Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Good morning!

Say, does anyone have the photo taken of the Rabbits during the Minnie WISH meet?

Sorry for being such a poor teammate, I haven't checked in here in a while but will do so going forward.

Numbers for May 1 - 7

Miles: 31.89 (that includes the double for the races)
Hours: 2.62

Sorry for the slow week, but I chose not to do any workouts other than the races for the Minnie. This week will be a different story for sure as I've already had a big mile logging weekend :goodvibes:

Just popping in to say !! I don't have anything to share, unfortunately. But I am going to nag Stephen until he posts his numbers (I know he hasn't in a while) because he biked 52 miles on Saturday and then had the Flying Pig half last Sunday. Good week for him!!

Krista

Howdy Team! It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten a chance to get on here (longer than I even care to guess). Sorry for my absence, although I’m going to stop apologizing and just start keeping up with you guys.

Swim-mom—glad to hear everything should be ok!

Craig, Martha, Scott, Amy, and others at the Minnie—glad you all had a great time down there! wow, it looks like you guys cranked out some really good 15k times. Great job!

Ok, here are my miles and hours for (ahemm….) the last 3 weeks. I actually had to go back to my last post to find the point that I had stopped reporting miles.

April 19 – 25: 42 miles, 6.5 hours

April 26 - 30: 29 miles, 4.5 hours

May 1 – 7: 67.2 miles, 7.5 hours

As Krista said, I did get out for a long bike this weekend, but it won’t show up till next weeks miles. Oh, along the same lines, I ended up buying a tri-bike last week! I had been eyeing them for some time, and finally broke down and bought one from a guy who had put about 400 miles on it before he realized he didn’t like triathlons (so his loss is my gain, I guess). Here is a picture of the bike (not my actual bike, but the exact model):

So I’m pretty excited about that. Now I guess I actually have to do a few more tri’s to justify this thing.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and that you all have a good week, too. Talk to you all soon (and I do mean sooner than 3 weeks! :) ).

Steve

Scott - we've got a good pic of the team. I'll get it posted tonight.

Hello Everybody

Thanks to everyone for the information and greetings. Right now I'm mentally incapable of updating anything (end of semester fatigue, 4 hours teaching in a program in the am, 4 hours teaching in a different program in the pm) without endangering myself or perhaps even others, so I'll get it all in the next couple of days.

Take care all. I'll be more lively soon.

Craig

Thanks for the photos!!! We bunnies are looking good!!

Great pics!! I am sorry i wasn't able to make the meet -- decided to go to Epcot early...

Great pics! Looks like you guys had a good time!

Wow, I actually had no idea we had so many Rabbits at the Minnie. Did you guys heckle the other teams while you were there? It would only seem fitting that we should do that. ;)

Thanks for the pics. A happy bunch, anticipating the next morning's race. And thanks for the kind offer to step in on the numbers. I leave Monday evening, so will be caught up to then. I am taking my computer and the apartment has high speed internet, so allegedly I'll be able to keep up. I cannot promise anything, however, as I've been given permission by Martha to find a job with Moet et Chandon, and never come back (she'll follow me). If I feel that I cannot keep up, I'll let you know.

Steve

Man, that bike looks fast standing still! You are showing the truth that we males never really grow up, it's just we have more money to buy cooler stuff.

I would like to point out Teri, Outonarun, in our team photo. She is on the left in the red shirt. I ran with Teri on Minnie 15K day from the start for about 1/2 of a mile. Teri was great company and we had a nice chat, but man is that woman fast. After the 1/2 mile I realized I needed to let her go, or I would get to mile 8 and then fall over and pass out. Teri asked me if I was sure, and when I said yes, she politely said goodbye, and then took off like a Ferrari. I don't know what time she ran the 15K in, but I am 100% certain she was the #1 finisher in the Wish group.

I have been taking it really easy since the 15K. I've done only 2 bike/weight sessions, and tomorrow will be the 2nd run since May 4. Sorry, but I'm not contributing many miles or hours.

Best

Craig

Numbers for May 8-14:

Hours: 4.40
Miles: 20.4

Things are going all well with me. We ordered a Garmin 205 as a combined Mother's Day / Father's Day gift, and it arrived today. I've been playing around with it, and am looking forward to my first chance to run with it. (probably this weekend)

:yay:

I've not had a very good week. Yesterday morning, while driving to work, I was rear-ended. We were all stopped in traffic and the woman behind me accelerated before anyone else did and plunked into my bumper. She did hit me hard enough to throw me back against the seat. As I got out of the car and dialed 911--which NO ONE answered, yeah, real helpful--the cars were going around us yelling at me to move the car!! Um, I just had a car accident and thanks so much for asking if anyone was hurt!

I did continue on to work, called and dealt with the insurance stuff and seemed OK. About mid- day I realized I was more rattled than I thought as I just couldn't focus real well. Then this morning I woke up more stiff than I anticipated. So I stayed home and got in to see the doctor today. She said I'm fine but will be sore.

So, although I had planned to get some exercise in, I think I'll not tomorrow. We'll see how I feel this weekend.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great evening.

Martha - thank goodness it wasn't anything severe! Glad to hear you're just sore but definitely take it easy.

As for my numbers, far from stellar. Could not hit my stride when I went out to walk then got sick (thanks Patrick).

However I do have a 5K on Saturday, a 15 mile bike ride for American Cancer Society on Sunday then Monday start my official training for the Chicago 1/2 marathon in August. Figure I did 9.3 miles for the Minnie, what's another 4 miles? (Still wondering when that thinking happened....)

So for May 8-14:
Miles 10.1
Hours 2.0

Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks to all the WISH team members for a great Minnie Marathon Weekend. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you all and getting to know some of Jessica's Rabbits in person. I wish we didn't have to wait until Jan '09 to do it again. I encourage any of you who can make it to come! It is something to look forward to, and to think about during all the training miles ahead, which I am sure you all have planned out in your training schedules.:thumbsup2

Craig -- Thank you for your kind words. I feel very special. Two years ago at my first WISH pre-race meet, I was so shy that I hardly spoke to anyone, but was warmly embraced and involved just the same. Being singled out for something positive is a great gift, not to mention a huge confidence builder for me. I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness, as well as the energy and effort you put into this group.

Liz -- Thank you so much for the great picture from the Minnie meet and for taking the time to put it out there on the web so we can all see it.

RedDragon -- My gosh, what a difficult chain of events! You poor Dear. I hope you are beginning to feel better, and that you are indeed "fine," though sore.

I was on vacation for quite a while, am settling in back home now, and have begun a 10-week training schedule. I want to learn how to run at a steady pace so I can lead a WISH pace group in January.

I might be missing a week of miles, so I will check... I know there is a thread/post somewhere that shows this info.

Here are my miles for:

May 3-9
6.5 hours (390 minutes)
50 miles

May 10-16
(31 miles)
5.5 hours (332 minutes)

:goodvibes Best to everyone. Please be good to yourselves. Be well, and enjoy the spring weather.

Teri

Great news - The mass that was removed from my breast is not cancer :cool1: :cool1:

I am able to start running again, but I have to be carefull I still have stitches in my breast (they will dissolve) the inside ones have already. Which is why I can start running again. Can I tell you how guilty I feel not being able to run :confused3

Anyway, here are my numbers :)

miles - 4 (2 days of PT for my neck)

Time - 2 hours

If the rain stops, I will be out there today :)

Numbers for May 8-14....

Miles - 72.39 (yay bike!)
Hours - 7.63

I'll catch up here later...promise!

Good for you and better SwimMom.

I have rejoined the human world, or at least I think I have. My grades are all in and I was able to workout in the middle of the day today with zero need to rush back and do something. My plan is to train easy for a few more weeks and then start to point to a fast Tower of Terror and the Goofy.

For all of you, thanks. If I name names I'll be sure to leave some folks out unfairly, but you guys have been a delight. Seeing you 2 weeks ago and running with many of you on the course was great. Some I've known for a while, some for just a couple of months (and 1 for 30 years :lovestruc ), but you've pushed me to better things in the past few months. When I was training for the Minnie 15K I kept thinking about you all, your great results, and it pushed me to train harder and smarter. I trained alone physically, but never mentally, which helped so much.

I will get the numbers all into the book in the next few days.
