My standard teacher gift was a gift card to Barnes & Noble bookstore. There is one in the area, and they could purchase books (or other items) for their personal use or for the classroom/school.

Also always gave a gift, usually a card with cash, to the bus driver.

Please no more mugs, cups, or glasses of any kind - I have them everywhere and I don't use any of them for drinking. If you want to buy something teachery, maybe their favorite type of pen/marker - the Paper Mate Flair Felt Tips are very popular.

I like to receive something that shows that my students really know me. My students know my favorite kind of Snapple and my favorite candy bar. I have received many student drawings of Disney characters! I do not expect anyone to spend much, but a thank you card is always appreciated.

When my own kids were in middle and high school, I started giving scratch off lottery tickets. I found ones that were school colors. I put them in a thank you card and that was a hit.

If you give gift cards, the most popular in our area are Amazon, Target, and Dunkin'.

A nice note from your child and a gift card! Since teachers do not make a ton, they are very much appreciated. Plus, it is nice to get a little,treat that they may not otherwise buy for themselves.

I have three teachers in my immediate family and I can assure you that gift cards are most appreciated. Find out what the teacher likes or which restaurant s/he likes and get the appropriate gift card.
Please, no cheap candy. I have thrown away pounds of nasty candy.

I'm a teacher and as many others have said, gift cards are great or consumables - It's always nice to get a treat of our favorite candy.

I usually go with classroom/office supplies--inkjoy gel pens, sharpened ticonderoga pencils, binder clips and paper clips in fun colors--along with a Target gift card, because the Target's in our area sell wine.

One year I actually bought bottles of wine and made labels for them and took them and dropped them off at the office. The labels were like "Since my kid is the reason you drink, have one on me!" or "My kid wanted to make you a gift, so he crushed these grapes himself"

For a couple of years the gifts for the of age daycare teachers was always alcohol lol. But I knew the teachers and knew it would get used.
Our district is pretty rural, and there is absolutely nothing besides a dollar general near the school. Oh, and cows There are fields with cattle on 3 sides. And the nearest town does not have a Starbucks. But it does have a place that does those Herbalife drinks that are so popular right now, like the loaded teas and such. So I went with $10 gc for there.Teacher's appreciation week is really next week, but our school is doing it this week, so I was unprepared. I didn't have time to run to Target to get gc which was my initial plan. I don't know why we chose to live somewhere that has nothing....

Target gift card. They can get clothes, school supplies, food, etc. Always with a personal note about something specific they did that helped my kid. They have such a hard job!

I am not a teacher. I have always given gift cards to local businesses (food, coffee, gift shop, etc.). That way both benefit. The feedback has always been positive.

My go-to is a gift card attached to a small inexpensive gift. My reasoning is this… I work with kids, although I am not a teacher. Gift cards are greatly appreciated… but when they’re gone, they’re gone. Small items like a fun pen, spatula, fuzzy socks, etc. - there’s a chance they may end up in the donation bin. But if they don’t, they’re a fond reminder of the gift giver that the recipient sees over and over. They have more staying power. So my thought is generally to cover both bases if possible.
