Teachers, educators and parents who can't do the 2010 podcast cruise

Would you be interested in a Universal/RCCL Land / Sea Podcast Cruise?

  • Yes, definately

  • Possibly, if the price is right

  • Probably not, but I could be convinced

  • No way - I'm a "Disney Only" person

We would be interested if the timing was right. We couldn't do the first or the second cruise because of the kids school schedule. We haven't been to Universal in ages, so it would be a nice change.

Rick's been wanting to do Universal and I've been holding out for Harry's world to open............

Count us in too!

This last cruise was Rick's first and I think Pete's created a cruise animal........

:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 Thanks Pete!

I already have tickets to Univeral burning a hole in my pocket! Can't wait to ride the new coaster and see Harry Potter "world"

I think if we got a good rate and the timing was right, we'd be able to go. This is an exciting possibility!!!!

Our family is definately interested in this. We like Universal and try to visit at least once a year. Harry Potter is high on our list to see.

As Paul said...If our friends are there so are we. :thumbsup2

We would LOVE To go! My DH does not like to cruise but I am sure Kim (Jacksmom99) and JACK! would LOVE to come!

Pete- One thing I would ask you to consider: Only schools where it is warm get out in May or even early June. Most of the school sup north get out mid to late June (this year, June 24th) so a cruise mid-july (maybe right after the 4th rush is over) would be ideal for most teachers, I think. It is before the "warmer" states go back and right after the "colder" states go out.

I am thrilled at the possibility!!!
:worship:

Oh Summer of 2010 would be perfect!!!! I'd be out of school and celebrating my 40th b-day July 2010.

Universal/RCCL are both great products and much more affordable than Disney.

Thanks for considering this. It does mean a lot!!!!

Count us in!!! My wife and I have wanted to take the kids on a cruise for a while now. This would be a perfect excuse and would give us plenty of time to save up for it.

Pete,
This would be SO AWESOME!!! Thanks so much for thinking of us teachers, it really means a lot!!!:thumbsup2
Can't wait to see how this unfolds.
Lesley

Pete,
Thank you so much for thinking of "us".

This week I was gathering quotes for this EXACT vacation from Dreams.

We have cruised RCCL in the past and they are great and we really.. I mean REALLY want to see the HP world. Do you think it will be open? Do you have any info that you can share?

Michelle

Oh, this looks so cool! I am a huge HP fan, and I would also love to sail/socialize with my friends here!! I think it's great of you to think of us, Pete!! :goodvibes I can also echo Dave's points about RC being fairly family friendly. We went in 2006 with a five and two-year-old, and had a ball (other than the cramped cabin we had, but it was a Christmas gift from my folks, so I can't really complain). I would think, especially on a newer ship (we were also on one of the oldest ships), that would be better.

Unfortunately, my sister-in-law and I are in charge of planning a major grand gathering that summer, and I don't think there's any way we could swing both financially. I am very bummed - but also very glad others will get to experience it. Maybe, if it's at the same time, I can meet up with some of you!!! My husband is indulging me with a day at Universal after everyone else goes home just to see HP, so I should be there at some point.

Thanks again, Pete!

We certainly would consider it. DW & I have been discussing going on another cruise. Thanks for thinking of us teachers!

We would also consider it, but it would all depend on what the final pricing came out to for us.

Thank you for considering an option like this.

Even though I'm going on the PC2 cruise, I definitely would be interested in this. The only reason I wouldn't take advantage of going in 2010 is because I already have big summer plans, and can't swing both.

Hey Pete, Working in Print Publishing at a University, May - early Oct is my busiest time. June is our Fiscal Year end which brings in lots of last minute spenders. July 1 -15 is usually our slowest time in the summer months as it seems like the University Community takes a breather on ordering printing between Fiscal Year end and Gear up for Fall Semester start. So unless the price is significantly better than the Dec Cruise and the dates work, I will probably stay on course to cruise in December on DCL.

Wow, a cheaper cruise would be great. A nice one last hurrah before I hole myself away to get another degree. We'll see how it goes, since I will likely not be making loads of money at that point. I love Universal, though, and I am DYING to meet some of the Podcast folks in person.

Great idea, Pete! It's a nice thing for people like me who are more than a little depressed every time they hear the Podcast Cruise (one, two, OR three) being discussed at length. I hate to admit it because I would be a spoil sport, but its true.

I'm so glad to see many of the PCC 1.0 and 2.0 cruisers trying to butt our way in on this. I was thinking it would be just me :cool2: My vote has been counted. Pete, you really need to figure out a Dreams Unlimited Visa Card deal somewhere.

Are you asking for a Dreams Unlimited rewards program? :) One Point for every dollar spent with Dreams?
Glad you are considering Stacy. Sorry we didn't get to meet at PC 1.0.

Summer is great...especially if it is somewhat removed from the holidays (4th, Memorial, Labor, etc.)

Teachers and such aren't the only ones limited. I work for the post office and it is in our contract that we cannot have any time off from (appx.)December 1-24th. So any December outings are always out for me, as is-obviously- Podcast Cruise 2.0.:guilty:

Thanks so much for considering those of us who are so interested in joining but have schedule conflicts! :goodvibes
