We ate at Emirel's last year and the family really loved it. I was thinking about making a ressie at Tshoup Chop this time but I've also read some good things about The Kitchen. Has anyone eaten at both and good give me some advice?

I have not eaten at the kitchen but figured I'd answer and bump this up because on one else had yet.
We ate at the Tchoup chop and loved it. Great service, great food and atmosphere. We didn't care for Emerils but loved the Tchoup chop.

We did the opposite - had to cancel our Tchoup-chop reservation and ended up at Mythos (also great)!

But wanted to say that we did eat several times at The Kitchen this past weekend - one night with 10 and everyone loved their meal - next night 3 went back and had different entrees - all raved on again - on the last night a few of us went back for appetizers (so we would have tummy room) and desserts - because the desserts looked so awesome the nights before and we were too full after the dinner entrees! We ate outside each time and loved it!! The effervescent MaryBeth and handsome Chris made all our meals there wonderful - went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we wanted and needed! Rumor is that they are preparing to expand the outdoor eating area - great idea - nice to have a great restaurant so close at hand when you are too tired to venture away from the hotel!:smooth:

Wow, that's a tough one.:scratchin I have been to both and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. We went to Tchoup Chop in August and the atmosphere, service, food and drinks were excellent. We went to The Kitchen in December, and the atmosphere, service, food and drinks were excellent.

If I had to choose between them in the future, it would boil down to what type of food I was in the mood for, and the atmosphere I think those in my party would enjoy most. Tchoup Chop is much more exotic both in food and decor, while The Kitchen has more classic American fare with a gourmet flair. The atmosphere is totally different--much more steel and monochromatic schemes if I recall. Personally, I think I would choose The Kitchen, but I can see how others would choose Tchoup Chop. Oh--if this is important to you, there is a children's play area off in one corner of the Kitchen. It's great if you have kids, but easily overlooked if you are not seated near by--just request your table accordingly.

So how much is a meal for two at the Kitchen? roughly.... I know at Tchoup Tchoup it can be around $100.

About the same Spidey. DH and I split an app. and split a salad and ordered our own entrees. Each of us ordered a cocktail as well. Too full for desert. Our total was $85 and we left $15 or $20 for the tip.

They both sound like good choices. Maybe I'll be decadent and set up ressies for both!:D

Kaygela--if you can fit them both in time wise and budget wise going to both would be great. Then you can field this question next time it comes along.

We did have a reservation for Tchoup Chop but did not have one for The Kitchen. Since we were staying at HRH, we just stopped by The Kitchen on our way in from the parks and put our name in. I think the wait was about 45 minutes. We had the "your table is ready" flashing/vibrating device and were able to go back to our room to freshen up and get a drink at the Beach Club before our table was ready. This worked out well for us because we don't like to have too many reservations when we are on vacation.
