Can anyone tell me about their experience at the afternoon tea at the GF? Do you need to book this in advance? Can you use the DDE? Thanks.

I loved it. The day before my wedding, I treated several of my close friends
to GF tea. It was perfect. . .very relaxing, quiet. . .the perfect place for a jittery bride. They have several selections. You receive tea sandwiches, along with your hot or cold tea. Then for some of the choices you get dessert as well as an "appetizer" type item. It varies.

The room is lovely and quaint. From the female standpoint, it was something I would do over and over. Now, for my DH, that would probably be a different story. I drug him to tea with me on one of our alone WDW trips. Although he really did enjoy it, it wasn't enough food for him.

It was not crowded, but I made ADR anyway. I believe they take the DDE, but I am not 100% certain. I highly recommend it.

Enjoy!

I am moving this over to our Restaurants Board since it is not DVC related. Thank you.

1) Good experience
2) We do it at least once per year.
3) You need an ADR, because it does fill up quickly.
4) I like the Darjeeling, and the wife likes the Oolong.

NOTE: The experience is nice, but I wish the tea were different. They only service Orange Pekoe and Broken Orange Pekoe tea.

If it's something you would like to do, I would make an ADR, it's a small room and fills up quickly. I enjoyed it a few years ago and am going again next week. Last time I had the Buckingham Palace and I was very full by the time I left. It's a very nice place to take a break from the parks.

I LOVE  the tea at the Grand Floridian. It's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the parks. The food is wonderful and you do have choices of teas! (Just ask your server for a suggestion to go with your selection--I haven't been steered wrong yet!)

We love it, and they do take DDE (at least until the November DDE changes get announced).

They had a nice selection of teas, also. They brought over a box with the different teas in little bottles, so you could sniff and decide which one was your 'cuppa'.

Enjoy!

I loved it!!! :goodvibes I have a DH, 2 DS (and a male cat at home) - I never get to do anything girly on vacation, until I went to DW with some girlfriends in February. We went to the tea and it was so much fun. I had the finger sandwiches, a scone and a tart. All tasted fresh and so yummy. The place is beautiful and the windows look out onto the grounds of GF. You'll love it!!!
