Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

:grouphug: Two of my workouts this week would not have happened if it weren't for being apart of this team... sometimes, running or riding a bunch more miles, just for me, isn't motivation enough. Getting out and exercising used to come easily for me, but lately it has been a real challenge.

:goodvibes Thanks, all. :goodvibes

Miles: 55
Hours: 5:22

Best to all,

Teri

Warning: Selfish bragging alert

Hi bunnies!!

I PR'd today!! Ran my 5k in 23:46!!!

End Selfish bragging alert
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I celebrated my double mileage 5k by heading over to the trail and completing a 20 mile bike ride (1:09:37) :goodvibes: Must have been motivated by the fact that I'm on the RABBITS...ran a race called hoya and the HARE...and it's Easter weekend, symbolized by the chocolate BUNNY :goodvibes:

Have a great weekend everyone!

Congratulations Scott

I think that works out to 7:40 per mile for the 3.11 miles. Given what you did 2 years ago in your first 5K, that is an amazing progression. You are justifiably very pleased with your result today.

Way to go Teri

Your weekly number has put us ahead by 1 mile over team 1 in the YTD score sheet. Thank you!

Well, I had planned to blow out 3 miles on the track today, but failed miserably. My excuse is I spent the morning scouring, spraying, peeling, and scraping off old and totally icky wallpaper from a bathroom. This took a lot more out of me than I'd thought, as when I stepped onto the track, my first warm up mile felt like crap, and it went downhill from there.

I did 1 easy to warm up, 1 in 8:05, 1 easy, 1 in 8:09, and was blown. I had planned for 2 more miles, 1 easy and 1 around 8, but I did 3/4 of a mile and stepped off. The intervals had no elan or flow at all, just muscle.

It's funny, but everytime I do something strenous around the house the day of a hard training run, I'm empty even before I start. Hopefully I'll get that stupid wallpaper off (and Martha was a huge help with it today) before I have another optomistic day.

Best to all

Craig

Hey guys! It's the bad, bad team member who hasn't had a legitimate chance to check in for the past several weeks. I am truly sorry. I haven't had much of a chance to breathe or sit down the past month, much less get online. I have high hopes that the craziness with work will end after next week. We shall see.

Thanks, everyone, for the congrats. Krista and I are pretty excited. And yes Craig, I am already pondering the gross, obnoxious things I can teach the additional male in the family. :)

Here are my totals for the week:

39 miles
5.5 hours

The busyness at work has caused my training to suffer slightly this week. Hope I can get back on track next week.

I'm going to make a real attempt to actually catch up with you guys this week. Good job on the training, all. Hope everyone has a great Easter.

Steve

I wanted to get this in before tomorrow. Happy Easter, Bunnies! (And no, I don't want to bite your heads off! I reserve that pleasure for the chocolate kind...)

Happy Easter fellow bunnies! I hope everyone has a lovely day. We don't celebrate the holiday any more. When DD was younger and we lived in warmer climes, we'd dye eggs and let her hunt for them. She's too old for that now and it's cold here in MA so I didn't know it was even this weekend until about a week ago! Ah well.

Miserable cold had me resting yesterday. I came home from work early on Friday and finished working while sitting on the couch. It was good to be able to rest my head when I was feeling whoozy. Then yesterday I was able to wallow in bed a while and pretty much be a slug. I was feeling better by the end of the day and I've been drug free for almost 24 hours! Woo-hoo! I'm hoping I can get in some workout today. I was supposed to run 5 miles this weekend to keep on track for Minnie training. We'll see what happens.

Calcio: dude--rest! After yesterday's wallpaper exercise, it's a miracle you even ran at all!

Scott: WTG! Congrats on the PR. Awesome job.

deekaypee: thanks for the happy wishes!

Have a great day everyone!

Hello fellow Rabbits!!

Krista, Steve - congrats on finding out it's a boy!

Scott - WTG on the PR!

Swim mom - hope your midterm went well.

Teri - WTG on getting out there! I certainly know what you mean about having inspiration to get in those workouts some days.

Martha - nice of someone to keep you up to date on medical procedures! Hope your mom is doing ok.

Martha & Craig - yep THE Alton Brown. I'll let Patrick reply too but just wanted to let you know we did get couple pics and signatures. He really is too cool. BTW, he'll be at the Gaylord Palms in Nashville in August. Don't have dates yet but can let you know if interested. They offer a chance to go to a small reception with him, too. I am SO going!

My numbers for last week:

19.86 miles
5:20 hrs

Going to have to figure out where to get in additional miles since working out with the trainer gives me time (and sore muscles the next day) but no miles. Also hoping the weather finally starts to improve around here so I can get my 6 mile walk in Saturday outside. Working on building for Minnie 15k and still concerned about time.

Hope everyone has a great start to the week!

Helloooo Everyone !

Hours and miles will follow later today, forgot to grab figures from whiteboard for submittal.

Martha and Craig: Like Liz said, Alton gave a short talk and presentation on the building blocks of food and cooking, then took some questions submitted before the talk, a la James Lipton.
He was funny, and intelligent, and it was a very fast hour.
The same could not be said for the line-up to have books signed.
It was JUST this side of interminable, largely due to poor crowd-management on the part of the museum.
Kudos to AB for his Patience and infinite good humor.
We had picked up his latest book just the night before, and Liz had it for him to sign. Since he is a motorcyclist, and I am one too, I thought it would be cool to have him sign my old helmet that had to be retired last fall.
Alas, I was not quite as original as I thought. Another guy in the group of about 1000 also brought his helmet, recently scarred up in a fall, for signature. And he was ahead of me in line.
Since his helmet bore the recent marks of ill-fortune, AB wrote "To Scott; The rubber side goes Down!" and added his "AB" and a quick caricature of himself.
On my lid, I got the following directions, which I plan to follow religiously: "To Pat; Ride, Eat, Repeat!" and the caricature and "AB" too.
It was a long wait, over 2 hours, for the all-to-brief moment with the man.. But the helmet will be on display in a place of prominence.. As soon as I can figure out such a place that Liz approves. Evidently, on top of the living-room audio rack, is not such a place. I know, I tried it out.

Hopes of Good Weather to all you Bunnies, and congrats on the PR's and teh sheer persistance to keep racking up the minutes and miles.

Good week and good numbers to all !!!

Patrick

SwimMom - what is your field of study? I hope it wasn't too difficult. I'm facing the opposite situation today, I have 65 finance midterms which I need to get graded this weekend.

Midterm was not too bad, since I completed it :) The hardest aspect is juggling with the 4 children and Dh for the time to research it. I'm getting my Masters in Adolescent Counseling, and I love it :lovestruc After this semester (which ends May2nd) I only have one more academic semester in the summer then I have a year of internship.......then FINALLY I AM DONE

Its been a long haul, but I thank god I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

I hope hope you were able to complete your midterms too :)

P.S. I did get my third run yesterday and I will also be doing a 5K on Sunday, so finally I may hit 4 days of running this week!! :yay:

Hi All,

My usual apologies for it being late:

7.51 miles and 1 hr 9 min

A low week. Like Stephen, work has become a bit crazy the last few weeks, so I have had to step back on my time. But, I've stepped up to a run5/walk1 interval from a 4/1, so that's a plus :goodvibes

Have a great week, all.

- Jeff

My totals for last week: march 15 - 21

Miles: 12.6
Time: 325/ 5:25

Sorry for the late post - we've been on vacation!!

After unpacking, laundry, etc maybe I'll have time to catch up on all the threads.
I did see that Steve and Krista had good news and great pictures to share - Congrats on the baby boy - the pictures were fun to see. Thanks for sharing!

Kathy

Hi Guys..

Just wanted to say that we've posted another consistent over 300 mile week and we haven't even heard from everyone yet!!! I'm so impressed with you guys...working out on vacation (Kathy!), getting miles in despite work being crazy (Jeff, Swim-Mom and Steve!), Posting BIG run and bike miles week after week (Erin, Scott and Steve!) Great job! I'm not sure how long we can hold onto the mile lead with so many people on other teams posting big 100+ weeks consistently :worship: ; but I think we have nothing to be ashamed of. We're hanging on to that lead by a thread. Maybe we can all get the bikes out next week to bump our mileage LOL!!!??? ;)

Martha: Glad you're feeling better!

Craig: Sorry about that Saturday run...I had the THE SAME thing happen to me on Sunday :(. Went out for 8 and had to stop at 6. My pace was great but it felt like I was powering through every step. Felt like I'd injure myself if I kept going so I made a "smart" choice for a change ;). Let's get out there and knock it out of the park this weekend! :thumbsup2

Have a great week everyone...and happy training! :goodvibes

Thanks for the numbers everyone, I have them up through this point.

Well, I figured out why my speed workout Saturday was a bunch of garbage. Early Sunday morning I got real sick real fast. So I was fighting with a failing body.

The last 2 days were terrible, but today I feel better and am actually back in the office. At the end of the day I'll do a gentle bike and lift to try to purge this crap.

Amy

Yes, we are right there, and should be in the mix all year. I suspect the 2 teams with the big bikers will ride away from us, but we'll be competitive.

Best to all

Craig

Hello Fellow Bunnies!

Posted this on the weekly thread:

Did a 4.33 mile walk yesterday in 70 minutes! I know that's slow but I'll take it (for now ). Some small hills and lots of wind, felt good afterward. Only minor shin pain about 15 min in but stretched and massaged it out and never came back.

Going to get in another 4 miles after work tonight and hoping for same result. (well actually hoping for improvement but that's me...expecting too much too soon).

Craig - Pat and I will be racking up more bike miles soon since we have the two day 75 mile ride end of May and a couple other bike events over the summer. Gotta keep helping out our team!

Hi everyone,
Work takes over big time! Is anyone going on vacation and do they need help with their luggage?!!!

I ran 3 miles yesterday but it wasn't good. I had a spectacular run on sunday, 1 hour and felt great. OK, interesting.

Have a great evening everyone!!

What's up Rabbits?? :goodvibes:

While checking out the spreadsheet today, I noticed a few members of the team who we haven't heard from in a while...if you are out there, can you check in to let us know how you are doing???

disneybelle
julia & nicks mom
little gray donkey
mousemgr2
caitsmama

Just want to know if you guys are ok...I know there has been sickness and vacations and what not over the course of the last month...if you are out there, let us know how you are doing (and report miles and/or hours if you have them!)

Have a good day!!

Hi, i am one that didn't report last week -- but i reported the week before right???

On the plus,i am back into it this week!

Stacy! 6 miles is NOT slacking for a holiday week. WTG girl! Thanks for posting
