Is it better to go with one of the "set" offerings, such as The Grand Tea or order a la carte? I've spent time in England but don't actually know much about tea. I'm just trying to find girly things for my sister and I to do on our trip.

My mom and I went with the set offering, I forget what it was called. Maybe the Buckingham? Anyway, it had tea sandwiches, scones, tarts, and pastries. I may be missing something. Anyway, it was wonderful. It would have been hard for me to choose a la carte anyway. We both loved it and I would recommend the experience to anyone.

Hubby and I went to the tea recently. They offer two really great groupings of food/tea. We each ordered one of them..different items on each and then sampled each others offerings.

It was all excellent..we would definately do it this way again.
A great way to get a sampling of all there is to offer.

Do you know if you need a PS for tea? We are going Nov 11-20 and I'd really like to take my DD there for a special afternoon with just the two of us.

Definately go with a PS! I was surprised at how difficult it was to obtain one in early December last year and many folks without one were turned away from the tea because they didn't have one.
To the OP--we really enjoyed the Buckingham Palace! I ordered a cinnamon tea that was wonderful!
