What is this I hear about a Tea on board the ship? Is this anything like the Character breakfast? Which from what I hear is ok for adults as well as kids?

The Royal Court Tea is not really about tea and is a character experience largely for children. A child must have a paying adult along. The adult price is a lot cheaper than the child, as the child gets a bunch of stuff and the adult gets... A finger sandwich.

So it is not so much "okay for adults" as a child who attends must have a chaperone. I saw a group book like 6 adults with 2 kids but that is unusual.

Sounds like this may not be what I was hoping for.
So no platters full of finger sandwiches, scones, and pots of tea I take it?

No, what you are thinking of is more of a formal tea service and to my knowledge that is not offered on any of the ships.

You can occasionally get scones, pastries and some light snacks in the Cove Cafe (All ships - Adults only area) and the Little Cafe in the Atrium (Deck 4 on the Dream/Fantasy) depending on the time of day.

They do have a phenomenal selection of tea upstairs in the drink stations available 24 hours a day and I believe they offer this in the main dining rooms also, but I have not tried. I usually drink coffee on the ships.

Yeah, this is not a formal tea of that nature. There is singing and dancing and princess photo ops. Kids get giant princess theme cupcakes. Adults get sad tea bags and hot water.

There used to be an afternoon tea at Palo, with finger sandwiches and scones. It was discontinued several years ago, apparently to make time for more brunch seatings.

This was before my time but basically the same thing I heard. I wish they would bring it back though at least one or two days on the ship. I love a formal afternoon tea.

There are lots of good options for this at the WDW and Disneyland Resorts that seem to be popular but not on the ships unfortunately.

I’m not sure if you are in a cruise group for your sailing but our cruise group was able to make a private event for tea. I am not planning this but I made a screenshot of what is being done and to be honest I am actually really surprised with the cost. In fact I won’t believe it until I see it.

I’m actually surprised at Disney hasn’t caught up with maybe a potential demand for something like this. A more adult themed, real type of British tea I’m pretty sure and see days money would go for this.5B8CCCB2-0282-4D81-B8E4-CA6950E878F6.jpeg

At that low cost, I wonder if you could just pay the 250 bucks and have your own private tea! Invite some friends or some other fun people you meet on the ship.

That or reach out to room service once on board and see if there are any options they have for you. The room service Cast members are some of my Favorite people on board and they love making magic.

$10 sounds certainly cheap for an Afternoon Tea on a Disney ship. Would love if this would be available as a regular offer!
