TCD's Pre-Halloween 2010 Weekend Warrior Trip Report

This is really great stuff. Thanks for taking the time to do it. It's like visiting FW without actually leaving home.

TCD you need to get back to the Fort more often as they begin clearing for the new whatever it is that is coming to RC. I wonder if you made extra nice nice with somebody in charge (and offered a nice gratuity), you might talk them into giving you an old TCD sign. It would be a shame if it ends up in a trash heap somewhere like the RC employee recognition plaque!

Have to agree, I do believe that TCD should have one of those signs in his front yard!

Don't think I won't be working on that. But, somehow I imagine this sign will disappear. Or, hopefully, it will be used at the relocated barn.

TCD Can't help it Dude, that's just the way I've been rewired.

I hear you. I'm really not one to talk. My man card was taken away so long ago, I don't even remember what it looked like.

I'm glad you liked it. But, these photos are a poor substitute for the real thing.

Well, I agree, too. But, Mrs. TCD would never stand for such a thing.

If I see the TCD sign at Property Control, I'll pick it up for you, for a handling fee of course. For those unfamilar with the term, Property Control, it's where unused WDW stuff is put up for sale or bid.
And ok, great trip report, yada, yada, yada.
Do you do any of the traditional camping stuff when you're there?

Wonderful trip report TCD! Sadly living so far away we don't get to FW as much as we'd like to. Your TRs are the next best thing to being there.
Lot's of memories for my family at FW. I'm trying to feel happy about the changes, but the older I get the less I like change.:scared1:

TCD,

Thanks for the October Trip plugs.

I think they are starting to work like a charm.

DH appears to be caving.

I don't know.

Define "traditional camping stuff."

Thanks.

BTW have you checked your signature lately? It still says: "Christmas 2009 here we come. See you at the Fort"?

Do you mean like drinking Kungaloosh and wearing sleeves as leg warmers? :rotfl:

That would be a negative.

But, I am willing to try anything once.

Well, almost.

awesome report. we will be there for halloween and now I am counting the days. Would you recommend the haunted carriage ride if we could get it. Me and the wife did a carriage ride on news years a couple of years ago without the kids. this looks like it is a ton of fun for my 6 y/o and the 14 y/o would find it pretty cool also

Thanks for the TR, TCD,.... and dang the powers that be if they've removed the steak fries!! My special secret trick was to use the leftovers chopped up the next morning and fry them with some onions for FW HashFries..... yummy!!

Yes, I recommend the HCR. But, I have to admit that it is a splurge, as it will run you $60 for about a half-hour ride. I don't know why, but I really like it, and it has become an annual tradition for the TCD gang.

I am not sure yet whether the steak fries are permanently gone. I will be conducting further research on this soon, and will report my findings. We also liked the left over fries, but toasted in the toaster oven. I like the hash fry idea.
