Jeanne,
I feel like I'm messing up your chance to get a ride from Mel - if you want to take her up on it, I don't mind. Or if you want more room in the cab, I wouldn't mind riding with Mel, the WISH-shirt hero of 2008.
Jen,
I wonder if we are going to continue getting new teammates as the year goes on. I would be happy to sponsor the purchase of some reasonable quantity of just-in-case extra fabric. Sometimes stuff disappears as the seasons change. Somebody stop me if I am sounding like a crazy person.....
Training - So I am getting less worried about being able to actually go on the trip and actually finish these races. I went out today and did 6.75 miles in the rain with the dog, who has now tested negative for the giardia that would have kept him out of the boarding daycare place next week. He is turning into a good running buddy. My feet and ankle are doing pretty good - I am going to ice again in a bit, just to be safe. I walked up the hills, to conserve energy, as well, which makes an amazingly HUGE difference. They are big hills and one of them just keeps on going and going.
By the time I stopped, I really felt like I had a few more miles in me, but it started to rain harder again, so I headed for home. Didn't want to overdo on my first big run in a while. As it was, my running clothes were soaked like a bathing suit. I'm not sure if I am going to get another good longer run in before the race or just call it good. I hate winging it with training, but when things get so messed up, what else can you do?
