in the wrong direction ;)

Ugh. Can I just forget this week? :scared1:

That's okay sometimes I find it's just better to get past the bad week and move forward :thumbsup2

Awesome pic, pictures like that make me almost wish I was a runner. With a background like Disney I could almost picture myself doing it. Now if they had a marathon that was from ride to ride... :rolleyes1

I have a gain this week. Sorry, Donalds

No need to apologize. We've all been there. Take the ups with the downs and hopefully the downs outweigh the ups in the end :goodvibes

I weighed in down 2.4 more pounds for a total of 4.4 so far. :cheer2:

Yahoo great job :cool1:

Soooo, drum roll please........ I clocked in at 224.0 this am! That's a 4 pound loss!! :woohoo:

Awesome :thumbsup2

Ok, so I dropped 2 lbs!!! :cool1:

Sweet, you go!

Hi everyone! Just popping in for a quick update/QOTD answer. I had a loss this week , but not as big as I had hoped

Any loss is better than a gain.

Hi just popping in to say hello quick. I'm officially on team Donald as a maintainer.

A quick hello right back :goodvibes

Hi team Donald! I hope everyone is doing well this evening. It has been a little hard coming to post, but I have been moving along with my weight-loss. We have been snowed/iced in for most of the week, with the kids having missed an entire week of school. I can't wait to get out of the house this weekend!!

So... QOTD for today...

1/14/11 Friday QOTD - What does a typical weekly exercise plan look like for you? How often, when and what do you plan to do? How often do you meet these goals?

When I don't go to the gym and work out on the elliptical, I usually rotate a few exercise DVDs including a couple of kettle bell ones and various Tae Bo DVDs. I recently purchased the newest Tae Bo work outs, PT 24/7 and they are tough. I am looking forward to mastering them though!:thumbsup2 I usually give myself one or two rest days per week, Friday or Saturday and one day during the work week. I meet that goal very often.

Well, have a great evening everyone! Keep up the great work.
:woohoo:

Hi just popping in to say hello quick. I'm officially on team Donald as a maintainer.
I've had you on my mind. Glad you are here, even if not on my team. I'm a Mickey... Hang in there!

Hey everyone - I'm coaching Mickey this week, so my time is pretty limited, but I wanted to stop in and say hello, and let you know that Brad officially made it through 1 week with no "misses"! I got this am at 4 and made muffins for him to take to his employees to thank them for stepping up.

Sophie's bday went well, other than a drama episode with her insisting (and meaning it, not just for dramatic effect) that she wanted to die so she could go to heaven and see Poppie. I finally got her calmed down and distracted, but it pretty much set me off for the rest of the day.

Kathy - love your attitude with your loss. You go girl!
Lisa - I'm stealing some of your QOTD's from last week for Mickey this week. Hope you'll forgive the blatant plagarism, I am simply copy and pasting your words in the am! :lmao:
P - I love reading your advice!

Shawn - You are drinking a beeedooodle of water already, you are right! Did you watch the game (Vt/UNC). I want to comment, but don't want to spoil if you haven't seen/heard.

Everyone else - don't stress, or dive under a snowbank. You've got this! Keep on keeping on if you didn't have results on the scale you wanted. If you did, CONGRATS!

Ugh! Why does the second week seem so much harder? Doing the same eating and working out as the first, it just doesn't seem to be working as well. Weight loss this week, not as much as last, but everyday I seem to struggle in the late afternoons.

Ok venting over :)

It was a crazy week for me, but good!
ended up with 4lb loss :cool1:
got 4/5 on my quiz on my course :cool1:
Decided to start setting the alarm earlier and get up and do some WiiFit - did it 3 days this week :cool1: Plus show shoveling!
I have cut back on junk food and pop, and am feeling successful!

Got this quote on the daily newletter at work and thought it was appropriate for BL:
“Success is not built on success. It's built on failure. It's built on frustration. Sometimes its built on catastrophe. “ - Sumner Redstone

Thanks Lisa for another great job at coaching! :worship:

Thanks Dreamer24 for coaching this week :cool1:

1/10/11 Monday QOTD: Which strategy helps you reach your weight loss goals?
Starting & progressing slowly
Putting it on paper
Learning as much as possible
Utilizing plenty of social supports
Keeping things fun
Learning from my setbacks
Trust the plan
Consistency
All of the above
None of the above

Consistency! When I can get some consistency in food/activity then I lose. When I slip a little, I fall off track. I should know better, but I'm still prone to mistakes. Gotta keep rememberings:
If you break a dish emptying the dishwasher, you don't throw the rest of the dishes on the floor! :goodvibes

1/11/11 Tuesday QOTD What exercise excuse do you use most often?

* I don't have time
* I'm too tired
* It's too difficult for me
* It's boring
* I don't want people to see me
* I don't know what I'm doing
* I don't make any of these excuses

Definitely a tie between "I don't have time" and "I'm too tired".
I no longer accept those excuses. I AM WORTH MAKING THE TIME! :thumbsup2

1/12/11 WednesdayHow do the weekends affect your weight loss goals?

* They help- I do better than the weekdays
* They ruin them- I fall off the wagon completely!
* Not sure- They're just like any other days

The don't usually hurt or help. Weekends I am focussed on getting some studying done, some housework and having some fun and relaxing. My new goal with weekends, is BALANCE. I have to keep finding the balance between fun and chores so I can stay on track!

1/13/11 Thursday QOTD: Who is standing in your way? And more importantly, what are you going to do about it?
[/B]

I am going to keep doing what worked for me this week. DH is onboard with me getting up earlier, and isn't complaining when I go to sleep before him. He's accepted that if I'm consistently getting up 1.5hours before him, I'm going to be tired at night.

1/14/11 Friday QOTD - What does a typical weekly exercise plan look like for you? How often, when and what do you plan to do? How often do you meet these goals?

My biggest problem is not having an exercise routine. But for one week now, my routine is to get up at 5:45am 3 mornings during the week and going to do some WiiFit, then a short bath and off to work. :goodvibes And I will continue this routine (and aim to add more days, but 3 is the goal for now).

Ugh. Can I just forget this week? :scared1:

No weight loss. Sorry about that team.

Hurt my back, so no exercise. Ate out too much -- even though I tried to order good for me food. :)

Glad a new week is starting, so I can put this one behind me. :moped:

You deserve a :thumbsup2:cool1: for coming on and posting. A new week is a fresh start, and be proud for ordering some good for you food! and I hope your back is feeling better :goodvibes

I have a gain this week. Sorry, Donalds

If you are apologizing because it will motivate you to have a better week coming up, then great :thumbsup2.
If you just feel guilty or bad, then I will speak for the group and say, gain or loss, the goal is for everybody to be learning what works for them and to me mutually motivated.

this is directed to anybody having a bad week:
Don't feel bad! think about what you are going to different to improve things for YOUR own success and well-being!
I was weightkeeper for the last few challenges and saw many people feeling bad about gains and not wanting to let down the group, and then they disappear. Group dynamic is great if it is motivating and that is the goal.

and i think I'm starting to babble so i'm ending this post :goodvibes

I am so proud of myself-- I made up my own recipe! I am not a grab things and put them together kind of person. Even my salads are boring. I love to find new recipes but I am not very good at changing things. And I just don't make things up. But I really wanted my portobello mushrooms for dinner and couldn't find a recipe that I either liked or could make with the things I have in the house. So I grabbed some things that I thought I would like together and went for it! And they turned out great!

I did have a soda with dinner. I haven't had one since NYE. But I made a very conscious decision to have it, not just mindless reached for it. And I had a diet one. I think part of the battle is making sure I am not just reaching for what is quick and easy and that I have a reason for what I am consuming.

I have felt kind of blech today so I really think that I am dealing with hormones.

It is SO SAD that these hoards of people lining up for GB surgery aren't being taught better eating habits, portion control, exercises, nutrition, etc, etc.

The reputable places and doctors do. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately there are too many disreputable that are making this to easy. I am amazed at the number of people that actually leave the country and have it done because it is cheaper and easier. No need to meet any minimum requirement for preparing or qualifying, no need to follow up. Just pay your money and have major surgery.:sad2:

That's why I'm doing my paper journal too. I like adding in quotes, Lisa has some good ones. And I want to add pics and what not. Kind of like a vision board.
I have a friend that is doing a Weight Loss Scrapbook to document her journey.

Hey everyone - I'm coaching Mickey this week, so my time is pretty limited, but I wanted to stop in and say hello, and let you know that Brad officially made it through 1 week with no "misses"! I got this am at 4 and made muffins for him to take to his employees to thank them for stepping up.
That is wonderful to hear! :cool1:

Good morning Donalds!:donald: I'm going to break my response into 2 posts - there have been lots of posts since I came on here yesterday morning. I may need to check in again one more time during the day so I don't get so far behind. No more comments about my scale until I have something good to report! I got 18/21 HH for last week and aiming for 21/21 next week!

Good morning Team Donald! Just pm'd my weight and HH and am doing well. Total of 6.9 pounds in 1.5 weeks :cool1: I love the new WW Points Plus. Hope everyone has a great day!

:cool1:

[1/14/11 Friday QOTD - What does a typical weekly exercise plan look like for you? How often, when and what do you plan to do? How often do you meet these goals?[/COLOR]

I try to exercise daily for atleast 35 minutes. I go to a one hour yoga class on Weds and Fri, I run for 35 minutes on Sun, Tues and Thurs and I do my elliptical machine on Mondays and Saturdays. I have some new videos that I am figuring how to work into my routine. I did the 3 mile WATP twice last week when it was raining and I couldn't run outside. I also have 30 day shred and BL for Kinnect but haven't used them yet.

Hang in there! That darn scale. YOu are doing so much right, it will show eventually. I laughed at you joining the maintainers. I'm quite good at maintaining 210 and pretty much did it the past year. :rotfl: Don't give up. You can do this. Hugs to those who may not be happy with the scale today. It does stink when our hard work doesn't show in the numbers, but we know what we've done right, and we must not let that scale have the power. We have the power to make the positive changes in our lives to make us all healthier individuals.

Thanks Kathy:hug: CONGRATS on your .6 this week, you are right that will add up to a big number after a few weeks!

:rotfl: I wonder of once they are interested in girls, they might come around.

Oh yes they do;)

Kathy and P--Did I ever tell you about Tom and the shower? Those silly boys!

:rotfl2:

I point to people at the mall occasionally when I am with DD and say "Am I that size??" I

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, our bodies are trying HARD to hang on to every last ounce. Or we are retaining fluids that we might not even be aware of, due to hormonal issues. We ALL need to find the strength to go on after frustrating weeks when we don't lose.

I do this all the time, drives DH crazy. He says "I'm not playing this game".
Congrats on your .6 loss !!!
Thanks for this post, I need to hear it.

The scale didn't move as much as I wanted it to :( The week 2 curse :(
BUT I am NOT giving up.

Hang in there!:goodvibes Great attitude!

[I had a good cry after I wrote all that out yesterday.

 CONGRATS on losing ONE POUND!!!

 Not a happy morning. As I was afraid, the scale didn't move.:guilty: I am really not sure why because I have been doing fine on my eating. But it is right before TOM and I have been peeing like crazy so I am going to blame it on water retention and hormones and hope for a big result next week.

That scale is having some power over me right now but I am going to just prove to it that I am in control.

I am right there with you - we CAN do it!

Ugh. Can I just forget this week?

No weight loss. Sorry about that team.

Hurt my back, so no exercise. Ate out too much -- even though I tried to order good for me food.

Glad a new week is starting, so I can put this one behind me.

Good attitude. And, no need to apologize! Hope your back is feeling better!

Whew - a weekend in Disney, minimal tracking all week and....I am still on the Maintainer's team. Thank goodness! Actually, I had a loss even. You just never know.

And 13 little miles may have helped too:goodvibes

I do have to say I was not impressed with the scale today but seeing so many others with a low loss I feel better.. I know my weakness the last 2 days was the only food at work came very late (8:30-9 pm) and by then I was very hungry so ate more than I should (which then caused me to not sleep) So I need to figure out a plan to avoid that
Can you take some food to work with you? A banana or protein bar?

I have a gain this week. Sorry, Donalds

No need to apologize at all! It's a new week, you are still in the game!

I weighed in down 2.4 more pounds for a total of 4.4 so far.

For HH I got 19/21.

I got all 7 days of water and 6 on exercise and tracking.(rested Saturday just got busy and couldn't track Sat reliably so I just took it off) I'm a proud that I have tracked this consistently. Its a start and now I can start really planning and playing with the calorie range.

You are rocking it this challenge !!! WTG!!

I retain water like crazy! If I dont drink at least a gallon a day, I blow up like a blow fish and gain 5 pounds over night. And right before TOM is the worst
Am I strange that I have to get up and moving before I can weigh in? If I weigh as soon as I get up in the morning its always at least a pound heavier than if I get up, move around a bit, drink a couple of glasses of water and pee a couple of times. Usually, 10 ish is when I weigh. I think it has to do with how I retain fluids. I almost always wake up with swollen feet, eyes etc but give me an hour, some water and I'm ok. Just wonder if I'm the only one.

Soooo, drum roll please........ I clocked in at 224.0 this am! That's a 4 pound loss!!

:cool1: That's so interesting about your water retention. I may wait around in the morning before weighing, hoping for a bm:lmao: but I would never touch any water first. I may just have to try that one day and see what the scale says!

Ok, so I dropped 2 lbs!!!

:cool1: Good luck with your running shoes purchase!

Thanks for the hugs. I'm a little bummed that I didn't see a loss, but I guess not gaining is something to be thankful for! I thought I would see some results this week, especially with tracking my food. I've never done that before (thanks HH!) and really felt like for the first time ever I was paying attention to what I was putting into my body and making good choices. <sigh> Hopefully, I'm just waiting to hit it big next week!

Good attitude, hang in there!

Tell me more about 30 day shred!
I need to open mine:rotfl2:

Oh, another good thing - its cheap. I got mine for $10 or $15 at Walmart.

Got mine for $9 at WM the week after New Year's .

I am down 1.2 pounds. I was seriously worried that I had gained.

Disappointed with the results that you saw on the scale today? Don't be! There are other ways to measure your success! :thumbsup2

aJust because the scale has stopped moving doesn’t mean that you’ve hit a plateau in reaching your goals. Don’t give up out of frustration—all healthy behaviors are well worth the effort. Whether it’s better sleep at night or more energy throughout the day, start listening to the signs your body gives you that all of your hard work is paying off!

Thanks so much for posting this - I really needed to see it !!!
